Home launcher preferences - EVO 4G Themes and Apps

What is everyone's home launcher of choice??? I mean like adw, or go launcher? I'm using helauncher.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App

Ive tried many launchers and my favorite is LauncherPro due to its lite weight and very clean.

I had to move AWAY from Launcher Pro because it's a resource hog. Liking Go Launcher EX so far. At least a little quicker.

Launcherpro is my favourite, although I've never tried go. Been thinking about trying go to compare.

I've tried alot of them and kinda gave up and stuck with whatever the ROM I'm using has. I wish there was a way to take adw off if cm7 ...its almost useless lol.

Speaking of launchers, does anyone know where to get the Stock Gingerbread launcher?
My phone (stock root of 4.24) only has Sense available. Was bored and work and wanted to see what true stock Android looks like. I found the Gingerbread keyboard already, but all the ones in the market say they are mods of the stock launcher.
BTW, searching the EVO sub-forum for "gingerbread keyboard" gives me links to nearly ever recent ROM thread.

Search the market for "gingerbread launcher", there are several available.

I have both Launcherpro Plus and Adw Ex and while I generally prefer LPP, sometimes Adw just feels smoother...

I tried lpp and didn't really dig it too much. So I'm sticking with the adw that cm7 comes with for a while. I guess I just give up too quickly lol. Eh oh well

+1 - Go Launcher is great

@conquistador
Ditto. The ex version is do much better than the stock version that cubes with cm7. I also used go launcher ex got a while too. But their app drawer is kinda ugly, and they didn't have a 3d app drawer option when I last used it.
Swyped from my Beast Mode Evo!

Go launcher. Hands down. I like it's customization. Even though they are all highly customizable, I prefer go launcher and it's app drawer.

Once you install LPP you can actually uninstall MySense
LPP for sure and for keeps. Its going to take a phenominally better launcher and adw doesn't even come close to that requirement.

I used ADW but then moved to LPP soon after. ADW was a pain to resize widgets, LPP can do it on the fly + has much more features.

Can I use custom icons with it? (never even used ADW)
Can I enable 7 screens like LPP?
Does it have scrollable widgets like LPP's facebook?
Can I change what the icons open?
I'm definitely considering buying this, I just need to know a few basic things before I do y'know? Sorry if these questions sound stupid.
Yes you can use custom icons. Long press and icon you want to change and off you go. Was never really keen on using ADW till now, easily trumps LP IMO and worth the $$$.

You have to enter ADW Settings to get to your system settings. Very unintuitive.
I've bought both EX and LPP. The eye candy of EX is nice, but LPP is a touch more refined as of right now in terms of practicality.

What version 4.0 are you talking about? I only see 1.4 in the market.

Possibly a dumb question, but...

Why do some phones have different home screens when running the same OS? Example: the Infuse has a much different overall look than other phones that run Froyo.
Might be a dumb question, but its a curiosity.
That's the beauty of android....every manufacturer gives their individual android devices their own personality....

Maybe not stock as previusly mentioned since Infuse stock its not naked its actually running Touchwiz, HTC stock is running sense.
Naked I think means as for the called "vanilla" android meaningno customization per manufacturer, nothing like touchwiz or sense or motoblur on top of the "original" android home sreen the "AOSP" home screen.

Also in top of the touchwiz or sense or motoblur, the home screens can change as you can run different home launchers (launcher pro plus, go launcher ex, regina launcher, 3d spb shell) to mention some.
And of course even in the same launcher everyone can vastly customize theyre home screens as everyone likes(with widgets, no widgets, 1 screen, 7screens, full of apps, no apps at all) without mentioning the still wallpaper or the live wallpapers.
So basicly... If you are on Android its gonna be REALLY hard that 2 home screens are the same.
And that for me its Android .

Yeah stock android. no skining or anything. naked. For example this is stock android 2.3, its naked see, no sense, touchwiz, motoblur.

[BEST LAUNCHER] Zeam Launcher

Hey guys, heres a question that i'm pretty sure most of you guys always wondered,
What is the best launcher for your phone?
theres always options like apex, nova, and holo, and comments like how they're buttery smooth..
i've had many devices and i found that apex's scrolling has slight lag and icon loading when you come back to home, nova is smooth MOST of the time(which means it does lag sometimes), and holo is like a mixture of the two.
I hated sense for its appearance, but always ended up going back to sense because sense launcher is the smoothest of the four.., the scrolling is buttery just like an iphone/ipod, if you guys ever compared
So I've found a fix for all of that, ZEAM LAUNCHER. Zeam has not lagged at all since i've downloaded it, its scrolling is smooth, and snappy. I dont see any lag or low fps scrolling at all on it. AND it has the pure android look! Finally a launcher i'm satisfied with
so try it out, test the scrollings, compare it to your current launchers, tell me what you guys think about ZEAM launcher
PS was running cleanrom 5.0 and now running Viper 2.0, STILL best launcher!
Remember to click thanks if I made your phone faster

yeah the reason why i didnt mention launcher pro, adw, and go launcher is because they're more for the gingerbread era, 2.2/2.3 ish

I'm also back to sense now, but I might try something else when I'll get bored. Haven't tried zeam since the vivid days, but I'll give it a go on hox, to see what's going on. I remember it's simplistic look though.

apex or nova for me. i've been using the free version of apex for over a month and haven't seen any lag or anything that would be disappointing. same with nova when I tested that out.
our phones are fast (even unrooted), they don't need a launcher built for slow/old phones to keep the lag away.
