random reboots - HTC Sensation

just wondering if people who are getting these are getting a prompt from HTC when phone reboots to report it to them , ive had the reboots before but they stopped when i deleted some apps , i got one today after installing a few more apps from market and when phone rebooted the prompt came up ,never happened before on the other reboots

happened to me twice today

Happened once a day on my first unit, swapped and this unit hasn't happened since, plus the power button/wake lock key is perfect on this one =)

I got the phone yesterday, and without getting any istallations from the market, phone would reboot itself after every 1 to 2 minutes.
Every time I would get the option to report it to HTC (this phone has just recovered from abnormal reset - or along those lines), but I will definitevely return it - a bit too much money for the issue from the start.

I reboot manually daily.
Longest uptime I've had is 30hours. I then rebooted it myself because I had uninstalled a bunch of T-Mo apps. Since then it's been up now 17hrs without a hitch.
I reboot mine once a day manually.
I did have 1 random reboot the other day when answering a call though.
I show 51.36.15 right now. I manually rebooted once since I got the phone looking for where to put in my SD card. Otherwise, all good so far.
As of this post i'm at 68:01 but I did reboot because my battery was draining kinda fast and I just wanted to reboot the device to see if it would affect it in any way.
My friend is on his 2nd G2x (because of the reboot) and his new one rebooted when we were at the movies (the same day i rebooted mine)
knock on wood that my unit is fine.
I haven't had a single reboot til today. none all week.
Now I've had 4 in a row. All while trying to update apps in the market. I had about 15 to update.. It has rebooted 4 times on me.. LAME!
I have no reboot's and current up time 93:05:45.
have wifi working. and battery last most of the day with 2-3 hours music while at work phone calls web surfing, just exporing the phone most of the time. bluetooth currenlty on all day conected to my headset.
have you updated any large apps in the market.
I've now had 5 reboots all in under about 15 minutes on my G2x.. it is stock, rooted. All while in the market, all while trying to update a few larger apps. Hm, something is wrong that is for sure.

A few questions:
1) Are you rooted?
2) Did you use the patch?
3) Have you done a factory reset?
4) Have you altered the *#*#4636#*#* and/or network settings?
Thanks!
Only had my replacement phone since monday. No reboots yet. Never had one on the one before either.

I had no reboots on my first phone either..
you guys without issues, have you updated multiple apps from market?
No reboots here.
Rooted with ClockWorkMod. Last boot for deoxt patch.
26:37:45
48:50:29 for me never had a reboot. I was having the phone shut off while charging overnight, but took off my speck candyshell and it seems to be fixed. I assume the problem was shutdown to prevent overheating. I am not rooted yet and i did a factory reset when i first got the phone because the tmobile rep skipped the settup. I hope this helps

Uptime is 122 hours 10 minutes. Have had zero problems out of the box.
No root, no factory resets, no messing with anything. Out of the box stock.
I love this phone!

This phone has a serious problem. (Hang n dead)

As others have opened the same thread, a lot of people's desire S have hanged and died. Mine included.
2 weeks ago it hanged while I was updating in the market. The screen was dead for like 10 minutes, so I pulled the battery out. Next, it wouldn't turn on pass the HTC screen, and in recovery you couldn't do anything either. Factory reset doesn't work, so i was screwed.
I send it back to HTC, and it was back in 2 days with a new motherboard.
Good, so everything goes well for this week, and 30 minutes ago, the market showed it has new updates. So i clicked update all. Guess what happens.. HANGED AGAIN. Then when I rebooted the phone, it got stuck at HTC white screen AGAIN. No matter how many times you reboot, it will be stuck at that screen.
I was seriously so frustrated I wanted to throw it agaisnt the ball.
I went into recovery mode, at first it gave me all errors. The red triangle with exclamation showed up. I thought, crap, I was going to be without my phone for another week again.
Finally after trying recovery n rebooting like 20 times.. it worked.. i was in tears when I heard the htc booting sound..
but this is a serious problem. Updating apps is a normal phone function, and it should not do hang. My phone was not even rooted or s-off. When it died I was seriously thinking of shouting at the HTC staff and asking them to give me an incredible or smth.
It's quite frightening how often this has happened now
Did you have fast boot enabled?
although considering that this was very nealy the second time that this happened to you, I'd try to get a replacement device (another ds) and not a fixed one
Good luck

Random Restarts after Update

Hey guys
My device is GS6, few days ago received OTA update. Updated phone like usual and all went fine. Few days later started noticing that device randomly restarting. Today it happened 4 or 5 times so far, mainly when I want to unlock screen, after swipe everything freezes and device restarts.
Also when I left phone on charge, come back to it, unplugged charger and phone is dead, won't start won't respond to anything. After pressing volume key power and home button, I managed to restart it.
What is happening to my phone. Really don't want hard reset it as all settings etc will be gone.

Yesterday phone froze and restated few times, it came to stage when it wouldn't boot past Samsung logo. After numerous attempts to start it , it started.
Now I have number 6 above one of home screen folders, just appeared from nowhere. Can't remove it.

Try a factory reset, maybe same app is the problem.
Done full reset and its much worse now. It woudnt boot correctly after reset, phone started up but during set up process froze and restarted a lot of times. Looks like hardware, but strange it happened straight after ota update

Restarting & Recording Issues

I have a SGH-I727R the Canadian variant of the SGH-I727 (the are exactly the same). I installed CM 12.1 Unofficial on it one month and everything is working fine except for 2 things:
1. I can't record any videos, I have another skyrocket and it is running the same ROM and I'm not having this issue with it, so I'm wondering if this is the phone's issue or ROM's issue?
2. The phone restarts throughout the day. When I was in stock the phone restarted 2-3 times a day and I wasn't bothered and when I first flashed CM 12.1 the same thing happened. But today the phone got stuck so I held the power button and restarted it, but then every 2-5 minutes it restarted (it did this 5-7 times) then it stopped after a while when I plugged it into the charger. And when the phone restarts randomly, the boot animation doesn't appear only a black screen and then I have to hold the power button and restart it myself. I'm wondering if I can fix this issue as its starting to bother me?

Constantly rebooting

For about 5 months my phone will randomly restart. It doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason as to what app I'm using when it does it. It started just once in a while, then a few times a week, to every day and then multiple times a day. About 3 months ago I cleared the cache as my first "fix." Didn't work. About 1.5 months ago, I hard reset my phone, but restored my settings. I thought that worked, but less than a week later, the rebooting started again. So then last Thurs, I hard reset and did NOT restore any settings and basically set my phone up from scratch. the next day, my phone reboot, and every day since and today when I woke up my phone on the charger was off and wouldn't turn on (with 100% battery on the screen) until I essentially "soft reset" it. It has since rebooted 2 more times today.
I have a lot of apps on my phone, many that aren't used regularly. Booting into safe mode is the last suggestion ATT had but how in the hell do I figure out what is causing the problem??? Also, has anyone else had this issue and waht was the reason and solution?
