Force media scan? - Samsung Infuse 4G

Is there a way to force the phone to rescan for media MANUALY?
I unplug from the pc and it scans but only shows 14 pics in the gallery, BUT if i restart, it will scan and show all my 600 something photos

Go to the Android Market and search for the file "Rescan Media" works great.

An app to trigger macro's on my computer?

I was wondering if there is an app and computer program bundle that would allow me to trigger macro's on my laptop over WiFi from my galaxy s? (android 2.2).
I basically would like to pop up my phone, press a menu option in an app, and have my downloads program open on my computer, or my security camera program start recording etc..
Any idea's?
Thanks

Media Sync

I did have the media sync working before, but it would only work occasionally, then I got it to work when I would restart my phone. Now it doesn't work at all. Also at first the music I would sync would also display the album art, now it only displays the green music note.
The reason I want to use the media sync is so that I can play the DRM music I have through my zune pass. if it wasn't for that I would just use the disk drive.
any ideas or any resolutions?

Well i wiped all drivers and downloads on my computer and plugged in the phone let it download the adb driver and now it seems to work.
For some reason I have to restart the phone to get the music to sync (which isn't to bad since I have to still restart to be able to do the media sync or the computer will see it then disconnect it after 2 seconds) and it still does not show the album art in the stock player but i downloaded mixzing and it is showing up, but that might be because it is set up to download album art. I'm going to turn that off and see what really happens next.

[Q] Wierd Audio/Video Behavior

If I transfer mp3 files from my computer to Infuse via WiFi connections, the music player chokes/blanks and refuses to play. Also, Gallery doesn't function. If I reboot (or unmount sd and remount) all is fine. Additionally, if I transfer files using direct USB, everything behaves fine without extra steps. Using ES file explorer to do the transfer.
UPDATE: Tried using Rescan media from Android Market Works hit and miss. Any better way to do this?

Windows media player opens when I connect my phone

So I've been running CM10 for a while. I just connected my phone to transfer on some music and my internal storage isn't showing up. My sd card is but I can't create a new folder or drag anything onto my sd card.
And when I first connect my phone windows media player opens. Before my phone would act as a hard drive.
What the heck could have happened and how can I fix it??

poco x3 nfc won't connect to laptop

Can't move cd music downloaded to itunes to my phone. I did figure out how to move it through bluetooth. Bluetooth will take 5-8 minutes per song x 4000 songs. I am no IT wizard. I have searched the web and watched videos with terms like File manager FTP, MTP, bootloader, MI pc suite, USB activation etc.. I did turn on USB debugging thanks to a good video. I'm not sure if i needed to turn it on but its on. This music is my music placed in itunes not purchased music from apple. I made a folder and am dragging the music from itunes to the folder then wifi to phone too slow. Any help would be appreciated.
Solved not sure how. All of a sudden my laptop made noise when cable was plugged in so they are now talking. On my phone a bubble pops up "use USB for" and then three choices. no data transfer, file transfer/ android auto and transfer photos (PTP). I clicked on file transfer/android auto. I then had to create a new file for iTunes music and drag and drop several hundred cd's into folder. Once all music was in folder I had to highlight every song (over 4000) and drag them to the phone now located in the task bar on left. There were some hiccups like songs duplicating and so on. This was better than bluetooth by far but I,m sure there are easier ways. It took probably 20 hours over 3 days.
Maybe this can help anyone. Try to connect the cable to the USB port in the back of your pc. I tried it and it worked
