This changes the game a little bit. I use a Nexus One, and my contract has been over since February. I've been waiting to get the Optimus 2x, but once I found out about the at&t deal, I was put off. Now that these phones have both 3g bands, it isn't that bad to stay off contract and wait. Anyone else feel the same?

Oh I def. do. LG surprised many people w/ their new commitment to Android. The 2x is doing well overseas, the 3D has only the Evo to contend with, and LG's tablet entry looks quite nice as well. Nice job LG!
Hello guys, I'm well and truly sick of my Samsung G5 I5500 after it has broke 3 times in 10 months (2 of which were hardware faults), I have got a brand new one as a replacement and I'm going to sell it, just wondering which phone i should purchase, here is what i am looking for;
Low budget phone (under £100- ideally)
QWERTY Keyboard
Wi-fi
3G
Chat style messaging
On a good Pay As You Go network (£10 top up, unlimited texts and some internet, I actually want more than 3000 texts though like TMobile who offer 999,999 texts a month for £5)
Does NOT have to be a smartphone.
Camera etc
I was looking at the Nokia C3 QWERTY or the Orange Rio II, but i would want a phone unlocked or on TMobile.
Thank you.
LG KS360 has a qwerty keyboard, and chat style messaging, but I recommend a cheap smartphone LG GT540.
zte monte carlo, very good phone in the UK.

Even tho the low budget, and even tho i hate LG like hell, I also think KS360 is a suitable phone followed by you'r specs.
I don't really like the look of the LG, I'm also not a huge fan of them seen as though my previous LG phone broke after a week! I was going to get the LG Optimus last year but decided not to.
Do you guys think the Orange Rio II is a good little phone?

Samsung Galaxy Mini or Gio best choice for you i think.
U must select android or Bada operating phones.
pony up and get a used hd2, you wont regret it
The Sony Ericsson X10 mini pro is about €130 and it's an Android QWERTY slider with touchscreen. That's value for money.
Thanks for all the replies guys, I'm just going to stick it out with my phone until Christmas then i can obviously increase my budget and buy a much better phone, I'll have about £150-200 for a new phone if i wait till then- any ideas?
I was thinking of a Wildfire S or Orange Monte Carlo
what about Samsung galaxy S?
Ill have a look now, thanks, I've just been looking at the HTC Wildfire S, seems like a nifty little phone.
I don't really want to buy second-hand, I like to have things new with all the extras and in a perfect condition- I'm one of them kind of people.
I was looking at the Monte Carlo but i can't be doing with all the bloatware from Orange, so I'm looking at the Wildfire S still- anyone got any opinions on that phone- regarding the speed of the phone, screen quality, the camera, does it run smoothly etc?
Thanks for all your help.
I started this thread in order to ask you the g2x owners what do you really think about your phone. Because I'm looking to buy an android phone that I will use for the next ~3 years. The g2x and the thrill are both great phones (by looking at reviews) that have reasonable price (both prices are + - the same).
Thing that are important to me:
Camera
Screen
Gaming
So I'm asking you - should I get the G2X to serve me for the next ~3 years or should I get the Thrill
Thx

I have no first hand experience with the thrill but from seeing the specs they are about the same hardware wise set aside from the processors which G2x uses tegra2 and thrill uses omap4. Gaming wise nvidia is known for gaming so the gaming on G2x is superb. Screen wise they are virtually similar except for thrill is bigger by 3 cms. Camera is decent on the g2x and if rooted you can use the LG cam 3.0 which takes really nice crisp pics.
When I first got my G2x it was a nice phone very bland soft ware wisevbut once I rooted it this phone is something else customization is awesome (granted you know what your doing :/ ) its an amazing device I wont be switching devices for a while love me G2x and I'm sure you wont be disappointed with it if you decide to get one.

Hey xda
I want to buy a new phone.I searched the internet a few phone calls and I was pleasantly surprised by their performance and their price ..
I could not decide and want to ask you what you choose!
If we know any phone up to 300-350 euros, that is good .. you are grateful: D
I do not know the following mobile performance, but I want to be good screen, I have trouble not touch your system .. to go well and I did not lag, especially in GTA 3 (some phones we've seen on youtube that does not have lagged, however some comments that have lag "space").
LG Optimus P970, Black
LG P990 Optimus 2x, Black
Samsung I9001 Galaxy S Plus, 8GB, Black
HTC EVO 3D
LG Optimus SOL
Samsung S5830 Galaxy Ace Ceramic White
Thanks in advance

Try EVO, I have Galaxy S plus and its awesome, but when it comes to ROMS, doesn't have really much. Search the forums for these phones' ROMS and make your choice
s2 international version
HTC EVO 3D, I have this smartphone and it's awesome
I've had a lot of success with Samsung phones. I currently own a Nexus S and probably will be switching to the next Nexus, after the Galaxy Nexus.
Galaxy S2 i9100 is the best! or wait for S3 but it costs more than you want to.. imho..

I own a galaxy s plus. It's a great phone but as said earlier, it doesn't have a lot of custom ROM's or ICS. But if that doesn't bother you, you should get it.
I personally don't know much about the LG X2 but from a review I just read they say it's a good phone but the call quality is crap..

My first cell phone is LG, it's white (it was stolen), it's good to use, so I think LG is nice.
For €300 you can get Huawei Ascend P1. It's is slim and fast.
Also check out Atrix 2,and a galaxy s advance.
Dunno if the s2 is in your budget.

Hi there,
My LG P500 recently got hard bricked and I can't bring it back to life with multiple combinations and methods. I have brought it somewhere and they have told me they can try something, if it works I have to pay £15 if it doesn't I take my phone away.
I don't know if it's worth it, I'm probably better off being another one, used of course. Anyone know roughly how much it is worth paying for a used LG P500 these days?
Cheers.
Here in Toronto, used P500s are in the range of $40-$60. If you're in the market for a phone, you could put in a little more money and get a better used phone - the P500 is unfortunately getting old.

I've checked on GSM Arena and LG P500 in terms of the stats is a very good phone for the price, which other phones could you recommend which is a bit more expensive but worth it? Must be same size screen as P500 or bigger.

For around $80-$100, you can get a Galaxy S Captivate/Vibrant (The first Galaxy Phones).
For approximately $150, you can get a Galaxy Ace 2x.
They're both popular ARMv7 phones, with active development communities. They're pretty good replacements for the P500.

No,Try LG OPTIMUS 2X (4“ screen ) ,exellent phone of their time & its first dual core phone in world
Or simply go for Samsung Galaxy S Advance i9070,(4“ screen & 16 Gb internal memory ) exellent phone in midrange catagory.
Both above phones have same battery (1500mAh) and same screen size also.

I know from the prices you have quoted, it is meant to mean that maybe the Galaxy Ace 2 is a better phone, but if you look at the link above, the Galaxy S Captivate/Vibrant is really good also, it has Adobe Flash support which the other one doesn't ect.. But thanks for the advice, I'm going to leave the idea of getting P500 for the moment and try and pick between these two model phones.
Put me in a real dilemma here, that's 3 good phones recommended there, all within about the same price range. I will have to pick them apart after work and see which one I want to get.
From what I can see at the moment is that the Samsung Galaxy S i9000 has a lot more features and support than the Galaxy Ace 2
GT-I8160. The Galaxy S i9000 has WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML, Adobe Flash support, DivX support which the Ace 2 doesn't.
The LG Optimus 2X has the Adobe Flash support along with DivX/XviD support, 2nd camera and 1080p video filming.
I'm leaning towards the LG Optimus 2X atm, but I've got to look in to it later, anymore suggestions?
