Coming soon... AOSP Honeycomb Theme! - Samsung Mesmerize

Sorry, hate to tease but... I would release it but the battery icon is jacked, and no apps are done yet - hopefully they will be as easy as the framework was to port . I didn't make any of the images, they were made available to me thanks to the port done by bendbowden over at the fascinate forum (other credits located in his thread) I added in the colored horizontal progress bars and am working on some other tweaks
This is for the AOSP rom, it's required before flashing this - this is not compatible with any other rom.
Check it out;

Very clean, can't wait to give it a go.

If you want it as is, here you go let me know if you see any text edits I missed (colors)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DCEGH8B0
Requires the AOSP rom
Just disable lagfix and flash in CWM, no dalvik wipe needed. (actually I forgot to disable lagfix, whoops luckily I didn't bugger up the .zip so it didn't matter)

FYI - I found one I missed, the expanded menu is black on black

Niiiiiiiiiiiiice!!!! Any way you can port this for us lowly Showcase users on EB11???
Posted via my HTC EVO with 2.2 under the hood..

How did you change the menu bar background color in the 4th image? (I dont have this phone, I assume froyo AOSP is white like the name implies)
I'd like to modify my theme with a black menu background (I've searched and asked on the main themeing forum but couldnt find where the value is stored)
Is it possible to change it in a generic way or is it really specific to the rom/theme?

Lol what's with the EVO sig?
I thought Eli did a port of it already, you could ask him i'm not sure - I actually don't have your framework or I would for sure.

I dont think i woulda found that otherwise since it's the DHD subforum, hopefully that's what i need, thanks!
Edit: Hmm is it menu_background and menu_background_fill_parent_width? It the one in my theme is identical to the one in the stock GB build, would it be possible to get this theme's before it's released, just to be sure it's not my framework that's being weird? I'm only asking for those two specific files.

Haha, actually picked up an EVO for $50 from a guy that thought he bricked it... it was stuck in a boot loop. Loaded the factory RUU 2.1 file on it, it booted up just fine, then loaded the Factory 2.2 RUU file on it... Gonna use it as an "Android Alternative" to a brokeback ipod touch... Threw a spare 16gb micro sd I had lying around in it, ordered an otterbox, ordered a digitizer for it since this one has a small crack in it.. BETTER specs than a new ipod touch for less $$$.
I don't know that he did an EB11 Version of this... Not that I've seen.

I tried to get this to work on EC10 w/VooDoo & custom ROM and i just get sort of a screen saver and the phone occasionally vibrates, telling me that maybe a force close is happening in the background.. I would love to get this working. Can someone please tell me if this is possible for what I'm running?

This is only for the AOSP rom as started in the OP..., you could try the honey froyo EB16 theme, it should be compatible with what you're running but you should read more before you go flashing things...

Not to sound like a dumbass, but are you talking about the v0.9 pure AOSP rom, or the EC10 + AOSP "hybrid" rom that Phidelt made? I'd assume the pure AOSP, given the lock screen....
Thanks, though looks good, btw.

Pure AOSP only, this is just the framework-res.apk, phidelts combo rom uses the tw framework so eb16 themes work with it.

This was for the old version of AOSP, I have a port that I can get uploaded for the new version, think I still had a few tweaks to make but it was fully working. I hope you're talking about a mesmerize tho (I notice evo in sig)

Cant wait to try

Here is the honeycomb theme for v0.9.1, I think i still had some things to fix so let me know and I'll try to make time.

[PORT] Display Percent Battery Left within Battery Icon - Fresh 2.1.2+

I've seen a lot of chatter regarding the desire to port over the mod that was created originally, I believe by PaY87, and then ported to the EVO by kubino99.
While I generally prefer to create my own stuff, versus porting other's work, there seemed to be enough demand / desire for this, that I decided to give it a try.
I take no credit for the original mod, which is quite smart in how it was done, rather, I simply cracked open the applicable framework file (services.jar) to try and determine what was modified, and then worked to incorporate these changes, which were vast into our CDMA Hero services.jar file.
This will NOT change your battery icon / graphic in any way, it will simply add, in white text, the percent battery left, inside of your existing battery icon. While this is nice to have, if you are like me, you are now going to drive yourself crazy watching the percent value tick down!
The linked zip files, to be flashed via recovery, as mentioned, modifies a framework file, and as such, your initial boot will take a while after flashing, as your dalvik-cache will get rebuilt. This was built off of the Fresh 2.3.3 services.jar file.
FYI, since this modifies the services.jar file, the same file contains a previous mod I had done for removing the clock from the taskbar. As such, if you still do not want the clock in the taskbar, you will have to flash the mod that contains both changes (included below).

What ROM are you running? My best guess is you are running a stock / non-deodexed ROM, which this will not work on.
Just flashed...AWESOME! Thanks for the great work to everyone involved.
I flashed in recovery and there was no change when i rebooted.
im running fresh 2.3.3 with a 710 v4 kernel.
Edit: nevermind..upon a second reboot it worked..
idk..if it doesnt come up the first time..shut down and just reboot again.
ill give updates soon
* i dont know if its just the fact that i pulled my phone off the the charger after sending the file to sd but my batttery has dropped from 90 to 83 within a couple minutes

its gonna kill me clicking the screen on just to see what number the batter says
mrinehart93 made a port for the hero, its just the circle battery icon, flash that one first then flash the one in here that JsChiSurf made and you will have the circle battery with percent in the middle.
ps. you need to use clockwork recovery to flash the cirlce battery zip in the link below

You can read a little about odex verssus deodex ROMs in Flipz's post here.
What it comes down to, however, is deodexing allows us to then more easily modify the binaries (compiled executable code), to make the mods we make, then re-compile and release.
In general can I assume that a mod working for Fresh will (or at least might) also work on other de-odexed Sprint-based ROMs?

This rom is based on nfinitefx45 stock deoxed rom. It was rooted and came with apps2sd, i felt this was a good base and I wouldnt have to extract the RUU myself. I then made and added some features. I also added a few scripts and features from fresh rom.
This is my daily rom and it works very nicely. The reason I felt it was ok to upload is that I optimized the apks and combined features. It is more original then many roms that have been found here. The battery life is also very good, Iv gone a full day with moderate use and never went below 70%.
Much more to come and will try to keep updated.

The bottom bar is from an Evo rom VirusRom. The set up of the this post is also similiar to the VirusRom on the Evo threads. I wanted to put something similar to that on here for the Hero forums. The Hero forums are lacking in roms and style. So here is my attempt at it. I was impressed with the way Virus presented his rom.
Thanks to nfinitefx45, flipzmode, JsChiSurf and the Evo guy XxXViRuSXxX. Also to toast and darchstar for there work with the hero.

Another question, can i flash the rom and then a kernel back to back?
Idk about zens kernels. You can always try. If it doesn't boot then reflash the rom without wiping and it will replace the stock kernel. Also you can flash any thing back to back. Just do the rom first.

Here is my second X-MAS GIFT to you all why stop at one since I've been working hard.....
This is based on the DARK GLOSS MOD THEME from the Fascinate and has been PORTED to the MESMERIZE.. THANK YOU TO THE ORIG. DEV OF THAT ROM THATDUDEBUTCH and MERRY X-MAS to you all enjoy.....PLEASE LEAVE COMMENTS and FEEDBACK on any issues as it has been built on JT's CLEAN ROM and is without kernel and has been tested with NO issues to report...
IMPORTANT>12/24: MAY BE AN ISSUE GOING FROM PICK-N-PACK TO THESE I WILL SEE FOR NOW FLASH CLEAN 2 AND THEN VOODOO IF YOU ARE RUNNING VOODOO AND REBOOT THEN FLASH THIS AS IT IS BUILT OFF OF THE CLEAN ROM>>>IF YOU ARE NONVOODOO AND PICK-N-PACK JUST FLASH CLEAN 2 AND REBOOT AND THEN FLASH THIS AS I KNOW THIS WORKS AND FIRST BOOT TAKES A MIN. BE PATIENT HANGS FOR A MIN OR MORE MAKE SURE YOU REBOOT BETWEEN FLASHES....IF YOU ARE VOODOO YOU HAVE TO FLASH KERNEL OVER TOP OF CLEAN 2 BECAUSE THAT ONE HAS A NONVOODOO IN IT AND WILL MESS WITH YA IF YOU DONT YOU CAN DO THOSE 2 AT SAME TIME JUST DO THE KERNEL LAST AND YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO DISABLE LAG FIX AND YOU WILL BE FINE THAT WAY....THIS IS ONLY IF YOU ARE PICK-N-PACK THAT THIS APPLIES FOR NOW TO BE SAFE... Update:12/25... Everything is okay with the pick and pack rom But everything still applies about flashing a nonvoodoo kernel over a voodoo kernel as it always will..Thanks
INSTALL NOTEUT ON SD AND FLASH THRU CLOCKWORK-MOD RECOVERY NOT ROM MANAGER and as always DO A NANDROID BACKUP FIRST...This has the wire mesh drop down I love so much

IMPORTANT WARNING: Although it is nearly impossible to truly mess up your phone beyond simple repair, I must make this statement public for obvious reasons: I will NOT be held responsible for any data loss or phone damage of any kind due to the installation of this theme. It is your own personal decision to install any file I provide. Truthfully, over the past few months I have had almost every single issue happen to my phone and would be more than happy to assist you if you encounter any problems. After a check and a recheck, this will work just fine with the Pick-n-Pack ROM. Originally when I thought I tried flashing this, I was actually flashing the DJ05 Fascinate files that I had downloaded. It pays to watch what you are doing. I didn't realize that I had already downloaded it looking to start a port myself.
Again, all works well with the Pick-n-Pack. Well, all except the mms.apk, but this has nothing to do with the ROM. AOSP mms.apk has an issue on the Mesmerize that jt is still looking in to, trying to find out why picture messaging isn't 100% functional.

We've tried this in the past and didn't have luck with that, but I cannot say for sure with this one. I know that I did try just installing the stock mms.apk over the aosp version and it didn't work. It's worth a try, though.
Just installed and it works great!
Battery life?
Noob warning ! This is my 2nd rom (Dark Gloss/voodoo) and I think I'm not getting as good battery life as my 1st (Pick a Pack/voodoo). It is better than Pick a pack without voodoo. I think power configuration is the same.
Should I re-flash? Can I enable & disable Lag-fix in the recovery menu correctly?
Lastly can a backup made without Lag-fix enabled be restored to a Lag-fix enable phone? and of course any ideas about the battery issue? Thanx,Scott
_________________________
I re-flashed back to pick n pack/voodoo, battery noticeably better now. Don't know why.
Figured out the recovery lag-fix options (default) duh!
Still wondering about backups and restores, but I guess I'll only use lag-fix backups on lag-fixed hardware, and regular backups on regular HW.
Just wanted to say that I'm running the new voodoo kernel and this flashed just fine through the following steps;
boot to recovery;
do backup (it will reboot)
boot to recovery;
disable lagfix
reboot, hear robot chick
boot to recovery
clear dalvik/battery
install zip from sd
reboot (takes a few minutes to load, don't freak)
wa-la beatiful rom, scored 900 with lagfix disabled
enable lagfix, more robot chick
reboot - done.

Thanks everyone!
Does anyone else use this theme?
Just wondering because on mine some of the notifications (for example the weatherbug weather notification I receive through FancyWidget and the Lookout ongoing notification) the text is a dark grey on black background and the only way to read these is to hold your finger on them (they are then highlighted which reverses the colors)
Hoping this is just a setting on my end but I've been through them and nothing seems to be telling those to be that color So i'm wondering if that is just built into the rom (and if someone could be so kind as to make an edit).
Yea its just how the theme works out. I think that the color of that text must be difficult to change, cuz that's the way the retrokid revolution theme is too, which I what Im using.

Thanks for the quick replay! Much appreciated! What is the best, most advanced running theme on the HTC Hero. I am trying to surprise my wife before she wakes up to even a much cooler phone! Thanks! I have grabbed a couple from here that I'm sure she will like, but every time I go to install zip from sdcard and select the .zip file it says opening then installing then instantly goes back to the main menu of CMR. It does this with every theme I try. Is there something I am doing wrong? Thank for any advice!
My guess is its an amend update script instead of edify. Which version of CWM are you running? Try 2.5.x.x, might fix your issue

I have 2.5.0.7 Is it only specific themes that work on 2.1 htc hero us sprint cdma?
Give me a link to one of these themes you're trying to flash. Since you are using 2.5.x.x I doubt the script is the problem, but can't be sure yet.
The zips you're flashing might be MetaMorph zips which are not flashable via recovery.
Also what rom are you running?

The zips you're flashing might be MetaMorph zips which are not flashable via recovery.
Also what rom are you running?

I am running the latest stock firmware from sprint. 2.1update1. Nothing special. I tried Red Dawn V2 (Post #4), Dark Ginger, First Blood, Dark Envy, Invade's HTC Hero TF3D Manila 2.1 V2.0, kingx, honeycombv2, I am also looking for some kind of nuclear burnt yellow kind of theme. I have metamorph but it keeps telling I don't have enough room on my partition. I just unpartitioned my phone earlier today to bring it back to factory. Is there other methods than having to go through all of that....Please note..I am using a 512MB microSD card..my 8GB card doesn't work anymore and it's the only other microSD card I have left :/ My space is super limited...
OK, I looked at the themes quickly. First thing I noticed is they're not all for the same rom, and some are flashable zips while others are metamorphs.
Second, you said you're running the latest from Sprint (rooted) do you have any interest in trying other roms, or are you sticking with what you have? Doesn't really matter - just depends on whether you want sense, sprint apps, etc.
cm7 is super easy to get themes for off the market
2.1 sense stock from sprint would most likely have to be themed by a metamorph.
The sdcard size shouldn't be an issue, themes aren't going to be 500 mb so you should be fine there

Now that I have updated my HTC Hero to this amazing CM7 ROM I have a few questions. I have already found the gapps file and got that installed and that went through very smoothly. I was wondering if you could help me find a good source that I can go to that has links for different widgets. Clocks, weather, and any other various widgets that are decent at least for the HTC Hero.
Also, I see that CM7 comes with 3 colors of the theme right off the bat. Is there a source that I can go to that has really nice themes in one place specifically to the CM7 that are compatible with the HTC Hero?

I enjoy "fancy widgets" for a nice clock/weather widget in one.

I am using that now as a matter of a fact! I agree with it being a nice clock/weather setup!

Do you need to flash those themes when they are downloaded like roms? Is it plug and play? Is there a theme switcher set up?

[REQUEST] AOSP Status Bar / Notification Menu Theme for ICS

I've posted in a few sections and it seems to get burried, and I don't mean to spam, but would like to start a legit thread as I have a feeling lots and lots of users would really like this.
I am looking for someone to theme just the Notification Bar/Menu to look like this FOR THE ICS LEAK:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
APEX/NOVA (apex for me) handle the rest quite nicely. Willing to donate a decent amount to the person who can do this right, and at least two of my co-workers who also have the skyrocket would also much appreciate it, and I have a feeling the community as a whole would as well.
NOT looking for any other changes, hoping this makes things simple, and hopefully a quick mod.
Thanks a ton guys.
UPDATE:
This Dev was so kind as to fullfill my request for the most part, and is working on it to continue improve it.
Also added the 14 toggle: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1568128
+1 also put the 14 bar mod in it as well. I for the life of me borked my phone trying to get it in there following the instructions.

still dont know what 14 bar looks like, but I think id rather keep it seperate, but compatable is great
I also would really love this. Blue icons, 14 toggle mod (if possible), and no ATT logo.

i can atleast promise i'll get a vanilla theme up as soon as i can. as far as at&t logo we need the ics kernel if thats possible we can rip that apart and change bootanimation in there...
Deodexed version please.

Changing the system.ui is easy enough. If you can get me the zip file I can do it for you. But idk about the 14 toggle. I think you have to mess with xml's for that and I just did a fresh install of windows so I haven't re-downloaded the necessary tools yet lol.
Scratch that: This works fine I think.

Yes, did you follow the directions explicitely? Worked perfect for me first try.
That link that you posted, only works on racing's rom
"NOTE: THIS IS ONLY FOR Racing19969's [ROM] ***SkyRocket-ICS-Port-SGH-T989***"

Could you get the information needed to the dev of that Theme so he can include it in his next update? That would be awesome.

For help I'd post in the guys thread, as he is probably the only one who can really help you, did you clear cache and dalvik and restore permissions after flashing?

Anyone got this fixed that borked their notification bar as well? I posted on the thread for the dev, but also wanted to ask here in case someone who has a Skyrocket can assist since all the T-Mo folks seem to have it working just fine.... followed the instructions to a T!
EDIT - Turns out the deodexed ROM I was using wasn't deodexed and killed my notification bar.... I flashed a true deodexed ROM and then this, works great!!!
