S off sensation ?

I'm reading threads about people saying they have a s off sensation but when people ask where they get them or questions about the phone they disappear. Stop freaking lying ain't no s off devices , if so you would show us all. I don't even see no youtube videos of s off sensations

It's because out of all of the people with Sensation's on this forum, about 5 of them actually have S-OFF. The rest of us are all S-ON. S-OFF's are pretty rare and are either demo/test units or from other sources.

I can't figure out for the life of me how this contributes to development for our phone.

They luckily got the s off sensation..Not they lied to us..

+1 What the hell man??? out of all the forums I frequent this one gets the most non development related threads in the development section. THIS DOES NOT BELONG HERE!!!!! You shouldnt worry about S-off because it seems you dont even know how to post correctly so you should stay away from flashing altogether if you cant even post a thread in the correct forum.
Mods can we PLEASE do something about this?

[Q] Bring TripNRaver back to XDA

This is a Poll to show the support for or against TripNRaver's presence at XDA in the Sensation forum.
I love my sensation, and I feel his presence here could improve our device. I don't know the whole story from his past here, however, I think if the overwhelming majority of responses are favorable to having him here, maybe the Site owner would consider his return. I know it has been done for other Dev's in the past under Very similar situations (PM me for examples of this if you wish.)
This could be a very good thing for our devices, now that he has a Sense ROM as well.

I'd like that to. Let bygones be bygones.

For the Desire s is only one out there, the others are just ics themed gingerbread roms. Or did you mean device independent?

Muru, i'm not trying to be rude or anything... just that it doesn't take much searching to understand that there is currently only one ROM in beta stage for the desire s and that is by superkid and mdeejay. Even that has not received an update in a week now... So a poll is definitely not warranted.
A simple question would have sufficed. But i, or far that matter any of the members here do not own xda so you are essentially free to ask what you want, and it's not my place to be moral police here... but it helps to keep the forum clean. That's why i had posted my comment. Please take it in the right spirit.
The forum is anyway cluttered with ICS question threads and the relevant ones get lost in all the cacophony. If you visit the ROM development thread, i'm sure it'll answer all your questions. Sorry for sounding unfriendly.

Because, as with just about every other forum on the Internet, there is free speech for all.
If somebody you had never met walked in to your place of work and asked "Let's take a poll - which is Rasher67's best wife" then you would react the same way (unless you are a Mormon or one of a select few Muslim groups who allow polygamy).
It was a stupid question and unnecessary - anybody who actually bothers reading the forums knows there is only one ICS ROM. Like so many people who drop by here they just ask a question without bothering to do any research first. I hung around here for over a year following advice I read before even signing up as there is so much advice available. As everyone who contributes here does it for free, they are bound to get annoyed at stupid questions from time to time - and annoyed at people like you who react the same way with only 4 posts to your name against people who have been here for a long time helping out and guiding those of us who don't know what we are doing.

Yes it has been posted all over the ICS ROM threads so it might be a little superfluous but all of those are in this section, so are you saying they should have been posted somewhere else as well?
While this particular thread is unnecessary it is absolutely relevant to the development of ICS ROMs and therefore it belongs in the development section.

YEs this is right ,we all waiting for a working cam for so long every time i search the beta updates, i ll check whether the cam prob has cleared or not,

I am totally relaxed about the camera thing, I don't even use the camera so I don't really care when it gets fixed. What I am not relaxed about us people constantly telling other people they are posting in the wrong section when they are not . This guy was trying to help and got hit on.

I didn't hit him anyway, it was just a hint, i even thanked him.
The thing is that the thread is for sure important for our developers, but got nothing to do with desire s development itself, it's a thread for a different device.
That's why it should be posted in the general section and not in the development section.
For sure i can understand that he posted it here, i also once opened a thread here that should have been at the general section and i was aware of it, but that's a different story with another background.

You missunderstood me, i meant my hint about the wrong section
Before this thread has been opened it was already posted at the relevant threads and i'm sure the developers already knew it before it where posted by anyone here.
And btw there is atm one ics with working cam released, nexx just started and anounced it, but didn't release it yet

Guys, this is turning into a mud-slinging match. The thread in question has been rendered useless by all this enmity.
No matter which of you wins the argument, this thread is lost for ever, as it is no longer serving the purpose for which it was opened.

[THINKTANK] Root 1.85

I'm really thrilled with what's been accomplished so far. Without benefit of source we have a nice handfull of ROMS including a mostly working AOKP and CM9.
What we're lacking is ROOT on the now shipping 1.85. This means that fewer and fewer users will be able to install your amazing work as phones get replaced for warranty issues and new owners come to XDA looking to improve their devices.
I've started a bounty thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1699379 and the bounty is at $370 and climbing.
Please help.

Please devs this is a on the knees,begging,and almost shaking lol plea for root .
And as am I pleased with all that's been done so if ya can please help us out

Not trying to be a **** but I don't think begging for root will make it come any faster. This is kind of spamming the development section and you already have a bounty thread in general.

The development section is for releasing roms/tools/mods and collaborating on things that require development such as s-off/root. Maybe if OP started this thread as a thinktank thread and posted things he has tried already/ideas he has to obtain root on 1.85 then it would be appropriate here, otherwise it should be in general (where there are plenty of threads that talk about this already).

And you've contributed? Yea I think that if its an issue gunny will.be contacted by a mod. But thanks ?
And this is a step forward without root for newcomers this could get bad for all of us . So in theory this is a project for development and is some of us contributing time and money to better the community ,not just ranting and "spamming"

Yes I know what DEV is for. I believe that we have a special case and exigent circumstances here and spreading the word to the forum that DEVS actually look at makes sense yes?

That's not the point man there has been no updates and Nobody is confirming anything. We started a nice bounty almost 400 bucks and no reply and no word at all

what reason do I have to believe otherwise? Other than jcase, whom I've provided some data he requested nobody else is discussing it.

Gunny I appreciate the effort you put in on general and this thread. Your right about alerting the devs bc the probably never go to general. Keep it up hopefully we'll get root sooner then later. We're on the same boat

Anyway, at this point I think root is probably in the works with some developers, but on the down-low.
If any developers would be willing to at least give us a status update, a thread like this wouldn't be necessary. But until then, this thread is definitely a good idea.
