[Q] Is the upcoming LG Thrill the ATT version of the Optimus 3G? - LG Optimus 3D

most released specs look right, but ...
(I don't trust the carriers that much)

Yes, the Thrill is the US version of the Optimus3D.

Hell yeah.

Please help

I previously had a Vibrant, and loved it. Unfortunately I had a pretty intense water accident with it (sat in a jacuzzi for 10 min before realizing it was in my pocket). I am eligible for an upgrade and am torn on phones. I have to get a phone by the 25th, so I can't wait for the Hercules, so I'm wondering, should I look at the Sensation, SGS4G or G2X?
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
I would get a Sensation 4G. G2X has to many problems, and the SGS4G is kinda dated.
Sensation. Easily the best choice. Dual core, 768mb RAM, great looks, reasonable battery life, great overclock.
G2x. All of em are good now!

I am really torn... know they are all great phones... the SGS4G has an amazing screen, the G2X has stock AOSP so no need to root, but the Sensation has the rocking hardware and great screen size....

g2x = problems, problems
Lg can't make a phone to save themselves. I've said many a time they should just stick to tvs.
G2x is awesome on paper but as stated above is very buggy.

G2X = problem child.
SGS2 = cute specs but its built like a Chinese stapler.
Sensation for sure. Yes this is a bias opinion.

The Sensation is the phone you are looking for.

Hahaha thank you Master Jimmah. Actually I'm kind of leaning toward the Sensation, mostly for the screen size. Not sure about the locked bootloader, though.

Not just screen size. A higher resolution than most. Being rooted is exploding atm, new **** everyday. Htc can make a phone, that's for sure.

G2X is not a bad phone--the hardware is definitely not lacking and it's running near-vanilla android! BUT the software's been known to be plagued with crippling bugs. If you know you're going to be flashing over CM7 or some other ROM, then G2X wouldn't be a bad choice.
Sensation is overall more stable and better built, but perhaps not as zippy (unless you again flash custom ROMs)
Check out anandtech's review on G2X
Wait for the GSII.

update: I'm getting the sensation this friday and t mobile is giving me 30 days to switch out for the hercules if the hercules releases in time... I will just have to pay the difference in price & 50 dollar restocking fee... if I like the sensation, I will instead just keep it tho...

You wont be disappointed with your decision. I would've waited for the Hercules too but couldn't wait and not sure the rumors were true.(got phone last month) hopefully cm7 will be released sometime soon

Lol that's really bad timing. They say the HTC Ruby will also be released on that same day and will outspec the sensation with a 1.5 ghz dual core. That could have been an option as well.

the ruby is an oversized tampon in my honest and humble opinion.
uses same processor as sensation (just not undervoltaged) and got 256 megs more RAM (which is nice) + its fat and white...

LG Thrill 3D forums???

Will there be a seperate forum once the US varient is launched or since the Optimistic and Thrill are completely identical will it all just remain here?
Sent from my Dell Streak using xda premium
As Thrill is just a name change I'm guessing they will keep it all here.
As the radio frequency and radio files are probably different I would think it would be a good idea to have separate forums as they do with the lg g2x vs lg optimus 2x

Nope. Same radio and frequency.
From LG USA about the P925:
Frequency
Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE; 850/900/1800/1900 MHz; Tri-band UMTS/HSPA+; 850/1900/2100 MHz

What's strange is my LGP920 is different
Has 900/1700/1900/2100 =/
Can run on T-Mobile USA's 3G network.
I think they'll just keep to the same forum. Not much will be changed anyway. Mine is different, but everything works the same
All I know is they have way too any models. P920, p920h, p925 and p929 and all of them have different frequency combos. So by u calling them the same are u reffering to a p925 and thrill. Or all the models.

[Q] What Sprint phone should upgrade to?

I'm still sporting my original HTC Hero (Cyanogenmod 7) rooted etc etc etc...
I was seriously wanting to upgrade to the EVO 3D but some more devices have shown up lately, as of today also.
Thoughts on what I should get? I want power, I tether ALOT so that is a factor. I'll be rooting etc.
Anything other than the EVO 3D I should consider?
Don't get the evo, get the nexus s 4g. I left the evo for this phone. Best decision I've ever made this phone has more developers, no bloatware, faster, smoother, sleeker, more updates. Do not miss my evo aat all.

Correct, but sense takes up so much RAM, it makes the phone super sketchy. My friend has the 3D and when he speant the weekend with me all weekend he was saying how mine was faster, he liked the super amoled screen, just get it trust me.

buy Samsung Galaxy S
I have the first Samsung Galaxy S i9000m and I put Miui ICS on it. Blows my mind how much faster and nicer my 2 year old phone runs and looks.
Okay if u r in india then There is a tab called micromax funbook which runs on ICS and costs just RS 7500. Heard that u have a galaxy r(you can install custom ICS rom in it and if u wait it will get a ics stock rom update).Other then that there is no phone in india that runs ics on a phone costing less than RS 10000!!

[Q] 03D vs Thrill?

I know the LG Thrill (p925) and LG Optimus 3D (p920) are fairly interchangeable, but to what extent? Do they have the exact same hardware? I've never had any trouble flashing 03D KDZ files on my Thrill, and everything for the 03D seems to work fine for me.
Sorry for cross-polinating between phone forums, but I figured the O3d crowd might know more since it's been around longer.
It's the same exact phone. Literally.

The only differences are with network stuff...
Like if you flash o3d stuff on to your thrill and you have att or something. Your data speeds may vary and stuff like that... that's all
I never get as fast data speeds when I flash a european based o3d rom on my att thrill

Yeah. Flash V20P on it, and it'll work. Minus the fact that no one with an O3D has AT&T.

Well its not like they need it. Most 3G speeds in Europe blow h+ out of the water
