MIUI MUSIC PLAYER
Just used the miui music player for the first time and .. i like alot..
love the lyrics and the genaral look of the player very easy to use just not as many features as power amp, still this is going to be my perminant player from now on.
Anyone else no any good music players that made you swap from your old favoriute.
also pro's and cons of them.
Miui Pro's:
Lryic's are awesome on there and scroll perfect with every song so far.
Easy to use and looks great.
Sleep Time (not sure if works as not used it but sure it will )
Shake to Skip (toggle on/off)
allow to filter music files (min. size)
Miui Con's:Cant seem to find no equlisser
wrong album art on some tracks (funny though)
sometimes splits albums into 5-6 diffrent albums with only few tracks in
Battery life but got to be expected with lyrics on and album art
8/10

PAMP is the best for ever
Cheers,
SX

PowerAMP is the best for me, until we get GB. Because official Gingerbread musicplayer for x10 will have equalizer!! My bass in my ears is deadly with PAMP and DSBManager!

+1, i can't help but think PowerAmp will still be the best on GB, the equaliser should work independent of the GB settings as it does with 2.1, and we will still be able to use DSP i think!!
PAMP, Sony MDR xd200 head phones. perfect combo!!

MIUI music player is not working on original x10 Rom
Even you use root xplorer it say this folder is read only
Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App

For me, the best player far away is Mixzing : 4x4 widget, impressive EQ, accurate album art, smooth, fast!
But...I love Ubermusic : the design, it finds all backgrounds, it's stable, fast and smooth and with DSPmanager you can get descent bass...and it's DAMN SEXY

flash a miui rom cob's the best rom so far

For features I always liked Poweramp but the sound quality is quite noticeably better using MIUI player. Has no one else noticed this? I really can't use anything other than MIUI player now as all other players sound like garbage compared to it.

Playerpro
I use playerpro, simple and it has folder filter
http://mobileplanet-waryam.blogspot.com/2011/04/playerpro-v203-advance-music-player.html

PAMP is good but if you have not tried ubermusic

Ttpod
Ttpod I find is the best yet that I have found. Sounds awesome with headphones or connected to a stereo system.
There is Neutron which has the best, clearest sound (audiophile quality) but the interface is atrocious. Very slow and unresponsive.
Ttpod sounds pretty much just as good (sounds audiophile quality too) but is real nice to use and look at.
Then Poweramp (fantastic all round rounder) and then WinAMP. MiUi looks and works well but sounds a little blurry/muffled to me.
I say give Ttpod a try, you'll probably like it, though it does have a little Chinese characters in it.

+1 on that one,
i always rated poweramp but since trying playerpro this is better, differant skins to match themes and transparent widgets and lockscreens, the equalizer seems more user friendly and sound quality is awsome.

Ubermusic ALPHA (Not the hideous Beta)+DSPManager
Works perfectly

i use Player Pro, and now i'm trying UberMusic, but the best for me is Player Pro

For some reason it seems it only can be downloaded from warez sites atm but since it's a beta I don't know if it would be against the rules to post it here???
I'm absolutely loving this app. Thanks OP!

These are a few gripes I have with the app, the first one being the most important:
When going through the library of artists, once you pick an artist you are taken to all songs by the artist and not to a list of the albums by the artist. Sometimes when pressing the back button, the app closes to the homescreen instead of showing the previous screen. If you're playing a song and are browsing your playlist, album list, etc. there's no quick way to return to the player screen that shows the current song that's playing.

I agree, that's a biggie.
I just upload a video of the app to youtube. It is my first video so dont expect pro stuff Just a video of fingering around with PowerAmp
Thanks for the great video, I learnt a few new things from it
This is definitely the best audio player I've seen on any mobile device, PERIOD!
this is really nice! TFS!
Although the widget could be better..and the home screen of the app could be made simpler but overall this is nice...
definitely nice to have SD folder view!
I winder how it would par with MixZing
Trying it out right now so far loving it good looking out great media player
Sent from my FroyoEris using XDA App
I picked this up and I really like it so far. The ui is great even though there are a few oddities still. When selecting an mp3 from Astro it goes to the player but it doesn't play the file I just selected...the player comes up with the last song that was being played. Still messing with it though and it looks great so far.
i think one feature that would make this a killer music player... that if its possible to restrict musics off one folder (eg. "Music") in the root of SD... this way i dont have to listen to machine gun and other android game sound fx on my media player... veryyy annoying..!!!!

This app works on ARMv6/ARMv7.
But the ARMv6 performance is low because of CPU(528MHz).(ex. wildfire, hero ,etc.)

And try to always post the apk link as many of us don't have access to the market.
I for instance have H1droid in Samsung H1 i8320 and unfortunately no 3g signal and no wifi.

It is not working with Gingerbread yet.
Check back on the Market for when the Dev updates to 2.3 Compatible.
Few things that comes into my mind:
Two of the best ones I consider is rockplayer and vplayer. Here's a few feedback:
1) In terms of speed/playing file types , at least on my phone they're all about the same, probably because they are all based on ffmpeg. Every 720p plays with the same issue. This is above vplayer because of hardware support and on par with rockplayer.
2) Love the interface. Its pretty well-designed. Love how the RR and FF have an adjustable seek Very useful. Just wish there is gesture support as I'm a bit spoiled .
3) Love the black and white mode. Makes it seem like you are watching one of those old TV back in the days. Really nice effect.
4) Hate the 'R' logo in rockplayer and ads in general, but this one is not very intrusive. Very nice .
Overall one of the top video players out there.
Your player is AMAZING !!!
ANd as you know, Your player does not have one option...
And this would be best for listening to audiobooks....
You know that feeling when someone talk slowly.....with.......not...................so important.............pauses
.................and breaks............................and you want just to
......................listen for information............and this is so annoying .
And as you know it is possible to talk faster....
And as you know this would keep listener focused......
So now.... when you know that this feautere could be important...
You can just why not add option to increase speed of playing without changing pitch of voice ?
Just to have some slider to increase tempo as user want, for example 2 times faster, or 1.5.
Without changing pitch so it would not make voice silly high...
Because that feature can make your player best ever.
has anyone tried it on the x10 mini pro?? is it smooth?? does it have any widget function?? cant wait to try it later on..
Player would fine I guesss, but without a way to remove ads and watermark I do not want it. I would pay for an as free version.
Here in my Motorola Milestone 1 2.1 firmware didnt played MKV, it frozen the video a lot.
Sorry for the english.
Works on HTC Legend with Gingerbread (CM7) smooth!!!
Thank u!!!
yeah this player is really good, install to my Dell Sreak and plays smoothly. But one option missing that is screen orientation.
I think the best player ever for now.
Plays great, but mp4 files, and files converted to mkv format via mediafox play too fast - sound seems ok but it's playing almost 2x speed. Any ideas?
Vplayer
Hi
I am assuming you have created the Vital player or Vplayer. I have bought this app and i have to say its very impressive in terms of play back. But what i would like to see is subtitle support. I cant find anywhere on the app for where i can attach a subtitle that i had previously downloaded.
Another app that does this well is mvideoplayer. This has the option to search on your phone a subtitle and attach it to the video. But the playback is kinda jerky and laggy. Is there any way of getting subtitle support.
Thanks

[PROJ] Music Player For Android

Ok so I have tried every music player on the Market and I am just not satisfied, there are ones i like, for example MIUI Music or Poweramp. However each one is missing a key component.
So What i want to do is start a project to make the Best Music Player For Android combining the Best Features and then making them better. I am not a Dev but a great idea thinker when it comes to projects. So what i really need is some devs that want to join into this project. PM Me if you are interested!
Features to Be Included(Hopefully)
Slick UI
Equalizer(like in poweramp)
Lyrics (Like in MIUI music)
Ability to Stream Music
5.1 Dolby Support
Ipod Touch and Honeycomb Like landscape view (http://www.coolgadgetconcept.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/coolest-ipod-touch-2.jpg)
Voice Search
Any other Ideas PM
If you want to develop "the best music player", you would have to add quite a few more features than that. You should check out the features of Rockbox, and add the interface features you want to that. To mention a few:
gapless playback
wide codec support (lossless as well as lossy formats)
crossfeed
crossfade
album artist support
advanced database search
Check the Rockbox features at http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/FeatureComparison
Rockbox for Android is being developed, and the features above, except the database, is already working. But especially the UI still needs some work. But the music playback features should be more important than nice looks, anyway.
i really would like to be able to edit song info from my phone (EX. Artist, Album, Song Name) and be able to use pics from my gallery to use as album covers

I second this.
Use player pro it has all of that
Sent from a guy living in a van down by the river
Some ideas:
Database: Browse music by artist/album/song (the tags supported by all music players) and by genre (only a few android players support the genre tag) and by composer (for classical music and DJ collections, none of the android players currently support the composer tag). Of course by folder too. Not everyone needs all the ID3 tags, so let us toggle them on/off in the settings menu.
Play Queue/on the fly playlist like in WinAmp and PlayerPro.
Swipe screen to move from "now playing" to "play queue" to "music collection," or use a WinAmp-like "now playing" rollup screen.
Optional lyrics/last.fm/shoutcast/etc. plugins, so everyone can add their favorite features without bloating the app. Same for codecs: don't bloat the app with dozens of codecs, but let everyone add the codecs they want and leave out the codecs they don't care about.
A build-your-own widget feature (or widgets as optional plugins so you have a wide choice without overcrowding Android's widget list). Some people want a big 4x5 widget with a large album cover picture, others (like me) want to cram artist/title info and play/back/forward buttons in a small 2x1 widget, some may want to put their entire play queue in a scrolling widget, etc.
And of course an equalizer, with presets as optional plugins.
To cut a long story short: it's impossible to make a perfect one-size-fits-all player. The only way to make the best player possible is to make a minimalist "base app" and then let the user add plugins and customize the app to his/her own taste as much as possible.
crossfade, oh my, crossfade, i actually use some DJ dual player app to get crossfade cus non of the regular ones have it.
Can you include a feature to play a song once and stop after that? Every music player I've seen on the marketplace feels the need to keep going and going through every album unless I turn on repeat or something.
This is what has stopped me from replacing my MP3 player with my Android phone. I love how on my MP3 player, I can play a song and it will stop after the song finishes, or if I select another song to play instead.

I agree, Player Pro is amazing, I installed it a couple weeks ago and it's much better than the stock Player, It is the first music player I have found and liked that finds music on the device storage and sd card. The only thing I kinda wish it had, although it's a cosmetic thing, is that I wish it had a coverflow type landscape.
Another killer feature for a new music app:
Split screen layout of music library, play queue, and player control buttons. This way you can insert songs into the right place of the playqueue by a simple drag'n'drop action, and you have the most important parts of any music app combined in a single screen.
A rough outline of what it could look like (yes, it's a messy cut'n'paste job):

[Q] Best music player for Moto G?

What music player do you use?
I'm personally very happy with Omich Player (Look it up in the play store, can't link yet).
Minimalistic, works fast and stable and just does what is has to do without any bloat.
I'm just intrested in what you guys use.

i use PowerAmp (full version). in my opinion its the best music player to adjust anything you want to. for example the software Amplifier (equalizer, but i call it amplifier because its the best one i got so far in a music player). automatic or manual searching for CD Covers for nearly every album or songs, automatic or manual searching for lyrics, sleeptimer (if you are like me who just listen to music to get to sleep), set a song as ringtone, different music player skins, many audio adjustments like crossfade, audiobuffer size, DVC. you can set up a alternative lockscreen when you use poweramp and want to control it while your phone is locked. You also get some widget possibilities if you need them. It got also bluetooth support for some bluetooth headphones. and you can customize how PowerAmp behaves when you get a phone call while listening to music

Rocket player 3
Used PowerAmp, but since you cant use the songs you download to cache on another app i had to settle with spotify app (which is not that bad if a little too basic)
I like google play because it integrates with google now, so I can give voice commands to the player to switch songs, pause or play.

Android music player review - 1. general comparison

I used many Android music players as a music lover and tested them as a member of the team that made a music player app. So I decided to write detailed reviews about pros and cons of some music players in a serial form for one who is looking for a great app. This is the first part for introduction and I will handle the sound review in the next one. I tried to be as objective as I can, but a review is a subjective one after all and my thought could not be same with your opinion.
1. Poweramp

Poweramp is the most popular music player app. I bought it because it's highly recommended online. It provides lots of useful features and skins. You can hear the characteristic sound based on rich bass and use the sound effects like 10 band equalizer, tone, and limit. Reverb effect was also added in the recently released alpha version of Poweramp v3. I prefer its new UI of to the previous one. Although it doesn't leave nothing to be desired in the sound quality but is still a nice player for common music listeners.
*link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.maxmpz.audioplayer
2. Neutron
Neutron is an audiophiles' favorite among the Android music players. It supports most audio formats and offers a huge number of sound features. It allows users to adjust the sound in great detail but it's too complicated to use though its UI is much better that in the past. If you refer others' settings on the internet and adjust well you can enjoy good sound but it's so tough for me to make Neutron my main player. Anyway, it's ideal for one who need various sound options and 32, 64 audio processing.
*link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.neutroncode.mpeval
3. JetAudio
I often used its PC version so I also tried JetAudio app with anticipation. It provides a free basic version without a time limit while Poweramp and Neutron only provide time-limited trial versions. If you buy its pro version you can use 20 band equalizer instead 10 band and unlock the sound effects like AM3D and Bongiovi via in-app purchases. I heard its sound effects would enhance the sound quality and I bought the pro version and in-app products, but sadly, the result didn't satisfy me. I think its sound is worse than other players in this writing.
*link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jetappfactory.jetaudio
4. Rocket Player
Rocket Player is another popular Android music player and provides a free version without a time limit like JetAudio. Paid version provides preamp, 10 band equalizer, replay gain, and etc. Its volume level is quite loud and sound is decent. But it has less extremely low frequency and too much mid. Another issue is that use of 5 band equalizer causes lower volume and worse sound quality. I'm not sure whether 10 band in paid version has the same problem or not because I hesitated to buy it. If you use paid app, please let me know how it is. Rocket Player is a good choice for one who wants a free and decent player yet.
*link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrtstudio.AnotherMusicPlayer
5. PlankTone Music Player
PlankTone Music Player is a newborn app made by our team. It's not as famous as other players but I think it's worth trying, especially in the sound quality. It provides a trial version and in-app purchase is needed after the trial period. You can hear a high quality and balanced sound without complicated settings. It also let you individually customize sound effects for each song. But it is at an early stage so it does not have features like tag editing or downloading album art and doesn’t support themes and skins, and doesn’t offer various widgets now.
