[Q] Mango - Windows Live Messenger - Need confirmation - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

On Windows Live Messenger, we can add yahoo messenger contact and chat as usual. But on Mango, Yahoo Messenger contacts are not shown.
When I tested login to YM from PC, My Live account status is offline on YM, but I can send message from YM to my Live account, but I can't reply from my Mango.
Is that normal?

Same issue in IM+, I logged in with Yahoo messenger and none of my WLM contacts appeared.
Sent from my Samsung Omnia 7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App

same here....

Some WLM Contacts doesnt show it
Some contacts doesn´t appear in my device, I can´t send any IM, but when they send me a IM, I can see them.
Someone has the same issue?

Same here. A Yahoo messenger contact shows up on the desktop client, but nowhere in threads options.
Edit: They show up in the Live Essentials client. Along with a chat on Facebook option.

Pocket PC Yahoo Messanger

I am trying to locate a website from where i can download Yahoo Messanger, I have tried yahoo but have failed. can anyone give me the link for Yahoo messanger for pocket pc
There is no official Yahoo Messenger for PocketPC anymore.... the previous version won't work anymore with the new network configuration that Yahoo has implemented.
However, you can use the free Agile Messenger to connect to Yahoo Messenger network.

Now that MSN (Live Messenger) and Yahoo have joined there networks, you can chat with your yahoo contacts from any MSN/Live Messenger client.
So if your pocket PC is already equiped with Live Messenger as it should be, just register an account (free) and chat in the same time with both: your Yahoo and MSN contacts.

Hi,
No need to try, it's a public knowledge:
from june 2007, yahoo messenger and live messenger/MSN have connected their network. This means, if you are a MSN user, you can just add in your contact list any live messenger user and chat with him live as you do for your yahoo contacts.
The only limitation is that you can only chat, you can't use voice chat and video chat features.
Anyway this doesn't affect much PPC users, since those video and voice features are not available yet on the mobile versions.
(except for the voice clip feature on live messenger, but it is not a true two way live voice chat)
And yes, if you want to use live messenger client, you have to register an account on www.msn.com, generally with a microsoft mail address (@msn.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com etc.)
P.S.: I've never heard of that palringo client.
Using those multi-client messengers is another alternative, of course. I was just suggesting that if it's only for yahoo and live messenger conctacts, no need to use multi-clients since yahoo and live messenger users can communicate with each others.
So If I have A Yahoo Email And now I creat A MSN Account For That, I Can't Use My Yahoo Add List When I Connect With Live Messenger And If I wanna Chat With Them I Have To Add Them With My Live Messenger?!

Exactly.
If you only add your yahoo contacts within your yahoo messenger, there is no way MSN network can know you also need to reach them when you use MSN messenger. Not to mention they don't even know if you're also a MSN user or not!
Therefore you need to add the yahoo contacts you wish to reach through MSN Messenger from within MSN Messenger, using your MSN account.
Cheers!

Windows Live Services

I have a Symbian phone at this moment (Nokia E71)... and I use as my primary personal email. a hotmail account with all the services attached (messenger, mail, skydrive, calendar, photos, spaces)... thatțs why I wanna go to a windows phone (maybe HTC Snap)...
My question is how are those services integrated into a windows phone?... a 6.5 windows mobile powered phone... I know that by installing windows live messenger you have acces to messenger and email (push like email)... but is it possible to sync also contacts and calendar?... because this way I would have everithing I need on the web, on my Windows 7 laptop and also on my mobile phone...
So please post your opinion regarding this integration...
is there a way to sync the windows live calendar with the hd2 calendar?
Well only Hotmail, Photos, Messenger, Home, Spaces, Profile and People (Contacts) works on a Windows Mobile device. Calendar sync maybe can be done by syncing it with Outlook on PC and then with PDA, but I'm not sure.
all of that using myphone app i suppose....
i really like how i have all my contacts on hotmail... and synced with my hd2... it would have been excelent if it was the same with calendar... after all you need contacts, email and calendar...

[Q] Facebook Messaging Integration Sketchy?

Does anyone else have issues with Facebook integration in the messaging hub? It says some of my friends who use Windows Phone are offline, even when their not, and not all messages get forwarded to my phone.
I dont really have any problems with the facebook intergration and messaging although i have had a problem with windows live contacts not showing up, for some reason they were getting put on ignore and you cannot see that on a wp7 device.
Perhaps dissociate your windows live account with facebook and try again there also could be a problem with your cellular data connection.
Integrated Facebook Chat WP7.5 contact Problems
I have a Nokia Lumia 710, WP7.5, Rogers Network. I've noticed during the last couple days that I can no longer access facebook friends on my messaging hub. Even with my facebook chat toggled on, I cannot see any of my fb contacts who are online. I have been able to chat with my hotmail contacts.
The problem started off as something minor, where I would have to toggle the facebook chat option (under MESSAGING SETTING), off then on, after which the my fb contacts would reappear, but now even that doesn't work.
Clueless as what to do now.
Thanks
I'm having the same problem, but in my case Facebook Chat never worked
I have the same problem. Any fixes?
