No one knows. Samsung is updating the Galaxy S i9000 phones - but that Froyo build is not for us. It may not be until December for USA phones. No one knows.

I been waiting? Nobody knows when the official is going to drop. You are not the only person waiting for it. Install the leaked and be happy with that for now.

Just root it already, you won't be disappointed.
I'm waiting too. My phone has cognition 2.2 but I'm making my wife keep her's stock so I know when the update rolls out.

That's Samsung UK press release. Nothing related to Samsung US.
So, if UK is getting update until end of Nov, US won't start until Dec. at the earliest.

Yea same here, I've read o2x got it already I figure the g2x is next but no new News to follow up on.

From what I understand, the O2x has a leaked, unreleased copy. I think MIUI Twitter posted a couple of days ago that they were having difficulties in testing or something to that nature.
Here is the posting:

Hey guys, the official MIUI for o2x is still unstable, so we decide not to release it until it is stable. Sorry for the delay.

Update Software?

I just got my touchpad and saw that there was an update. Should I update? or Should i just leave it in the older software?
Update it. You will be glad you did. There isn't a downside to it, but you will need to keep an eye over the download to keep it going.

LG sucks with updates. None of their promised ICS updates have come through yet, including the phone I'm using now.

Yeah I went to Lg Open Source software yesterday and looked up files for my phone,.... This was there too,.... You would have to compile it with the android -Sdk, but it should work perfectly accourding to the ReadMe inside of it:
LS840(Viper)_Android_ICS_4.0.4_r1_US_Sprint_Opensource_LS840ZVG.zip
mediafire.com/download.php?w01v1hahrme3stx
