Hi, I have a Sprint HTC Arrive that I want to use with Boost Mobile, so I was thinking that I could possibly change the ESN on the Arrive to match that of other device that I used to activate my Boost service. Can anyone point me in the right direction for how to accomplish this (if its even possible)?
I have already have QPST & CDMA Workshop 2.7, and have confirmed that I can successfully connect to both phones using both softwares.
Hey,
I cannot be of too much help here as I live faaaar away from you, but I once searched the web and I can assure you that there is a way to unlock the phone from provider perspective. Just adjust your keywords and Google will do the trick
Cheers
thanks.
I search a lot of keywords:"change esn","htc arrive change esn","htc T7575 esn/change esn...",what's keywords to search? pls point me.
ESN swapping may be illegal in some areas. it may be possible for u to get it activated under boost if u do not tell the reps what phone it is.

htc arrive
you need to use cdmatool to change the imei not the esn. however if anybody know the htc 16 digits password for sprint. just like the samsung 16 digit password then we will be able to get this done. unfortunaly you will not be able to change the imei unless you have this password. cdma workshop 3.6 has a new htc feature but i dont know how they did it unless they send the password before they make a change. again i can not find this password and i dont even know where to find it. if anybody has a tutorial or any idea where this password might be please let me know.

Looking to sell my TP2 on boost currently. What will the person buying the phone have to do to get it working on their account? I know I'd turn my phone off for starters. Do they just give boost the ESN that was programmed to it and edit the MSID and such in the EPST? Or am I missing something?
Nobody have any ideas at all?
I got my answer from the guys over at PPC. Might as well just stay over there! You guys are no help at all.
I would only assume that since the Dec is already entered into the system, even if the phone's service was turned off you wouldn't have much of a problem, but you never know what your going to run into. I've had to switch back and forth between my TP2 and an old moto krzr, but that was from within my already existing account. If you find out the correct answer I would appreciate it if you would let me know. Thanks.
hi, I got a bad esn tp2 from ebay. has anybody success in scan for the ESN or MEID in the sprint tp2 with CDMA workshop? I used memory scan and it only return 1 section of readable memory, and i scan that section but nothing found. please help. thankyou
click tools at the very top left and then click security calculator. Enter one of the numbers and it should give you at least one of the other numbers. When I entered the meid Hex it gave me all of them. Look on the barcode on the phone under the battery. You can also report it to ebay and file a complaint with paypal, but good luck with that, lots of horror stories on the net.
no, thats not what i need, i need scan for the esn/meid in the memory so i can change it.

ESN changing is not something you do lightly. First of all you have to at the very least -And I am not even sure this will work to begin with- Change to an ESN from a completely brand new never activated phone to be able to use it on another network. The reason you have to do this is because the ESN's are uploaded into a database and a lot of times there is no other way to get one added to certain networks like sprint (but you can with some networks will add an esn and "flash" to their service like cricket or metropcs) so the reason you have to use a COMPLETELY BRAND NEW or never activated phone is because all modems/phones transmit signals called RF or radio frequencies that have a kind of electronic fingerprint that the network can detect and if they detect that you are using an "electronic fingerprint" from another phone then they will get your ass! What they will do to you I have no idea but I certainly would not want to find out and I would be sure to cover your ass really well dude! Also, is this the paid version you are using? Because it won't work with the free version and all many/most of those supposed "free versions" or "cracked versions" are actually backdoor trojans that turn your computer into a zombie... so yea. wouldn't try it if I were you unless you wanna do a hell of a lot more reading up on it first so you can cover all your bases.
But otherwise it should not be considered illegal in certain regards but is illegal in other regards. Such as: you cannot use two phones on the same ESN. What you can do is what I said however and that is perfectly legal as long as you only use one of the phones: buy a phone for the ESN number then use the *Never activated* esn on the phone to be transferred to the phone you want to use. Like I said though, this is not by any means an easy thing to do.
Here we go with yet another unlock solution.
This one applies to almost (if not all) devices which are radio S-off, it’s fairly easy to use and doesn’t wipe data/settings nor have that ugly side effect (when using diag files) in which you lose conectivity to mobile network.
Supported devices so far:
HTC Sensation (pyramid)
HTC Evo 3D (shooter)
HTC EVO 3D GSM (shooteru)
HTC myTouch Slide 4G
Click to collapse
(by the use of revolutionary)
and:
Sprint EVO 4G
Droid Incredible (HTC Incredible)
HTC Desire CDMA (HTC BravoC)
Click to collapse
(by the use of unrevoked 3 – not tested)
These are the required steps you have to take:
1. S-off your phone by using Revolutionary (if you haven’t already done that).
2. Fill in the form with the required data. This will generate an unique Config.dat file for your device. Please enter a valid email address, as you’ll be sent there the link to download the file.
This step you'll have to take here
3. Put the file on the root of your sdcard and reboot your phone into HBOOT (adb reboot oem-42). Once you’re there, navigate to Simlock and press Power. The phone will load the file and remove the simlock. Some text will appear on the screen and at a certain point you’ll be asked to press Vol-Up to restart the phone.
4. Just do it, and you’ll be done!
PLEASE NOTE!:
This solution is heavily linked to the device it's being applied to by the use of IMEI, which can be considered a breach in security.

Not for certain circumstances.. T-Mobile will only give it you you if you meet some criteria.. i.e. you're account has been active for 6 months.. I don't know what the actual criteria are.. that was just an example...
not to mention that you have to wait over 24hours to get the email with the unlock code.. this method was a lot faster than a half hour phone call with a t-mobile rep.
I was a customer for about 6 days and was given the code over the phone.

Just unlocked my friend's MT4GS and it works great with her prepaid running on AT&T's network! This method works great.

Rev is used to gain s off that's all. Which allows unsigned flashing
As for the unlock methods you may want to test this out my sig has this method and one using terminal emulator method no idea if they will work.

I know this thread is WAAAAY old, but wanted to let people know this still works.
I went to this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1801106
And followed the instructions to achieve S-OFF on a stock ROM. Then followed the instructions from the post.
For returning to stock, I just had to google the filename to find a working mirror, as those provided in the articles don't seem to be working. Thanks OP!
my touch 4g Slide NO CALLS with S-off sim unlocked METROpCS
So its 2014.. I know I should get a better phone.. Good news its I got my my touch 4g slide bootloader unlocked and S-off. Also did the sim unlock on the site that emails you back the file and unlocks the sim.. BUT here is my problem
when I put my metro sim in the phone.. no matter which rom I load (which I can now load rom recovery from sd) the phone wont work..
When I go into the settings metropcs and att show up but when I try and select it, it tells me not allowed right now, or sim card doesn't allow that connection. So I cannot get it to work. Is there a way they are locking sim cards to their phones?
I would have thought getting S-off and running the simlock file I'd be good to go.. Anyone PLZ help I am desparate to figure out what is wrong here.
Picture Of S-off UNLOCKED bootloader NO SVC
Here is a picture of the phone.. Likewise no SVC with metro sim.. I don't have a tmobile card to test with but I think either the sim lock didn't work, or metropcs is somehow locking the sim to IMEI
Anyone with ideas here plz help. If it is IMEI to sim is there a way to unlock sim or change iMEI? I know its illegal to change an ESN but imei..
Also if its blacklisted would it be blacklisted for metro too?

So I thought of a couple things. With a little research, one got shot down right off the bat:
http://www.phonescoop.com/carriers/carrier.php?c=11
http://www.gsmarena.com/t_mobile_mytouch_4g_slide-4018.php
Some carriers use weird frequency bands that the phone wouldn't support. MetroPCS uses 1700 or 1900MHz (depending where you are), which the phone totally covers. So not that.
Related to that though, is the APN settings. If you have more than one (my Rogers setup has 4), it may be stuck on an APN that just isn't working for you. So Settings > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names.
Finally (just thought of it), you may want to test your MetroPCS SIM card on a different (smart)phone. I had recent problems with my SIM (I guess it was swapped out too many times, besides being 6-7 years old), although it worked fine on a feature phone. And if you can get your hands on a different SIM (T-Mobile or otherwise), and encounter the same problem, it could very well be a (hard-to-resolve) problem with the phone. If it is blacklisted, it would be blacklisted nationally if not internationally, and there is an IMEI database to check it against:
http://www.imei.info/
Hope this helps.
Check your imei for blacklist status on the tmo website. MetroPCS is now wholly owned by TMo, it shouldn't need to be unlocked. AT&T and Tmo share blacklist data as well. If your phone is sketchy you are out of luck.
If the SIM is old you might try a new one and see if that helps.

ok So my cousin has a metro. Tried her sim, same results. So I said hmmm. Stuck her metro sim in my metrophone and vice versa. Same result.. So I I am thinking witgh 4g unlimited they are locking the sims. Called and wa told they marry the sim to the imeI. LOOKS like the days of swapping sims to different phones are over. Anyone know a way around this PLZ let me know. ALSO tethering would be cool but i'll google that.. comes as an FYI

I was looking into this, and this forum thread came up:
http://www.howardforums.com/showthr...-married-to-ESN-of-one-phone-only-that-sucks!
Looks like you can transfer phones by letting MetroPCS know of the new IMEI, but you cannot register two (or more) IMEI's for the same SIM. So depends on how you want to use your Doubleshot. I'd give them a call (or better yet, go into their store), maybe the old IMEI will still work (the thread was a bit iffy on this result) with the new (Doubleshot) one entered.
Thanks

Wow! so that's a bummer. I really like the doubleshots keyboard but I think the exhibit from them is better. Although I tried several firmwares on it and Netflix will no longer work with custom roms (thank DRM for that) I did get hella mods to this one, but would love to have both, I was thinking the sim was somehow locked. I have a sim reader any software to check? copy clone??? new to GSM, but know lots about CDMA.. I wish it were easy to just clone IMEI like ESNS
Dear forum,
let me just go straight to the point:
My Galaxy Nexus was stolen at work last friday. I tried to use some tracking software like Plan B but without succes, the SIM card had been changed allready.
Now here comes the part that gave me some hope.
When I went to My (Gmail) Account at the Android Market today (using my desktop), I noticed 2 things:
- First thing is that the record from the column "Carrier" has been changed from "Vodafone" to "KPN', so I think I can assume here that someone put another SIM card in it.
- Also at the column "Last Used" I see "February 13, 2012", which is yesterday (monday).
I was really wondering if there is a workaround or something to get more information (like the phone number of that SIM card?) than just the carrier of that SIM card and when it was last used?
Thanks in advance~
Anthony Elbers
During the night push a remote lock app to the device, if they haven't changed the google user login by then. Then just lock the device. If the app shows it set a screen message offering reward for return. Better still make it scream while at work tomorrow.

The thing is, I only work at fridays and saturdays. I also think that the person is smart enought to not bring the phone to work when I'm around.
I thought maybe if I could get some more information with a workaround, I could catch the thief myself instead of waiting for him/ her to give it back (which probably isn't going to happen).
I hope you informed your managers.
You could have a look through the available apps in the market see if there is anything you can use to lock the phone remotely and or push some really nasty messages to it. If you ain't using why should they get the use of it think there may be some way of remotely wiping the phone aswell. Then at least it would be of no use to the thief anyway. Sorry I can't be of more help. I allways make sure I activate any built in phone finder and instal lookout, so never really had to deal with the issue

Note that the phone is stolen and SIM card has been changed allready. As far as I know you need to configure Prey on the phone itself, so not really remote like Plan B.
I'm still curious if there is a workaround to get more information about the SIM card than just the "Carrier" and "Last Used"?
Like.. are those the only two things that get stored or is there more information about the SIM card that I could get without having the phone itself?
If you have the IMEI you can contact your network and ask they put a block on the phone, a lot of the time it also blocks it off other networks as well.
i think the info about the sim like its number is by far more important than map location because if you got the thief's number then you can report that number to the police and mobile network .

This is pretty much what I'm aiming for since I allready have contacted the police and gave them the IMEI of the phone. They said like something like "We'll see what we can do", but I thought there would be some workaround (yeah I'm using this word alot) to get more information of that SIM card.
I think I can assume that the column "Carrier" which is shown on the screen, is read of the SIM card?
Question is, if anything else is shown somewhere in my Gmail (since it's linked to my Galaxy Nexus) or at the Android Market or something that might be of help?

My question is, did you inform your carrier? Here, when that happened to my friend who wasn't too tech saavy, I called his carrier, had the phone blocked right away, and told them what network it was on via the same information that you received via email. The actually contact the manufacturer and the police and were able to track it down on their network, find the phone and press charges. That IMEI number is huge as it tells the carrier what exact tower the phone is connected to. In densely populated areas, that's 1-2km max. Cross reference the people at work that live in that area and boom. Done like dinner.

Tried that one. But I need to set it up on my phone first. Keep in mind that the phone is allready stolen and the SIM card has been changed.
After talking to multiple people at my local Verizon stores and being told that they either did not know the answer to my question or could "try it to find out", I figured I'd post here.
Would it be possible to transfer a Sprint Harman Kardon edition HTC One M8 to Verizon? I have the sprint provided unlock code and it has a clear ESN, I just have been unable to find any information on whether it would perform adequately on Verizon's network or what work would be needed to make it perform.
Thank you for any and all answers
Disregarding the frequency issues, you'd have to get Verizon to add the mied to their database.....which from what I hear isn't very easy to do.

The frequency issues were what I worried about, as far as adding the mied to their database I already talked to the local store, according to them, they would be more than willing to do it.
It's unfortunate that the antenna's are different, I wonder how much of an issue it would actually cause.
Thank you for the advice!

Ok antennas may be different and the locked frequency may be there... Only one way to tell is to unlock all the possible frequency you can do that in this thread

Unlock all bands of your Qualcomm device! Use your phone globally! No bs!
Then what I would do before you just activate it on vzw and possible have a phone that doesn't work is find a friend or family or co-worker... Really anyone with a vzw simcard (obviously one that's the same size as the m8) pop it in reboot and see what you get.

man i might have to try that when my contract ends so with that method u can use verzion phones on sprint or tmobile bands right if u got a new sim card of course. If i did that i would probably port my phone over to ting
Just keep in mind that unlocking all possible bands does not mean it will work. Just means that any bands the phone is physical capable of running would work. Sense there is no real list of what it's capable of there is only one way to find out.
Also remember just like a car salesman a vzw rep will more often than not tell you anything you want to hear to get you to sign on the dotted line. That's why I strongly suggest you do your own research and testing before signing any commitment.
