Hey all. I just bought a used Touch Diamond a few days ago and the stock screen protector it came with was already scratched and damaged. I can't install it without any bubbles, even with soap and water.
Do you guys have any recommendations for just a screen protector? I know there are previous threads about this, but a lot of the screen protectors mentioned back then aren't being sold anymore.
I already used Zagg cuz I had leftover Zagg but the rubbery texture kept me from sliding my thumb along nicely.
I was thinking Best Skins Ever but I believe they have a rubbery texture as well?
I tried both: BSE is a good product, less rubbery than ZAGG.
ZAGG protection to scratches/punctures is superior than BSE.
BSE is more user frienldy to apply.
The common problem I found is the dust which appears on corners after time.
IMHO to have the best solution is to "install" the screen protector only, not the body, and BSE has this version for the screen only, ZAGG hasn't (you have to cover sides as well). If you are good with cutter the best is ZAGG cut to fit the screen only (you need to cut it before applying...)
How rubbery does BSE feel compared to an unprotected screen?
a little bit; less than zagg. as time goes by things improves.
sry for the delay!
i actually bought this just for the screen:
http://cgi.ebay.com/2x-LCD-Mirror-S...wItemQQptZPDA_Accessories?hash=item335777fb8a
works like a charm and looks pretty good. only drawback is direct full sunny day. it does get a bit washed out but still viewable.
ive tested every screen + body protector on the market and all are the same rubber thick as walls, spended like 100bucks on all..... nothing is good as a 2bucks screen protector.
a simple and plain 2usd screen protector is ENOUGH to do the work.
Nothing more beautifull than a diamond without those ugly plastics, and the screen looks awesome with those cheapo protectors.

just make sure it's scratch proof. i picked on a set of 10 from ebay for my Touch Cruise (polaris) and in 2 months i went though all of them. even my finger nails puts a nasty scratch on it.
the "scratchproof" ones are more durable but of course, don't mix your phone with yoru keys in the same pocket, it'll still scratch but with everyday use, it works great.
Has anyone used these Clairvue Screen Protectors for the G2? If so, how are they and did you get the ultra-clear or anti-glare?
I have the ultra-clear one and it is so clear I can't tell it's there. It's easy to apply, Looks great, and feels almost exactly like the glass underneath it. You can't even tell it's there. I highly recommend them.
10% off Coupon
Coupon code protect331 :10% off your entire order. Coupon valid until March 31 2011
just ordered one too
Ordered mine since I loved them on my Nexus One. I got the UltraClear as well!
I think I'm gonna order the privacy finish one.
I've been looking for a decent quality static cling screen protector. This one sounds pretty good. Does anyone have the Anti-Glare one? How does it look? Does it darken the screen much? Does it keep finger prints off?

I believe all anti-glare films, regardless of the brand, will do that and also decrease the clarity of the screen. It's just how they work.
I bought Clarivue ultra clear the same time i ordered my otterbox, the otterbox screen protector was really good. But the Clarivue protector is amazing, install was not hard at all. I did an amazing job installing it no bubbles or lint at all. I showed the phone to my friend and he couldn't believe that i had a screen protector on. The cut is perfect covers the whole screen. When you install it make sure you put some tape on the edges, it will be easier to align the protector. i took pics of the phone with the screen protector on, i was just trying to show that no lint is present.
These protectors are awesome. No one could tell that I even have a screen protector on! They fit extremely well and feel exactly like the glass, unlike zagg or similar which gives you a rubbery feel and creates more friction than anything else (annoying as hell if you use swype). Highly recommend!
Been using them for years, love them, thats all I buy for my devices, thats the first thing I do when I get a new device is get the Clarivue screen protector.
Just ordered the Ultra Clear screen protector.
Free world wide shipping!
just orderd one to my mobile to, its so easy to put on in the video i saw. thx for the coupon 2
i recived mine today. its pretty good but the ****ing problem that annoys me is that its not exactly cut!! it doesnt cover the whole screen... is urs perfect fit or should i contact them?
i have the clarivue anti-glare and its decent but this is probably the second anti-glare ive ever bought for a phone so i don't have much experience with them. compared to the first one i bought from tmobile its definitely an upgrade... fingerprints are visible after a while and the screen is diminished a bit but overall i do like it. the cut isn't perfect as it doesn't cover certain areas completely but i mean its like a millimeter off.

I had to take off the ultra clear screen protector, because it got scratched up. Could not stand all the scratches. I installed the second one, but its not a perfect fit like the first clarivue protector. Im not sure why the second was was not a perfect fit, but i will leave it on.
Does anyone have a new coupon code?
the protect331 expired...
Alright I got the new code, just ordered the Anti-Glare screen protector.
I'm pretty satisfied with the ultra clear protector, so now i'm trying these out.
Dratz, I should have checked this forum before I bought mine, haha.
I grabbed http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220676439684 for $3.99
I'll let you guys know if its any good.
I,was waiting for HTC Desire Z screen protectors to hit the market because I can't order anything...
after 3 months of use my screen protector started to loose (mostly because of the dust i got between the display glass and the protector when i mounted it)
i have dropped keys and a heavy metallic cigarette lighter on my phone while i had my screen protector on and i noticed when removed it today that my screen looked as it did when my phone were brand new
Mounted the new protector today (since i got 2 when i ordered it) without getting any dust particles under it and it still looks brand new
Too bad the rest of my phone starts to look quite used
Hi,
someone konw a very good sreen protector? I only have a very simple one.
I use the official HTC screen protector: HTC Desire HD Screen Protector SP P430
http://i.expansys.com/i/b/b203639.jpg
Probably not is the best one, but for me it serves.
Until now it is fine!
Case Mate worked really well for me, easy on easy off
Best Screen Protector I have EVER used I bought from Phantom Skinz
(link -http://phantomskinz.com/)
and its amazing and tough as hell and very easy to fit.
Ive also just got 1 from Zagg, which is very nice too
Dont buy those crappy skin protectors on ebay, most are fakes and the rest are rubbish, with only about 3/10 real or of any use
HiT The THaNKS if I HeLPeD
Don't get yourself those cheap screen protector..
for those cheap anti glare sp, you'll have rainbow effect which will distort the vividness of your screen.. i tried these sp before and i recommend: Capdase Imag, iDEFENSE, and the well known Steinheil Ultra Fine series.. go and get any of these brands and you won't regret it..
i have the official htc screen protectors, as with any screen protectors they can be a bit fiddly to get on properly first time so i ordered a couple of packs of them. Once i managed to get one on without any air bubbles, it's stayed on perfectly and you barely notice it's there. i've had it on for 4 months and it's showing no signs of wear like some of the cheap ebay ones do )
If you are willing to spend the money, the Martin Fields ones are very, very good. You don't notice they are there, and they are nice and smooth, like the glass on the screen. Just nake sure you put them on the right way, like all of the full front screen protectors for this phone.

Ive got the official HTC screen protector on mine, its been on for nearly 5 months now and still in great condition
Another vote for the official HTC screen protector. Its not the cheapest and its a bit of a pig to fit perfectly but its really good and extremely hard to notice.
I have Brando Ultra Clear and it's great. You won't recognize there is a screen protector.

+1, I bought one the other day from overlayplus.com. It arrived extremely quickly and while it did take some work to make sure no dust got in-between the screen and the protector once it was applied it fitted seamlessly to the point where I can't even tell it's there. So yeah, worth every penny.
I use really cheap ones from ebay and it's fine. I replace the it aboot every 12 weeks but for 18p each, who cares?
I apply with a spray of lightly soaped water and never getting get any air bubbles.

Personally would suggest a look into the sedio ultimate screen protector, not the easiest to put on though. I wrote a review which should be on the first page of this forum if you wish to check it out.
Hi,
i bought the Vikuitiā¢ Displayschutzfolie ADQC27, not cheap but very good, and there was a special Offer at the Time, buy 2 get 3.

Yeah I would agree the official HTC screen protector is the best.
For first aid, Brando shop screen protector also does the trick. Not as good as official, but I liked it better than Invisible shield.
Easy to put on, washable, ok protection level.
Am I able to get a Phantom Skin shipped to Australia?
They seem to be high quality and reusable. I want!
Screen Protectors
I bought Zagg's invisible shield. You only get one and it is like installing car tint but it is pretty damn good and lifetime replacement. its about 19.99 to 20 or somewhere like that. worth it though.
after reading this topic i will also buy htc protector.
did someone heard about anti reflex screen protectors?
i heard after using this the sharpness get bad.
is that really soo bad??
sun light you cant see anything on the screen.
I use the HTC Screen Protectors too.
But bought them because of the review of some other users.
I cant say they were wrong The shield fits perfect, has no overlapping edges, is nearly invisible especially with a bodykit/protector.
One thing ... that infers ...sunlight!
Under the sky you cant really see anything if you are not in a dark shadow of something.
So ... anyone made experience with matt/faint/milky protectors?
I heard be someone else, that under the sky the view of the screen is much better.
Wonder how these are going to work with the bevelled screen on this one?

Not easily scratched.
The screen protector takes away from the beautiful viewing of the screen and (I don't care what anyone says) lessens the touch screen responsiveness.
I had a screen protector on my HD2 for a while, and have not been happier since removing it. And I've had Invisibleshield, BodyGuardz and BSG. They all lessen the experience. Since removing the screen protector on my HD2, I have not had a single scratch. And that's after 3 months or less with the screen protector on and 9 months or more with it off.
And what the HD2 has is not as good as what the Sensation will have in Gorilla Glass.
Don't use lame screen protectors man...
I used them on my HD2 like Darnell_Chat_TN for like 3months. Now almost 8 months later I still have 0 scratches on my naked HD2. You just need to look out if you put it in your pocket with keys etc.
I've got a Thunderbolt which is said to have gorilla glass, but some users are still reporting the glass to be getting scratched. There are some very clear screen protectors which you wont even notice on. I recommend you place a screen protector on. Realook is what I've got on mine.
Well I never knew it, but the HTC HD2 does have Gorilla Glass. No wonder the screen is so strong.
No screen protector for me and loving it . Now I know I won't use one on the Sensation after seeing the difference with my HD2!
I think the screen protector on my G2x is one reason I didn't see the brilliance of the IPS/LED screen as much as it was hyped. Had one on my Nexus One before I had the screen replaced for the first time (dust, still a problem).
My wife's Nexus One has endured a LOT of purse-abuse and doesn't really show it. It's amazing how people can scratch these modern screens in daily use.
look in this thread at the screen protectors link. i couldnt link directly as i dont have enough posts.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054925
I am one of the people who likes to be extra careful. Besides, I've seen various types of damage inflicted on the supposedly scratchproof Gorilla Glass, and I just don't buy into the claims made by the company. More durable than conventional glass? Sure it is. Indestructible? Definitely not.
I'll definitely be slapping a screen protector on my Sensation.
+1 for a protector. I am over protective of my devices and it shows. I take the case and screen screen protector off and it's practically brand new.
I take such good care of my stuff that I have a regular clientele of friends and family who buy my old phones off me, because they tell me it's like buying the phone new.
Shouldn't be calling people lame for wanting to protect their stuff. Not everyone on these forums upgrades their phone every 6 months.
Has anyone got a screen protector on their Sensation? I'm just wondering if the bevelled screen effects it.
I use the Boxwave ClearTouch Crystal screen protector on my HD2. I tried about 4 other brands and the Boxwave works best for me. Screen is almost as vibrant with the screen protector as it is without one and the touch sensitivity is fine. It also seemed to be easier to install than the other protectors I tried.

I had my nexus one for a year without a screen protector as well and no scratches what so ever. I used my wifes phone that has a screen protector and I don't like it at all. So no screen protectors for me for this one.
I can't wait for this phone to be released!
Gorilla Glass is not 100% scratchproof ( Proven on my HD2)
well It is really hard to brake.
You can consider buying a nice sleeve for your phone .
It is in my opinion a better solution
What I mean : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ql37A-SgA3A
There is really no need for a screen protector. Care for your phone. It after all a remarkable peace of technology. Not just a toy.
Although I f you want a toy just get a Samsung.
100% Genuine plastic toy feeling.
bought a gel case with screen protector. the screen protector didnt fit. shame as the case is perfect. managed to drop phone on floor by accident outside. not a mark on the screen. will still get screen protector though.

That list says my G2 has Gorilla Glass too. It was a strong screen but it did get a small scratch. So I bought a Realook Premium Screen Protector it is truly crystal clear and responsive.
Same here, screen film also doesn't fit.

I bought the HTC screen film however the sides around the screen as its kinda lipped up would not apply correctly (bubbled up). Remove this after a few days and found a desire protector, applied it successfully, however obviously its a bit short. bought a case from ebay and it came with a protector, which covers the screen but does not go all the way to the edge, stuck on well and no apparent "bubbles". its ok quality. case is ok silicon case
The other thing I like about the screen protector I have on my HD2 (Hence my preference for screen protectors, is that the matte finish cut down the reflections on the reflective screen. That and I'm a klutz!
Im planning to switch out my old stock screen protector that came with the phone as there are some scratches on the screen protector. Im wondering, which screen protector is the best for my phone as in durability and clarity and cheapness (under 15$). Also anti glare is not a feature i would need but it would help as long as there is no rainbow effect on the screen
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
This has been discussed extensively in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=800638
I have a Skinomi screen protector and I love it. I got mine shipped to be for about 9 bucks. Use the coupon code skinomi25 for 25% off. Pretty much covers the shipping costs and tax.
I like the Skinomi because it is durable, easy to install and I can hardly tell it is installed on the phone. It retains the natural glass feel of the screen and doesn't affect the touchscreen at all.
The one thing I can advise is to use patience when installing it. You can reapply the protector as long as it is wet. It took me about three tries but once I got it placed perfectly, it looks fantastic.
I was just talking about this earlier... I would recommend ClearTouch Anti-Glare screen protectors (they have a "Crystal" version as well) by a company called Boxwave. I use the anti-glare version. It still looks brand new and I've been using it for over 6 months now. Screen visibility and sensitivity seem totally unaffected; no rainbow effect though the anti-glare is very mildly textured. The texture quality seems unnoticeable when the screen is lit. It's reasonably priced too.
the cheapest screen protector you can get is the household saran wrap
just kidding.
check ebay. there's alot for a really good price
