Hi,
after trying many battery widgets and all were missing some features from others, i made my own inspired by those i tried.
i would like to receive some feedback from real users as i have only two devices for testing. in current state it is a 1x1 widget showing battery level called Tiny Battery Widget. the battery icon has three sizes: big (default), normal and tiny. colors and the levels at which the colors change are also customizable.
battery level is reported in 1% steps also for motorola phones. it is a precise value, not an estimate. it was reported to wrok on a droid x. please let me know if it works on other motorolas or not. are there any other phones that report battery level in 10% steps by default? report every issue in this thread, thank you.
after clicking the battery icon a system settings toggler dialog shows and users can switch some system settings:
- turn WiFi on/off
- turn Bluetooth on/off
- turn GPS on/off
- turn mobile data on/off
- turn airplane mode on/off (optional, enable in settings)
mobile data switch toggles only mobile data, mms will always work. it is compatible with APNdroid and if the APNdroid is installed it toggles the mobile data through it (so mms could be also disabled).
the dialog also provides a quick access to WiFi/BT/GPS/APN settings and can be automatically closed after some events e.g. WiFi connected/disabled, BT enabled/disabled (check the settings).
internet access is for Ads only and GPS is for quick enable/disable only.
uninstall with mobile data enabled or you will have to manually edit APN names to enable it (or just install back the Tiny Battery Widget or APNdroid to re-enable mobile data).
this widget was made for me, and released to public. looking forward to your feedback and enjoy!

Hey guys, I created an app to help with the wifi sleep problems on the ZTE blade/Orange San Francisco, it might be useful for other phones or tablets (NOOK). (Where the phone does not obey the android wifi sleep policy and wifi disconnects every time you turn the screen off)
It grabs a wake lock as you turn the screen off (if you have wifi enabled). It should prevent wifi from being disconnected.
Other features
Optional timeout, so wifi and the wakelock will automatically be disabled after 20 minutes (failsafe)
Automatically disable wifi and wakelock if you get disconnected from your Access Point. (optional)
Since it prevents the phone from sleeping, it will consume more power, but AFAIK it's the only workaround.
If you have wifi sleep problems, try it out and let me know if it works on your device
There's also a paid version with a widget and customisable timeout.

Requires Android 2.1.
I've had feedback, and it seems to work on the nook (mostly), Vodafone 945, Sapo A5 (blade), IS06.
Apparently does not work for the Dell streak or Droid 2.
V1.2 changelog:
• Should work on more devices (Holds WiFi lock & Wake Lock now)
• Will now check Android system Wifi Sleep Policy is set to 'never' on each startup
Some users were finding Wifi would turn off after several hours, which should be fixed in this update (1.3).
V1.3
• Changes to prevent the service being killed by the system when memory is low
• Service should recover properly if does get killed
• App now saves when you press the home key (in addition to back or menu/save)
• Menu changes

add option to show notification bar
Dear mckoo
Thanks for the very good application.
Would you consider adding one more function - ability to show/hide notification bar (like "StatusBar On" by Yuki Ochi, available in the Market) in any app when shaken?

Salam(Hi) all,
Android is a powerful OS because of its wide variety of apps, games, customizations...etc but sometimes it's hard to find the unique app/function you exactly want without trying tons of apps and digging into deep settings of each app trying to find your workaround.
In this thread I'll be glad to share some of very simple and useful apps that works perfectly on our Atrix 2 :angel:
1. Disable Service "Root"

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
as name suggest it's a tiny app (only 500KB) that can disable running apps services (and even system app services) it's very useful for disabling Google Services (privacy concern) and you can disable specific app service as example the popular music player PowerAMP has 2 services which runs forever "updatewidgetservice" that update widget will be always on even if you don't have the PowerAMP widget on your screen! and "headsetpluggedservice" (service that waits for your headset to be plugged to run a song) it will be always on even if you have disabled the headset option! so you can simply by one click disable them.
Also it works as a monitoring service app, so you can see what's the normal (running apps) option in settings can't show.
Works perfectly in Kitkat.
2. Internet Speed Meter Lite
Another tiny yet powerful app that display a small icon showing real time internet traffic speed plus having a schedule of everyday data usage consumption for both WiFi and 3G/4G traffic.
3. Lock Screen
The Most Important app for our A2 (as the power button in A2 is very soft), it's only 20k and simply add an icon to your home screen that (when pressed) lock the screen instead of pressing the trickle power button.
4. Timed Toggles (Auto Airplane)
The next big thing, Timed Toggles (only 130KB) can save a lot of battery by enabling (Airplane) mode on a set of times as example you can set it to turn on airplane mode at midnight every day, also it provides the same functionality for enabling/disabling WiFi, Bluetooth, vibration, sounds, brightness...etc
5. DroidEdit (free code editor)
A must have code viewer/editor with syntax highlighting for (C, C++, C#, Java, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Python, Ruby, Lua, LaTeX, SQL)!
it provides an excellent on the go code reviewing with the ability for undo/redo,search &replace...etc
More small and useful apps will be added soon and it would be nice to share your app suggestions too :highfive:
Note that all apps are totally Free with No ads,fees,subscription...etc
Shake Flashlight App! lets you configure shake for torch, background mode, use screen light or LED and more.
There are millions on flashlight apps out there, none had the customization options I wanted and often required root or included spyware. So I made my own... :good:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
When you first open the app a dialog will allow you to set recommended settings. The recommended settings activate the following options: Start flashlight when app launches, Vibration feedback, Shake for torch and Run in background (so shake for torch can be used at any time - even with the screen off).
By tapping the settings button you can change any settings such as using the screen as the flashlight instead of the LED, you can also choose to have the screen remain on when the app is open.
This app only needs the camera permission (to use the camera's LED).
You can customize the shake strength. On my Nexus 5x and Galaxy S8 for an easy to activate nightlight I use Shake strength 30-40, otherwise about 70 is better for preventing accidental shakes - A karate chop gesture should do the trick
It's now in version 1.1, I've added more features such as an automatic off timer option where you can configure a timeout.
I've tried to keep the app easy to use with a clean appearance whilst still having plenty of customization options. Any suggestions for any features people would like to see added would be great....The only additional tweaks I can think of at the moment are customizable backgrounds within the app and configurable vibration strengths... but this would probably be overkill for a lightweight torch app!
Download:
I've attached the latest APK (it's around 1.5MB), it's also on the Play Store too
* Edit 24/04/2019 - Updated APK (to allow the app to work on newer versions of Android). Background and screen off responsiveness varies by device. Definitely recommend you disable battery optimisations for the app for better reliability.
