HTC Hero 2.1 Rooted with Z4mod Confirmation Request - Hero CDMA Themes and Apps

Is it safe to manually power down from this screen? It's been there for more than what I'm thinking it should be. I just want to double check with someone to confirm if it's okay to manually reboot. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the quick replay! Much appreciated! What is the best, most advanced running theme on the HTC Hero. I am trying to surprise my wife before she wakes up to even a much cooler phone! Thanks! I have grabbed a couple from here that I'm sure she will like, but every time I go to install zip from sdcard and select the .zip file it says opening then installing then instantly goes back to the main menu of CMR. It does this with every theme I try. Is there something I am doing wrong? Thank for any advice!

My guess is its an amend update script instead of edify. Which version of CWM are you running? Try 2.5.x.x, might fix your issue

I have 2.5.0.7 Is it only specific themes that work on 2.1 htc hero us sprint cdma?

Give me a link to one of these themes you're trying to flash. Since you are using 2.5.x.x I doubt the script is the problem, but can't be sure yet.
The zips you're flashing might be MetaMorph zips which are not flashable via recovery.
Also what rom are you running?

I am running the latest stock firmware from sprint. 2.1update1. Nothing special. I tried Red Dawn V2 (Post #4), Dark Ginger, First Blood, Dark Envy, Invade's HTC Hero TF3D Manila 2.1 V2.0, kingx, honeycombv2, I am also looking for some kind of nuclear burnt yellow kind of theme. I have metamorph but it keeps telling I don't have enough room on my partition. I just unpartitioned my phone earlier today to bring it back to factory. Is there other methods than having to go through all of that....Please note..I am using a 512MB microSD card..my 8GB card doesn't work anymore and it's the only other microSD card I have left :/ My space is super limited...

OK, I looked at the themes quickly. First thing I noticed is they're not all for the same rom, and some are flashable zips while others are metamorphs.
Second, you said you're running the latest from Sprint (rooted) do you have any interest in trying other roms, or are you sticking with what you have? Doesn't really matter - just depends on whether you want sense, sprint apps, etc.
cm7 is super easy to get themes for off the market
2.1 sense stock from sprint would most likely have to be themed by a metamorph.
The sdcard size shouldn't be an issue, themes aren't going to be 500 mb so you should be fine there

Now that I have updated my HTC Hero to this amazing CM7 ROM I have a few questions. I have already found the gapps file and got that installed and that went through very smoothly. I was wondering if you could help me find a good source that I can go to that has links for different widgets. Clocks, weather, and any other various widgets that are decent at least for the HTC Hero.
Also, I see that CM7 comes with 3 colors of the theme right off the bat. Is there a source that I can go to that has really nice themes in one place specifically to the CM7 that are compatible with the HTC Hero?

Do you need to flash those themes when they are downloaded like roms? Is it plug and play? Is there a theme switcher set up?

[MOD / Morph] Spin-X Battery

Hey guys, another attempt at a new battery design. I really like this one, and not sure if anyone has anything similar. I am using the BakedSnack 9.7 framework-res for replacement, so use at your own risk. 100% works just fine with any BakedSnack. Have no tested on any other ROM, so ALWAYS do a NAND backup. Anyways, to the good stuff::

---------Older / Seperate flashable files-----------
- Spin-X (BakedSnack)
- Spin-X (CM6-RC1) - (CM6 Nightly Build 7/30/2010) *Please note I wont be making one for every nightly release. ^_^ Until I can do what im trying to figure out, anyways. *
- Spin-X (DamageControl 3.2.3)
- Spin-X (Fresh 1.0.1)
Simply flash your version in recovery. Should work, so let me know if you flash it. Feedback always appreciated!!

I am using the 7/29 nightly as well. I tried to flash the RC1 file and was stuck in a loop at the boot logo. That said, I'm not sure if the problem was the rom version or the fact that I have a customized notification bar. Using cyanogenmod settings, I had previously changed the colors of the bar and added the percentage to the battery. YMMV.
Glad I backed up

i ran a nan BU just now and flashed it since I havent changed the CM6 notification or status bar.
I did get the same boot logo loop... So it looks like it has to do with the version.
I guess I will wait for him to make it compatible with the latest nightly...
This is by far the best battery ive seen though.
Thanks for the positive feedback everyone! I really appreciate it.
I'm trying to figure out how to properly use MetaMorph so I dont have to have a million different versions... until then, I just added one for the 7/30/2010 nightly build. Enjoy

Woot, just figured out MetaMorphs finally. It was way easier than I first thought. Anyways, the Morph file is now available for download, and u can morph it using MetaMorph. (its an app, of course, maybe for those who dont know? )
Should work with ANY ROM, and any version. Just morph it!
Now that I figured it out, I will be using MetaMorph for my future themes / batteries and what not.. Im actually relieved. ^_~
Enjoy!
Thanks NovaFox! The MetaMorph version worked just fine with CM6 nightly 7/29. I didnt want to take a chance with the nightly version you posted. That's a slick battery man! Nice work, indeed.

This rom is based on nfinitefx45 stock deoxed rom. It was rooted and came with apps2sd, i felt this was a good base and I wouldnt have to extract the RUU myself. I then made and added some features. I also added a few scripts and features from fresh rom.
This is my daily rom and it works very nicely. The reason I felt it was ok to upload is that I optimized the apks and combined features. It is more original then many roms that have been found here. The battery life is also very good, Iv gone a full day with moderate use and never went below 70%.
Much more to come and will try to keep updated.

remapped bottom rosie (phone - apps - messages) thx to JsChiSurf (see above for handcent rosie)
Much more to come...
The bottom bar is from an Evo rom VirusRom. The set up of the this post is also similiar to the VirusRom on the Evo threads. I wanted to put something similar to that on here for the Hero forums. The Hero forums are lacking in roms and style. So here is my attempt at it. I was impressed with the way Virus presented his rom.
Thanks to nfinitefx45, flipzmode, JsChiSurf and the Evo guy XxXViRuSXxX. Also to toast and darchstar for there work with the hero.
I have been using cyanogenmod for the past 5+ months and recently switched back to sense. So please don't tell me that you prefer or think its better. They are two completely different roms. I also am not new to this and not new to these forums. Just haven't been very active past couple months.
Here are the screen shots. The notification bar (charge, usb debugging) isnt as red anymore. Also the phone app isnt messed up. It was me deleting the numbers with photoshop.
I changed the notification drop down background.. Let me know if it looks better know. I dont have the hero to take screen shot right now.
Whoa. Not often we have new ROMs around here. Excited to see what you've got in store!

Does Zen's any kernel work with this as well? I am running aloysius with it and setcpu right now.

Another question, can i flash the rom and then a kernel back to back?
Idk about zens kernels. You can always try. If it doesn't boot then reflash the rom without wiping and it will replace the stock kernel. Also you can flash any thing back to back. Just do the rom first.

very very liking this theme with widgetlocker theme on my TAB
just awesome nice work)
Excellent theme!
looks very nice any other way to install this for those of us that do not have CWR (i have JMI and still not one available) or dont want to download bootstrap as there are a lot of negative comments and do not feel like reflashing JMI and restoring tab?
EDIT: ok so i decided to go ahead and install the international bootstrap, it installed it did its backup and all but the thing is that when i boot into recovery and try to install the.zip it is not listed anywhere, any suggestions?

that's because you're using roto rom according to your signature. only modaco or overcome have them.

[Mod] Accurate Battery Mods for CM7 RC1 & Nightly Builds - Updated 8/22/11

Short and sweet, simple battery mods for stock CM7 nightly builds for the G2x. These will ONLY work for the CM7 Nightly build they were created for, so if you use a "74" mod of Nightly "76", it may or may not work.
These mods will completely replace the framework-res.apk file, so any previous theming will be reverted to stock CM7 theme.

very nice dude! now do u have to update these every so often? or can i just keep flashing nightlys then flash segmented battery mod with no problems?
I gotta keep these updated till I can make a morph of it, straight flashable zips seem to be the easiest method, but it's a PITA to update all the time. I'm gonna try and see if I can get a working morph created soon.

Good luck with that, if you figure it out let me know. I tried for a while, but something with the xml files wouldn't let them move from apk to apk. I'm not quite sure if it has to do with building the resources.arsc file or not....and now that I think about it, I don't think I ever tried to find that file and see if it could move from apk to apk. Hmmm. Or I'm just an idiot, I never rule that possibility out.

Thats the issue I always had trying to make battery mods as morphs. Its never the images, its always the XML files that cause issues (I think they may be modified during compile, casue Ive only gotten it working pushing pre-compiled XML files into a build). Will possibly try this weekend and see if I can get one working, but I spent a LOT of time a while ago and never got it working well :\ Worth an attempt though
EDIT: added RC1 battery mods
Think about making these possible to use with the gb update?

I already made a thread, but this mod is for CM7, which is already GB. As soon as the kitchen is alive again, although i think xboarder made one
I noticed you said your kitchens down =\ maybe a thought of updating these to work with the latest cm7? Per say eb 2.3.5. Lol =)

Not my Kitchen http://uot.dakra.lt/kitchen/ Its no secret, this is how I make these now
=/ Not about to try the version for nightlies or rc1. I tried the 4g icon by xboarder and it worked, except the usb icon, and then it said my sd card was damaged... Installed eb 2.3.5 again over my current files and it fixed it. Its nice having these for cm and now the new GB version though
Another vote for a version to work with EB 2.3.5.
I'm using this one and it works, along with the theme for 2.3.5 eb

Any update for those who are using nightly 96 or higher? I don't want to flash and risk being in boot loop.

Would this work on trigger Tom since its based on cm

It should work, I've been running the same battery mod (not this one) since nightly 60 with no issues. Bootloops are child's play, just make sure you do a backup prior to flashing. Also the worse that could happen is you get a battery status unknown symbol, then you'd just restore you backup. OR you could pull your SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk prior to flashing, if it screws up put your files in Zimps file in the correct locations and you'll have yourself a flashable restore zip.

Doubtful since the resources.arsc file in the framework-res.apk was based off of a CM7 nightly. If you try it you'll probably get the same indications as what I said above.
Oh, and someone hit the "Thanks" button in the OP for this man! Zimp takes time out his life to make these files, least you could do is hit that button if you download his mod.
Gonna update these soon, just been crazy with personal life ,testing all the new kernel code thats been around, now that LG's finally given us source, and woring on the Acer a500 tablet I just picked up. I'll hopefully update these and the rest of my battery mods shortly.....hopefully by the end of the week.
EDIT: Nightly 115 battery mods posted in OP
Nightly 115 battery mods works perfect for me
