Theming Sense Lock-Screen - Droid Incredible Themes and Apps

So I have searched around on Google as well as XDA and I can't seem to find my answer. I would like to edit the default Sense 2.0 lock-screen images but I can't seem to find them. I know Rosie images are in the HTC Resources APK as well as the Framework Res APK but looking around in either one of these APKs has not led me to find the lock-screen images. If they are here, can anyone tell me which directory the PNGs are in as well as the file name?
While I am asking, what do I have to edit in Rosie to disable landscape mode?
Thanks for any help guys. I apologize if it has been answered before but my searches aren't helping.

I believe you need to look for the HTCLockScreen.apk. I don't remember where it is located though. Haven't used a Sense ROM in a long time.
*It's IncREDible*

The HTCLockscreen all doesn't have the pull down graphics that I am looking for. Already checked
FYI I am doing this on a Sense 2.0 ROM
Sent from my Incredible using XDA App

They are in the com.htc.resources.apk and all begin with lockscreen
If I remember correctly the are in drawable-hdpi

Wow. Don't know how I missed them. Thanks for the help. Anybody want to help me tackle the rotating Rosie?

Like I said, haven't been on a Sense ROM in a LONG time. Not since Redemption Revolution first came out. Been running senseless or OMFGB ever since.

Htc apps to nexus

I want to know how I can install a few apps that are from the HTC DESIRE to our nexus.
I have the APK's but when I use root explorer or astro I get a DID NOT INSTALL.
I want to install:
- HTCMUSIC (SWEET PLAYER!)
- HTCNAVIPANEL
- HTCSTREAMPLAYER
And a few others.
I tried adding them to the nexus app update zip that installs fine after I install a bare rom. But it will not work that way.
Any suggestions? I REALLY want these apps on my nexus!
get the Paul's (Modaco) Desire ROM for the Nexus... as far as I know, only a few apps work without the Rosie (HTC Sense) framework
Search Feature, does wonders...
You can't just drop Sense UI APK's into a stock ROM and expect it to work, the Sense Framework is not there and there is really no point in porting it because of the work involved.

No DUH search helps and I DID search just so I don't have to read comments like yours to do a search. What am I suppose to search for that will give me the answer you just did? No need to answer. Most people are not so "informed" as you or have the knowledge to kow what to search for. So why not just relax and take a humble pill and help out nicely!

DUH, if you searched you would not that. You need to learn how to search better. Best bet is to just use one of the roms that are already HTC Roms.
It's not hard to learn how to search for what you really want to look for. If you think it's hard then maybe you should've bought an iphone.

I had the desire rom but it has issues. I make calls and after the call the phone locks up and wont turn the screen on. Sometimes I'm in the email app and it closes on its own. But the htcmusic and is nice so I just wanted to install a few of the desire apps. I did get the desire keyboard working so that was nice.

Not to sound flamish but if you did search you would of seen several threads asking for the same thing, (How can I port the music app/weather/etc, and given the same answers. Most of the HTC apps require the Sense framework. It would be a ton of work to port the framework over to a non-Sense rom. One could say it would be........nonsense to try <insert dr evil laugh>. If you dont like the launcher or widgets, what you can do is install the Sense rom and then change the Rosie Launcher to the stock one and also switch out the apps you are having problems with. For the most part non-Scense apps will run on Sense but not vice versa.
@JasjarMan, just to make things clear... Sense UI is an OEM extension to the Android framework by HTC. It has several components not available in the stock Android framework. Sense UI framework is proprietary and porting the framework would be very difficult (but not impossible) considering it's not open source.
As @MonkySlap said, most of the stock Android applications and components would work on the HTC Desire ROM port considering the fact that beneath the HTC framework lies the stock Android framework.
And yes, there are tonnes of threads where this question has been answered before.
That said, there is a port of the old HTC music application (not the Desire 2.1 application) which works on non-Sense ROMs... something a little search would retrieve... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=651889&highlight=HTC+music+app

Metamorph themes applying, but not changing anything(?)

I have tried numerous metamorph themes modifying the framework-res.apk, and they seem to apply just fine (metamorph gives me a "succesfully applied" notification). The thing is, once I reboot, nothing changes . I was working on modifying the lockscreen, and everything applied well, but it didn't show a difference. I figured I must have messed something up, so I applied another person's lockscreen mod and it acted in the exact same way. This is really frusturating me cause I have been working on different solutions for the past 2 hours, and nothing seems to be working.
I am using GB 2.3 (latest release), and do have a different theme applied using theme chooser, but as far as I am aware, it has no affect on the lockscreen files. If anyone has any ideas, that would be great!
Thanks in advance!

There's 5 versions of GB, which ROM do you have? And if you are using a theme it's important to know which one. Also, maybe throw some links up to the actual morphs you're using. Also, what exactly are you trying to do? Like what's the morph changing specifically. I mod my frameworkres.apk and SystemUI.apk manually with every flashover, (using aospCMod 3/26 and "androidian" from theme chooser) so *maybe* I can help.
I am using the rom on this page
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=864403
(AOSP 2.3.3 / CM7 (Gingerbread) [03/26/2011]).
I am using this "theme chooser" theme (Honeycomb Hero)
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=965216) (the one for CM7, obviously)
I tried to apply this lockscreen theme (MDPI version)
since it was targeting the same thing that I was working on; this was my test to see if it was my theme that was messed up, or if it was something else.
I am wanting to simply change the green unlock icon that you slide to unlock your phone, which is located in:
framework-res/res/drawable-land-mdpi
Hope this helps; thanks again.
I've used the lockscreen morph you're trying to apply on the same Rom a couple versions ago... I forgot which one but after reading some posts in the thread when I tried it on later versions it just didn't work because the framework has changed (i think) cuz it didn't work for me either. So you would probably have to post your framework in that thread & ask the op to make the new morph for you to work. I don't think its user error or anything like that. Hope that helps ...I really liked that lockscreen when it still worked on like 3/18 or somethin

Yeah thats something I might do too. I'm just wondering why the images that I edited aren't being changed. Maybe ill do a flash or push framework over, but that seems riskier. Thanks for the input

lock screen mod, need guidence porting

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1077998
found this in the vibrant section and it is very much like the lockscreen mod that dagr8 has on his roms. i really love the miui lockscreen and music controls because it works with 3rd party music players and because you can open the dialer and messager apps directly from the lock screen. since this has all the needed files in a .zip i was wondering if somebody could port this to the infuse or guide me on how to do it. i would like to learn.
Bump. Wishing you luck as this will be beneficial to many of us.
95 views and no answer, hmm maybe i can pm one of the devs that uses this on another phone.. .
APK Manager and baksmali to decompile, notepad++ to edit.

thank-you I will try it.

[Q] Lock Screen Mods

Perhaps some of you will disagree with me but the SK4G stock lock screen blows. I have a burning desire to replace it with something that doesn't remind me of a broken windows and make me read to tell time.
So far I've tried the market apps and have not been satisfied with that route. Some of them are beautiful, but none the less they all feel like hack jobs and none of them allow you to use a pattern/pin/password unlock code.
I do know that it is possible to change the lock screen at the OS level. I feel that this is the correct route to implement a graceful, functional, lock screen mod.
I also know that is has something to do with the following files:
/system/framework/android.policy.jar
/system/framework/framework-res.apk
/system/framework/twframework-res.apk
I've already spent some time crawling through the SMALI files of android.policy.jar (specifically LockPatternKeyguardView.smali) and I've been comparing it to its brother in the SGS.One thing I noticed about LockPatternKeyguardView.smali in the SK4G is that it is much bigger than its SGS brother.
I've been able to identify a whole bunch of statements that reference the Sidekick unlock screen SMALI files. I also see that android.policy.jar for the SK4G contains SMALI files for both the puzzle and glass unlock screens. This suggests to me that I should be able to enable these by modifying android.policy.jar.
My questions are:
Where can I go to get aquainted with the SMALI syntax?
What do the other two files do? I've seen these mentioned a lot in theme development but do not understand what parts of them play into the functionality of a lock screen or if they play a purely cosmetic role.
Is LockPatternKeyguardView.smali the correct file to play with?
Am I missing other files I should modify?
Why do the names of the SK4G SMALI files not map perfectly to what appear to be calls to them in the LockPatternKeyguardView.smali?
Am I completely wrong in my approach?
Thanks everyone for reading and for your input.
I've been working on this today, as I would also like to see the stock lockscreen on this phone instead of the sidekick lockscreen. I'm working on it, but as you have found, Samsung changed some stuff up to screw with us. android.policy.jar is where you want to look to change the lockscreen style.
Framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk are used for theming, as they contain most of the images used in system applications, such as icons and lockscreen images.
I do believe that what we are looking for is in LockPatternKeyGuardView.smali, but I cannot confirm this, as I am not a pro-dev.
you can try the nolock app from the app market but what sucks is its always running so its using batter and cpu :/
ill keep digging and trying to figure it out
I don't suggest any of the fake lockscreen apps, as they just glitch and have more issues than they're worth. I'm working on it, and I'll figure it out one way or another. I just need to talk to Dr. Honk again to see if he has any more suggestions on where it might be, as the settings are slightly different from the sgs4g where I was looking to port it from.
A day or so ago I discovered this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=779803
This thread talks about the same modification but for the SGS instead of the SK4G.
The focus of this one specifically is the getLockScreenMode()Lcom/android/internal/policy/impl/LockPatternKeyguardView$LockScreenMode; method in LockPatternKeyguardView.smali.
The changes are easy to see, I just don't quite understand what's happening.
This method also happens to be quite different in the Sidekick than the one from the SGS. Again, I don't quite see what those differences mean yet.
I'll post the code before and after modification when I get home later tonight so folks down have to go downloading.
I'm working on this, have AOSP working as one of the 9 of the 9 lockscreen mod. It will be posted when it's done.
You can also use widgetlocker its pretty cool not that laggy didn't waste much battery there's diffrent themes and you can customizer the sliders, or it can drag down, many options.

Please share how you did it. Sorry for ignoring this thread and not posting code. I got railroaded into a business trip.

As I said in my previous post, I'm working on porting the 9 lockscreen mod, so I just looked at the differences in the source for the original 9 lockscreen mod, and tried adding them into our rom parts. I'll release it when I've got everything working correctly.
I see you got the mod working. Congrats and good work! How did you do it?
I just looked at the source from Whitehawkx's 9 lockscreen mod and tried to make it work as best I could. I got the changes to the lockpatternkeyguardview smali, but only the puzzle and aosp lockscreens were compatible with our phone. If/when I finish the AOSP project, it should be much easier to port all 9 locks. So for now, I'm discontinuing the 9 lock porting project, until I get further along in the AOSP project.
This is Revolution & i approve this message

[Q] Ace Hack Themes?

So I searched up and down for my answer, could not find, if im THAT blind I do apologize lol.
I have rooted my HTC Inspire 4G (At&T) with Ace Hack awhile ago and just pretty much used it just to change fonts...I was looking for some themes to install onto my phone but I was wondering if the themes had to be spacifically for Ace Hack? Also, I know you can change fonts and remove stock apps ect. with a rooted phone but can I change font color or would that depend on the app I install?
Thank you for taking time to read and/or answer!

wait, wut? The Ace Hack Kit has nothing to do with changing themes. Basically you have some options. Some ROMs have themes built specifically for them. ARHD for instance has some themes that can be flashed. You can also use the UOT kitchen to customize a theme for yourself, it may not be as inclusive as a true theme but it does a good job at getting almost ever aspect. You can also use a different launcher, i.e. Go Launcher or something different, and they have themes for each launcher.
Fonts can be changed by using the font installer app. the color of the font depending on what font you're talking about can be changed with UOT kitchen or with a theme you use. Hope that helps!

haha not a problem! yeah ROM specific themes are few and far between, especially since the ROMs are updated often which sometimes causes changes in framework which in return causes the new to update the theme. You can always try ADW launcher, they too have some themes. If you aren't opposed to CM based ROMs I know they have a theme chooser app as well. UOT though seems to be the best option short of learning to theme that gives you the most customizable experience.
