WoW on the G2X... Chaos and Order now available! - T-Mobile LG G2x

Available in the Android Market.
Come and get it mmorpg fans. Chaos and Order is now up on the android market. If you don't know.. Gameloft is infamous for making GREAT clones of popular games that aren't available on mobile devices. So World of Warcraft is an extremely popular mmorpg for PC/Mac... now you can have that same great experience on your G2X. 6.99 for the download will get you 3 months of play. each additional month after that is only 99c. that's a steal folks. works on tablets and handhelds (it's GREAT on the family iPad.. now i can play on the go.. chea).
Cheers!

It's not much "on the go" when it requires a wifi connection to play.

yeah.. just peeped that. #fail... unless you have a mifi... which is still a billing #fail

A lot of places these days seem to offer free wifi anyways

Requiring monthly subscription fee and requiring wifi = double fail.

ALL mmorpgs charge some sort fee. either its free to play and you pay for stuff like exclusive gear (like Lord of the Rings online) or you pay monthly fees. and for 3 free months to start and 99cent there after for an mmorpg... that's a steal sir.... it's new to the mobile arena.. but trust me.... in the world of gaming (big picture) this is a good deal for such a great quality game.

Dude, do they have an app which tricks apps to think that they are on wi-fi when really they are on 4G / 3G?
I know they do for the iPhone 4, things such as "FaceBreak" and the like..

Dungeon Defenders is FREE!

Hey guys! Just want to say that Dungeon Defenders is now free on the market! No idea if this is permanent or just today, so grap your copy now!
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.trendy.ddapp&feature=search_result
I believe it is free now because Google launched their in-app payment model, and they developer will be charging real world cash to acquire in-game items.

Oh i see! LIKE!
What does this mean for the persons that paid for this app? Are we subject to having to pay for everything now to?
The only difference is that you paid for it and we don't. Everyone can use the in-app purchase.
They made it free so that more people will play it. It's a strategy for the console/pc version which is soon to be released.

Damn I paid for it. Hopefully we get more players now.
Any dates for console version?
"Dungeon Defenders” has never had an official release date for its PC, XBLA and PSN versions, though a Q1 release was Trendy’s initial goal. The game is now looking at a March or April release date for the XBLA and PSN versions, with the PC version releasing sometime later."
Hopefully the people that paided for it get something nice in-game
ARE YOU KIDDING ME
i bought this and now its all free.
and the people who paid for it get nothing.
BULL****.
I hope their PC/Console games fail.
I bought it but hardly played it, it's just too damn complex for a portable game.
I'm not real impressed about being nickle & dimed for it after buying it at full price, I won't be purchasing anything further from this developer that's for sure. If they'd given paying users SOME sort of acknowledgement then it'd be different, but that's just insulting the people that've supported them.
I guess they figure the microtransaction model works for Zynga, so why not them as well.
Didn't you people get tons of free items every-so-often already, delivered to you?
Geez, it's not like the developer is asking you to pay a monthly fee; they only made the apk free of charge. The new players who now download the free apk will never be able to get the free items you all got. And if you don't feel like spending any more cash on the game, then don't buy anything using the in-app purchasing mechanism.
Sheesh...
maybe you guys don't know how to play the game so you all are complaining that it should have been free. it's pretty cheap for a game like this!

Nfl mobile app?

Well folks its that time of the year again, and I must have updates for my football. Last year we had a great app, but it doesn't work anymore. Any progression on a new one?

A beer to the fellow who gets this running on the EVO 4G!
I second that ^
There is a new NFL app in the market. I personally have it tried, but it should be fine to score updates and news. There is always the Sprint Football TV app; it will stream college football games on EPSN mobile TV. No NFL.
If you're looking to streaming of NFL games, I've read someone is trying to hack the verizon app, but the security is lot more evolved compared to last year; it also requires a verification you have the subscription with verizon too.
There are two other options to get NFL game streamed to your phone. One would be the DirectTV moble app for Sunday Ticket. I personally haven't used it because I don't have don't have directTV. I did look the mobile part, and there was a fifty dollar fee to have mobile access. Not a cheap.
Another option, also not cheap, is from the NFL, which is the NFL Game Pass mobile. I did a post in another thread in this subforum
there is an app that works from the NFL (NFL Game Pass mobile XDA thread. It works great, and even has access to game replays.
There are two covets though:
1) only available outside the United States, Mexico, Bermuda, Antigua, the Bahamas, and any U.S. territories, possessions and commonwealths.
2) must be Game Pass subscriber to use. It does give free 2 minute preview.
I don't know how much verizon's thing costs. Game Pass isn't exactly cheap; it's $250, which is cheaper than Sunday Ticket on both DirectTV and PS; the directtv mobile is an additional $50.
Other helpful information:
1) How to Use Game Pass in blacked out areas
2) Game Pass 2011: Walk through and review
3) how to use blacked out services on mobile devices: free version or donate version

[Q] Discounted Android Apps?

Does Android Market occasionally get discounted apps like in the App Store for the iPhone? I am assuming it does since it is up to developer but trying to figure out a way to see the apps that get discounted. Any ideas? Thanks.
The Market has discounted apps before when they were celebrating 1 billion downloads I believe. Not sure if they will do that again for other milestones but I would keep looking at the Market and usually checking out Android blogs will tip you off to these events before they happen. I was able to get about 10 paid apps for .10, it was pretty great so I hope they do that again also.

That's actually a good question. Like DroidGiant27 said, they had a big week-long $0.10 app promotion going, but that's about all I remember. Amazon's AppStore has a free app every day, and then there are other markets like GetJar that have free apps, etc.
Now that you mention it, I'm surprised that they don't offer more sales. It is up to the app developer as well, but I've seen a lot of reports suggesting that app sales (and like Steam games sales in the PC world) actually can boost revenue. Personally, I bought a bunch of the $0.10 apps, and now my CC is on file, but I don't think I ever would have bothered with any at full price.
Songs ,movies and books going on sale for the new market that's coming in a few days

NFL Mobile

Hey guys question for you. I tried to watch the Packers vs Chargers game on the NFL mobile app. It said I needed to be subscribed to the service. Does this mean that NFL mobile is not free anymore for LTE customers? And if so where can I sign up for the service? Or is there a "ahem" work around for it to work? Not sure if the reason is because I am on the Synergy rom has something to do with it. Any info would be appreciated.
PS: yes I have searched, can't find the answer. If this has already been asked please just let me know and MOD please erase this thread.
I too am running Synergy and can't watch videos on this app without the $5/mo. fee. I don't think it has anything to do with being rooted or running a modified ROM. If you check the reviews for it in the Play Store it's getting ripped right now because people don't want the, now, bloatware app either because they're not NFL fans or because it used to be free and they don't want to pay. I also googled the old Verizon promotional page for the app, that said you could watch NFL games for free, and it's a broken link now. I guess it was a limited time promotion. It's a shame because it was a great app but I'm not paying $5/mo. for it.

It is a shame that you have to pay but if you can watch any game for $5 bucks a month and connect your phone to your TV I think that would be a great deal. That way you don't have to pay $300 dollars for the NFL package from DirecTV. On the other hand, if it is $5/mo for just games that are played on the NFL network then no way would I pay the $5 bucks. Where did you see the $5/mo fee at? I couldn't find it.

Hmm...I downloaded the NFL Mobile app by Verizon Wireless from the Play Store for free. Upon opening this morning, it prompted me for my Verizon credentials after that it's working fine. No mention of a subscription fee. I'm running unrooted/stock at this point.
I just joined Verizon, coming from Sprint. I know that for non-Verizon customers there was a different NFL mobile app. Maybe that's the one you guys on custom ROM's are seeing.
nfl is free
i just downloaded it from the play store... logged in with my vzw credentials just fine... and it said nothing about a fee.
EDIT. .... until i tried to watch a video then it says i need to subscribe to view. oh well.
VZ must have lowered the price on that.
I had it when it was free & loved it, but when that ran out it was at least $10 a month IIRC.
I never would have cancelled it if it was only $5 a month.
isn't NFL mobile. just the internet version of. the RED ZONE highlight show?
I believe you've always had to subscribe to vz videos or something like that to get the red zone channel and audio for the games through this app.
No better way to kill the 4 hour drive to lambeau.
It is free to use the app. $5 a month to watch games and videos. The only games they air are games on NFL network, Thurs. night games and sunday night games. The $5 fee is new this year. I'm a huge NFL fan though so the fee is worth it to me.

I agree, it's worth it & recently subscribed.
The $5 fee is new, during the season last year it was $10 a month.

they also air the monday night football
so you basically get the "national" games
I think last season the video was free for two weeks for LTE users. After that it was a subscription.
The free game audio worked fine for me all last season. I tried to boot up the audio last week for the 9ers first preseason game and it said unavail... im hoping it was because it was just preseason. I dont want to pay to just listen to the audio haha
The app is pretty awesome, but I don't know if i'm willing to pay the fee to view games, will have to see how the season progresses and how people say the video quality is.

PS4 vs. Xbox One

Any comments? I personally have been a Microsoft fan all my life, but after hearing what they're planning to implement on the Xbox One, I'm definitely going with the PS4. The DRM practices and always-online policies are a huge turn-off for me, and always having the Kinect microphone and camera plugged in is also a bit worrisome. Might just have to switch to Linux as well if this is the direction in which Microsoft is planning on going.
I was a huge fan of the Playstation 1 and 2, but then the 360 came along and I loved it; mainly because of the controller. And to be honest, that was a good enough reason to pass on the PS3. With the Xbox One however, the controller is just not a good enough reason to upgrade. I mean, I've liked the direction Microsoft went in in the last few years with the kinect and all but this "always connected" bull and the lack of focus towards gaming and becoming more of a media entertainment center really grinds my gears. Not to mention xbox live being the biggest ripoff ever.
At this point in time I would rather go for the PS4, despite the controller. Sigh, I wish my hands were smaller.
I'm with you on the drm issue they are trying to do. If you lose internet connection for more than 24hrs you will not be able to play your game offline. If you have time Warner you know this is possible.
I loved how Sony punched Xbox in the no no area with the video "how to share ps4 games" lol

Be sure to watch the E3 press conference. The Microsoft side that is. It reveals a lot more about the Xbox One. Don't drop your opinion of Microsoft until you've watched it and clear up all of your wariness.

PS4 hands down. If it comes in at the rumored sub400 price tag I'll be getting it for sure.
Yeah, price tag is a big issue for me. At this point, I'm unlikely to get either straight out of the gate, because the new features aren't important enough for me to shift off my 360 and PS3.
If they were sub-300 or offered backwards compatibility, I'd be tempted. As it stands... meh. Maybe after the price drops. And I figure out 3 or 4 games that won't come out with my current consoles that fall into the "will definitely buy" category, rather than just the "that'd be nice... someday" group.
I'm saving up my money for nexus 5 and ps4

One note is that the PSN will be a subscription fee now if you want to have access to online content of the game.

I think you got the story wrong (Or I wasn't updated) but PSN will be free. The way you or other users pay for PSN is by taxes (if you haven't noticed there are some content that are charged with tax) and the PSN Plus subscription.
The PSN Plus Subscription gives you access to exclusive content, if you are not a member you cannot get exclusive discounts or exclusive demos. PSN plus in no way will affect any DLC or content from third party companies.
http://spong.com/article/29781/E3-2013-PS4-Multiplayer-Apparently-Locked-Behind-PlayStation-Plus
PS3 multiplayer still free, PS4 multiplayer for PS+ members.
Playstation v xbox =Ps wins every time. Had both, now have two xboxs that don't work and a ps3 nearly two years old and works like the day it come out the box. Microsoft are to cheap to make a reliable games con and they no it. Love the xbox but was so cheaply made its not worth wasting money on the new one.
