This is for CM7 nightly build on the G2X.
I used the UOT Kitchen to cook some nice custom notification bar images. This changes the battery, signal, data connection, wifi, mute, and other notification bar images. Also, I took over 100 images from the Bionix build and put them on here to change the colored CM7 images. Still a few that are colored, but still working to get the rest to gray.
Just run the zip in CMW. I was told to wipe cache and dalvik-cache before running, but it worked without doing that.
Enjoy

Screen shots?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
This looks exactly like Krylons Bionix 2 theme Created by Alexia, just ported for CM7. Are you giving them any credit?
He said he used UOT Kitchen to make this, so should he research where every PNG files comes from on UOT and give each creator credit? Or maybe just realize that this is what UOT is for and say he used that instead. Not saying he didn't see Krylon's work and then use UOT to mimic it, I'm just saying there is a reason behind UOT and I think people get worked up a little too much over "credit" sometimes especially when it's just a few png files openly available to anyone.
Can you not see the screen shots above? Yes, I liked the Bionic images and icons, so I used uot kitchen to modify cm7. Nothing wrong with that.

Probably because he built it for the adjustment was made in CM7 for 3g vs 4g. It changed the SystemUI.apk some, so now you get boot loops.
WARNING: THIS THEME CAN'T BE APPLIED ON CM7 NIGHTLY. IT WILL LOOP THE BOOT IMAGE AGAIN AND AGAIN. WRONG FRAMEWORK AS WELL

For some reason, this would stop working after about every two nightly builds. I am not sure what would change in the nightly, but it would cause it to start boot looping. You have to go cook a new file in the Kitchen about every two nightly builds. But since were all stuck on 124 right now, I will create a new one for the current nightly.

No problem. I try not to be the a$$hole senior member, that annoys me.
It's an indian word for "One who watches" / "The Sentinel", etc. Fits my style, I tend only to talk/post when something needs said. Hence lurking on here since 2009 and only posting 300 some odd times.
Good luck with your theme, I've gotten permission from Sonny to bring those back from the dead, just don't have the time. Feel free to PM me if you have questions.

I've seen a lot of chatter regarding the desire to port over the mod that was created originally, I believe by PaY87, and then ported to the EVO by kubino99.
While I generally prefer to create my own stuff, versus porting other's work, there seemed to be enough demand / desire for this, that I decided to give it a try.
I take no credit for the original mod, which is quite smart in how it was done, rather, I simply cracked open the applicable framework file (services.jar) to try and determine what was modified, and then worked to incorporate these changes, which were vast into our CDMA Hero services.jar file.
This will NOT change your battery icon / graphic in any way, it will simply add, in white text, the percent battery left, inside of your existing battery icon. While this is nice to have, if you are like me, you are now going to drive yourself crazy watching the percent value tick down!
The linked zip files, to be flashed via recovery, as mentioned, modifies a framework file, and as such, your initial boot will take a while after flashing, as your dalvik-cache will get rebuilt. This was built off of the Fresh 2.3.3 services.jar file.
FYI, since this modifies the services.jar file, the same file contains a previous mod I had done for removing the clock from the taskbar. As such, if you still do not want the clock in the taskbar, you will have to flash the mod that contains both changes (included below).

What ROM are you running? My best guess is you are running a stock / non-deodexed ROM, which this will not work on.
Just flashed...AWESOME! Thanks for the great work to everyone involved.
I flashed in recovery and there was no change when i rebooted.
im running fresh 2.3.3 with a 710 v4 kernel.
Edit: nevermind..upon a second reboot it worked..
idk..if it doesnt come up the first time..shut down and just reboot again.
ill give updates soon
* i dont know if its just the fact that i pulled my phone off the the charger after sending the file to sd but my batttery has dropped from 90 to 83 within a couple minutes

mrinehart93 made a port for the hero, its just the circle battery icon, flash that one first then flash the one in here that JsChiSurf made and you will have the circle battery with percent in the middle.
ps. you need to use clockwork recovery to flash the cirlce battery zip in the link below

You can read a little about odex verssus deodex ROMs in Flipz's post here.
What it comes down to, however, is deodexing allows us to then more easily modify the binaries (compiled executable code), to make the mods we make, then re-compile and release.
In general can I assume that a mod working for Fresh will (or at least might) also work on other de-odexed Sprint-based ROMs?

Um... well just to see if you needed to wipe or not b4 you install this updated rom, I installed it over batman 2.2.7 and when I booted I kept gettin g-talk errors. I suggest wipeing but the good thing is that the setup wizard is back and will pull your applications from the market for you.

Never mind!! I downloaded from my XDA app the first time and I guess I did not get a piece...worked fine with a computer download.

Try redownloading I'm in the process of switching servers because mediafire isn't the greatest, also do not download from the xda app there is a problem with the downloads on here it misses bits and pieces...
Also I gotta say I love Mammons work his rom's are always so stable and I do not have the time to produce anything to the even compare to his caliber of work right now, this is why I have borrowed his rom as a basis for this project.

They are not just mammon's rom's I do change certain things to my likeing... And I did just post a framework theme... If you want to make it a theme go right ahead and pull all of the apk's you need and make it an update it is super super easy...
pull from /system/app in the original rom zip
Contacts.apk
DialerTabActivity.apk
TouchWiz30Launcher.apk
pull from /system/framework in the original rom zip
framework-res.apk
twframework-res.apk
pull from /system/media/video/shutdown
all 60 of the pngs in this folder.
pull from /system/etc
PowerOn.wav
pull from /system/media/audio/ui
Power_off.ogg
shutdown.ogg
these are all of the themed apk's and files so far, I believe...
then download the 2.2.8.2 update zip I made place these in the same folders inside the zip as the original rom and viola a theme/update zip that you can test out on any rom you would like.
Also you might have to make a new folder or two for the shutdown animation, PowerOn.wav, shutdown, and Power_off.ogg inside the update.zip...
I know this theme works with this rom that is why I do it this way and I in no way recommend doing what I have suggested above, as I have no way of knowing if it will work with any other rom... I will say that it will most likely work with Mammon's...
O'yeah and it will change the build # in the about phone section to Superheroes 2.2.8.2 Batman (that is if anyone attempts this)
Also if you attempt this please let us know what roms it works with and please make sure there are no bugs b4 you post that it works with another rom...
I'm sorry I figure if you are going to risk even soft brickin your phone that I do not want to be respossible for it and you yourself can attempt this...
yea, I'm just gonna stick with this rom, thats a lot of work LOL.
is there anyway to fix the rotation speed? thats the only thing that sucks now, waiting 3 secs for the phone to switch from portrait to landscape. my wifes stock epic switches instantly.
True quadrant score of 1095 with this rom (no silly i/o hack)...
I just installed the latest version. I didn't wipe, everything seems fine but behind the keypad, there is some image, is that normal
Sorry, hate to tease but... I would release it but the battery icon is jacked, and no apps are done yet - hopefully they will be as easy as the framework was to port . I didn't make any of the images, they were made available to me thanks to the port done by bendbowden over at the fascinate forum (other credits located in his thread) I added in the colored horizontal progress bars and am working on some other tweaks
This is for the AOSP rom, it's required before flashing this - this is not compatible with any other rom.
Check it out;

I'd like to modify my theme with a black menu background (I've searched and asked on the main themeing forum but couldnt find where the value is stored)
Is it possible to change it in a generic way or is it really specific to the rom/theme?

I thought Eli did a port of it already, you could ask him i'm not sure - I actually don't have your framework or I would for sure.
I dont think i woulda found that otherwise since it's the DHD subforum, hopefully that's what i need, thanks!
Edit: Hmm is it menu_background and menu_background_fill_parent_width? It the one in my theme is identical to the one in the stock GB build, would it be possible to get this theme's before it's released, just to be sure it's not my framework that's being weird? I'm only asking for those two specific files.

Haha, actually picked up an EVO for $50 from a guy that thought he bricked it... it was stuck in a boot loop. Loaded the factory RUU 2.1 file on it, it booted up just fine, then loaded the Factory 2.2 RUU file on it... Gonna use it as an "Android Alternative" to a brokeback ipod touch... Threw a spare 16gb micro sd I had lying around in it, ordered an otterbox, ordered a digitizer for it since this one has a small crack in it.. BETTER specs than a new ipod touch for less $$$.
I don't know that he did an EB11 Version of this... Not that I've seen.

Not to sound like a dumbass, but are you talking about the v0.9 pure AOSP rom, or the EC10 + AOSP "hybrid" rom that Phidelt made? I'd assume the pure AOSP, given the lock screen....
Thanks, though looks good, btw.
Pure AOSP only, this is just the framework-res.apk, phidelts combo rom uses the tw framework so eb16 themes work with it.

This was for the old version of AOSP, I have a port that I can get uploaded for the new version, think I still had a few tweaks to make but it was fully working. I hope you're talking about a mesmerize tho (I notice evo in sig)
Cant wait to try
Here is the honeycomb theme for v0.9.1, I think i still had some things to fix so let me know and I'll try to make time.
DOWNLOAD HONEYCOMB THEME AOSP v0.9.1
This is just a quick battery mod for charging and usage in 1% increments for the new ota. let me know what you think and if you have any other battery png's or ideas just let me know.
EDIT. Flashable zip works great now.
I found the battery png's floating around the net. If you are the owner I would like to give you thanks for the Art work.

the usable signal zip has the accurate battery but also has the signal bars without the transparencies, so lets say you have 3 bars, thats all you will see not 3 bars plus 3 transparent ones

Awesome work. I've been banging my head trying to get this MOD to work with no luck.
Have you figured out how to do sync anim or gps anim yet?
I have some nice icons if u need them.
Is this all around like smooth sense. Or just battery?

No havnt ,I can check into it a little . This is a big work week for me so I only have a coulple hrs free to do it . This project was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be especially with the public.xml and all the extra ID's. Glad you like it.

I guess I'm not sure what you mean. The only things I did involve some xmls for battery sequences.

Flashed it in recovery, not working for me. Phone boots fine, but I don't see the anims.
All it is , is just the battery. That's all I modified I just downloaded it and flashed fine with the battery mod. And also are you using the new update?
And also did you get the deodexed version of the Rom?

Ok .... Lol so this is what happen. I had the 1st update.zip pushed to my phone to test it then I noticed some text was spelled wrong in the updater , to make a long story short I made an empty update .zip. ill have an actual one with stuff in it after I get out of work . Sorry for the mix up.
Here is a working Circle Battery Mod for those that want a bit of color
1% charging for 4.22.651.2.
I'm not trying to Hijack the fine work that has been put into this thread. Just trying to offer some variety.
No fancy updater. Just extract the file and push it from recovery as follows
adb shell
mount /system
exit
adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/framework-res.apk
Wipe Dalvik
Fix permissions if desired
Reboot
EDIT: ColorBattery.zip is a flashable version of the same....
Anyone care to post on how the new zip flashes?
Edit... Flashes great.
Tomorrow ill be working on a bunch of stuff and ill be putting it in a new thread .
Could someone please create this in a flashable zip? I have no clue about pushing files with abd.

Good job on the battery mod. I like how it turned out. I did the one that changed my signal bars also. If I want to keep the battery but go back to the normal signal bars, what do I do?
Thanks for flashing! If you want to keep the battery, just flash the accurate battery mod by its self its the 1st zip on the first page . That will just do the battery.

Nope, It's all yours, . I'll start a new thread if I do anything else along these lines, which is doubtfull because I'm anxious to get my 3d in a couple weeks and I'll be focusing efforts on that. Feel free to delete my additions to the thread or incorporate them as your own.
With this mod, since it uses and charges in 1% it going to seem like your battery is draining pretty quick. It's not its just how it looks . Unless your a theme or Rom whore and you spend more time in recovery then charley sheen
Short and sweet, simple battery mods for stock CM7 nightly builds for the G2x. These will ONLY work for the CM7 Nightly build they were created for, so if you use a "74" mod of Nightly "76", it may or may not work.
These mods will completely replace the framework-res.apk file, so any previous theming will be reverted to stock CM7 theme.

very nice dude! now do u have to update these every so often? or can i just keep flashing nightlys then flash segmented battery mod with no problems?
I gotta keep these updated till I can make a morph of it, straight flashable zips seem to be the easiest method, but it's a PITA to update all the time. I'm gonna try and see if I can get a working morph created soon.

Good luck with that, if you figure it out let me know. I tried for a while, but something with the xml files wouldn't let them move from apk to apk. I'm not quite sure if it has to do with building the resources.arsc file or not....and now that I think about it, I don't think I ever tried to find that file and see if it could move from apk to apk. Hmmm. Or I'm just an idiot, I never rule that possibility out.

Thats the issue I always had trying to make battery mods as morphs. Its never the images, its always the XML files that cause issues (I think they may be modified during compile, casue Ive only gotten it working pushing pre-compiled XML files into a build). Will possibly try this weekend and see if I can get one working, but I spent a LOT of time a while ago and never got it working well :\ Worth an attempt though
EDIT: added RC1 battery mods
Think about making these possible to use with the gb update?

I already made a thread, but this mod is for CM7, which is already GB. As soon as the kitchen is alive again, although i think xboarder made one
I noticed you said your kitchens down =\ maybe a thought of updating these to work with the latest cm7? Per say eb 2.3.5. Lol =)

Not my Kitchen http://uot.dakra.lt/kitchen/ Its no secret, this is how I make these now
=/ Not about to try the version for nightlies or rc1. I tried the 4g icon by xboarder and it worked, except the usb icon, and then it said my sd card was damaged... Installed eb 2.3.5 again over my current files and it fixed it. Its nice having these for cm and now the new GB version though
Another vote for a version to work with EB 2.3.5.
I'm using this one and it works, along with the theme for 2.3.5 eb

Any update for those who are using nightly 96 or higher? I don't want to flash and risk being in boot loop.

Would this work on trigger Tom since its based on cm

It should work, I've been running the same battery mod (not this one) since nightly 60 with no issues. Bootloops are child's play, just make sure you do a backup prior to flashing. Also the worse that could happen is you get a battery status unknown symbol, then you'd just restore you backup. OR you could pull your SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk prior to flashing, if it screws up put your files in Zimps file in the correct locations and you'll have yourself a flashable restore zip.

Doubtful since the resources.arsc file in the framework-res.apk was based off of a CM7 nightly. If you try it you'll probably get the same indications as what I said above.
Oh, and someone hit the "Thanks" button in the OP for this man! Zimp takes time out his life to make these files, least you could do is hit that button if you download his mod.
Gonna update these soon, just been crazy with personal life ,testing all the new kernel code thats been around, now that LG's finally given us source, and woring on the Acer a500 tablet I just picked up. I'll hopefully update these and the rest of my battery mods shortly.....hopefully by the end of the week.
EDIT: Nightly 115 battery mods posted in OP
Nightly 115 battery mods works perfect for me
