[ROM][EE4][ODIN] Humble 1.62 9-23-2011 - Verizon Droid Charge

First I would like to say thank you so much for your interest in Humble! The bottom line is, variety is good for everyone and I hope this brings that to the table.
Second, I would like to thank Kejar31 for his awesome work bringing AOSP love over to the Charge. Without Kejar31 and Team Gummy the charge would be absolutely aweful looking. Kejar31 has graciously allowed me to use 4 .jar framework files from his old/original Gummy rom and a small handfull of his base AOSP apps that he spent hundreds of hours porting over from raw source trees so that we could all enjoy a great vanilla android look in our themes and roms. Kejar31 and Team Gummy deserve a tremendous amount of respect as they are truely high class developers by profession.
-With that said, please make sure you throw a donation to Kejar31 as well Donate
-Please also consider donating to Syaoran12, IMoseyON, P3droid, and Imnuts
-Donate to me if you like my ROM and support Donate

No. This is an EE4 rom... the only one that will work is stranula's ee4 battery mod at the bottom of the op on that page

Looks awesome man, this seems like the perfect ROM for the general user who just wants to get the most out of their phone without a ton of features.
I'll try it out later.

Density
I set the density to 240 and it works. All is centered.

any way you can show more screen shots? like the dialer, contact list and the messaging screen? thanks

Just curious...did u do the aosp lockscreen mod on your own or use mine?
Don't care either way...just wanted to know

I was on the GB leak since yesterday afternoon but I'm currently flashing the Humble ROM. If this is truly clean, stable and fast, I'll probably end up using this for a while.
Thanks for the good work.
EDIT: Looking good so far. I've been setting up Go Launcher, redownloading apps, etc and my battery is still at 100%! Haven't seen that in a while -_-
EDIT2: Any color theming for the future? I can't stand the green.

Refuse v1.7
PSA: Thank you to all that have PM'ed me, chatted at me in IRC and the fans of this ROM. This is a quick PSA to let everyone know where I am at right now.
I will be waiting until the official gingerbread from AT&T is released before creating a new ROM. When I do, it will be based on the same idea with Refuse.
Light, Battery-Loving, and Quick.
More to come in the near future.
Thanks to everyone for their kind words and feedback. I really appreciate it!
Change Log below.
Installation:
If you are coming from another ROM, manually wipe data and cache via CWM before installing.
Download Refuse_v1.7_CWM.zip.
Copy to /sdcard
Reboot into Recovery (Red, Green, doesn't matter!)
Install zip from SD
Choose Refuse_v1.7_CWM.zip
First boot will be slow. If you do not currently use a ROM with a Voodoo Kernel, it will take a bit longer.

thanks h8rift !
i'm going to flash this tommorrow morning.
i will flash this rom just for this 100% battery icon. no need to install another app for % battery!
does it has "soft reset" option when you press the power button?
Also does this rom have the normal Market or the custom AT&T one? If it has the AT&T market please consider changing it for the basic one.
EDIT: One more question... Any plans to include the versions of the stock apps that will resize if we change the screen density?

Heimdall, perhaps?
im about to test heimdall on linux, macosx may have issues but really shouldnt. the origonal bootloaders on the sgs couldnt be seen by macosx. it should work now as they fixed the bootloaders on the sgs line so a mac can see the phone in download mode, i would imagine that what they changed in the bootloaders made it's way into this phone as well.
edit: heimdall works great on linux. should work equally great on macosx. best thing about terminal based os is no drivers needed. so it is actually easier than doing it in windows.

nice job, I like it. I am using my own tweaked stock 2.2.2. I think froyo is working great for p509.
so why choose the mik's kernel instead of franco's or fserve's latest version?

not really any specific reason, initially tried a couple and didn't make notes of which ones

well, currently on fserve's latest goldenleaf release. just wanna know if there is any advantage in using mik's kernel. i guess mik switched to franco's v18 in his cm7 rom.
v19 and above of francos kernel include the new drivers from the .35 kernel. It's recommended that you use the latest CFS version of francos .32 kernel.
Well I mean this shouldn't escalate into anything and regardless what he said/thought I'm going to try this rom and use as daily driver if its as good as it sounds my only question is can you make a themed version without the battery percentage? Honestly I like seeing my phone at 100% and not full battery but 96% drives me crazy haha will report back on how the flash went

hope it include screen off animation. does it?
Thanks for the update. Can't wait to test this one out!
Love your custom signal indicator 4G icon.
Voodoo support or enabled?
Danlo,
Does it support voodoo? and can you come directly from a ROM running voodoo if you do all the wipes without having to disable the voodoo?
@ Dan quick question on the kernel & recovery. which build do you have packaged in your build for the kernel, and any reason why its still the older version of Imnuts recovery.
Flashing now, I'll get back after I've messed around with it a little.
Nice but battery hog
Love the speed of this ROM so far and everything seems to be working ok but the battery is going down pretty quickly. Working on charging it fully and using the calibrator to see if that helps. Also put SetCPU to on demand to see if that helps.

That's a known issue with Imnuts recovery. Enable voodoo through the voodoo app that is preinstalled
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA Premium App
Installation went smoothly (coming from Humble 3.1). Didn't have to do anything to enable lagfix. It was enabled according to Voodoo Control after installation via Odin.
Haven't done much yet, but so far a smooth ride.
android browser not scrolling or pinch to zooming smoothly. works but no animation.
What's the difference between Humble 3.1 and Humblecomb? Is it mostly just a theme or are there a lot of under the hood tweaks? My battery life right now on 3.1 is absolutely ridiculous but I prefer the look of humblecomb.
Great Work!!!
You've outdone yourself again! Quadrant is benchmarking the Charge at even higher scores than your 3.1 Rom. Thanks for your great work.
Bug Report:
- Web Browser Scrolling is glitchy.
- I prefer the vertical scrolling App Menu.
Everything else appears to be solid.
I use Go Launcher but you should be able to change to vertical scrolling in the App Drawer somewhere in ADW settings.

Web Browser is pretty bad on all ROMs for the Chage. As for the App Drawer, you can change those settings in ADW settings.

Odin Install Instructions
Pre-Install:
*recommended to disable voodoo lagfix first
*back up your data
*Clear cache partition in CWR
*Clear dalvik cache in CWR
*unzip ODIN package
Install:
*Recommended to remove sim before flashing
*Leave battery installed during installation (For safety during radio flash)
*Flash Humble 5.0 Rc2 ODIN with ODIN v1.82
*This will get you to EP4P 2.3.6 Gingerbread Humble from any setup
Post-Install:
*Reboot after first full boot
*Do not use spare parts to speed up window animations because you will lose crt animation
*Enable Voodoo lagfix using provided voodoo lagfix control app
*If you get a force close or something isn't working right, factory reset/wipe cache and that should fix the issue
*If something is acting incorrectly or not syncing, simply go to settings>applications>manage applications> go to problematic app and clear data and cach for that app and reboot... this should fix any weird issues if any.

SENT FROM THE DOG POUND
Always keeping us interested, Danalo. Keep up the good work and I'll keep following. Question... when flashing via CWM, I always wipe everything but when I odin I never do. Should I wipe everything before an odin as well? I thought when installing in odin it would wipe everything anyways or is this not the case?

You don't have to clear anything really.... would be a good idea to clear cache either before or after installing the odin... Thanks for the kind words

you are legend. I'm still running Bionix rom on my Vibrant phone. Will put this rom on my bro's G2x for sure. Thanks.
I tried to use faux kernel and just got a black screen. I love voodoo sound. Yes I used the correct kernel. Is this rom in some way incompatible with a custom kernel?

Exactly which one of faux's kernels did you flash? Any kernel that works with an OTA rom like Weapon should work on this.
what is the advantage to this rom?
no offence intended but ive become a bit jaded after all the disappointing performance of all roms i hate gingerbread but for me it at least works
Excellent rom, super silky. What type themes do you have in mind for this rom?
Glad to see some team whiskey love again. I loved bionix but was pretty disappointed in the lack of updates. I will give this a shot when I get a chance.

all of faux's kernels seem to have a problem with every rom either power drain when off over night or boot loop crash
Glad to see you join us on the g2x. I'm an old vibrant nerd too. Nice work.

I highly recommend using the re-pack I posted in the Faux 1.3 thread rather than Faux's actual Rom. If you use the official Faux rom, you'll have long boot times every time due to it rebuilding Dalvik. The repack simply removes the dalvik rebuild instruction from the init script and enables init.d support as well (also in the init script), so the actual kernel is still Faux's.
I'll link it to this post as well. I only repacked the UV version btw. If someone wants it repacked for Stock Voltage, then someone else will need to learn how to repack a Kernel.
Also, you can NOT use my 2.3.4 kernels with this. The init scripts are slightly different.

I think many of us are ex-Vibrant users. This community's not as vibrant... erm (yes that's a bad pun), but there are some good people here.
Good to see you Mr. Apocolypse, we can always use more Roms.
Also, people SHOULD be able to use the copy of Bloater I've included in my Rom to access G2X Bloatware.
