Sense widgets for an alternative launcher? - HTC Sensation

Are there any alternative home launchers that allow you to put sense widgets on it? I absolutely love the sense widgets but I hate the home screen lag.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App

As with any other HTC device, the answer is a big no
As for lag - what lag? I've got none whatsoever

Download spare parts and set the transition windows and animation windows to fast. Also turn off all animations in settings. Its faster, no lag for me.

Oh man, I see the HTC white screen and the loading screen constantly... You don't have that problem?!

Do you have more than one home app installed?

That will happen when the device gets low on RAM and it has to kill background processes to keep it going. The solution ? Uninstall some of the apps you recently downloaded and don't need AND reduce the amount of unnecessary widgets on the homescreen(s).

I wish this was possible too. No lag here but I hate the stupid 3 button bar wasting space. I tried wave launcher but it looks like crap.

I had a myTouch 4G before the Sensation that was rooted with a stock Android rom and I had all my widgets loooking identical to sense.
Download Beautiful Widgets (it is $1.99 but WAY worth it if you want cool widgets!) There is a clock called "SuperClock" that comes with the app that looks IDENTICAL to sense, especially when you download the (free) skin called "super sense". It also has the sense-looking toggle widgets etc. All with TONS of skins to choose from. The super clock even has the sense animations if you download the free animations add-on.
And just in case (for the non-readers out there) after downloading the app, you apply the widgets like any other (long-press). Opening the app is just for adjusting settings/skins etc.

Guys, is it possible to install Sense 2.x launcher? I wish I could turn off that stupid 3D effect (and scrolling page by page in app drawer)

The ONE thing that bothers me about Sense.

The lagginess of the app drawer scrolling. Maybe it's because I'm so used to LauncherPro but it just doesn't feel smooth. I really do like all the other aspects of Sense though.
Completely agree stop when you get to the end don't iust slow down. Very annoying.

Say what you will about touchwiz, but they got it right with the horizontal app drawer scrolling. I love that option in ADW launcher as well. I just wish sense gave you that option somehow.

I really don't like horizontal app drawers. I'd actually love a WP7 style list.
The one thing I don't like about Sense is the inability to remap the right button. I don't need the bloody personalize button there all the time.

At least that's possible with root. I can remap the right button to whatever I want. I don't think it's possible to have sense + horizontal app drawer, though, even with root.
I like the horizontal app drawer because unlike vertical app drawer, I don't over-scroll.
Agreed I really wished we could use launcherpros 3d app drawer. I like beautiful widgets but at the end its just not quite as elegant as HTC's sense widget.

I recommend go launcher ex over either of those. I never actually see anyone else recommend it though, but it's a drastic change from sense. It has a horizontal sliding app drawer and I never notice lag. You can do a vertical one as well if you like with it, though I dont see why. The only complaint I might have is the lack of built in widgets (it only has 2 right now), but they're adding more. However, I dont care about those anyways.

This is funny... I thought I was the only one who didn't like it. I really thought I was going to, but I find it just gets in the way.
I switched to LauncherPro (which I'm really happy with) and I stopped all the HTC related syncing stuff in the accounts setup. I'm not sure how much was saved, but it didn't seem to help much RAM and battery wise.
FWIW my wife hasn't had any complaints about it, and we both came from stock Android phones.
I can't wait to root this thing...
Did Launcher Pro not lag for you guys? I checked out the demo in the store and Launcher Pro chugged like none other. Who knows what they did to that demo before I picked it up though.
I really like LP. I saw a youtube video of the Sens. running it....looked great to me.

I installed Zeam to see if it would be slow. It ran fine. I actually noticed that some aspects of Sense shutdown when you use another launcher.
Try ADW Ex just for the mere fact that is supports hardware acceleration unlike LPP and the other homescreen replacements.

Sense widgets in other launchers

I'm completely new to Sense (upgraded from a mt3g and avoided any roms that included anything related to Sense since it would've killed me on ~600MHz or so). I really like my Sensation with ADW Ex and was wondering, short of custom roms is there any way to use Sense widgets in ADW?
Sorry for the newb question, I tried to figure it out using Google but only came across links talking about "Sense-like" replacements. I'm curious if there's any way to extract the actual Sense widgets and reuse them.
Peace,

Thanks, I'll give LauncherPro a spin.. but I've seen a lot of "similar-to" replacements already that don't quite cut it; are the actual HTC widgets baked into Sense with no way to use them outside of their launcher?
I doubt that there is a way to access the Sense widgets from any launcher other than Sense?

There is NO way of using Sense widgets outside of Sense - it's been covered a million times before
You can find a million replacement widgets and use them on a better launcher like ADW EX. Which ones are you looking to use?

Just not enough options with sense launcher, for me. Also i experience lag that I don't with go launcher or launcher pro plus, and pro has a sense skin that makes the widgets look like sense if that's what your after. With go launcher I use colorized widgets as posted previously

have you try Go Launcher EX?

Launcherpro + turn off all animations = fastest phone I've ever used

Everything opens up instantly now...it's faster than my buddies g2x.
I'm sure most of you already know that animations and eye candy are what slow this phone down. Using launcherpro makes it faster (blocking most of the sense stuff/animations), but it still wasn't quite fast enough. Then I went to settings, display, turned off all animations, and now it's blazing fast. Opens up most things instantly. I love it.

I run the same setup on my phone too, i have with all my phones, When i got the cliq it was the slowest phone ever and i used launcher pro which made it somewhat faster lol.

ADW EX on its "Fast" setting is quicker and smoother than LP. I have tried all of the launchers in the market and ADW is the quickest as long as you use the right settings. Anyone else seeing two processes called android.process.acore using very high CPU when LauncherPro is installed?
I've done some Google research, tried all the supposed fixes I can find, including uninstall/reinstall, and no luck.
Posts on the LauncherPro forum confirm the issue, and many have ended up uninstalling it.
So, if your battery life suffers, check running processes to see if this is the culprit.

Nova Launcher and root access

I installed Nova Launcher today on my rooted, unlocked HOX (1.73) and it immediately asked me for root access. I denied it, but I have never seen a launcher do this before on any of my other rooted devices. Has anyone seen this before?
It's been a while since I've used it, but I think it needs root access to show widgets in the app drawer like stock.
