Is there an android application that would play certain custom sounds on certain actions (switching between homescreens, etc.), basically an ui sounds extension?

Hello,
I was using HandcentSMS in the past and that app came with a really handy feature : everytime I needed to set a sound as a notification/ringtone/alarm/etc, it allowed me to browse through my music library with artists, albums, songs categories. Without it, I just get the System Android choice, with only stock sounds.
Because installing HandcentSMS JUST for that seems a bit absurd, is there a way or an app achieving only that action ? It would be so useful.
If not, I might start developping my very first Android app...with no experience at all...see you in 2012...
Thanks !

Not to completely hijack, but I too have a question about a music player and don't want to put up a new thread:
Does anyone have a recommendation for an app that is: low-resource, devoid of lockscreen freezing/dialing (no exp with this, but above poster made it sound terrible), and supports control via a2dp/bluetooth?
I frequently use my phone as my GPS in my car and would like to be able to run a music app in the background that I can control from a bluetooth headset. I assume that there are some "simple" music apps that require fewer resources in the background.
Does anyone have a recommendation? Is the sensation powerful enough that any old app should run fine in the background?
Best,
NR

PowerAMP hands down is the best application I have used, and trust me, I lost count of how many different ones I have tried. It isn't cheap though at $4.99, but give the 2 week FULL trial a test drive and see if you like it. I liked it so much I bought it. It has all the features you requested above.

apologies if this has been asked before but has anyone been able to get this app to work on your vzw s3?
modifying the slider seems to have no effect on sound.
i have been using this app in the past since it also affects streaming apps such as pandora.
any advice or alt app suggestions are appreciated

Whenever I am playing music on the Google Play Music app, it places a widget on my lockscreen to control the music. Many people see this as a useful feature for many good reasons; I personally do not. I am more than happy controlling the music via my default lockscreen widget and notification tray; I feel that this widget adds nothing of value to me, and instead obscures my default lockscreen. (Again, I'm not bashing the widget--it is simply not for me.)
So far, I have been unable to find any option to completely disable this lockscreen widget. It cannot be longpressed and deleted, and it is not listed in the Widgets. Basically, if I'm not playing any music, my phone pretends that it doesn't exist; and if I am playing music, the widget will replace my lockscreen without question or permission.
Is there any app setting, system setting, custom apk, xposed module, root hack, kernel hack, etc. that will keep my lockscreen intact as I play music? I want to play music from Google Play and see my default lockscreen widget when I turn on my phone. How can I achieve this?
I'm a long time lurker and first time poster; please let me know if I've broken any forum rules, and thanks in advance!
Hi! So there are apps that have their own built in sounds for notifications. However, on my OnePlus 6 (OOS 9.0 Stable) I can hear those sounds only if the app is in the foreground. If the app is in background it plays the global default notification sound.
I'd like to know if there's anything I can do to have those apps play their unique sounds? I am rooted. Thanks!
