[APP] TexTab - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

I've reposted this here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133277. Please post there with any feedback and to download the latest version.
TexTab is an SMS app for Android tablets. It allows you to connect your Android 2.1+ tablet to your Android 2.1+ phone over Bluetooth and send/receive SMS messages on your tablet as if you were sending them from your phone.
I've been working on this app for some time now and I feel that it is ready for public beta testing. I encourage everybody to download and install the app on both your phone and tablet, and please provide feedback here.
I would have posted this in the Apps and Games section, but because I have less than 10 posts I was unable to do so. If this should be somewhere else, please feel free to move it.
App Features:
- Honeycomb optimized, though not required
- Push menu button to connect devices via bluetooth, with option to select a device to automatically connect to in settings
- Conversation threads use your Google contact information to display contact info
- Widget with button to enable/disable service, and displays connection information
Known Bugs:
- Service sometimes stops when tablet sleeps for long periods
- Widget buttons are disabled after changing screen orientation (remove/add the widget to re-enable the buttons)
- Service restarts on Asus Transformer if the keyboard dock is attached or removed, requiring the user to re-connect
Future Development:
- Wifi functionality for increased range
- UI improvements
- suggestions?
I look forward to any feedback/bug reports/praise/insults you may have!

Figured it out. Great app, just need some UI work and make it a bit more intuitive. Great start though.

Thanks for the feedback. Can you give some more specific details about what you had trouble with? Also please note, the thread I linked to at the top of the OP has a more recent version of the app and an ongoing discussion.

i have instantteamspeak and i cannot get this to work. i got the query port and ip given me those green lights but everything else turns red. maybe a tutorial on how to set this up would help.
it seems that shared hosted servers cant use this unless your lucky to find a host with individual ServerquerryLogin or host it yourself. noooo!

[APP] Call Master - Need some Sensation testers please!

Hi everyone! Thank you for your help in getting CM up to a flawless standard! We are now almost ready to deploy CM 1.5 - it will include MMS blocking, Class0 auto replies and many other new and very cool features.
We need your help now to iron out any remaining bugs before we embark on a daemon rebuild. Please download the app from the market and get testing! Here are the issues we want to address specifically:
- If you have problems regaining 3G after the telephony restart. This should have been fixed. If not, please try "Slow radio restart" in Debugging and report your results!
- Issues moving list priorities on Light or Dark theme. Again, if you have issues, please switch to the other theme, try again and then report back.
- Notification color schemes. We are interested if the new notifications comply with the majority of frameworks.
Thank you in advance for all your great work, this ultra-awesome app is as much a child of yours as it is of ours

This is a fully functional application. However, after a 24 hour demo period it will start nagging you to buy the Key, which will remove all nag
screens and timeouts from the interface. The nag screens are pretty light though, so users who dont want to spend can live with them.

Hi. Sounds like youre doing something wrong, there are currently no known issues with blocking.
Post a screen of the contents of the active profile (the lists inside it).
Also a screen of the Filter action settings inside the lists (if you are using list rather than profile actions).
I'll test it

[APP][2.1+] Connectivity Monitor

Hi,
This is my first Android Application for general use. A few months ago, I found a thread asking for an app to test Internet connectivity as sometimes your Internet Connection can be failing even if your 3G or Wifi icons are showing.
This App will test for connection to a specified site and show a notification if an error occurs. The service can be configured to test in different time intervals.
It is realy useful for the following situations:
* People wanting to be notified if Connectivity is lost
* Webmasters / Tech Support members who want to be notified if their site is down (a PRO version of this app will be available soon specifically for this).
I'm currently testing the app, it still has some issues.
Some of the things that will be added soon:
* More configuration options
* A richer main screen that displays more information
* Improvements on the Incidents Report
Please, if you like/dislike the app, feel free to leave your comments, this will help me improve it.
Download via Android Market:

Development of a PRO version. I'm open to feature requests. I'm thinking about a version for IT Professionals that need to monitor various services.

[APP][4.0+] SwiP - Switch profiles intelligently 0.2.7 [Beta]

Hello there guys!
After some hard work we've finally reached a state where we'd really appreciate some reviews, publicity and feedback for our project.
Most of all some feedback would be nice as we don't actually have a wide range of devices to test on.
Basically what we wanted to do is to implement an open source alternative to Llama, Trigger and all the other profile/automation apps.
Of course we aren't nearly as advanced as they are at the moment.. but let's see where we are going to get with the help of you guys.
Here's the full description of what's possible right now:
SwiP - Switch profiles intelligently
SwiP is an intelligent profile app for Android.
It's meant to be an open source alternative to well-known apps like LLama and Trigger (though in a much smaller scale at the moment), which still offers some unique features.
PROFILES
SwiP allows you to create, manage and apply profiles which can contain the following settings:
Sound:
- Ringer Mode
- Ringtone- & Notification Volume
- Media Volume
- Alarm Volume
Connectivity:
- GPS
- Mobile Data
- WiFi
- Bluetooth
Display:
- Automatic Brightness
- Brightness
- Display Time Out
There are also some features which are unfortunately only available for rooted phones like NFC, Airplane Mode and Lockscreen.
TRIGGERS
Furthermore the app offers trigger-management. A trigger basically defines a rule for the automatic application of selected profiles.
The user is able to create said triggers and to use them for his daily workflow.
A trigger can contain the following rules:
- Location (Geofence)
- Time (Exact time or time range)
- Battery State
- Battery Level (Exact level or level range)
- Headphone State
These rules can be freely combined (e.g. at a certain location AND a certain time).

Click to collapse
So if you've got an Android 4.X device and want to give it a try, please go ahead!
There are already some known issues we are working on, like:
- GPS only working on AOSP roms or when installed as system app (still searching for a way to find out which rom is running)
- Lockscreen only working on some devices, on other devices it simply accepts every PIN/Pattern (here some feedback would be really nice!)
- Priority not implemented the best way possible.. just didn't find the time yet to implement a drag&drop list
- User interface is not as intuitive as we'd liked it to be. There will be a tutorial some time..
If you find any bugs, please don't hesitate to report them here: https://bitbucket.org/fschrofner/swip/issues
Also feel free to send us pull requests, we'd love to get other developers involved.

great work dude
This looks great, really looking forward to seeing where you can take this! Been wanting to see some decent competition for llama (despite how much I love it).
The only thing stopping me from testing this as a daily driver is the fact that it doesn't do location by cell tower. I typically keep my GPS off, and llama profiles are changed based on cell location.
Love the interface though, good luck with it!
Thanks for the feedback!
At the moment we are using the Google Location API for geofencing, which should automatically use the most accurate method available (but still conserve power).
The order should be like this: GPS, WiFi, Cell (while GPS only gets activated if a more exact location is really required)
KitKat should work especially well with this method as it always uses WiFi to gain a more exact location (even when it's disabled).
Basically it should do just fine without GPS or WiFi, if the radius of the geofence is big enough (i've set it to 2000m and it seems to work).
Is that size acceptable for you? You could try to start up the application when you are at the desired location (GPS and WiFi disabled) and set the geofence to something slightly bigger than your expected location (should be marked as a blue circle on the map. it needs to be completely in your geofence!)
If some more people prefer the self-implemented cell tower method, we are surely going to look into it!
Keep the feedback coming!
Since you've open-sourced the app, why don't you upload it to f-droid.org?
It's an alternative app store for FOSS apps only. I use it exclusively as an alternative to Google Play as I don't use a ROM with Gapps.
Great work so far!
Got some suggestions:
- Use bluetooth connections as trigger
- Start apps in certain profiles (i.e. maps when connected to car bluetooth)
- Unlink call- and notification volume (I want to be able to hear calls at night (emergencies), but messages I do not need to hear)
NFC support! Cool! I'm going to try this now and report my findings.

How about other languages? Any plans for that?
great work
Would it be possible to do this in 4.4 roms, open google apps and it automaticcalt triggers location toggle? Only problem is dialogue box popping asking for confirmation
Nice.
Would be better if it could switch off and reboot phone automatically.
Hello,
I'm glad to see an open-source application to do some automation. I'm also especially happy to see that this application is not requiring any google dependancies vs Tasker/LLama.
It has succesfully been installed on an AOSP without any Gapps.
It would be great if you application was submitted on FDroid and would gain visibility toward open source user.
Thank you for your work.
Prysme.
So Nice!
Thanks for this app... it is indeed very useful.
Just one thing, could it be possible to have the screen lock set to none instead of it set to slide?
looks promising, good work:good:
Nice app
Ty
Thanks for the app, will try it for a few days replacing Trigger.
One thing I noticed while playing with it for a few minutes: I added a trigger and set a marker in the location option, but the preference summary still says "ignored" under location. The app seems to be working fine based on that location though.
Also I think it would be nice if we can have a negation trigger, like "when not at this location".
Thanks!

You're trying to say you're a native speaker. Don't translate everything literally. Mother tongue (moedertaal) is definitely not what you meant

"Mother tongue" is a valid English expression. In English, saying that a language is a person's "mother tongue" is a perfectly correct way to express that the person is a native speaker of that language.

AppRadio Unchained Reloaded

In addition to the well known AppRadio Unchained mod of the Pioneer AppRadio app, a completely Pioneer-less app is being developed.
As this involves a serious amount of work, this app will be a paid app when finished.
This thread is about the development of the AppRadio Unchained Reloaded app. I will give you status updates of the development.
You will be able to give me feedback, request features and help with beta testing.
The goal of this project is to create an app that allows full mirroring of your Android device on the head unit. It replaces the Pioneer AppRadio app.
Detailed development goals
Core features
- Communication protocol for following devices:
AppRadio3
AppRadio2
AVIC-NEX4000, AVIC-NEX6000, AVIC-NEX7000, AVIC-NEX8000
AVH-X8500BHS
AVH-X8500BT, AVIC-X950BH, AVIC-Z150BH
- Support GPS(integrated GPS injector), Touch, HU keys, SWCs
- Wake lock
- Rotation locker
- Calibration
- Auto mock locations
- DPI dependent GUI
- Start at boot
- Notifications
- Widget for return to HU
Early features
- Diagnostics
- Manual override for detected resolution
Future features
- Configurable key codes for SWC keys
- Configurable apps to start up upon connection
- Connection workarounds like switching bluetooth off/on for better connection.
- Work without root (will likely have some limitations, if possible at all)
Current status
AppRadio3 protocol is reverse engineered.
Prototype that receives GPS, Touch, Key and SWC messages via Bluetooth is working.
Working on implementing prototype that injects received events.
