Battery draining instead of charging. - Samsung Mesmerize

I have it plugged in via usb in my car and instead of charging it is draining? It was charging fine in the car on wednesday. After 30 minutes of me not using it and plugged in it has lost 10%..

Sounds like the usb plug may not be putting out enough juice to charge. Does it charge fine when on the home charger or PCs USB port?

Heinz 57? Turn off the phone and charge it with it off for 15-30. I have that problem too with Heinz and the newer versions

How do you charge your phone?

Hey guys,
Been wondering how everyone else charges their phones. I've always used my usb charger and only used the car charger when necessary.

I do the battery calibration from the other thread about once a week. For everyday charging I just charge when low. So far my battery last pretty long.some days longer then others.
I usually just plug it in

Just the usual. Plug it into the standard micro USB the phone came with. Calibrate every time I update my ROM(since Humble comes with a battery calibrate app, makes it very easy).
at home i use the USB charger that came with the Charge. at work i use a micro usb charger that came with a palm pixi or a bluetooth headset that used micro usb to charge. I tried using a microusb cable plugged into my work computer, but that triggers the usb storage mode, which stops my podcast player. I've also noticed some universal usb chargers trigger the USB storage mode.
In the car I have the Charge car dock. I use a mini usb charger for a garmin gps with a mini to micro usb adapter with it. If I plug that directly into the Charge, it triggers the Desktop dock mode, rather than car dock mode.

Bahaha. Here, I use my Galaxy Tab charger. Goes a lot faster because of the higher amperage, plus I don't need to charge my Tab very often.

Charging while using gps :(

Before I got this charge I ran nothing but HTC phones on tmobile. while being plugged into car charger and using gps the battery level goes down fast. It doesn't maintain the charge or add to it while navigating. Is this a samsung thing? Any remedies?

That cannot be right. Make sure your car charger, when it charges your phone, is pulling AC instead of USB.
GPS uses very little juice. Just get the 950ma Motorola charger from Amazon for 5 bucks. Something is messed up if your phone doesn't charge

Mine doesn't discharge, but it doesn't charge hardly at all. I'm using the Verizon dual port charger (the one that has a USB port on it as well as the standard charging end)

I use a Monoprice 2A USB charger with an OEM USB cable. Charges extremely slowly or just stays level, but never drains.

With GPS on, you barely Charge with that charger? I know its limited by the kernel at 800mA or so, but damn, that should charge you up fine.
I rock GPS in the car all the time and I still Charge pretty quickly...

All depends on what you're running at that time-4G, cell and GPS reception, etc.

Make sure you are using a high amp charger. I like the one from Motorola.
Even so, with 4g and the screen on - the phone charges slowly. Turn the screen off and it charges much quicker.

[Q] Portable hotspot kills battery

OK the title probably leaves you thinking "no sh*t, Sherlock!" Hear me out... I plug the phone into the AC adapter and then plug it into a wall outlet. After that I switch on the portable hotspot.
I'm OK for hours but eventually the charge in the battery dies. Seeing as the phone has been plugged into the wall the entire time I am left wondering what foul, black magic could be responsible for this anomaly. The fact that the battery goes dead even though it's plugged into a wall outlet baffles me. Is this normal? Could it be that the battery is dying faster than it can charge?

Normal? It depends on how much you're using as far as bandwidth. If you're downloading an 8Gb file over some hours, that will eat your battery even if you're plugged in.

setcpu
Have you tried setcpu profiles to underclock when screen is off? Im able to get a couple hours of tethering unplugged.
Normal, unless the AC adapter isn't supplying enough Amps/Volts. I know using a Samsung adaptor from my Vibrant doesn't supply enough, and discharges if I use it while plugged in.

You're not getting enough amps into your phone. Get at least a 1 amp charger.

If your devices / ROM supports it Bluetooth Tethering uses less power then Wifi, but is is a little slower.

I think my battery's screwed up

Hey guys. I didn't use my note for a week or so and it's battery fully drained. When I tried charging it using the wall charger the screen would turn on give that charging indicator for about 4 seconds and then the screen would turn off and then would. repeat the whole process. I kept it plugged in for about two hours, removed the charger booted up the note and found out it charged only 10%. So I plugged in the wall charger again, and I noticed an x symbol over the battery indicator on the note 10.1. After this I tried using my OTG devices on the note also but even they wouldn't be recognized. Has anyone else encountered suck a problem. Is there any solution?

Wireless charging question

So I have a USB cable that lights up only when device is charging. It turns off the led light when the device is charged...
I'm using the same cable and USB adapter on my wireless charger.
Now at night my cable stays lit up always even when fully charged. It doesn't turn off anymore. So they're is constantly a charge going to it.
When I pick it up its warm. Not hot. No complaints. But is it safe for the battery to constantly get juice even if its 'charged' and can't get anymoee

Yes it is, there's a charge controller by Texas instruments that regulates the charging current
i know what cable you're talking about its those LED flowing cables i have one, anyways the wireless charging puck or dock always draws power while the phone may not its tickle charging as in keeping it at 100% its not overcharging it its topping it off
its 100% completely safe.
