So I really want to move my apps to my sd for all the obvious benefits, but when i format my sd to do this I have to copy all my music back(1100 songs!). Not that I'm lazy... but when I do this about 1/4 of my songs have some # in front of the filename before the song title. I.E. 03 Dude looks like a lady. I am so sick of modifying these filenames just to get an alphabetic listing in the music player. Does anyone know why this happens and if there is any way to avoid it. Also, when I format my sd card, the second part is supposed to be ex2, but i don't see that option in my mac's disk utility tool. Is it called something else on a mac? My goal is to install a theme on dude's latest build. Thanks for everyone's help! This place is tops! credits:
haykuro, thedudeofLife, jesusfreke, and all those who don't have their names on the builds, but are major contributors.
my first attempt at installing a theme resulted in a blank screen after reboot
Sounds like your music files arent being managed.
You need to go through your folders and tidy up the tags on your songs.
I dont use Mac, so I cant help you there.

my files look as they should on itunes or in their folder on my mac. but when i copy them to my phone, i get random numbering. it's not because there are duplicates, i checked that out. i am perplexed as to what that is all about.
thanx for the response
There is nothing wrong with eitheryour HD2 or Facebook; the problem is with a particular tweak that I find irrevocabley pernicious across my phones! It ALWAYS causes my ELF, Diamond, and HD2 to behave erratically and without adding the alleged performance boost everyone is convinced it does!
I have tried it, it caused my album to lose the ability to load Facebook photos, fixed that, recreate the problem and saw the same result, and finally fixed it again!
NOTE:Most of our tweaking apps apply this legacy em3.w tweak mindlessly to our wm6.x systems.
The fix is simple:
After you have applied all your performance tweaks, go into your registry and:
1. Navigate to \HKLM\SYSTEM\STORAGEMANAGER\FATFS
2. Change the DWORD value "CacheSize" to 0
3. Reboot
4. Launch Album, goto Facebook albums, load your favorite one, browse the pics
5. Rejoice!
Cheers

Go into your registry
Or you just download the hotfix at the official HTC site....
Hi shirreer,
thanks a lot for this, unfortunately this seems not to be the problem I'm facing. This Reg is on 0 already.
I've been using a lot of Manila versions (currently 20142924)
But also 2011 and 2012 had the same issue.
Maybe its the FacebookSDK build in the ROMS I used so far. Dutty once issued an different one, but with this album works, but contacts doesn't any more....
Thanks although.
Oh hey, that works nicely. Guess there is such a thing as too many tweaks. Heh! Don't generally use the feature, but it's nice to have it working anyway.

Do you know if this hotfix is available somewhere for custom ROMS? Anyone extracted it from the official one?
Edit: I found the files from the hotfix and installed them, no change (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5989296&postcount=12)
I don't have a Leo, but this fix works for me on my Raphael & Rhodium: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=268518&d=1263662460
It simply creates a folder called "PINET_ROM" in the root of your device. The FacebookSDK.dll is hard-coded to look for Flash Storage there, but for some reason, the driver that's supposed to create the folder (OEM_FLASHDRV_1.DLL) doesn't mount the drive properly (or something like that). So this should get the online Album working. Also, make sure these registry keys are set so that you see the option to view FB Albums for linked contacts:
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila]
"EnableOnlineAlbum"=dword:1
"Facebook.Disable"=dword:0
(The latter value shouldn't actually be there at all)
The downside here, of course, is that the Facebook Online Album cache is going to take up quite a bit of storage on your device, but for you Leo users, I assume that's not a big deal, right?

Hi Captain_Throwback!
I cannot believe it, as my Reg-Key on my TD2 Rom (Yin.09) was anyhow correct, I followed your advice and created the directory via Resco Explorer on my Root of the phone...and it really works....simly as that, just createa dir, I still cannot believe it....
THANKS A LOT!!!!!!!
Hi.
I've the same problem.
But i can't create the directory in the root. It says that's impossible.
I've resco explorer.
Can you help me?
nothing...
i can't resolve.
help me
I dont seem to have a problem loading any friends albums anywhere, in the app, in the htc albums or where ever.
THE problem i have is, i cant get my own album to load in the fb app normaly .....
I can see my wall and all that, but when i go to my album tab to tag or whatever, in the fb app, it just sits there loading forever.
The only way i can get it to load, is by adding the fb app to rotate i bsb tweaks and rotating the app to landscape and they show. It wont load any thumbnails though.

You don't have to create the directory. That's what the CAB I linked to does for you. Just install it.

The Facebook app is an entirely different animal - that's an MS app. You'll have to search around to find fixes for that issue. My response relates only to the Sense online Album integration.
i've tried to install the cab, but appear the message : impossible to install "t-back..."
why??

I don't know. That doesn't make any sense. The CAB doesn't even contain any files, so there's no reason it shouldn't install. There's also no reason you shouldn't be able to create a directory. I assume you have an HD2? Can you provide your device ROM info, Manila version, etc? The best to allow people to help is to provide all those details.
Yes I've an HD2.
The rom version is 1.66.408.1
Manila 2.5.xxx
Radio 2.06.51.07

If it's not letting you create the folder, that likely means the Flash Drive is actually working, so I don't think you need this fix. Do you not get pictures when you go to Facebook Online Album?
When i go to create the folder, a message appear: impossible to cerate folder, the folder already exists.
When i go on facebook on line album... i see nothing (only the list of my friend)
when i touch on refresh (on a friend's name) appear the message: the customer doesn't have an album to visualize

The problem you're describing isn't the problem I was attempting to fix. Did you try the tweak from the first post regarding the CacheSize?
Are you sure the friend you're looking at has Facebook Album pictures? I can get to Online Album 2 different ways - either going through a link Contact's page, or selecting the Facebook Tab in HTC Album. From there, you should see a list of the linked friend's FB Albums. if you're not getting that far, then you have no way of knowing if the picture preview is working or not.

sorry i've already tried the tweak in the first post, but nothing, the value of DWORD is already on"0"
I thought I had made a thread for this a while ago, but can not find it. Sorry if its a repost.
What I was wondering is whether or not someone who had an app, or the skilz to make an app, that can take a sample of an mp3/wma/ogg/flac/etc file, match it on say shazam or something then update the ID3 tag with the pulled info. With the option for it just to rename them automatically, or ask for your approval of changes. Much like how Album Art Grabber gets your artwork for you on mass, with little or no manual intervention. This would be great for a few reasons.
I have been finding myself using mp3 download apps on my phone a lot now, more so than my comp and these files are usually incomplete at best. a way to get these, then run this app to fix discrepancies would be awesome!
Its not that I'm lazy, I just have 10+ years of tunes on my external and a lot of them didn't get tags back in the day. Plus after that long, uploads, downloads, 4 computers, iTunes (ARGH!!! I HATE ITUNES!!!!!!) renaming and reorganizing have some in a mess. So when I transfer them, they usually all show up unknown, null, or DGOI.mp3. And renaming & tagging 1000s of songs one by one is not how I want to spend a week.
Hope this sparks an idea, or someone can point me in the direction of one that already exists. I'm sure one does for a PC, but I don't use mine for media other than movies. My phone is my music machine. If a PC solution is the only way so be it.
I don't know of an app that can do this but maybe someone could take the method that the app ,"MP3 Download", uses. First you search for a song and can preview then you can choose to download it. Once you have downloaded it you can goto edit tags and it has a download button... I don't know what database it uses or how it is configured but it will give you album art and is usually correct. I think it has to have the album name though.
Thanks! I'll try that on there, and my old iMusic Tao apk I still have.
Mixzing pro can do this
JD
I used to be able to do it on 2.2, 2.1, etc. Just create a directory with a dot in front of it ".temps", and use astro to find the files, but maybe something is different with honeycomb? I'm doing the same thing, but gallery still sees all of my files. Thanks.
*Can't figure out how to delete this post, but go ahead and delete it, my mistake.*
maybe just use a specific micro-sd card for your porn.

Lmao.
Clear cache and reboot -
Ya yesterday I googled this and found some said make a file called .nomedia in the folder and others said to put a . in the folder name so I did both and it didn't work, but then I reboot the TF and then it worked so not sure which one actually did it or if both did.
.nomedia does work. The thing is the media scan only run when you rebooted. I think DevTools or SpareParts (don't have my TF with me right now) has an option to force a media scan so youdon't need to reboot.
I have a similar question, but it might be different case though.
Anyway, I have a lot music folder containing mp3 songs and in each folder there is a file called folder.jpg. I created those folder.jpg files manually to assign each music folder a cover picture. They are all shown up properly in the Music player.
(I had this for long time already for my Windows phone, Android phone, Windows PCs).
The problem I have is that, those folder.jpg files are also shown in the Gallery (for Pictures) and I do not know how to exclude/hide those folder.jpg files from the Gallery.
Any clue will be appreciated.
Spawned a good idea. Given .nomedia is supported, the android devs should expand the idea to help you solve your problem. Something like .nophotos in any music folder you don't want photos to be noticed in, and .nomusic, .novideos, .nodocuments, etc..?
When you say reboot, do you mean power off/on? I use Quickpic to browse photos since it doesn't include album art, but I like the default pic viewer and would like it exclude album art as well. I added the *.nomedia to my /music directory and it still shows album art.
Try changing the name of file from folder.jpg to albumart.jpg. It worked on Android 2.x
So in CM9's dev tools under media provider there is a button called insert 20 albums. I innocently hit it trying to see what it did. As expected it made 20 fake albums on my device. However I can't find a way to remove these. Others have said that when they reboot they're gone, but mine stick around. I can't find any files with these names on my device. I also tried adding 20 new ones and rebooting to see if it was just a glitch and they would go away after that, so now I have 40 fake albums on my device. Does anyone know how to get rid of them?
I don't know how that feature works, but have you already tried clearing music app data?
yeah sorry I should have mentioned that. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the player even.
I don't mean to be rude, but I'mbumping this in hopes that someone smarter than me can find it
After posting I decided to try my luck again. I found the media provider databases internal.db and external.db in /data/data/com.android.providers.media/databases
after poking around in them I found reference to the fake albums in the external.db they seem to reference some bogey url instead of a file, so I just deleted the external.db and rebooted. It appears to have repopulated with normal settings afterwards.
Here the case is old, but as still same case here with me. By the way, Thanks for helping!
