If its based off 2.3.4 or CM7.1 RC1, then Bluetooth A2DP doesnt work, just an FYI.

I remember you from the g2 forum you was breasting it. Constant updates and all.

its all right i made it more stock, deleted the extra apps and added libs, new kernel thanks to fauxs, swype, sdcard fix, hosts edits, vpn.ko, gps.conf edit to make it connect faster, etc
if you look over here its a port of my rom over from the g2 with a few addtions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991254

Hmm, I downloaded it and, formatted cache, dalvik cache, and wiped. However I think I may have one of the G2x's that aren't as mod friendly.

why what did it do?

It turns on and the LG logo appears once, then shortly after just goes blank..and then the phone heats up.

After a lot of requests I'm opening a new thread which will contain my latest CM7 builds (you can find my older builds in this thread). I'll be updating this post so people can follow progress easier, and post their requests/observations. In the next few days I'll be updating this thread with information on how to build your own CM7 ROM. Some might consider it messy, but that's how I've been doing it for quite some time now and the result is satisfactory (for me at least).
About the ROM
Click to collapse
The rom is not pure CM7. I build it from source with the latest commits, then I apply modifications, mostly focusing on speed and smoothness. The releases are not that frequent, you'll be (normally) seeing updates every time there's a bunch of noteworthy additions/fixes by the Cyanogenmod team, or when I'm making significant modifications (even less frequently). If you want a pure CM7 build with frequent (nightly) updates you can take a look at the thread by Kali- which hosts the official nightly releases.
Edit: Here you can find the commit i'm reverting on each release, just in case anyone wants to make their own personal build. <~ Apparently, this is no longer necessary.

Mirror #2: http://www.eth0.it/Android/index.php?dir=PNK/ (kindly provided by maddler - thanks!)
Warning!
Make sure you disable Music syncing @ Accounts & Sync, under the settings menu. This is due to the experimental Honeycomb Music.apk. Thanks to the people that pointed it out in the thread! The Honeycomb Music player has been removed in the recent releases.
Bundled with the latest GApps (including the new Market).
You can flash the ROM using either CWM 2.5.1.3 or CWM 3.0.0.5, it's entirely up to you. If you're coming from an older PNK release, you don't have to wipe. If you encounter any problems you might have to, though - so it's advised.
Flashing with CWM 3.0.0.5 (Download)
If by any chance you get into bootloops, download FULL-WIPE.zip from this thread, flash it, and then flash the ROM. If you're still getting bootloops follow these steps:
Go to recovery > Wipe Data > Advanced > Wipe Dalvik Cache > Flash FULL_WIPE.zip (which you downloaded earlier) > Flash the ROM.
Alternatively you can flash CWM 2.5.1.3 and read below.
Flashing with CWM 2.5.1.3(Download)
If you're using CWM2 to flash and you get bootloops, download FULL-WIPE.zip from this thread, flash it, and then flash the ROM. If you're still getting bootloops follow these steps:
Go to recovery > Wipe Data > Advanced > Wipe Dalvik Cache > Flash FULL_WIPE.zip (which you downloaded earlier) > Flash the ROM.
What's not working
- Camera Auto-Focus when shooting videos.
- Camera Touch-Focus when shooting pictures.
- Video playback 2/3 blue in portrait.

Help! When I flash this ROM and boot: the notification bar is missing / this app keeps FC'ing / I see flying turtles all over my 4.3" screen
YOU DIDN'T WIPE CORRECTLY. Please read this whole post again. And again. And again.
Especially if you're coming from a Sense ROM.
Help! USB Mass Storage isn't working!
If USB isn't working, follow this excellent guide by Walker Street.
Why does my keyboard show japanese characters?
Since the last few builds the keyboard defaults to the japanese one. Just long press in a text input field > Input Method > Select "Android Keyboard".
Quadrant doesn't show anything when running the 3D tests. What's going on?
At the moment, we're missing the Adreno 205 (DesireHD's GPU) library files for Gingerbread. When they're released the problems will be resolved, but for the time being I'm affraid you're going to have to live with it.
Why isn't WiFi working?
Just reboot your device and it'll work just fine! It happens when you flash the ROM for the first time.
Adfree isn't working! I get JavaIOExeption all the time.
You don't need Adfree. The builds comes with a preinstalled hosts file to block ads automatically. You don't need to install an additional application for this.
The Application "xyz" keeps force closing. Can you fix this?
First, make sure you wiped correctly, as stated earlier. This is really one of the most common reasons of getting a force close. If you're absolutely certain that you've wiped and clean-installed the ROM, please take a look at the market comments/description of the app that's forceclosing. Some applications have not been updated to work on Gingerbread (2.3).
How dare you remove the Sim Toolkit application? You should be ashamed of yourself!
Sorry! Some people claim it has a negative effect on battery life. If you really need it, you can find it here. Just push it to /system/app/ or copy it to your sdcard and install it using your favorite file manager.

Hey, been using this rom all day and its nice altough had some problems with youtube app, sometimes being unresponsive and force closed but was ok after a reboot but i really really like the smoothness
Anyway my question is, is there a way to get radio s-off? i tried with the "one click radio s-off" tool but it says that incompatible kernel because i want to flash another radio.
And maybe this is a bug?, at 95% charged(still connected) the Orange LEd switched to green led even if its not fully charged.
Keep up the good job.
LE: sorry computerfreak for ninja edit , i need another radio thats why i want Radio S-off.

How come you recommend such a new radio? Thought there was some risk in using the later ones. I have 26.04.02.17_M2. No good?
enjoying your new rom. thanks.

INSTALLATION
CWM-Recovery has to be on the phone
1. Download GT-I9001_signed_Cryberts_Rom_v1.3.1.zip
2. Put the zip on your internal SD-Card
3. Go into Recovery-Mode
4. Make a backup of your existing rom
5. This step isn't necessary:
Go to "Mounts and Storage" and format cache, system and data
6. Flash GT-I9001_signed_Cryberts_Rom_v1.3.1.zip
7. Then power-off the phone and wait some time before you start it again. When it doesn't bootup take out the battery and wait some time.
8. Now you can restore your data. Therefore go into CWM and do an advanced restore with only the data.

I do not really think, that this is a problem. If you need an app, just shout and someone will upload
Nevertheless, a changelog for added/removed apps would be nice.
That Rom looks absolutely beautiful...!! i got a couple of questions: The scores in the CPU section of Antutu are extremely low since you only modified the stock kernel with init.d and boot animation support. You just could've taken a kernel of Manveru0 or Sakindia123 with OC/UV as well. And (I can't make it up from the changelog) did you implement CWM as standard recovery? And extended powermenu (I presume that one's implemented since it was in Reneph's theme allready, you might want to state it in the changelog as well)? Last question; what's the use of the 3 lower buttons on the homescreen, since all phones with hardware buttons won't have those enabled in official ICS roms?
Other than that, I'll be checking this one out...!!

I don't think that the scores are really that low and I just wanted to use the stock kernel for my base. So if someone wants OC/UV he just has to flash one of the other kernels and thats it.

No CWM isn't included. You need CWM to flash this rom so I think there is no sense for implementing it.

The buttons can't be removed.
The left one is for restarting the launcher.
The one in the middle is for seeing all homescreens.
The right one gives you access to the shortcuts.

May you can consider using Go Launcher EX with ICS-launcher theme as default launcher. Its pretty nice too and do not have such buttons

Kind of obvious about CWM indeed, since it has to be flashed with CWM

Thought about that too. Perhaps I will remove ICS Launcher in the next version. Because it seems that GoLauncher is also a bit more stable and smoother.

The ICS Launcher by SyndicateApps is very unstable atm. I would also suggest some other launcher instead.
Great work anyway!
Just flashed it, booted up nicely with a nice galaxy nexus animation. So far so good. Had no problems yet with ICS launcher, but I'm now going to try Go launcher EX with ICS theme, just to see which one's better looking
Downloaded, instaled sucessfuly!
For now, no FC-s, really great!
Thanks a lot.
Will play with it for testing further

Yeah, its really useful. Thank you so much for implementing the support for GT-I9001.
Sent from my GT-I9001 using XDA App
For now everything works fine. I'm missing my google talk... also google maps are gone, but maybe I have some how deleted it myself..
Anyway, great job, thanks
Nice work! good to see more custom roms
You updated Market on newest version (3.4.4)?
Tapatalked from my Samsung Galaxy S Plus
Will try it now, Changelog looks really great.
Only App i would not have removed is Kies Air, i thinks it's a great one but that's not the point, i'll make a backup of it
Edit: I'll change back to the stock Touchwiz-ROM for one time, just to make a backup of the music player. I like that you can directly control it from the notificatiobar. But two questions but that's my personal taste. How can I get back the Touchwiz lockscreen and you said that the contacts and phone have been modded, but I actually don't see any changes. I'll change it by my own just like some small other things I don't like but all I all great work!
Edit2: For the next version you could include the newest version of Swype.

[Q&A]
This section hopefully addresses some common questions. Read this before posting any questions.
Before asking anything, clear cache and dalvik cache and see if it fixes the problem.
Browser unable to load anything despite 3G working? See here.
Q: Where is 3D gallery/video/gaming? How can I get it?
A: Never, until LG open-sources their proprietary Real3D framework. Now stop asking. Please?
Q: I don't want CM! I still want 3D!
A: Look elsewhere. There are great stock roms by ThiaiZ and The Dark Lestat as well as Meemo23 on this forum
Q: Must I wipe data? I have a lot of apps and data!
A: From experience, you must wipe when you install this rom for the first time. Afterwards, you can just wipe cache and dalvik cache and install the apps again. DO NOT restore Titanium backups since it will virtually leave your phone in the state it was before factory resetting.
Q: When I boot my phone, LauncherPro doesn't start/hangs/shows a black screen!
A: It is a well known problem with LauncherPro. Just press and hold the back button until a popup appears, then select "force close".
Q: I want to overclock Can I flash TitanKernel?
A: Flashing a stock kernel on CM will result in bootloops. Although overclocking is not needed for this rom since it's so fast and smooth already, you can use the overclockable modules here to overclock, and read the instructions there. Make sure you download the CM compatible modules and not the other modules.
Q: Do I need a task killer?
A: No! Task killers are not needed on a rom like this In fact, they can cause more problems than they solve...
Q: Where do I change the themes?
A: After installing the rom, go to the apps list and scroll down until you find Theme Chooser. From there, you can choose the corresponding theme you want. If it says that it is missing files, ignore it and apply the files anyway. Try Lucid and Vivid, they are exclusive to this rom only as they are paid themes on Play Store. However, Sonny (the developer of the themes) kindly allowed me to use his themes for free. Support Sonny by purchasing his themes here and here for your other phones Also, his ICS theme is included for you to mock those without ICS or its lookalikes
Q: Where do I get the LauncherPro themes for the themes?
A: The ICS and Lucid themes are already in the rom. There is no LauncherPro theme for Vivid if I'm not mistaken.
Q: How do I make my LauncherPro dock look like it came from ICS?
Download this and this. Extract the zip file to a folder your phone's sdcard. To set icons, long tap on the individual icons in the dock, select change icon, custom icon then browse to the correct icon. For the dock, tap the settings button in homescreen > preference > appearance settings > dock background > custom > [folder of icons] hhhha.png. If the icons do not appear, reboot your phone and it will appear. Done!
Q: Why is [app] not working?
A: Ask the developers of [app]. Only ask if it's root-related or is affected by busybox or something related to what I added in the rom.
Q: Can you include RTL support?
A: Try CM first. I have no idea if RTL is included as there are 3 Arabic languages in Languages so you tell me if it's included
Q: Why is xxx feature not working?
A: Don't ask me because I'm not the developer of CyanogenMod You can report functionality issues here. Examples of what should be reported to the CyanogenMod team would be call echoes, although they will not accept any reports of problems when you use this rom as they only want reports from stock CyanogenMod users. Only ask here if it's related to the tweaks I made.

Hi, I can try that over the weekend. However, the reason I based this on CM is because LG stock roms lag too badly Nonetheless, I will give it a try and see if there's a noticeable performance hit. If it isn't too bad, I'll put that up instead to get the best of both worlds
How is the battery behaving? Thanks.

Can you clarify which version of CM 7.2 you are using?
It sounds fickle but there's stable, release candidate, nightly etc. along with different but similar devices p920, p970, etc.
In p920 directory alone, today there is:
update-cm-7-20120410-NIGHTLY-p920-signed.zip
update-cm-7-20120403-NIGHTLY-p920-signed.zip
update-cm-7-20120402-NIGHTLY-p920-signed.zip
update-cm-7.2.0-RC1-p920-signed.zip
cm_p920_full-49.zip
cm_p920_full-48.zip
It makes a big difference if we are to then debug found issues, particularly with the famous ghost call/radio baseband issues. It is rumoured that the very latest CM7.2 for p920 fixes these.
Cheers
Leon
Ps. It may be handy too if you could also create a kitchen ROM version, so people can flash over the latest nightly CM7.2 ontop of your existing patch (or vice-versa)

As for the second part, for future updates there's no need to wipe data, just clearing cache and dalvik cache will do. You only need to wipe data for the first install.

The kit largely automates rooting, baseband flashing and CWM flashing. If you don't need any of it you can skip the preparation kit and install the rom straightaway.

The kit largely automates rooting, baseband flashing and CWM flashing. If you don't need any of it you can skip the preparation kit and install the rom straightaway.

well i dont know about the dev...but i think..its probably because "mokee OS" isnt updated quite often..and without Source...fixing bugs is a bit of tedious task...
but my ROM will get the next release...m working on fixing some bugs ..
UI's nice. But such a bummer its GB. If only it was ics..

How does it feel being a FC?
Try clearing data from play store, maybe it helps
Play Store FC fixed uploading the new build with some goodies
nice rom, really smooth, looks nice, extremelly light (430MB memory free of ram)
i don't understand guys complaining "it's not ICS" - it wasn't supposed to be...None of ICS is able to be as smooth as GB, let's face it
This ROM sounds good. I will try it after EXAMS !
