I am using samsung Vibrant. I saw a post for a new cm7 tron rom posted today. I wanted to ask if you have to do anything special to flash this rom? There are no instructions. Is there anything special to flash, or just use clock work recovery,
and wipe first, then flash rom, then wipe cashe, then wipe davik, fix permissions is the way I flash all roms .
Thanks

just wipe data, system, boot, cache, dalivik install the rom then gapps its pretty much the same process on any phone.
Also cyanogenmod should have a wiki if it supports your phone.

Hey all, I'm running 2.3.3 Cyanogen 7 mod and when I first installed the mod I had no market. So I re installed it and the market was in there, I have since followed one of the solutions on the samsung galaxy forum regarding different themed markets and how to set them up.
This may seem stupid however I was able to get it working previously before updating to 2.3.3, in short I tried to install zip from SD card and the market has dissapeared and no longer is installed, I tried to install it again and even downloaded the stock and tried to install it as a .apk but it just wont work. I don't want to re-install 2.3.3 if possible but can't see any other options?
I've tried searching for any other threads about this but couldn't find any which actually gave an answer, has anybody seen or had this issue before?

http://goo-inside.me/gapps/ if you can't find them, choose the CM7 version in the table at the top.
More specifically you should download this : http://goo-inside.me/gapps/gapps-gb-20110307-signed.zip and install the zip file via cwm recovery

Hey guys, thanks for those speedy responses - this is why I love the XDA forum!!
Sadly installing the Google apps didn't work either, all looked to install but after clearing the cache and fixing permissions (just to be sure) there was no market installed when I rebooted
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Just after flashing the rom you must reboot and in your first reboot login with your Google account.

Ah so I do have to reflash the Tom, bummer - that's what I was hoping to not have to do :-(
If its gotta be done then its gotta be done I spose, cheers for all the help.

Cod ball, reflash your rom without wiping anything, after that flash gapps and reboot.

My phone has been completely f'ed all day. So far ive restored 2 times. Ive tried to start all over by downloading infused than installing gb rom (the order in which i did it the first time) but when i go to the gtg section i get a pop up saying contact dev. I than used the roms from my sd card. I flashed infused 1.x.x, it flashed fine but all of atts crap apps were still there. Next i removed voodoo folder and flashed gb rom, that flashed fine, seemed anyway. When my phone rebooted i thought it was all set besides the fact i had no notification pull down and no status tools up top, att apps still present. I did the updated gb non rainbows update when it came out but that wasnt what i just flashed and i have no idea where its at. Im lost and pissed.

Gtg took the links down because people were *****ing about network speeds. So he's trying to fix it. Should be up tomorrow

This is one reason I don't use ROM Manager - I keep multiple backups of anything that might be important.
Cool, as far as my other issues go with flashing, should i download new roms when the link is up? Not sure why the ones on my sd are so messed up

Nash if u boot in to recovery it doesnt prompt u to wipe dalvik and cache you have to volume rocker down to them wipe both then install the rom. If you download from romanager you get promted and the option to wipe!
hope this helps

It would have helped if I still had roms on my sdcard. After using the unbrick tool a few other things wernt working (app download and gtalk) so I made myself do a system restore...lost everything. Now I'm at the mercy of the devs. Can't wait for the links to be up.

There is a link for an experimental version in the thread search for it.
Do you have to completely return to stock to update to the new 2.3.7, as in if you want to keep all your original apps, homescreens, and all that like it would if you would just do the OTA update? or can you just OEM lock your phone then do the update and then unlock and reinstall recovery?
i just cleared cache/davlik and installed the new stock rooted from pete.
Really depends what Rom he running. If he's running a rooted stock rom, then yeah cache and d.cache

Okay so I've been looking at using shiftrr for my speedy running android 2.3.3. Yes I know I can't run it with the two point three but I am gonna have a sprint repair shop downgrade it to 2.2. I was looking for a detailed install guild from the beginning stages of shiftrr to the end steps of the cyanogenmod 7 install. I'm having some doubts and really worried about bricking my phone. And that is why I ask. Thanks

6) install zip from sdcard, choose cm7 latestnightly zip
7) install google apps 828 same way
8) install newtalk same way
9) reboot phone
10) wait 10 minutes while phone is rebooting/rebuilding dalvik

No not like wikipedia.. like this wiki:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_Speedy
Use the free version of ROM manager.
Do you have root?
And I really can't be much more explanatory than that.
Keep in mind this is my first attempt at rooting or using custom roms. I've also read alot about these topics I am asking for, using this xda app. So I have tried. But I just don't have enough experience to understand alot of the terms you all use. I've also noticed that you are very active on the topics i've been looking for. So thanks

No problem I suggest you get on the IRC chat room. Do you know how to use IRC?

Sweet I didn't even now about the wiki. It looks promising. And no I don't have root yet. I need to wait a couple days to go to the sprint repair store for the android 2.2 downgrade.

You will have to reflash, but I don't think that you have to wipe caches, or re-do any of your previous mods you did the last time.
Sent from my SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
I actually just flashed it. You can run the script as many times as you want to make adjustments. Clear caches. At least that's what's posted in the thread. For me it went off w/o a hitch. I'm running seanzscreams skyjelly.
