So I've noticed since I installed SetCPU now that it supports Tegra 2 devices that buttons when I'm in-call lag. I'm running EB 1.05 FR with stock kernel which I believe is faux's. Anyway's I have setcpu set to run at max 1500 and min of 400. I have 2 profiles set up one is to run 1500 max and 1500 min when charging AC and the other profile is set 400 max and 400 min when screen is off. I've noticed though that when I'm in a call and I take the phone away from my face and the screen turns back on and I go to hit speakerphone or end call it lags really bad and takes a few seconds to register the press. Anyone else experience this since using SetCPU? Thanks in advance!
Nope. Running cm7 and faux older kernel. No overclock on mine but do have profile for in call at 500. Also running it on a powersave governor
ITS ALL WONKY!!!

Quick question. What is the benefit of locking the cpu at 1500 when charging?
I allow a range for the phone. On my screen off profile I have a min of 216 and max of 312 and my lock screen issues went away. I have been experimenting with different ranges and priorities for an in-call profile but have not found the sweet spot that completely eliminates the call screen lag.
Would love to know the settings others are using including priority.
For example, should I make my in-call profile a priority of 100 and the screen off profile a 90 so it does not interfere with the in-call profile?

So im using a CM7 nighlies right now and i just got SetCPU and i was wondering what profiles should i set up and how should i set them up cause all i care about right now is making battery life a better.
As for me, I only have two profiles set up. One for screen off set at 245mhz min/max on powersave/conservative @ 90 priority and one for battery temp greater >45 degree C set at 614 mhz max 245mhz min @ 95 priority, on conservative. I've been using this setup on Fresh 3.5 with Netarchy's 4.3.1 stable kernel and my phone has been off the charger for 22 hours with about 20% remaining battery and thats with moderate usage and with WiFi on entire time. You can have unlimited profiles set up based on remaining battery, battery temp, etc and set up the profiles with higher priorities with higher priority number designation. Even though Net's kernel allows me to underclock all the way to 128 mhz, my phone does not like to me underclocked that low.
I'll try that out see how it works
Max 1200000
Min 1000000
On demand
Profiles
Temp > 50.0 C 400 max 200 min (enabled)
Screen Off 400 max 100 min (enabled)
Charging 1200 max 1000 min (disabled)
Battery < 50% 1000 max 800 min (enabled)
Is this good? It seems like it lags because with on demand, it seems to go down to 100000 and 200000 from time to time but most of the time, it's fine.
That probably will lead to more battery hours though instead of always keeping it at above 1000000 using performance scaling.
Which kernel are you running?

I'm running netarchy 1.3.0.5 CFS with stock 2.3.3 ROM.
I don't use profiles if I use setcup with his kernel. Profiles seems to slow things down and drain more battery on the nexus s. If I use this kernel with cm7 then i don't use setcpu at all. I use the built in cpu control in the performance tab.
i dont use any profiles, i find them to cause a lot of trouble

So if you were to only use the main setting, what would be ideal max/min and scaling?
Right now, I have 1200 max, 1000 min on-demand scaling.

mines currently 100 mhz 1000 mhz ondemand. ive never played around with it because battery life is amazing already, so i dont want to mess with it.

I'll try that setting and see. It seems like there is a problem with XDA premium app. I've had three occasions when I open XDA, it force closes, that also force closes launcher.
Hmm..
Other than that 100 min 1000 max seems smooth with all profiles disabled.

Try fixing permissions in clockwork / rom manager.
Wiping cache and dalvik isn't too bad either. you don't lose anything
Hi. Trying to understand SetCPU.
There are two things I don't understand. That is MAX MHZ and MIN MHz...
Have seen some screenshots that people only change the MAX MHz. Why? And why not MIN MHz?

In essence it's to let the phone run at slower speeds when it can. This helps keep the phone cool and preserve battery power.
When I used SetCPU I used to create profiles to slow the phone down (lower the MAX) progressively as the battery % got lower. I also set it to Lowest/Very low when the screen was off.
Even now on my Sensation I'm at 192/648 screen on and 182/384 screen off. Obviously YMMV, it depends if the stuff you do on the phone works well enough at the lower frequencies. If I find it too low for something I just crank it up.

Thanks man!
Anyone else that uses VC to OC having a weird issue where it randomly sets the max speed to 800 on its own? Just noticed it today, musta started with the latest update which I believe was yesterday.
I keep the max speed at 800 unless I need more anyways, so I wouldn't notice that. However, when you plug it into your computer, the governor automatically switches to conservative. When you unplug it from your computer, it switches to ondemand. This is only for the computer, not AC.
Voltage Control Extreme works fine for me.

Do you happen to use some battery saver apps like "battery saver", it will throttle your cpu, unless you set default cpu of the app to the max frequency (1000 or 1200).
i aleary set cpu to max 1.8ghz and min 1.6ghz how to st it?? i did try to set it too 1.8mina nd max but my phone hangs and powerd-off!!! how to set it?!
Hey. I wouldnt recommend your current srtup at all unless you want horrible battery life and massive amounts of heat however i sont have an answer for your predicament, try using another app with the same function?

listen to me. set it like I say:
max frequency 1512
min frequency 384
governor interactive
go to profiles and create a new profile. set:
screen off
max 432
min 192
governor conservative
priority 100
this way you have a good performing phone and with screen off a power saving profile. with this configuration I have 15 hours battery (enough for a day) of mid use...with data activated and live wallpaper
Nice stats ! I'm going to try that!

Some phones can handle higher frequency then others if your phone can't go over 1.8 well there is nothing you can do..
Swyped From My Sensation.
I SET IT TO this But anyway i don't care battery life
Dont OC much
dude that's friggin gih frequency's. Dont push it too hard, it'll do no good to the processor. Besides, what do you need that kind of power for ? Runing Crysis ?
