[Q] Haier L3D42D25N smart TV software update

Hello folks,
I am fairly new to the Android OS so please be gentle
I took the plunge and finally got a smart TV from Haier which came with the 2.3.4 Android system. All is fine an cherry in 2.3.4 town as of now (apart from its horribly looking user interface design). But was wondering if i could install the 4.0 update ?
Isnt the android system like any other where you have one default version of the OS that comes from google and then there are variants from the open-source community ? If so then which is the best stable version and where can i find it.
Installation of the 2.3.4 OS is on an MMC that i copied from the technicians that came home to fix the TV so i am fine with a backup and the procedure for the install from an MMC. But i assume that if i download the OS from the internet then the procedure will be a bit different ?
I'll update more of the details (Kernel version etc) when i get home. All this because the manufacture - Haier - does not provide updates online or on its website or anywhere on the web. Appreciate any help.
Thanks in advance.
Gaj
Hi Gaj - I have the same question which you have. Did you get any response from anyone or have you now upgraded to the latest version ?
If you have the latest firmware to upgrade , please share it with me or else please share the OS back up what you have as I don't even have it
please help me
Regards
Sri

[Completed] [Q] Huawei Y511-T00 Rom in English

Hello All,
Long time lurker but finally I have not been able to find a solution to my problem.
I made the mistake of purchasing a Y511-T00 on a recent trip to china after quickly reading the box which said WCDMA. There was a sticker on the side however that said TD-SCDMA. Anyway finally home I realise no 3G. Which I can live with 90% of my time online is via wifi and mobile wifi device.
The issue has come now where I need to get a better ROM for the phone. I have some half baked english rom that is laggy and does not save credentials for facebook etc. In fact I am at a point where I would not mind getting the Huawei stock with emotion UI. The details of the phone are as follows
Model Number : HUAWEI Y511-T00 (China Mobile)
Android version : 4.2.2
Baseband version MOLY.WR8.W1319.MD.TG.MP.V4.P18 , 2013/07/31 15:37
Kernel Version 3.4.5
Build Number : Y511-U30V100R001C328B120
Hardware version : VER.A
If anyone can assist with a guide on how to change the rom and maybe confirm if i can use the y511-u00 roms as I need something in english I would greatly appreciate it. Also any directions to a forum for support for this phone with other users in English would be great
Thanks so much

[Completed] Updating OS on a Visual Land VL-107?

Hello. I'm not sure if this is a good place to ask, but at this point, it can't really get much worse. I know that this is a good, reliable site, and I figured that if anyone could help me, they'd be here.
I got a VL-107 (Visual Land Prestige 7) the other day and it's been a nightmare. I can't use Pandora because it crashes constantly, I can't use my favorite texting app because it freezes and crashes the moment I start typing, I can't use Snapchat because "my device isn't compatible". I spent several hours yesterday just getting the Play Store installed and working.
I suspect that the OS is the main problem (4.1.1, but I've never seen such a horrible Android OS, so I don't know if it's clean), and I'd like to update to a more recent Android version (hopefully 4.4.2 or so). I've seen a lot of stuff talked about, like Clockwork Mod, something called LiveSuit, etc but the most recent .img file I've seen was I believe 4.0.3, so obviously that's not what I'm going for.
In some places (maybe tabletroms), I've seen talk of people being able to make modifications by treating their VL-107s as "Allwinner tablets", but I didn't fully understand whether that would still be valid. I'm willing to do some experimentation with updating if need be, since at this point I basically consider the tablet as good as bricked.
I have a basic understanding of installing ROMs, and my tablet is rooted. There are no system updates available.
Specs (I don't fully understand these, so go easy on me):
Model Number: VL-107
Android Version: 4.1.1
Baseband Version: inet1.0_20121016
Kernel Version: 3.0.8+, [email protected] #19, Fri Jun 21 14:04:01 CST 2013
Build Number: 86FV0620130715W01G01T01

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
Based on the kernel version, looks like you have been upgraded to something custom already, and it's buggy. You may want to go back to 4.0.3 for some stability. At that point, some of the failed apps you tried may start working (assuming they don't have a minimum requirement of JellyBean or KitKat).
I would, check out this thread, it's the best place where your device experts can be found:
> General discussion > Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking > Creating a Backup/Recovery/Dump
Note, in order to post there, you will need to have an XDA account.
Hope this helps, and good luck!

Thanks a lot, I found out that I'm registered already so I'm going to head over to that board right now and see what I can find. I'm happy to go back to an older version if it means a working tablet.

[Completed] Android tablet won't download+ other problems

I've got an Android tablet that I cannot download anything to.
Tried a hardset restore a few times that didn't help.
I think something or things got force deleted by mistake.
It's a Chinese generic tablet. I could send it back for refund but cost $50.
The tablet cost $70 so that don't work to well.
Here is what I know about the tablet. I would like to revive it if possible.
I'd try most anthing because it's not any good the way it is.
Some firmware for it might help if I could find it. When I try to download I get a message "Google play is missing from my tablet.
Model-V11
Processor type Quad A-33
Android version 4.4.2
firmware version V2.0
Kernal version 34.39
Buils no. Astor-43 eng 4.4.2ckut 149L

Kitkat Android tablet 10 inch
Hi johnsonxxzz
Thank you for using XDA Assist
It seems to be an Allwinner V11 A33 Android 4.4 Quad Core 10 Inch Tablet PC Android 4.4 OS 1GB/8GB WIFI Bluetooth Dual Camera. Is that right?
From the picture you painted, there is not much to say but as we do not have a specific forum dedicated to that device yet, our experts at the below forum should be able to help you. Please be welcome to ask in there.
Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
You may also use our search engine too as you will find some other users seeking knowledge about it too.
Its user manual is available too containing 573 pages with schematics. That may be useful.
Nice regards and good luck.
