Hello there guys!
After some hard work we've finally reached a state where we'd really appreciate some reviews, publicity and feedback for our project.
Most of all some feedback would be nice as we don't actually have a wide range of devices to test on.
Basically what we wanted to do is to implement an open source alternative to Llama, Trigger and all the other profile/automation apps.
Of course we aren't nearly as advanced as they are at the moment.. but let's see where we are going to get with the help of you guys.
Here's the full description of what's possible right now:
SwiP - Switch profiles intelligently
SwiP is an intelligent profile app for Android.
It's meant to be an open source alternative to well-known apps like LLama and Trigger (though in a much smaller scale at the moment), which still offers some unique features.
PROFILES
SwiP allows you to create, manage and apply profiles which can contain the following settings:
Sound:
- Ringer Mode
- Ringtone- & Notification Volume
- Media Volume
- Alarm Volume
Connectivity:
- GPS
- Mobile Data
- WiFi
- Bluetooth
Display:
- Automatic Brightness
- Brightness
- Display Time Out
There are also some features which are unfortunately only available for rooted phones like NFC, Airplane Mode and Lockscreen.
TRIGGERS
Furthermore the app offers trigger-management. A trigger basically defines a rule for the automatic application of selected profiles.
The user is able to create said triggers and to use them for his daily workflow.
A trigger can contain the following rules:
- Location (Geofence)
- Time (Exact time or time range)
- Battery State
- Battery Level (Exact level or level range)
- Headphone State
These rules can be freely combined (e.g. at a certain location AND a certain time).

So if you've got an Android 4.X device and want to give it a try, please go ahead!
There are already some known issues we are working on, like:
- GPS only working on AOSP roms or when installed as system app (still searching for a way to find out which rom is running)
- Lockscreen only working on some devices, on other devices it simply accepts every PIN/Pattern (here some feedback would be really nice!)
- Priority not implemented the best way possible.. just didn't find the time yet to implement a drag&drop list
- User interface is not as intuitive as we'd liked it to be. There will be a tutorial some time..
If you find any bugs, please don't hesitate to report them here: https://bitbucket.org/fschrofner/swip/issues
Also feel free to send us pull requests, we'd love to get other developers involved.

great work dude
This looks great, really looking forward to seeing where you can take this! Been wanting to see some decent competition for llama (despite how much I love it).
The only thing stopping me from testing this as a daily driver is the fact that it doesn't do location by cell tower. I typically keep my GPS off, and llama profiles are changed based on cell location.
Love the interface though, good luck with it!
Thanks for the feedback!
At the moment we are using the Google Location API for geofencing, which should automatically use the most accurate method available (but still conserve power).
The order should be like this: GPS, WiFi, Cell (while GPS only gets activated if a more exact location is really required)
KitKat should work especially well with this method as it always uses WiFi to gain a more exact location (even when it's disabled).
Basically it should do just fine without GPS or WiFi, if the radius of the geofence is big enough (i've set it to 2000m and it seems to work).
Is that size acceptable for you? You could try to start up the application when you are at the desired location (GPS and WiFi disabled) and set the geofence to something slightly bigger than your expected location (should be marked as a blue circle on the map. it needs to be completely in your geofence!)
If some more people prefer the self-implemented cell tower method, we are surely going to look into it!
Keep the feedback coming!
Since you've open-sourced the app, why don't you upload it to f-droid.org?
It's an alternative app store for FOSS apps only. I use it exclusively as an alternative to Google Play as I don't use a ROM with Gapps.
Great work so far!
Got some suggestions:
- Use bluetooth connections as trigger
- Start apps in certain profiles (i.e. maps when connected to car bluetooth)
- Unlink call- and notification volume (I want to be able to hear calls at night (emergencies), but messages I do not need to hear)
NFC support! Cool! I'm going to try this now and report my findings.

How about other languages? Any plans for that?
great work
Would it be possible to do this in 4.4 roms, open google apps and it automaticcalt triggers location toggle? Only problem is dialogue box popping asking for confirmation
Nice.
Would be better if it could switch off and reboot phone automatically.
Hello,
I'm glad to see an open-source application to do some automation. I'm also especially happy to see that this application is not requiring any google dependancies vs Tasker/LLama.
It has succesfully been installed on an AOSP without any Gapps.
It would be great if you application was submitted on FDroid and would gain visibility toward open source user.
Thank you for your work.
Prysme.
So Nice!
Thanks for this app... it is indeed very useful.
Just one thing, could it be possible to have the screen lock set to none instead of it set to slide?
looks promising, good work:good:
Nice app
Ty
Thanks for the app, will try it for a few days replacing Trigger.
One thing I noticed while playing with it for a few minutes: I added a trigger and set a marker in the location option, but the preference summary still says "ignored" under location. The app seems to be working fine based on that location though.
Also I think it would be nice if we can have a negation trigger, like "when not at this location".
Thanks!

You're trying to say you're a native speaker. Don't translate everything literally. Mother tongue (moedertaal) is definitely not what you meant

"Mother tongue" is a valid English expression. In English, saying that a language is a person's "mother tongue" is a perfectly correct way to express that the person is a native speaker of that language.

OK, tnx, I learned something today!

Hi all,
I just finished writing the first version of TubeRun for Android. TubeRun is a London transport app that aims to present the most important data that TfL offers in a single app. My motivation for writing it was the low quality of similar apps found in the market. Typically they offer only a single important feature (eg a journey planner, a good map, bus departures) but they omit the others forcing you to install multiple apps which seldom work in a straightforward manner. In TubeRun, expect to find everything that matters so that you won't have to have 4 different similar apps installed. Features include:
-A Journey Planner that uses the TfL API for up-to-date travel plans
-Live Bus, Underground, Overground, DLR and Rail Departures
-Nearby Tube lines, Bus routes, Cycle Hire stations (with live bike/dock availability data), Rail stations, Oyster ticket shops
-Oyster Balance
-Underground Refund Claims
-The real Tube Map
-Favorites
-Current and Weekend Status Updates
-Fast ICS-inspired interface that doesn't rediscover the wheel
New: The source code of the app is available on GitHub.
I plan to add more features, and I am posting this to request your feedback on what I should add/improve next.
TubeRun is by no means perfect, however I think that it works really well already. Please, let me know your thoughts on it so that I am able to effectively improve it. My current list of TODOs for the future is as follows:
Improve the UI of the main screen (icons are the way to go). (v1.2)
Add a station chooser that uses auto complete and the current user location to void scrolling. (v1.2)
Add the ability to deactivate the backgrounds (my photography skills are not up to the task) (v1.2)
Suggest National Rail stations in the Journey Planner. (v1.2.2)
Add support for oyster accounts with multiple cards enabled. (v1.2.2)
Add tube stations status. (v.1.2.4)
In the nearby tube stations map, add the ability to show departures when clicking a station.(v.1.2.6)
Show nearby oyster ticket shops.(v.1.2.6)
Show nearby rail stations(v.1.2.6)
Fix the title for manually-entered bus stops in departures.(v.1.2.7)
Migrate to the official TfL API for tube departures.(v.1.2.7)
Add national rail departure data.(v.1.2.7)
Overhaul the departures station selector(v.1.2.7)
Add the option to download the tube map that also depicts rail services.(v.1.2.8)
Migrate to the new Google Maps v2 API.(v.1.3.0)
Make favourites sorted by current distance.(v.1.3.1)
Add nearest bus stop in favorites
Show tube/bus departure times directly inside the journey planner
Integrate data about maximum journey time (http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tickets/14872.aspx)
Support push notifications for travel disruptions
Support advanced journey planner options
Add widgets.
You may lobby for your favorite feature here and I will do my best to implement it. If you are willing to contribute with code, just PM me.
PS. If you like the app don't forget to rate it. The more people that use it, the better the chances of keeping me motivated.

wow love u work matey just awsome and tyvm just keep going with ur work and ty again
Good job bro! If I'm ever going to London again I'll take this with me ^^
Great app, shame I just moved out of London though! Would have used this otherwise.
referring this app to all of my friends. you need more downloads. App is fantastic, you just need to improve the main menu layout and give it a more ICS style feel.
Well done mate, I use it everyday
fantastic app, will pass it on to all my mates. love it when someone sets themselves a challenge and sails over the bar.
keep it up
WOW what a potential app. I would like to make a few suggestions
1. UI, this needs a rehaul? Im currently using Tube Chaser https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wxLDEsImNvbS5hbmR5Ym90dGluZy50dWJlY2hhc2VyIl0.
and it looks very well polished. You can also set it up so that it takes you to a certain menu when you launch the app. So it could take you straight to Favourites or near by stations
2. Widgets. This is what Tube chaser was missing. The first Tube app I had was London Tube Status https://play.google.com/store/apps/...s#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDIxMiwicHRjLnRmbHN0YXR1cyJd
The widgets worked very well.
But I have to say this is a very comprehensive app but needs a cleaner look, ease of use and widgets.
Well done
Hi guys,
Thanks a lot for your kind words. I did put a lot of my spare time into this, and seeing it lagging in the area of 50-100 downloads is indeed demotivational.

Yes, Tube Chaser had by far the cleanest UI. I went for the ICS+background images layout which I personally like a lot (and it required quite a lot of effort to make it 'work'). What I do lack are some nice icons for the main screen, which I guess is what turns a lot of people off on the first look. As I am not a designer (I more or less suck at photoshop), I didn't want to use some 'not quite right' icons. So I went with labeled buttons. If any of you has a suggestion for a good (+free) ICS icon pack let me know.
What I want to implement for the next version is a quick picker for stations that relies on autocomplete/location and use it thoughout the app. The current version requires quite a lot of scrolling.
As for the "take me to a specific screen", it's indeed nice. However, I think this workflow (quick information peeks) is better satisfied with widgets (see below)

Can you ellaborate a bit more on the wigdets that you need? I personally dislike widgets that require me to 'interact' with them in order to se what's new. For example, I don't think that "departures" widgets is a good idea as they will require me to always hit "refresh" to see what's new. If that's the case, I pretty much prefer to launch the app, hit favorites and stay in the clean interface of the app. I thought about doing it for oyster balance, yet I prefer the current implementation that just requires me to launch the main app. Quering servers on the background periodically or getting your location (thus depleting your battery) is something I want to avoid.
Hey,
I have just downloaded your app and I must say! I really like it. I spend a lot of time in london for meetings etc... and so this will come in very useful!

Take me to specific screen would be handy as when I use it on tubechaser, where ever I am, I would like to see nearest stations first. Its worth having I think

The only thing I dont like about tubechaser is that it doesnt have departure widgets. Isnt this one of the benefits of Android, having widgets?
When I use Train Times UK for C2C times https://play.google.com/store/apps/...EsImNvbS5jcm93b3JjLm5hdGlvbmFscmFpbC5saXZlIl0.
I only use the widgets and never the app. All I need to do is hit refresh on my homescreen and that is it. Im sure you can have that the widget doesnt always update unless manually done on the screen?
I've just downloaded this and love its features. On first impressions, it looks like it's going to become my new main Tube app! The only criticisms I have with it are:
1. To reiterate what others have said about the UI on the front page - I think that some nicer looking buttons wouldn't go amiss;
2. I have two Oyster cards linked to my online account, the first of which was lost a long time ago and has a zero balance. Until there's the option to choose which card to show in the app (or TfL let you delete old cards off of their online service), the Oyster balance feature could be useless to a lot of people.
Great work though, really nice app overall.
Thanks for all the feedback guys! I am now able to start filling up my list of ToDos. Here are my current priorities:
Improve the UI of the main screen (icons are the way to go).
Add a station chooser that uses auto complete and the current user location to void scrolling.
Add support for oyster accounts with multiple cards enabled.
Add widgets.
I will add this to the first post and try to keep it updated. If your favorite feature is not quite high up, maybe I will change my mind if more people ask for it.

Yep, I am aware of this and I added it to my todos. For the time being, I am pretty sure that you can erase cards from your online profile. The option may be burried somewhere but I remember doing it a couple of months ago and then fixing a relevant bug in the app.

i mostly use buses and not all bus stops are available yet (app's saying so). on the bus time table not only how many minutes left but also an arrival time information would be nice. and to be honest background photos distract me. i'm telling this to you as a user, who has tried many these kind of apps and to help you to understand what a user wants from a bus tracking app.

I am using the 'Bus stop locations' dataset released by TfL here. It may be slightly out of date (eg released last year) but I wasn't aware of any stops/lines missing. Thanks for bringing this up. I will update the description to mention this. Are these missing stops available in other apps?

I am not sure that I understand you here. Do you mean "the next bus arrives in 13.49" instead of "in three minutes"? Or maybe "buses on route 49 arrive normally every 12 minutes"? As for the second dataset (sceduled bus frequency), I do not know if it is available somewhere (and I do not think it is particullarly useful given that live information is available).

Yep, others have told me that one before (while others quite like them). If more people feel strong against them I will deactivate them. For the time being, I think that they give a unique touch to the app.
Maybe adding a background configuration in the settings to allow users to chose either blank or image background. On/Off toggle basically. I'm about to try this app, judging by the video it seems packed with features so I'm looking forward to having it. The oyster card thing looks good, I don't want to waste time checking at the station all the time or hoping I have enough.
The buses section doesn't work very well. Maybe a compass would help to understand which way is which. I guess we can use the journey planner if we are stuck somewhere. On my road the local bus is only shown as one direction. The tube part is good though, haven't tried the oyster card thing yet.
I use BusCount for bus information, it's pretty good, maybe you would want to look at that to see how they get all the information. Just a suggestion since it's spot on.

Bus number is 462. It shows two buttons but both say "Departures not available. This is Tfl service so be patient". I presume that means it's a problem on their system. It works for other bus routes.
Blue Hunter (Android)
Hello and welcome to the development thread.
Here you can get an imagination of this project.
Introduction / Description
As you might know, Blue Hunter will be the follow-up of the Scan Most Bluetooth Devices game. The reasons for the complete restart of the same intent are those:
- Scan Most Bluetooth Devices was started up in 2010. At this time I had nothing to do with Java. I was a complete newbie. Therefore the code for the complete base was, to put it simply, ****. But I built on this base further and further. After some time I realized, that this can't be rescued anymore.
- The complete intern handling of things wasn't that, what I imagined.
- Some new features I wanted to get implemented were really not fitting into the game structure.
- And of course I wanted to do some new.
For those of you, who didn't know about Scan Most Bluetooth Devices, here is a short description of that, what the game should look like in the future.
Blue Hunter is a level-up game, in which you have to search for Bluetooth devices in range. Each unique device, that you'll find will give you some EXP. While gaining more an more EXP, you will, of couse, get into the next level. For each level-up you will unlock specific small game features, that will make it more comfortable to play. That's not all. You will have the chance to decide, if you also want to play against the others, who play this game, too. For that there will be the Leaderboard. Later you will also be able to add friends, make a player vs. player game, establish your own clan, etc. Achievements will also be integrated.
Changelog

Permissions
This game uses some Android Permissions. Here I want to explain, for what these Permissions are used:
- android.permission.BLUETOOTH - Is used to receive the state of Bluetooth and to start the discovery of Bluetooth devices.
- android.permission.BLUETOOTH_ADMIN - Is used to turn Bluetooth on, when necessary.
- android.permission.INTERNET - Is used to connect to the internet, to get the game synchronized with the game servers.
- android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE - Is used to determinate internet connectivity change.
- android.permission.VIBRATE - Is used to notify the user about a new found device by vibration.
- android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - Is only used for debug purposes.
- android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED - Used for the Update Service, which runs in the background and checks if there is a new update.
- android.permission.WAKE_LOCK - This is also for the Update Service.
Compatibility
As this game is still in a very early development stage (pre-beta), this game can only be installed on devices with Android ICS (4.*) and above.
Translations
Like in Scan Most Bluetooth Devices I depend on the community for getting translations.
At this point I want to ask you, if you think you can translate the game into your language. If this is the case I really would like to send you to the strings.xml file. There you'll find all strings, that can be translated. Later I will integrate a small platform for translators, which will make them lifes easier. Much easier ! But also this takes time.

Not sure that mapping people Bluetooth names on phones is a good idea even if its just a game. Seems to similar to what Google did with WiFi.

I can understand, that many people like you think very sceptical when it comes to terms of privacy and use of private information by third parties in an application, that can collect a mass of information. I'm aware of the current mindset of people and therefore privacy is a big term I'm mindful of.
That's why I've written the privacy section in the first post that extensive. Of course the list in this section will be updated, if new information is used in the current available nightly.
And that with Google & WiFi. If a big company had the information based on the Bluetooth devices, what would it be useful for ? I mean a Bluetooth device is in very most cases, unlike WiFi hotspots, in a continually movement. The only information, that a Bluetooth device automatically can offer passively and when it is in it's discoverable state is it's mac address, the specific name the user has set, the signal strength(RSSI) and the UUIDs (what this Bluetooth device offers for features). A combination of this information would be mostly useless for a company, even if it is connected with the specific location. The only case in which it could be "useful" would be to connect each different locations, when finding this specific device. But this thought is far-fetched and would be in a very huge conflict with my privacy perception. It would never be implemented in the game. And now to refer to the privacy section, I won't make any information public. The intent of this game is to level up by finding devices, not to gather information.
I hope this gave you a short explanation of my perception on this.
Greetings !
Sorry, about the double post.
In the newest nightly there is the possibility to get informed, whether a new nightly is already available. In addition to that, you can decide, whether the game checks this at start or not.
Because of this, there is one new thing in the privacy list. It's the 'Version Code'. For further information please read the first post. Thank you !
The next thing, that will be integrated is the "core". It's the complete Bluetooth device discovery. Eventually without saving, just discovery. We'll see.
Greetings !
As the game makes good progress and heads for the 0.2 alpha, I updated the Privacy list recently. The core functions are now implemented and I think now I need some volunteers to test the whole thing.
Here some screenshots:
In the third screenshot you can see, that the manufacturer of the devices are recognized based on the mac address.
My please to you is:
Can you report any devices that are declared as Unknown and you know the manufacturer ? That would be very helpful, because then I can set a specific experience-value for these manufacturers. Thanks alot !
Have fun hunting !
You just replied when I wanted to say some things about this game
First of all, it's coming pretty good again, but there are a few things missing ( What makes it nicer for me )
- A automatic update, for example you get a notification of a update is available. Press the notification to update to the newest nightly.
- A vibrate function when a device is found.
- The ranking board.
- The time you find a device added at the place of a discovery ( just add a rule ).
- An ongoing notification so you know it's running in the background.
I tested it today a lot and I think the features I said should be implented.
Bugs:
- When you open the game and press no for bleutooth then do the slider to ON and say again no for bluetooth the slider will stay at ON and it should be at OFF.
- The menu button ( the 3 dots ) is from the slider to the end of the screen clickable. Maybe this should only be a square at the right side of the screen?
- Animations are slow ( Even on a Galaxy Nexus with 4.1 ), they stutter, I mean the user Information. And also when you go into settings and touch information for example.
- If you go to found devices and touch the search button the settings button and the X of the search field are on top of each other.
And on what is the amount of XP based?
Also 2 MAC adresses with manufactures:
40:2C:F4 HP (laptop)
70:F1:A1 Dell Wireless 370 Bluetooth Mini-card
I think you don't need any more numbers of the mac adresses?
Thanks for giving a update on this.
Can we carry over scores from Scan Most Bluetooth Devices?
@Bunglechunk:
Yes, there will be an import function to use, so you can carry over your score.
As I'm not able to use my own workstation, you won't receive any updates, like some of you may noticed. But that doesn't mean, that there wasn't any progress. I could add some more features and now I'm working on some help pages for users, that may not know some features. You will receive a nightly update as fast as possible.
Greetings!
After long time of silence in this thread, I want to notify you few users of Blue Hunter, that I've updated the first post, especially the Privacy section. This applies to all new nightly versions, that are currently out there.
For more information on the changes, please be sure to look into the changelog.
As for general I can say, the development goes and goes. It feels much more professional as it was when developing for Scan Most Bluetooth devices (which interestingly got much downloads in the past from Google Play).
Also I appreciate if you would take the time to use the Bug Tracking System to report your bugs, you noticied.
Thank you for your support!
Greetings!
Re: [GAME] Blue Hunter [IN_DEV][0.2PRE_ALPHA]
If you send the strings that need to be translated please do... I didn't know that my translation was outdated... And the auto-check for updates doesn't work anymore, thanks for developing again
Edit: I had instant FC's so I set my pass, and did the 'rebuild local database', I think I backed up my score by logging in, now my score is gone :'( Is it possible to retrieve my score? Because I did login.
Hey Guys,
I wanted to notify you, that Blue Hunter has reached Alpha state. Until now there is a support version available on the Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.maksl5.bl_hunt_sup.
This will help, keep me motivated to make something really great out of this project, so be sure to check it out.
Blue Hunter now has achievements, which will let you get a permanent boost of EXP, when finding a new device. Also here be sure to check that out! I updated the first post on this thread. There you can find the information.
Now I will focus on the social aspects of the game. Like I said, I want, that you can make 1vs1 games against other players in a specific time period. This also applies to clans, that you can lead or enter. You will have the chance to get friends and write them messages or to boast with your statistics. This is where I wanna have this game and I will concentrate on that for now.
Until this, I really have to ask that stupid question again. Do you have time to translate? Write me a PM. I'm very thankful for that.
Greetings, have a nice day!
Thanks for updating the app again! It's fun to play it now because you can achieve something. For the translation, please send the untranslated strings by PM to me

Hey MaksI5!
Nice that you are still on this project!
I can do the translation into Swedish and proof read English if needed (I will look into it). How do you want the translation? Just plain translation by editing the strings.xml file on Github? How do you want me to handle Swedish letters å,ä,ö?
@Marc. & NRK77:
Thank you for the time! You can find it here: https://github.com/Maksl5/blue-hunter/blob/master/res/values/strings.xml. Again this file is mostly updated with new strings on each version increment. You just have to send me the translated strings back via PM here or mail, what you like most. Specific characters are no problem. You can use them in your translation. I will check it and then handle it, like Android needs.
Thank you again!

No problem at all! I like this game, hope there will be as many players as in SMBD.
I've begun the translation, it will take a week or two to complete.
One error you might look into: I have the automatic check for updates option on. Every time I start the app, it says there's a new version. It says my build is 1143 and 1144 is available. If I download 1144 and install it, the app still tells me the same as before: I currently have 1143 and 1144 is available.
One other problem I'll write in a PM.
Maksi5, are you still around? Ich hoffe dass du nicht in dem deutsche Wald verloren ist.
[Written by my thumbs using Taptalk 4.]
So guys, after some delay, I'm starting to develop further. Sorry for that, but I had many things to do for a while.
I just could integrate a new small feature. I don't talk about much, 'cause pictures say more then words:
Screenshot (Dropbox)
The whole social aspects thing... I did not touch it. But I will. Be sure.
@Snah:
This is a bug that automatically occurs, when I'm too dumb to compare and check the version numbers of the apk and the actual AndroidManifest.xml. Don't worry about it, it fixes itself in the next nightly.

ABOUT
I know there's a huge list of profile management apps released already; This is my first project; It's open source and you can freely check the code on https://code.google.com/p/sfen/. Android version requirement: 4.0.* (Ice Cream Sandwich aka ICS).
sfen is not a abbreviation of any kind.
sfen is swen but with f.
sfen is sheep, like you and me.
sfen is cool.
sfen gets chicks and other sheep.
...actually, sfen is profile management app
WHAT SFEN CAN DO RIGHT NOW
more events can be active at the same moment
profile settings have sound & display options and run specified actions. Actions include toggling wifi, data (root required), vibrate, show dialog window, play sfen sound, run specified application OR shortcut and more
events can be enabled/disabled
it can trigger event actions by geolocation (google play services is required!): leaving and entering specific location will be triggered, wifi status, gps status, time range, single time, current day, screen on/off, cell connection, other event running/not running, battery level and battery status
more conditions can be added to single event and used to match ALL or ANY condition
it can set the priorities of events so if more events are active at the same time, it will take the priority set in advanced options of event into consideration
it can record cell history
using call allow & deny list, you can allow or deny specific 1) contact, 2) group or 3) phone number or part of it to not ring or ring in silent profile!
you can call sfen events or profiles directly using actions/widgets from your favorite launcher!
WHAT SFEN WILL BE AVAILABLE TO DO IN THE NEAR FUTURE (aka TODO list)
Localization (completed: Slovenian, Spanish, Serbian, Russian, Dutch, Swedish).
Implementation for 3rd party apps (Locale)
Localization support (moving hardcoded strings to string xml and start finding translators!)
Bugfixing!

Q & A
What permissions does sfen currently need?
Wifi state, Network state, Fine location (current user location only if you select to use conditions on Geolocation), Internet, External Storage and more. At the end, it's more or less condition>action application. If you're interested in knowing more about where does Sfen use any permission and what for, just ask!
Does the name of app have anything to do with Sven Bomwollen?
Maybe. Click.
Why can't I find sfen on Google Play store?
As soon as we finish beta2 milestone, we're going live (aka. google play store)!

Record feature
Hey man haven't tested your app yet coz I ain't got an android device right now.....
But I'd like to request a feature......
RECORD FEATURE.....
Sort of when I press record it goes to home and then keeps noticing whatever I do...
Eg: I open settings and remove developer options....
And then stop recording when I press a specific key combination and then show whatever it understood....
And then there should be two kinds of record...
1 that records gestures and touches....like if I press home button, touch the chrome icon and save it next time if I replays the chrome icon with hangount icon and then play it it should launch hangounts.....bcoz its just following my recorded trial....
2 that records activities and ignores gestures...eg if I launch chrome and open XDA and save it next time I play it should launch chrome and open XDA......
I know those are big requests but u say ur collecting ideas......
I'll be testing it soon.....
Testing
Hi, I'm testing it but there is no action besides the notification. Can you add at least wifi on off option in actions? It will be nice to test the application having at least one action working. Nice app!

Just like to offer my help on UI lift for Sfen. I already have an idea in my mind for a profile management app. Let me know if you need a designer! Sample: http://www.abtevrythng.com/2014/03/android-xposed-framework-ui-reimagined.html

I will try to contact CM devs to ask if CM profile access and management is possible from other (in this case Sfen) app. I'll keep you updated on their reply.

Hello-
this will be achieved in the near future:
Event:
- condition: screen off/on
- action: run profile: "notification off"
where "Notification off" profile would be:
- notification sound: silent.
:good:
Thanks, I hope you can add more actions and conditions soon!
Edit:
You can add features for rooted devices!
Multiple conditions
First of all, thanks for the app, I think that it could be very interesting to have a open source framework like this.
About the app, I have seen that you added a checkbox with "match all conditions?" option, this is for having conditions as:
X and Y and Z
X or Y or Z
But you can not make conditions like:
(X or Y) and B
Did you think on adding that kind of conditions? For me, the most difficult thing would be creating an UI to manage it :silly:
P.S.: If you like being "trendy" you can try implementing th "material" design, showing the events like "cards".
P.S.2: I also think that could be more visual having different background color for disabled events.
P.S. 3: It would be very interesting if this app had an API for other people to add conditions or actions. this way, even if you leave the development, people could add functionalities
Good luck with this app!
Hey dude,i love this sneaky cute sheep so much
Have some idea for u
1.an event for gsm antena network
2.ability to triggers application 's widget
3.make a simple ui for noobs and a way to transform to advanced menu for experts
4.reduce the wakelock to save more battery
Good luck
I like! But it's just me, or there are no actions but notification icon?
Hi! I'm about to install it and start using/testing the app. However, could you do the testing through the play store, it's much much easier to track the updates and stuff than here where we have to manually check for new versions and stuff. It can be done with a G+ group.
Thanks!

Thank you for your post,
- I will try to integrate logical AND and OR conditions later in development. This is one of my things on todo list. As you concluded, it is one of more difficult things to implement to "look nice" and make sense
- I will try to use my sheep senses to see, how it looks if disabled events have different background. Will post results later
- trendy cards will get some loving too, Sfen said he likes the idea too :victory:
- API for different broadcasts would be great and will be implemented AFTER all main things get done, okay?

Hello and replies to your ideas:
1. actions to enable/disable mobile data is getting implemented as I'm writing this message. Sadly, beginning with 4.2, this isn't possible without root anymore. Is that what you meant?
2. widgets will get implemented after proceeding to next step! hooray
3. I'm hoping I can hit that sweet spot between simple & advanced ui in one UI alone. If we find out users will have difficulties adopting to interface, then its time to split simple/advanced interface.
4. currently, wakelocks aren't starting to check conditions by themselves. Sfen is only listening to system broadcasts and waking up on START and END times where TIMERANGE is used.
Hope I've replied and answered on all your ideas!

Hi Leo,
thank you for suggestion. One of my main objectives is to put Sfen to Google Play. Believe me, I'll do my best to put Sfen between other virgin sheeps (wat!) as soon as possible. As this is early Alpha stage, I'll try to put out as little as different versions as possible and, let's hope, Sfen is going live (to Play Store) with his first beta release.

Additional info:
Waking up and seeing app thread going live brought smile to my face. Sfen started to hump all the pillows in apartment out of excitement. I will listen to all your suggestions and try to implement all the ideas as soon as possible.
Thank you for making Sfen happy!
Until next version, test the ui!

Hi all,
new version has just been uploaded.
REMINDER: if you have previous version installed, please Menu>Exit first, then uninstall. Hooray!
It includes:
- tabbed ui with placeholder for profiles and whitelists
- new conditions: screen on & screen off
- new actions: enable wifi, disable wifi, enable mobile data (ROOT required!), disable mobile data (ROOT required!)
Next update will bring:
- simple profiles (maybe with only basic options to set loudness, ringtone and vibration options
- action: vibration & play specific sound
- more things i cannot think of
Happy bug hunting and alpha testing ^^
Hi mate seems promising, good luck! When trying to add a new event and choosing inside or outside location and location is turned off in settings I get an fc. This is what the logcat says: 07-29 00:13:02.089 E/sfen (12773): Preferences alarms of type ALARMS is null.
Thanks, I'll be happy to help!
Hey,
This is my first major app I've produced by myself - it's called Shuffle My Life, and it generates random activities for you to do depending on where you are, what time it is, the weather conditions, and so on. For example, if you're near a park, there'll be outdoor activities. If it's after 10pm, you tend to get media-based activities like news, new music discovery, and so on.
It's currently in beta and being heavily developed, so I'm looking for feedback and ideas for where to take this in the future!
PS - here's some info about the permissions used:
Location - used to determine what places are near to you, to feed Google Places API (e.g. are you near a bakery? a restaurant? a park?) - Location is only stored on the local device, so if you delete the app, the data goes with it. You don’t need to use the app with location if you don’t want to.
File storage read/write - To be able to save images/videos you’ve taken with some tasks (this is upcoming for an expanded sharing functionality)
Find/use accounts - used for Google Play Games
WiFi connection and disconnection/network access - This can probably be removed, it was a relic from when the built in web browser needed to check if you were on WiFi before automatically loading a page (it now always prompts before loading a page).
Control vibration - For some fun feedback when completing tasks
Some ideas for the future:
- Localization and better support for other currencies
- Lots more tasks
- Some multiplayer element
- Better task submission system
I'm hoping I can take this idea and run with it, expanding it as I go - but I wanted your feedback first! Thanks for checking it out!
Oh, and the Play Store link is here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gadsby.shufflemylife
I like the idea but I think users need more info (may be more screenshots) about app.
Is it global? What about preferences? Why isn't it in Play Store?
It is in the Play Store, but I'm a new user so can't post direct links yet - I'll update it when I can!
It's not localized, if that's what you mean? The app should work anywhere in the world, though currency (I.e. the estimated time it takes to complete a task) is in dollars only at the moment. I'll add an automatic conversion at some point!
I'll add a couple more screenshots, good idea!
I just updated the app with a few fixes, including the ability to opt out of Google Play Games, faster loading times, a new splash screen, and crash bugs resolved. Any other thoughts?

Wow, that's crazy!
Last night I updated a lot - 1.7 should be a lot smoother, have a look!
Ever wished that the excellent 2GIS provides full turn by turn navigation in Cyprus?
Until that dream materializes (it's known this feature is offered for the major countries), you may try out this app:
First, find the destination location in '2GIS'.
Then choose 'Share'.
From the list presented, choose '2G2S'.
'2G2S' will load and present installed geographic apps.
As a last step:
> Selecting 'Sygic' if all went well, app will launch in drive mode between your current location and destination location.
> Selecting any other, if app supports it, it will launch and show the destination location.
That's it and Happy navigating ...
Disclaimer:
This app by no means is associated with the creators/vendors/distributors of 2GIS.
Its developed by myself as a workaround to assist myself (and hopefully others) in the above matter.
For any support, query etc please contact me at: [email protected]
Permissions:
- Full Network access
This is required to be able to access the 2GIS URL and get information when working 2GIS on-line.
Otherwise, it is not required.
Hmmm, what is turn by turn navigation?
2GIS show route between 2 points, also have navigation mode for cars etc.

I asked that myself while reading this thread and it is a very very old feature which every navigation system or software has integrated since 2004. I think he is using a very bad navigation software which doesnt support this feature, but since navigon is for free everybody i know use it.
2GIS is actually the best app to be used for map/directions for various POI, commercial and private street addresses with extreme detail and accuracy for my country Cyprus.
After checking with Borizzz, its obvious that 2GIS does provide voice directions with turn by turn navigation for the main countries like Russia.
Unfortunately, for Cyprus, this feature is still not enabled.
Till then this app can be used as a workaround.
Version 1.1
Hi all,
