The main feature of this HTC Sense 2.1 Rom is the stable Data2SD that is built in
In case you didnt already know, the Desire's Internal memory is severely limited (A maximum of 147 MB. Within no time, you will be asked to remove your favoite apps to clear space. Earlier implementations like A2SD, App2SD+ are all imperfect, and everything will never be moved. Even MTD partitions are limited.
With Data2SD, you decide the amount of Internal memory you want!
As a side effect, you get faster I/O too, since Sd is faster than Nand. the real world performance depends on the Class of your card. The faster the better!
This rom is based on Sibere’s Data2sd scripts, which with the latest ext4 based script, is arguably one of the best of the lot. Other than this, the Rom has been kept stock-like. It is for those who want the HTC Sense Rom, but are tired of the low disk space warnings thrown at them!
Contrary to prior Data2SD scripts which were infamous for their boot loops and force closes, this latest script has been rigorously tested and developed into a stable product by Sibere. To date, I havent had a single force close or boot loop yet on this Data2SD configuration
I know there are a lot of Stock rooted roms out there, but this one supports Data2Sd best, mostly because it’s been built for the sole purpose of giving a problem free Data2sd experience.

Installation
If you had changed your Hboot from Stock to any other type, you will need to reset it to Stock Hboot by following instructions on the Alpharev site
Wipe data/Factory reset from Recovery (CWM/Ra)
Partition your card into 2 partitions (only two) with Gparted (The performance may be compromised with other partitioning schema)
The First should be Fat32
The Second should be ext4 (can also be ext2/3 but will be converted to ext4). The maximum limit for size of ext4 is 2Gb.
Install the Rom zip
Boot once.
At this boot, do NOT enter your Google account details. Also do not install any app, or restore any app.
Once system stabilizes, hit the Power button to reboot to recovery
Now install the Data2SD installer and reboot from recovery
This boot will be very long, and the system will also take a long time to show the desktop
Re-Installation (Reflashing the Rom)
Note that reflashing the Rom alone overwrites the Data2SD script, so whenever you flash the Rom (for any reason like theme revertion etc), do not forget to flash the Data2sd reinstaller (not Installer) immediately after Rom flash without a reboot in between (Note the difference betweem installation and reinstallation!)
Check your SD storage at this point. You should have vastly enhanced storage which equals your ext4 size

Any particular reason for the ext4 2GB size limit? Is this a hard limit or just an arbitrary one?
My card currently has a 3.3GB ext4 - will it work or will I have to resize?

The script is very stable on most cards upto an ext4 of 2 Gb. In tests, Sibere noted instability above 2 Gb, hence the limit. You can try though, as it's not a hard limit. But if you have force closes, set it back

Can restore app data after removing anything with the name htc in it. Not system apps though

Notes: *Read this part!!
The ext partition should not be bigger then 2.0GB, bigger can cause problems with market.
RCS Touch v2.1 D2WE uses melethrons data2whatever script v0.2e, it needs one extra partition in any format the kernel is supporting. Kernel in RCS Touch support ext2/3/4.
RCS Touch v07 D2EXT uses ownheres data2ext v8.2 script, recommended partition layout is:
Fat + 1GB Ext4 + 0.3GB Ext4 + 0.1GB Swap
The first boot takes long time due the data2ext setup process, it stays on the first splash screen (why so serious or htc) for couple of minutes, stay calm
Overclock with SetCpu, Overclock widget seems not working... at least for me
There may be some slowdowns at the begining due the rom is restoring and syncing all apks and settings.
If you have problems installing the rom, try to repartition your sd card, make a full wipe and try to install it again.
Restoring a titanium backup may cause some FC, use with caution.

Included Smartass governor, thanx erasmux for that hi man! SD read fix, thx frankoid and Lzma, thx snq-.
Lzma means smaller boot.img, should help with the write boot.img issue.
Now the kernel is capable to go up to 1305MHz for real (thanks snq- for pointing out previous bug). Previous roms showed 1305.6 but was in fact just 1113 MHz.
So be cautious when overclocking, my device is stable up to 1190(~1800 quadrant), over that it hangs or reboots.

The RCMixHD v0.15 D2EXT uses ownheres data2ext v8.5 script, recommended partition layout is:
Fat + 1GB Ext4 + 0.3GB Ext4 + 0.1GB Swap
The first boot takes long time due the data2ext setup process, it stays on the first splash screen (why so serious or htc) for couple of minutes, stay calm
If some sites which uses flash is closing for you, simply download and install flash player 10 from market.
Overclock with SetCpu, Overclock widget seems not working... at least for me
Be cautious when overclocking, do it always with small steps!
There may be some slowdowns at the begining due the rom is restoring and syncing all apks and settings.
If you have problems installing the rom, try to repartition your sd card, make a full wipe and try to install it again.
Restoring a titanium backup may cause some FC, use with caution. (not tested on the v04 yet)
Known bugs:
Some streaming media just plays audio :/ any idea?
Throttling patch can cause FC in network settings, do your changes before flashing that patch.
This is not really bug of the rom it self, just the patch, but i thought it is good to point that out here

Lzma means smaller boot.img, should help with the write boot.img issue.
Now the kernel is capable to go up to 1305MHz for real (thanks snq- for pointing out previous bug). Previous roms showed 1305.6 but was in fact just 1113 MHz.
So be cautious when overclocking, my device is stable up to 1190(~1800 quadrant), over that it hangs or reboots.

The main feature of this pure HTC Sense Rom is the stable Data2SD that is built in
In case you didnt already know, the Desire's Internal memory is severely limited (A maximum of 147 MB. Within no time, you will be asked to remove your favoite apps to clear space. Earlier implementations like A2SD, App2SD+ are all imperfect, and everything will never be moved. Even MTD partitions are limited.
With Data2SD, you decide the amount of Internal memory you want!
As a side effect, you get faster I/O too, since Sd is faster than Nand. the real world performance depends on the Class of your card. The faster the better!
This rom is based on Sibere’s Data2sd scripts, which with the latest ext4 based script, is arguably one of the best of the lot. Other than this, the Rom has been kept stock, with the base rom 2.29.405.5. It is for those who want the HTC Sense Rom, but are tired of the low disk space warnings thrown at them! Of course, important mods like the Restart menu, Supercircle battery mod (@UOT) etc are available.
Contrary to prior Data2SD scripts which were infamous for their boot loops and force closes, this latest script has been rigorously tested and developed into a stable product by Sibere. To date, I havent had a single force close or boot loop yet on this Data2SD configuration
I know there are a lot of Stock rooted roms out there, but this one supports Data2Sd best, mostly because it’s been built for the sole purpose of giving a problem free Data2sd experience.

This is just one of the mods. Visit the UOT Kitchen to make your own. Since the Rom is fully supported by the kitchen, just choose StarBurst from the dropdown list after selecting your customizations. Note that changing the framework may cause problems between other mods, or system package installations. To revert, just flash the Rom followed by the Data2SD Reinstaller without a reboot.

I havent included any theme in this Rom because I dont believe in radically modifying the looks of a Rom until it may be unpleasant to some. A lot of themes are available for Sense, if you look in the Theming section of XDA. Most are flashable directly. Also,being a fully deodexed rom, theming/moding is easily done
Additional Kernels
Statutory Warning: Using any custom kernel may cause reboots of the phone without warning. If reboot occurs on a Data2SD based configuration, there may be potential loss of Data with permanent boot loops (which may be fixable only by a Nandroid restore to a working configuration/complete reinstall). So do a complete Nandroid backup before any kernel modification/flashing or changing your CPU frequencies.
Installation of Kernels
This is similiar to flashing a Rom through Recovery. Just install the Rom and Data2SD patcher before flashing the kernel zip. Undervolted kernels usually provide better battery life. But if you undervolt/overclock too much, your phone might become unstable and reboot. This can potentially cause Data2SD damage and bootloops may result. So, take Nandroid and monitor system stability. If it becomes unstable, always revert back. Please don't post bug reports in the thread if you use a different kernel than what is included in StarBurst by default. If you do mention a bootloop, take care to mention what kernel you were using.

About other mods
Note that this Rom already includes most kernel mods needed for performance/battery. If you still like some other mods published for the stock rom, drop a post in the thread. Advanced theming for the mod can be done in the UOT Kitchen.
I didn’t want users to worry about installing other mods, and wanted a No-Nonsense installation (pun intended ). Install the base rom and the data2sd installer. That’s all you need! And you get everything that other roms provide.
About Installing other Kernels
Most kernels which support Stock Sense 2.29.405 should work on this. Work with your kernel dev and see if it supports 2.29.405.

Yes it is real
This is Data2SD...Much better than A2SD..It will move everything to the sdcard!
And you can go upto 2Gb for Internal memory..Not that you need it though!

Battery life is as good as Leedroid, since it shares the Leedroid kernel. I havent tested battery life though, since checking my roms continuously by flashing means my phone is a glutton for power.
So far, no bugs..I've tested it a lot..Still, the instructions have to be followed as per OP. If you just install the second file right after flashing the base rom without booting into the system once, it will loop. Also like any Data2Sd setup, pulling battery "may" cause boot loops..I havent had any so far though

I've been using Sibere's scripts for a long time now..But till yesterday there was no flashable zip for his script..Yesterday I made one, and this became possible

Gparted is the easiest. Just download the Gparted iso, burn it to a cd, and reboot your pc to run it..

Q: What is A2SD+
A:
A2SD+ Moves your apps & Dalvik cahcheto a hidden EXT partition on your MicroSD
You will be required to format you SD card with 2 partitions as laid out below
How do i set up my MicroSD ready for A2SD+
A:
Backup all data on you SD card (this will be Formatted)
The card should be formatted with your standard FAT32 partition 1st followed by an EXT3 partition (I would recommend a minimum 512mb)
Linux users use GParted or a similar software.
For everyone else I would recommend using Rom Manager or CWM
Once you have downloaded ROM manager from the market, open the app and click partition SD Card, Select your EXT size and set 0mb for swap
Restore your data to your SD.
Flash the A2SD+ Patch
Boot << Please be aware, 1st boot may take a while depending on how many apps you have installed.

It's a new OS, and build, froyo kernels wont work, and were along way off the release of the current kernel source

Not currently compatable, the gingerbread kernel is 2.6.35.10, there are a few bits need backporting.. unfortunatley we may be waiting (as usual) a while for the source from HTC
