LTE issues in NNJ/NYC area - Thunderbolt General

I been having issues on a un-rooted thunder since yesterday 6pm, call tech support today and they couldnt figured it out. escalated to networking team, anyone else around the area experience this problems.
works well when i switch to rev A only.

i think.......you should root and update your radio
I live in Staten Island, have perfectly fine 4G man.

I been having no problems... i am in midtown right now and is perfect.

financial district here.. no problems with my lte

I'm having an issue with LTE as well. I'm going to reflash the radios to see if it helps. I'm rooted running MR2.5 radios with the new Bamf Sense 3 Shooter ROM. I had LTE until about a half an hour ago (now on LTE Mode I get 3G..yes 3G!) Doh. In Allentown, PA.

Reflashing the radios fixed my issue. I'm back on LTE.

I've been having issues as well for the past few days- I work in midtown & commute back to NNJ (rooted, still on MR1 radio). usually, a reboot or switching to CDMA only, then back to CDMA/LTE fixes it, but no luck yet. May try the 2.5 radio & see if that helps...

I've been mostly in 1X for the last couple days as well. (Midtown NYC / South Brooklyn) Reboots haven't helped. Can you flash radio MR2.5 on any version ROM? I haven't flashed since the original root back in march.
update:
Whoa. 4G came roaring back after being AWOL for most of the day. Hope it sticks.

It depends on the ROM you're running. There is a thread in development with the radios and the PlainJane 1.3 (which is an updated Froyo based stock ROM.) The 2.5 RUU is for Froyo but the radios will run with only updated Froyo ROM's and GB ROM's.

[Q] "searching for svc" and no service after flashing ec01

I have been using ec01 since it was released. First I used sfc (fixed) then about two days ago switched to evil fascinate 3.1(fixed). It was working fine with no problems. I didn't really see a jump in data speeds but gps was working great until today. I was traveling from central WI to Chicago when I lost service around the Illinois border. My phone says "searching for svc" and has no service, voice/data or gps. I have flash back to ec10 stock and tried to *228 but it will not connect and still has no service. Ive tried to flash to everything that has worked in the past included back to 2.1. Any help would very awesome as i am lost.
My understanding is to never *228 while roaming. It could connect to another cell provider and no way to get back. Others may be of better assistance with your issue.
Sent from my SCH-I500
I have also had this recently and I was about to start a threat just before reading this.
I live in SE WI and work in IL. So I cross the border all the time. My data and voice dont work at all until I come back into WI. I was running CyanogenMod 6.2.0 when this first happened. It seemed to run fine for a week or so.
I switched back to what was running good before. Now Im running jt's TW kernal, sFc 2.9.2. Last night when I went to work, it did it again. No data and voice.
Is this a USCC issue?
Any help on this would be very very appreciated.
EDIT: I just called USCC. After 1/2 hour of being on hold they said that they are having difficulty with the towers in the area. They said to do a battery pull, and then when I am in the area where I am about to lose service, dial *228. Im not to familiar with *228.
When I cross the border and lose my data/voice, I dont get a roaming triangle. Does that mean its safe to dial *228?
So after two failed calls to USCC tech support (one told me that it was just a combination of poor service and how smartphones have sub-par reception in general, the other said that that to spring bloom can interfere and a lack of towers) I flashed to stock froyo and took it to the nearest USCC store from my hotel. The tech there said there is two versions of the froyo release, a "short" version (the on their website) and a "long" version (used by the techs). He said about 1 in 50 updates done at home come in with problems. He put the long version on and I was up and running in 15 mins. So until my trip is over I will be running stock 2.2
Long version, you say? Fixed all your problems, you say? Do you think you'd be able to upload a backup of that version? Or even just the PRL? I haven't been able to get any service since it seemed to spontaneously quit on me after I flashed MIUI 1.6.24.1. My sister has also been having problems with her USCC service for the last couple of days, and I think i just chose a poor time to start fiddling with my phone's firmware.

Cant Get 4g Any Way

Woke up this morning with 4g on BAMF 1.5 after it had been fixed. 4G stayed on all day just fine. Went to flash the latest CM7 build a few hours ago with the new radio already running on BAMF and now nowmatter which rom I'm using no 4G to be had... Ive done stock radio and the updated RUU. At this point im getting 3G intermittently, flickers on and off..
Ideas??
I believe my PRL was updated...
PRL:15011
BASEBAND:1.16.00.042W_1
[EDIT] 4G Just kicked on.. seems to be stable still some lingering issues from yesterday I suppose (Rockville, MD)
which rom did you end up with? if cm7 what settings did u use for 4g to work?
(im also in rockville)
I am on BAMF remix 1.5 with the new radio.
Since the new radio came out, 4g was working pretty good. BUUUUUUUT, since the 4g outage, it's working like pre new radio.

Sprint EVO.. Latest Cyanogen and Radio.. Stuck on 1x.. HELP!

New to this stuff, but have managed to fumble through getting phone rooted, flashed and functional... to a degree.
I have a HTC EVO on the Sprint network.
Android 2.3.3
Cyangen Kernel 2.6.37.4
Mod ver. 7.0.3.1
Baseband 2.15.00.04.08
So with everything up to date as far as i know I am stuck with a '1x' for a signal.
My mom has the exact same phone except its not rooted. Stock everything and shes getting a 3g signal when shes in town.
So Im stuck here. Anyone have a clue?
Im fairly new here and by no means a dev but i believe its because you have cyanogen its telling you the actual speed you have. while the stock evo only says 3G but is really only on 1x. try running speedtest on both devices.
-also please correct me if im wrong, read this somewhere and am currently experiencing it aswell
thanks ocruz301
Can anyone else chime in and verify this?
try re-configuring your roaming capabilities. Your issue is unlikely to do with CM7.
I have looked through the roaming menu and i dont see anything that looks incorrect.
Is there anything in particular i should be looking for?
Speedtest.net results:
average from several different locations.. 15kB
around the same for uploads..
600ish latency
I have travelled a little over 500 miles around Tennessee Arkansas and Mississippi and Im getting the same thing everywhere..
Anyone?.. anyone?
So these are the steps i have taken thus far:
-updated to latest cm7
-updated to latest radio
no go
flashed to stock rom and updated prl
ran speed test.. 15kB up/down.. EVEN THOUGH it SAYS 3g
flashed back to cm7
speed test.. 15kB
Does no one else have a freakin' EVO that can just chime in and let me know im the only asshole with this issue?
I have a somewhat same problem. My phone would drop to 1x every 10 to 20 minutes and stay there for a few minutes then go back to 3g. It does this throughout the day. Luckily I have 4G in most of my area and that helps me to avoid using 3g. The moment I turn off 4g it starts doing it again. It started a few weeks ago and I don't know what caused it. Like you have have tried different Roms and Radios but no help. I'll gonna try to unroot and go back to Sprint Rom and see it that helps.
hmmmm
I run king cocoa II rom and I thnk its the absolute best ive seen but its also froyo not gingerbread
Anyone, I am having the same issue, no matter which ROM I flashed, and whic kernel PRI or PRL I used, my speed is only 128K max with 1x icon

LTE Stopped Working

I am running CM7 RC 1.61 with the 0.01.76.0703_2 LTE radio listed from the radio thread. We had LTE rolled out to our city a couple weeks ago and everything had been working great until last Thursday when I just stopped getting 4G.
I did a full wipe of the phone, flash to the newest version of the LTE radio, went to Verizon yesterday and spent 2 hours there to have them switch out my sim, call their tech support which was no help and still nothing. If I switch over to LTE/CDMA mode on my phone it usually switches back and forth between 1x and 3G never switching to 4G. I have a few test phones from Verizon a Samsung Charge and a LG Revolution sitting at my desk and both have full 4G reception all day without any issues.
Anybody have an ideas I can try or something I can check? I am honestly thinking I need to get a replacement phone....?
I don't run CM, but I believe I saw tosomething on its xda download page listing a way to get 4g to work on CM.

Have you looked at this page yet?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1057757
Yes I looked at that page and tried all of the suggestions. Nothing has seemed to fix it. Also the suggestions from that page have a radio version that does not seem to work with my phone.
But I think that page was for much earlier versions of the CM7 RC for the Thunderbolt.
Anybody else have some ideas????

[Q] 4G stalling?

When I'm browsing the web, about every 10 minutes or so, my 4G connection stalls. I still have 3-4 bars lit up green but there is no activity showing in the arrows. It comes back after about 30 seconds to a minute later. It's extremely annoying. Is anyone else seeing this? Could this be a problem with my SIM card?
I'm running CM7 with the latest radios but I'm about to revert back to stock GB to see if it happens there.
I constantly had issues with CM7 and data. It would do exactly as you described. I ended up changing to MIUI and have never been happier. I havent had weird drop outs of data.
its been a complaint will all of verizon's lte devices. Guess it comes with the new tech. Hopefully it will get better over time.
I've had the issue with any and all roms this last 2 months + in specific locations. Mind you, these aren't fringe coverage areas or anything, either. When at home I'm constantly stalling but usually at work all good (1 mile away).

Bad Radios I say
Everything past:
From the 2.10.605.1 RUU:
CDMA: 1.48.00.0726
md5: 704404fd7a7bd0958936a32527c06172
LTE: 0.01.78.0802
md5: d77c7fee8bb598c20d5d37f4a2e28d48
Is rubbish.
Although I prefer gingerbread interface I ran into all sorts of data dropping and LTE issues. It's not Verizon towers. Rather garbage radios and roms. As soon as I fell back to 2.10.605.1 and used these radios, everything is back to normal. Speeds are far better.
I noticed just after the gingerbread updates all of these threads on rootzwiki and here in regards to similar issues. Everyone saying stuff such as replace the SIM, call up Verizon etc. I just went back to Froyo and that is where I will stay.
i've been having the issue where i'd click on a link on a webpage(regardless of browser) and occasionally it won't appear to be doing anything.. and i'll click another 1 - 2 times before it's magically appeared(fully loaded) on the next page.

Running CM7.1.1,
I had 906w_1 and 906w_2 radios from 2.11.605.3...
Had the same problems of "stalling" 4G
I went back to the GB radios for 2.10.605.1... and it was much worse. 4G stalled even more, and when toggling back to 3G only mode, I got no data at all (even with bars).
I think it is like most experts are saying... each device is different. Some radios work for your device and some won't.
