I do not believe this, not because I think you are a liar, but because every HTC I have owned has not had a good camera(quality wise). Maybe they've turned a corner but I have to see it to believe it.
I personally do not like the camera as it "washes out" peoples faces and makes them really white or something if its an up close shot. It is really annoying. Other than that it takes pretty decent pictures.
I played with a sensation and boy did that take good pictures all around I like the sensations more.

You just need to dial the brightness down a notch or two, the G2X sensor is very large for low light environments.

I feel the same exact way. The G2X camera has good software but the camera quality itself doesn't hold a candle to the Sensations camera. Nor does the video recording. I also love how the Sensation snaps a picture the instant you press the button.
I don't mind taking comparison photos or videos for the non believers.

Your right. Ever HTC camera I've used has pretty much sucked. The Sensation is the first one I've used with a quality camera. Probably the best I've ever used. The low light performance is top notch as well.

you just crushed the hopes and dreams of every g2x owner on here that was on the fence between their phone and the sensation lmao. bunch of swing states in here. I love the g2x. mine might overheat when hot spotting or youtubing excessively but I love it none the less.
until I start seeing htc's with better LCD (no washout viewing at an angle) and they're rootable(HTC sense blows) I don't think sensation "can hold a candle" to g2x's regardless of gingerbread being out or not

Sense does blow hard. I don't know why people like it. I'll take Touch Wiz any day of the week. At least its not so intrusive. I loaded ADW on the Sensation the second I had it. The only good part about Sense is it let's you keep the nice contacts app and the cool lock screen.

Don't drool! Welcome the first G2x with a fisheye'd lense. It's a completely removable. I used this same lense on my Samsung Vibrant (and the sample photos you'll see below are from the Vibrant, NOT the G2x just yet). Now my G2x will be doing all the work.
The lens has a magnetic ring on the rear and then you apply a ring as well to the camera on your phone that has some adhesive in the rear of it.
Some of you will ask where I got it from. Well. There are several types on the internet of the same brand, but this one seems to give the best picture and less blurriness around the edges. It rocks.
Only issue I see is the flash will be semi-blocked and might cause odd lighting. Since I came from the Samsung Vibrant it won't be such a big deal to turn the flash off for the time being.

Id like to find maybe a combo pack but the ones Ive seen are $60 and come with a huge telephoto lens

I just went to ebay under In Cell Phone & PDA Accessories. I typed in "Lens" for a general search because i wasn't sure what was available. they are all universal kits that usually stick on with magnets or clips
I really like the typical magnet style but also saw this as a bundle for cheap. Might be worth a shot considering the similar price.

Ok...after you hear about the caps from others. I would NEVER mention all caps to anyone....seriously....this is tehe G2x forum. To get to the Sensation forum, scroll up, on the right hand side, Find your device...type Sensation...you can use all caps if you wish...and boom there ya go .

Would you really buy another LG phone after the way they have handled the G2X? I love my G2X but LG will not get more business from me when the time comes to get a new phone in a year or so....

Very very happy. Hell I just saw a article on the g2x having issues, mentioned screen bleed which I don't have, reboots which also don't have and battery heat issues.
Lol id rather have all of those vs the sensation dust, dead pixels, unforgivable wifi, screen not responding to fast swypes, way hotter than the g2x, two different screens which wash out baaaaad.
G2x ftw. Only issue I ever had on ny last g2x was a few reboots out a month. Meh no biggie
And ya know what smashpunks alot of people dog the **** outta this phone but for LG and there first big android phone I think its beautiful. Everything about it. Yea they should have this update out and definitely should have did more qa. But for being LG it is not a bad phone at all I know some peeps are sour about the g2x but I have no complaints never really did I love my phone and I'm super happy. **** HTC is known way better then LG in terms of phones and even tho the g2x came out 2 months earlier it was still a better device. Which is crazy cuz we all know how fast new phones get phased out......think about it

I think people were just too hard on LG cause it was the first high end smartphone of theirs. Again the sensation issues wow. I think its cool if not many more g2xs are sold, kind of gives us that love it our own special place.lol but for real, the sensation features had me at hello, but once those wore off the performance just degraded and I missed my g2x. I sure love mine. Especially with cm7. That brightness in the scroll bar like the vibrant is genius ...
I had a n1, people dogged it non true MT screen, and now look at it, still big. People dogged the vibrant, look at it, still strong and part of the elite screen club and its gourmet wow., now this, dog it, but it flunking flying.

I've been wondering if I should switch my g2x out for a mytouch 4g slide. I like the g2x but its been causing problems ... not to mention the horrible battery life
Ive always liked the mytouch brand and I believe the new slide is dual 1.2ghz Processer.

I don't really think there's a reason to have a physical keyboard anymore unless your a female with long nails. A keyboard just adds more bulk to the phone. In the end, your going to have to figure out which phone suites your needs better.

It's not that I don't want the g2x. Its just too many problems you know? And an actual keyboard comes in handy sometimes. I'll do come more research on it, I don't thing the new slide is that thick. I could be wrong.
What I really want is my iPhone 4 back.. I was usingg it for almost a year and then it took a dive in the lake.. now it boots up to the iTunes logo if I have it plugged in but then halfway through a restore, I know its not totally fried cuz then it wouldn't even turn on.

Since I have T-Mobile it will be expensive to buy the same 32gig I had.

I like the Slide better than the G2x. In fact, now I like most phones more than it. I haven't noticed *too much* that I lost .3 inches of screen. I can't say that i would like it more if LG actually released a proper update though.

That screen looks alot smaller than just 0.3. I don't think I could never go lower than 4"

If the screen is the same as the mytouch 4g then it isn't a big problem for me. Besides I heard it has a pretty good resolution as well

Traded a nib g2x for a myt4g slide, its the wifes. I still have my g2x.
Camera goes slide easy
Screen on g2x looks and feels much bigger
Battery is tie. I've never had bad battery on any android I've had
Its not thick for having a keyboard
Sense sucks
G2x blows doors off the slide at this point
No perm root
Hate physical buttons
Speakers are same as g2x.
G2x looks better
Meh, your choice op but id keep the g2x. Get a hardware bug free one, slap cm7 on there and be happy..

Yea dude that phone looks sick, that's definitely my next, hopefully September!!! And to the op I say if u ain't happy with your g2x screw it get the mytouch slide it is a nice phone, but me I would keep g2x, now it would be a different story if the Hercules was out

I don't know. Each blog I've read states something different but now that the device is close to being released, none of them are speculating. Everything spec wise is just a rumor at this point. I asked my step father who sometimes knows these things but he didn't know. He said he would ask someone who might though. He did tell me that Samsung would be releasing the phone on every carrier on the same day or atleast that's what they want to do.
In my opinion, I think every GSII variant in the US will have the Exynos CPU. I would think they want each region to have the same CPU.
The battery cover on that Hercules looms like its brushed metal.

I use Hellfire pheonix with Trinity 1500mhz kernal. Its a monster now. Having stock is a bummer for any device. Some hate bulky sense. Some hate the ugly moto blur. Many get bored of touchwiz and that's just ui. Once you free your device it's a matter of hardware and manufacturers willingness to cough up source. LG is stingy with source but that hasn't stopped the devs. We still get good stuff. Thank them! Look at the hardware and decide based on that is my opinion. (If you plan on flashing roms that is)

I would advise you to keep it simply because you will not get much in return for it. In fact, LG has officially discontinued the G2x and Tmo has sent out an internal message that they will no longer sell or support this phone. In addition, current customers will not be given any refunds. Exchanges for the G2x will ONLY be the My Touch 4g -which LG claims is comparable. I do not see the My Touch 4g being worth it. However, as you will likely hear from others in the forum, with the right ROM (and that means different things to different people), the G2x is still a fantastic phone. Most GB based roms are running very smoothly and there are a few ICS roms running pretty well that are still being tweaked. I'm pretty satisfied with mine since I rooted it.....best of luck to you thought!
There are some better phones, but it's a good phone for it's price. You can't ask too much for a $200 phone, but it works like a $300 or even $400 one
Thanks everyone for replying, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't hardware that made the g2x suck. I agree I do like sense and am currently running a sense rom. I am also debating my touch 4G slide. Both are around the same price.

If your gonna choose tmobile the g2x is a hell of a good phone, even better when rooted and custom rom'd from xda!
The one gripe i only ever had was it coulda used at least 1gb of ram which would have future proofed it till at least the g4x/ one s came thru, still thats a minor complaint and i still love owning my g2x as a backup phone. Dont think ill ever sell it just cuz it is too beast of a phone to get rid of and my kids also cant get enough of it lol

It's alright, could be better though. If you're looking for a 100% reliable phone, then this one might not be for you.
I previously had the Nexus S which on paper is inferior to this phone. That being said, this phone in reality is buggy, I have had issues with it on multiple ROMs, the camera pictures are quite poor, and the battery drains quite fast (not overclocked)
The good is the 4G which I enjoy the faster speeds, and even though the camera is disappointing the video makes up for it.

I liked the phone so much, I bought a second used for dirt cheap on cowboom.com. This phone is a beast that T-Moble and LG failed to work right. It's dualcore with sufficient memory. It has a Tegra 2 chip making gaming a reality with games like GTAIII and Zen Pinball. It does hdmi out with ease. All this in a sleek body with a decent screen. Any popular GB ROM is a go on this device. The only thing that could make it better is quadcore, 1GB RAM, and Tegra 3. Here's to G4X!

Camera sucks on stock sir, due to bad focus options and such. (Cm7) Hellfire Phoenix... touch focus... not too shabby. Here is a quick snap. Its loads better now.

This phone isn't bad, its pretty fast actually. But if you get this phone, you HAVE to root and install a custom rom, everything stock on the phone is boring.
