How to increase font size in sensation? - HTC Sensation

I'm wondering how to increase the font size in the phone.. the screen size way to big... But the default font size is to small even. Compare to my friend wildfire...

Amen! Font size is a joke. You need a magnifying glass to read a text you are sending. I'm looking for options too before I return.

There should be options in all the apps (Gmail, Email, Browser, Messages, etc) to make the font bigger. Most all apps have this option.

Agree the font is minimalistic for this vibrant large screen...we need a global setting! At it some apps can be enlarged...

Download spare parts change font size near the bottom!

Can you please tell me where you download 'spare parts' from the bottom of where?

Spare Parts is found on the marketplace. It is free. There are two versions, doesn't matter which you get.
Also, in the text messaging app, you can pinch to zoom to get smaller or larger text. Not sure if stock can do this as I run Insert Coin.

The pinch to zoom in text is a 3.5 feature, so regardless of Rom, as long as its 3.5 based

i GOT IT~! its working in ARHD 3.6.8 ROM.. Nice..

You can also increase the lcd density in the build.prop This will make everything a bigger. I'm currently using 255 instead of 240.

I've tried with spare parts but it dosent work, when I change font size from regular to large it changes back to regular automatically.
Anyone know why this is happening? Or is there any other apps? I really hate the original font size.

you gotta wait for fre3dom to use LCD density, or dont reboot with temp root and hope the spare parts settings stick...
either way, get used to it, or have patience, its not gonna change anytime soon

Im using spareparts plus. And it works decent. Yes it will revert on reboot. But I just open the app back up and just choose large for the font and then back out of the app. Sense will take about 3 to 5 seconds to adjust. Afterwards the font will be large. Also I turn off the auto rotation in display settings because if you rotate the phone while spareparts plus is activated it will revert back to stock. But I keep a short cut to spareparts plus and display settings on my home screen to make it a little easier. You can find the app on the android market "spareparts plus" Also it has no ads and is a decent work around until root. Well hope this helps.

HTC Sense contact resolution - why so low?

Anyone know how to get the resolution higher on the contact pictures especially in the favorite's widget.
Sent from my LeeDroid HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
The best way I've found is to take a picture (like you normally would) and then go into "People" and edit the contact, manually choosing the picture. I just tried it and the image was much clearer and not pixelated.

Font Size on SMS/MMS Issue

Have you guys had an issue with the font size when texting?
Whenever I set my font size to small, I run into the issue where the text randomly reverts back to the default medium font size. This is becoming very frustrating and I cannot find an alternative way, outside of always going to the menu changing the font size for the particular conversation and repeating whenever the issue arises again.
Pinch and zoom the text. Not sure how to set a permanent size.

There's already a thread on this, but yes, mine is doing it too

Sms text

Does anyone have a problem where the text in the sms windows get really small? It just seems to happen out of no where and randomly.

It's not an issue I don't think. It's just like pinch to zoom so you can change font size

cool I didn't know that. Thanks.

This happens to me actually. I'll go into the texting app and see that the text has turned small.

Don't agree, sorry. You can pinch to zoom to change the font size of the text bubbles, yes. But after the text has become small, if I use the pinch to zoom function to make everything bigger to the original normal size, after sending a few texts, the text will suddenly become super fat. Then I have to re-pinch/zoom back the big font down to a smaller size.
So... something is not right somewhere.
Mhm, it's a glitch, it was talked about before with no solution..
I had that issue but I just used titanium backup to restore messaging app plus data. That is if you have it backed up. If not go grab a messaging apk and that should fix your issue (hopefully more than temporarily)

SMS/MMS Preference?

I don't really want to start a war of the texting world. But what are your preferences for texting apps and why?
Hand cent, GO, etc.
Thanks all. Just want friendly discussion.

hate em all. only one I like is the stock android one. i do use handcent, but only for the emoji. if the stock sms app got an addon for that I would switch back in a heartbeat.

AOKP has a stock ICS SMS app that has Emoji. I love it.

Although it has a large footprint like Handcent, GoSMS is terrific for a lot of reasons. First, it has two plugin downloads for emoticons/Emojis. It comes with standard happy/sad/confused faces, but one plugin adds elaborate faces, symbols and icons (probably close to 300) and are much more detailed. The second plugin adds something like large vector art.
And some may be asking "how can my recipient get these things in their messages if they are not supported--or if one of these items turns the message into an MMS?
Well that's the most nifty thing about it. It had a service that is linked to the app which routes it around their servers and straight to your recipient as a data-based MMS. In other words, even if you cannot typically send MMS because your APN is wrong or whatever, this app makes sure your texts get through...essentially it's an SMS-over-IP service. Plus, your recipient does not need to have it installed.
Lastly GoSMS can be infinitely skinned. I am not sure what Handcent can do, but I use images for the background of my conversations list and my actual conversion (which can be customized for each recipient). It also scans all other apps for any fonts it can use, and offers them to be used as part of the UI..

I prefer GoSMS. I don't like the stock sms client and originally used Handcent until it started force closing all the time. If this had not start happening, I would probably still use handcent. GoSMS is highly customizable which I like.
I'm using the inverted AOSP Stuff out of this forum from he_stheone64. Because it's look very smart and clean for me and it's much easier to handle than this htc sense stuff..
thats my opinion why I had chosen them.

mmry
