Hello! I am new to this forum and Android.
In fact I have a little Android 'used on my nokia n900 nitdroid with the project, but what about the field "hacking" I do not know much. I'm a programmer, I think I understand pretty well and know how to hack.
I would like to ask you a bit 'of information, and if some guidance.
I recently purchased a Samsung YP-g50cw Galaxy player. We carry a little 'feature that I read from the information system:
Firmware Version: 2.1-Update1
Kernel Version: 2.6.29
Build Number: ECLAIR.JL3_EU
I recently ran the "root" of my device, but frankly I can not do something fundamental to upgrade. I wish I could go from version 2.1 to version 2.2 or higher. The fact is that KIES tells me that for my firmware upgrade can not run, so look for a solution "manual".
Assuming that as the operating system I use Linux Ubuntu 10.10, the best thing would be if you could provide special software for my system. Otherwise I can always use my brother's computer with Windows XP Service Pack 3 (where I just tried KIES).
Thank you all and congratulations to all of you for this wonderful forum which I think I fond.
P.s.: I'm Italian, Latina, near Rome

Hi all,
Sorry if this wrong ask since this forum is dedicate to HTC Device
Does anyone know if its possible to install an Android rom on the MotoSurf A3100?
Dualbot with WM it will be great.
Thanks a lot.
No, I do not believe there is any effort to port the Android operating system to the Motosurf A3100, or any other device in that product line. Because Android (and the Linux kernel it runs on) require decent hardware support for the system they are running on, none of the Android packages posted on this forum will work on your device either.
Hello to the forum
I'm not sure if I'm right here. But I have found no category for this device, so I put it under a general Android.
My question is, is it possible to start on the Superpad 2 / 3 Flytouch another OS? I would like to test out MeeGo or Ubuntu. Both there are in an ARM compatible version. My Linux skills are good, I'm not afraid to work deep in the system.
The device is already rooted. Device Information:
Android2.2-20,110,316
Kernel: 2.6.32.9
What interests me now how I can run a different system of microSD? What are the key combination to turn it on when? I have already asked Google, but nowhere was found suitable.
I thank you all for your tips and sorry my bad English
Hello folks,
I am fairly new to the Android OS so please be gentle
I took the plunge and finally got a smart TV from Haier which came with the 2.3.4 Android system. All is fine an cherry in 2.3.4 town as of now (apart from its horribly looking user interface design). But was wondering if i could install the 4.0 update ?
Isnt the android system like any other where you have one default version of the OS that comes from google and then there are variants from the open-source community ? If so then which is the best stable version and where can i find it.
Installation of the 2.3.4 OS is on an MMC that i copied from the technicians that came home to fix the TV so i am fine with a backup and the procedure for the install from an MMC. But i assume that if i download the OS from the internet then the procedure will be a bit different ?
I'll update more of the details (Kernel version etc) when i get home. All this because the manufacture - Haier - does not provide updates online or on its website or anywhere on the web. Appreciate any help.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Gaj - I have the same question which you have. Did you get any response from anyone or have you now upgraded to the latest version ?
If you have the latest firmware to upgrade , please share it with me or else please share the OS back up what you have as I don't even have it
please help me
Regards

Hi All,
I have a Symbol/Motorola MC7090 it's currently running Windows Mobile 5.0 with messaging and security feature pack.
I cannot connect via Wifi and I cannot get the barcode scanner to work.
It was used by a developer to test there apps, I was told that it was reset back to factory specs.
Has anyone got a ROM so that I can put Android on this??
Best Regards

I hate to revive this post, but I have the same sort of question. Please let me know if I need to start a new thread. In my case, I have two ROMs from "Zebra" (who seems to have taken over this part of that company). Mine is also the MC40, but the question I have is what do I need to do to essentially convert this from a Windows 7 CE device, to an Android device. I have the drivers for both the Win version and the Android version. I also have 3 of the Android devices and 2 of the Win devices. The model numbers are exactly the same, only the OS is different. Im doing this for the company I work for. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
