i heard from my friend that HTC need to do battery calibration. is it true??
Don't think so. Another phone had a "calibration" routine but I haven't heard anything on this one. I tried the calibration routine from the other phone on mine and noticed no difference.
I really have a sucky battery life on htc sensation. I am trying to figure it out how I could get it to last for more than 12hours with average use...

While a lith-ion battery doesn't learn or have a memory, the battery does have a chip in it that needs to be calibrated. You'll need to cycle your battery from fully charged to fully discharged 3 to 5 times to calibrate this circuit. Normally a LI battery doesn't like to be fully discharged, so try to avoid doing this in everyday use. Better to give it maintenence charges. And heat is a big enemy of these batteries as well.
And seems to me 12 hours is pretty good battery life for a smart phone.

2 points.
1. There are also battery stats on the phone, which need to be built by full charge/discharge cycle.
2. Discharge phone till it's dead with no fear, battery controller shuts it down when there is some juice left. It's like reserve in your tank, it shows you have petrol for 0 miles/kilometers, but in reality there is another 5 litres sitting in the tank.
I worked in the cell phone industry for a long time. The best thing i have seen for a full charge is to regulaurly do a full charge and than turnphone off and plug back in until indicator shows full again(if it shows full already charge for half to full hour). I have always seen better results. Also if rooted wipe battery stats in advanced before flashing any radio or rom.

This may easily be true. I think I read that the battery doesn't actually like being fully charged and that most chargers shut down early because of this. Maybe your tip has something to do with that. I don't know myself how that will correllate w/ calibrating the charge circuit that I spoke of.

That's a very intersting battery you got here. It has bigger capacity than the original one. Does it have the same size? Were you able to fit it in and put the original cover back? Have you noticed a noticeable improvement in battery life or is it just scam?
I don't have the tmo 4g, I have the european version, but I believe it should work too, shouldn't it?
Out of the box.... Use it till it dies completely. Charge it 100% without interruption.
I've ALWAYS had great battery life on all my devices using that method.
Do that a few times a month when it's convenient....you'll have a happy battery.
Battery and DRIVER need to be conditioned/calibrated.
I get 12-16 hours with fairly heavy use. If you want more, ya need to wait for different battery tech OR get a dumb phone.
Asking for more than 12 or so hours is just silly with a device this powerful and a display this large. I'm not someone who likes to cut the balls off my superphone to save a few hours on battery life. I'd rather get 12 hours and use this phone the way it was intended too, than get 24 hours and have silly progs like Juice Defender running. Unless you know you're gonna be lost in a forest for a few days, don't most people have access to a charger sometime during their day

Disabling the HTC Hub sync helped mine a lot.
My phone has been unplugged for 10 hours, I have 1h 17 minutes of display on time, taking 67% of battery. The rest is spread between Cell standby 11%, Wi-Fi 11%, Phone Idle 8% and Maps 3%.
It is now standing at 29% battery. I find that awful and can't believe any of you say it is normal. I have disabled HTC Hub and Sense sync and all the settings are pretty much the same as on my Galaxy S2.
On the SGS2 I manage to easily get 3 to 4 hours of screen time before the battery goes down to the thirties/twenties and a lot more heavy usage than I've managed on the Sensation. I'm on my second battery cycle and I really hope it improves because I'm very underwhelmed so far.

With all due respect....how is that awful?? It's fantastic....
I think you're too caught up in the percentage number the stats page shows for battery use. It doesn't matter one bit if that graffic shows the display at 99.99%. As long as you're getting a full day out of your Sensation....isn't that all that really matters? Or am I confused by what bothers you?? Sounds to me like you're getting a full day...unless you don't sleep??
You've been unplugged for 10 hours and it seems as if you have another 2-4 hours left with that 30%.... Whats wrong with that? It's great.
This is not a Nokia 6133 It's a dual-core superphone, with a 4.3" qHD display.
Of course by the nature of the tech, amoled will be more efficient with regards to display...but as far as I can tell, the GS2 doesn't last any longer than this phone on a regular day to day basis under normal to heavy use.
I get 12-16 hours on a charge with fairly heavy use. Sync, WiFi, Calls, Web, GPS...nothing disabled or throttled.
I wouldn't get caught up with that % number in the battery stats....it's misleading....big time.
Condition the battery properly....you'll never have any battery issues...unless it's faulty.
Also people just need to be realistic with regards to battery life.... A gallon of gasoline will get you much further in a VW Bug than a Bugatti....

There is an app to calibrate your battery, but you need to be rooted. Go to www.teamroyal.net and there is instructions that you MUST follow. Read up on it now so you can be prepared for when we get root. You also ONLY want to calibrate your battery once every 4-6 weeks, and only if it needs it. Doing it too often can fry your battery.
I know this doesn't directly answer your question, but I hope it will help many once we get root.

This is not a guarantee of battery life extension or performance. These are merely steps (in most cases) to possibly help prolong and restore battery longevity.
First lets understand something about battery charging. The most common mistake is to overcharge a battery. While one is inclined to charge when they see the low battery message, overcharging is detrimental to the battery. i feel like i do this every time i recharge my battery because every time i charge to 100% then turn it off and plug it in, it takes another 5 min to charge to 100 while its off. Literally, every time i bump charge it.

Mhmm, an explanation of the bump charge. Been written here before, but eh. Maybe someone lost theirs. I lost my txt file with the instructions a while back lol.
The way I see it these instructions only help to provide a more accurate battery count. Whether the battery is displaying correctly or not, juice in the battery is juice in the battery. Nothing more nothing less. This whole battery issue is ridiculous.
I think it'd be a good idea to remove the battery icon from the notification bar all together.

No. Your phone has software in it to detect how much battery life is left for a variety of reasons; it turns more battery-intense functionality off at 5%, the camera for instance, and keeps enough battery power so that it can run its shutdown procedure, instead of just dying and losing whatever's in memory at the time.
You also don't want your phone thinking that 19% battery is 1% and turning off or telling you to charge it, as charging a battery that isn't fully discharged is a great way to lose long-term battery life. Additionally, how much would it suck if your phone software thought that 75% was 100% and stopped charging? You could then be leaving for the day with 3/4 of your battery, thinking it was full.
There are plenty of reasons to want this to be as accurate as possible. Unless you just don't give a crap if your phone is usable or not

I was having all kinds of issues with my battery draining too fast. I unplugged at 7:30AM and by 10:30AM it would be at 60%. I tried the bump charge and all that, but then I realized "It's the apps, stupid!" I started running a task killer after I unplugged it, and now I'm making it to noontime and I'm only down to 80%.
TLR: Keep your apps in check, they are what eat your battery.

A few days ago my phone shut off after draining the battery - before it shut off the battery was less than 1%. i let it sit for ten minutes or so then turned it on. - it showed 16%.

i do this ALL the time!
If you are running a custom rom it is also good to delete the battery charge stats when booting back up after step 4. If you have CWM just boot into recovery, go to advanced, then clear battery stats.
There is a way to clear it if you don't have CWM, but I don't remember what it is and I think most people have CWM anyways.
I check my apps frequently. One day my weather widget was going nuts and was using GPS non stop. I pulled my phone out at lunch and the battery was in the yellow. Granted I haven't seen that happen again it has made me reconsider even using apps/ widgets with GPS
widgets kill battery. I had several pages of widgets and I had to wipe by phone, remarkable how much "better" the battery was after that. Weather widgets look great but it costs to run them.

I've a feeling it has less to do with the actual widget and more to do with their constant updating when there is a poor or nonexistant connection.

Don't download the anaimation sub-app. update on the hour (or 2) instead of 15 -30 min.
I would love some advice as a noob here. I've only had my Cappy for a little over 2 weeks. I've done the battery calibrate trick, but still don't see very good battery life. I unplugged from the charger at 100% at 10pm last night and left the phone on all night. Wifi and GPS were turned off. Beautiful Widgets is set to update weather every hour. The phone received 7 sms messages during the night. When the alarm went off at 6:30am I was at 70%. It's 10am now, so it's been off the charger for 12 hours. Here is what I show:
Voice Calls 34%
Cell Standby 23%
Phone Idle 16%
Display 15%
Android System 4%
Beautiful Widgets 3%
Android OS 3%
Android Core Apps 2%
antivirus 2%
Battery currently shows 51% left
I'm running stock Eclair JH7, build 1101

There are some good tips for prolonging and caring for your Battery here: (Can't post links, google search: site:arstechnica.com battery life ask ars)
However, cell phone batteries rarely run over $30 (I have seen capivate batteries as low as $13), if you just always fully charge it you will still see a good 8-12 months out of it, and then just buy a new one. $30 a year is worth it to me to just let the thing fully charge so that I can use it for longer.

If you fully charge and run the battery, done several times, the battery will eventually run better. Surprisingly, there is a "break in" period for the battery.
I appreciate the advice on the task killers and such. I don't use one, and after reading that stuff, I won't. I pulled my phone off the charger yesterday at about 1pm. By the time I played some games, did some web browsing, made some calls and did some texting, it was still at 70% when I went to bed at around 10pm. This morning at 7am, I was shocked to find that it was still at 67%! I don't have a clue what was different. It typically hogs up 25-30% overnight, but this time it only did 3%. I wish I knew what was different. This is so weird!
Well now we are all S-OFF and running custom rom's/kernels, was just wondering what drain people are seeing on battery under normal usage?
I'm getting 228mAh overclocked to 1.728Ghz with on demand with Leedroid 1.1 (kernel 1.2).
About 4 times as much as my old HD2 used to drain!
Kind of mental battery usage really. And not too impressed, it doesn't seem to be any different with or without background data usage.
Not sure I can be happy with this device the way it stands!
Getting about a days battery life and that's coaxing it through the day. God forbid I actually use it!! Done all the calibration and followed all the guides, still terrible battery life. Battery technology is shocking. Think I'd need a 10,000mAH battery to have any reasonable sort of battery life.
So what's other people's opinion??
its all about the setup man. takes time to find the settings right for what u use the phone for, and every phone is different. moderate use i can get 10 hours on android revolution 1.1.5. give it a few solid charges (all the way dead until you cant even get the phones screen to power on and then charge until the green light is on for over an hour) and then wipe battery stats when its at 100%.
If your that unhappy with it and nothings working call up your carrier they'll replace it for you, I did that with my G1
I feel the same way. I love this phone, but what's it good for when you can't use it. I find the battery levels to be a bit unusual. It could stay in 100% for a good two hours, and then it would drop to 90% in 10 minutes. And it just goes downhill from that on. I did battery calibration and cycling , but still the same result. I find myself avoid using the phone. I just ordered higher capacity battery. Hopefully, I have better luck with that one.

Moderate use (aka no gaming just emails, xda forum app 15mins, music 30mins, video 15mins and occassional internet), I've been able to last the work day til I get home. I usually still have range from 25% to 50% battery when I get home.
When I do any gaming app, it won't last me the day.
I end up having to charge the battery every night for the next day's use.
I carry the usb charger for wkend usage. I can almost always find somewhere to plug the usb in for charge (car, laptop, etc).
I love this phone and it's QHD screen. The display eats up a lot of battery though. I've calibrated my display lighting to 33% brightness (it's still looks great) as default to conserve on battery but will boost it to 100% when I'm plugged in.
Kind of makes me sad though. The device feels good in my hand and I like it overall, but the battery performance is unacceptable for me. I went to bed with it having something like 93% (dropping from 100% after like 15min of play). Not even 6h later I wake up and when I look at it, the battery is already drained to 85% only from standby (Yes,always-on mobile data is deactivated, power efficiency is on). After playing with the unit in train and some browsing while commuting for 30min, its already at 70% or something. During the next few hours, while working, I was just checking mails, using whatsapp from time to time and writing a few messages. No surfing, no videos no games.
By 3PM the battery was at 15%. Even worse, the damn thing takes some 4h+ to fully charge. That's just too damn long, my iphone 3gs charges fully in about an hour. What is also very frustrating is that the Sensation discharges a good portion of its current as pure HEAT. Never saw a phone get this warm afer 15min of normal usage.
I knew battery wasn't going to be stellar but this just sucks. Most of all that a full charge takes 4h. fail :-/
EDIT: Ok guys the 2.3.4 update did the trick! The battery now chrages fully within 2h and battery life has ridiculously improved!
I took it off the cord around 8am this morning. Now it's 2pm and my battery is at 83 with some 46min screen time and slight usage. Also the heating seems to be gone.
Apart from that, everything runs smoother with the new update. Guess I'm gonna keep the little guy after all
However, I did order 2 extra Ankers + charger (25$!) as additional mobilty is never wrong.
Before you return it, I recommend that you call HTC support and request a warranty exchange for the phone and battery.
You may have a defective unit.
While my battery isn't stellar, I get a minimum of 10 hours before I drop below 20% life (always-on mobile data off, manual syncing, not too many widgets).
Your phone battery performance is not indicative of Sensation battery performance for the overall majority.
Most have said that the battery gets better after a few full charges/discharges, and the todays new update is supposed to improve battery performance. Many people say the Sensation is better than most other 4G phones.
I dont play games and such, mostly phone text and email and it lasts me a day and a half. There is also a better battery you can get.
That charging time is ridiculous, which leads me to believe that your unit and/or battery is defective.
Mine charges from 15% to 100% in 2 hours. Same for almost everybody elses phone.
You might want to reconsider and try warranty exchange mentioned earlier. Also, I would suggest the ChiChi battery. I'm running from 7:30 to about 4:00 with my WiFi hot spot turned on for my Galaxy Tab 10.1 and I'm using my phone for calls, texts etc., my battery still has about 30% left when I leave work.

Dude , custom rom and anker / chitec battery.
My first time with my new anker achieved almost 24 hours on battery and almost 4 hours screen time with quite alot of use during that time.
Totally destroyed my oem battery in every way.
Also I would do a Warranty Exchange and with the new update I have seen a big differance in 2.3.4 vs 2.3.3 in terms of battery life and speed of Sense in general. I purchased a Anker 1900mah battery for $10 and fully charged to dead I get on average about 17-20 hours and I would say I'm a good moderate to HEAVY! user. Switching back to a stock battery after calibrating with the Anker Battery has also improved battery life seeing that I get between 12-14 hours with stock now. I would charge to 100% go to bed and wake up with about 97%-98%

+1 I agree 110%, Try this though Calibrate the Anker Battery then fully charge your stock battery and see what battery life you get.

Get a anker battery and download leedroid/android revolution/insertcoin. I guarantee you won't want to return it than. When I first got my device I was thinking about doing the same thing but after I looked through the thread I saw people were getting better results with the anker or chichi. Don't be discouraged that its a third party. It actually out performs the stock battery and embarrasses it.
Also download calibrate battery from the market.

I had terrible battery life for the first week or so. 6 to 8 hours max, and 2 hours screen time if I was lucky. After conditioning the battery by fully discharging then fully charging on the AC adapter for a few cycles, it corrected itself for the most part. Yesterday I had 15 hours with 3 hours screen time and still had 20+ percent left. I have a chichtech battery sitting in my mailbox right now waiting for me to get off work.

After I got my anker I sold my OEM and got two more. I also have a evo3d battery that I haven't used. I also have been hearing good things about it.

So you guys can not confirm this? If so, it might be my battery is faulty. I will upgrade to 2.3.4 and calibrate. Probably will improve battery time, I doubt however it will reduce the charge time...
Something is definitely up. I just got my Sensation 10 days ago and am still stock. It takes me ~2 hours to fully charge, and that's with me using the phone like crazy while its charging....and the phone light on the entire time.
And I get a good full days use out of it....sometimes 2 days if I dont use the screen much and just phone text email.

Ok guys the 2.3.4 update did the trick! The battery now chrages fully within 2h and battery life has ridiculously improved!
I took it off the cord around 8am this morning. Now it's 2pm and my battery is at 83 with some 46min screen time and slight usage. Also the heating seems to be gone.
Apart from that, everything runs smoother with the new update. Guess I'm gonna keep the little guy after all
However, I did order 2 extra Anker's as additional mobilty is never wrong, and with such an offer it was a steal:

Also check if your phone is always awake because I had this and it had a huge affect.
I easily get 16-20 hours with LeeDroid's ROM.
i had the same battery issue with my first sensation. Even after several cycle of charging - discharging, battery calibration, the battery would not last for more than 7-8 hours. i exchanged it , for first couple of days, it didn't hold the charge for long,.but after i did battery calibration and update to 2.3.4, now my battery will last for 12 to 14 hours with moderate use. doesn't get hot with normal use, but over the weekend , i use map navigation and temp reached 48C. I think, i should not use it as GPS for longer than few minutes, or it may burn the phone.
Juice Defender Ultimate is definitely worth the tiny amount of money it costs. Just got just over 3 days on my Sensation, admittedly i hardly used it.
Usually i get a good 22 hours from it with medium use.

Just replace the battery and you will see the difference.. my phone last ast least 10 hours.. its just amazing....
I lose almost no charge while it sits on standby.
I work 12 hour shifts, I listen to Music the entire time, browse, login to home computers for about 30 minutes using Teamviewer and keep up with RSS feeds throughout.
By the end of shift I'm down to 5%.
Sounds like you need a replacement, rather than a return, bud.
Have to charge almost twice a day... I believe it happened after latest 1.45.531.1 update....
Disabled all animation, got auto adjust for display, disabled all what I could.. Still gives me 12 -16 hours on standby only....NOT even using the phone!!!!
Does anyone have something like that??? Or there is some remedy I skipped?

can you provide a screenshot of the battery usage graph? also, have you tried getting an aftermarket, bigger battery such as the anker?
I was the same way as you. I checked my battery graph, and standby was using something like 80% of the battery with almost everything turned off. By the time I got home from work I would need to charge it immediately. I bought one of the Anker batteries on Amazon for $15 bucks or so, and I'm now getting about 2 days for a charge. I don't know what it was with my battery, because it sounds like my experience wasn't typical, but I didn't really feel like going through HTC when I could just pay the $15.

This phone was running PERFECT prior to the HTC update. Now I'm having a plethora amount of problems, including the battery. For example, prior to the update I would get 13-16 hours on HEAVY usage... Moderate usage? Try a day or day in a half. Now take today for example, I unplugged my phone a little before 7am and I had 20 something percent 4 hours later.
I'm telling you, that HTC update really messed this phone up IMO.

I hate to say it,but if you're battery's dying a lot faster after an update,a bigger battery won't help much.
I'd be getting in touch with HTC and ask them what the heck is going on.
Really annoyed with the battery performance. I checked and only display is using 90% of battery. Tried everything to reduce it but no change.

I've had the same issue since the update. My battery drains at a ridiculous rate. I've become really frustrated with the phone since. I rooted it and flashed a custom ROM in hopes of solving the problem but it's the same deal.
I've confirmed it's not the battery either since I've got another one I've tried and only get the same results. Even with Juice Defender running I get nowhere as great a battery life as I did before the update
I'm doing decent 8hrs 20,mins on batt. With 40% left mostly text and internet browsing

Try clicking the graph at the top of the screen it will give you another screen that shows awake/screen time etc. Is your phone going to sleep when you screen turns off?
I was having the same problem and realized that some app was keeping my phone awake even though the screen was off. I uninstalled 80% of the crap I had installed and now my phone sleeps like it should and battery lasts amazingly long time.

How can you tell if your phone is going to sleep when you lock the screen? What is a good method for this? And if I find it its not sleeping when it should, is there a way to find the culprit easily?

Click on the graph in battery stats, it should show awake time and screen on. If your awake time is constant when the screen on time isn't, then chances are you've got an bad app somewhere preventing the phone from sleeping
my battery life was plain **** on 2.3.3., device was running hot all the time (=waste of energy), charging took ridiculous 4h+! When I took it off at the charger around 23:00 the battery was dead at 14:00 the next day with most time being idle!
Since my update to 2.3.4 things got so much better. charging takes around 2h and battery finally lasted a whole day and had 40% juice left in the evening.
Since I got my 2 Ankers+charger for 20$, battery life is crazy now. Been on one charge for 2d2h and still had 16% left. Pushmail on, wifi on (cellular data only when not at home), brigthness at 100%, taking video, pictues and some navigation, messaging and phonecalls. Oh yeah and a few minutes of flashlight use
I would say between slight and medium use.
If 2.3.4 worsened your batterylife, contact HTC or your vendor.
I now replaced the battery at 16% with the other Anker because I still need to do my 5 charge cycles on that one to calibrate it.
Here's an example of the graph. At the bottom you can see awake and screen on time. I pulled phone of charger last night, did some browsing, then ran for an hour with music playing in the background (you can see the small green bar on awake even when screen is off). After I surfed a little and left it off the charger when I went to bed. The phone is properly sleeping when the screen is off and almost 16 hours and still have 62%.
Before I uninstalled the apps, the awake time was solid green across the screen.
Anker battery worked wonders on my device. Before I would have to throw it on the charger after lunch as I like to go for a beer after work and the stock battery would never make it that far... Now when I get home from the bar I still have ~30% battery. Anker battery FTW!
flash a custom rom and u will go gaga over ur battery life. definitely works for me. on standby overnight drain 0-1%.
I found out that if you don't have strong signal at your location your battery drains pretty fast that's why I always connect my phone to WiFi at my apartment where my phone looses signal sometimes. now I lose just 1-2% of power during a night.
Sorry to hear about your battery troubles. A couple days ago I rooted and switched to "Android Revolution HD 3.0.4" and my battery life seems pretty solid. I wasn't having battery life issues prior to this though.
I'm currently in the process of calibrating the battery:
- drain it mostly
- turn off
- plug it in overnight while still off
- in the morning unplug, wait 15 minutes, replug for a few hours; do this ONLY ONCE or you may damage the battery
- power on, immediately go to recovery, advanced, reset battery stats
- start normally
- drain battery until it shuts down; a continuous stress test or stability test app is probably ideal
- once it shuts off, turn it on again to double-check that it's dead; it should only come on for a second or two
- while off, plug in and allow to fully charge; no fooling around with plugging/unplugging, just normal
- calibration complete!
I think you can follow a similar procedure (minus clearing battery stats) to refresh the battery calibration even without rooting/custom recovery. I've read the effectiveness is similar. The phone just needs to be retaught what "full" and "empty" mean, all in one charge cycle. If you calibrate it wrong you could have issues with it shutting off while still reading ~15% battery life.
Anyway, as I said, I'm in the process of doing this. Currently I'm in the "drain it" phase... with my screen at maximum brightness (remaining on), overclocked to 1.5 ghz, I've been running "StabilityTest" (from market) for one hour and fifteen minutes. It stresses both cores as well as the RAM. At this time, my battery is at around 30-40% or so, and it's getting really hot! The phone's temperature is reading as 54.8 degrees!
Also, yesterday I used the GPS for about 4 hours before it died, this was prior to any calibration attempt. I think this is within typical battery life considering that the screen stays on.
TL;DR: Maybe you just need to try a custom rom or recalibrate your battery. Miscalibrated battery can be caused by flashing/updating a rom, I imagine even when it's an OTA. Sense is crippling your phone anyway, you might as well give it a try IMHO.

I don't think there is really a set time, its just that when it starts to go just replace it.
I'd usually do it within 18 months so you're on time for a replacement. Batteries don't last too long which is why buying a sealed battery phone is ridiculous imo.
Depends a lot on how you charged it over the years. Some people say it's better to charge those kind of batteries often and don't let them get below 20% or 50%. And If you use your phone while it' charging, that also decreases the life of the battery. High heat or cold also take some time off the battery's life.
Even if you do take good care of the battery, it will inevitably lose it's capacity over the years.

I feel the same way. But maybe nowadays ppl change phones pretty quickly, so by the time the battery's about to die, they're already getting a new one.
I have been using my phone for almost 2 years, and it already loses its charge so i decided to change it. I think it depends on your usage, if you use it for heavy use, it will loses its charge faster.
I bought new original battery after 12months of using old one,with daily usage i can get around 5hours of screen time

Well after 2 years, any good old battery will be singing on the last verse so to speak. Time to change it. Just normal!
My phone is about two years old now and I thought I needed a new battery. Instead I picked up a new samsung charger (the one that ships with the Note 4). I don't know if it's because of the increased voltage output but my phone seems to hold a charge better - and charge faster!

For me & my phone habits, it's usually after 15 months. On my N5, I put in a fresh battery after 18 months.

In general, the deeper you discharge the battery, the fewer times the battery will recharge. If you use your phone heavily, and always drain to 0% almost daily, that will result in a battery that will stop holding it's charge very quickly. However, if you don't use your phone heavily, or have access to a charger throughout the day to top up your battery long before it crosses 50%, then it will typically last a lot longer.
The fact that you notice a significant loss in battery performance, most likely means that the battery has either lost significant life, or at least significant enough to how you use your phone.
You may try the "Battery Calibration" app from google play store.
it's free but require root access.
This app remove the batterystats.bin system file. The OS generates a new clean batterystats file soon.
It's like you're refreshing your battery...
Calibration needs to be done after flashing a new ROM, but you can calibrate any time you think your battery is miscalibrated.
I use this app myself and it's great...

Read the last paragraph. Battery calibration apps don't do anything except generate a placebo effect and screw up your battery stats. To maximize battery life, you want to examine what processes are running and kill the ones you don't want to run, using Greenify or Autostarts.

Here's how you do it.
*Let the battery discharge while doing normal routine stuff, until it switches off.
*Turn it on again and use it some more till it switches off again. Repeat, until it wont turn on any longer.
* Remove the battery and hold the power key for 30 secs or so with battery removed(I do it for upto a minute)
* Install the battery and close it up and now connect the charger.
Let the battery charge to 100% WITHOUT turning the phone on.
*After 100% is reached, turn the device on and disconnect the cable and use it as you normally do.
DO NOT RECHARGE in between and let it discharge completely or till the point, it'll just be about to turn off, then connect the charger.

I've repeted this steps three times and it looked great!
I more than a year... 1 hour of screen
Calibrate your battery. . If you don't have the app .. charge til you get to 100% unplug charger then turn off phone, plug in charger while phone is off. . Charge until it's green. . Unplug and turn your phone on. . Repeat that process 1 more time and it will work
I just bought a new OEM battery from Samsung. What should i do first? Charge it with phone turned off to full then discharge it to 0 and then charge again to max? Do this one time or 3? maybe there is some article about what u should or shouldn't do when u get a brand new battery?
