I was wondering if there is an app and computer program bundle that would allow me to trigger macro's on my laptop over WiFi from my galaxy s? (android 2.2).
I basically would like to pop up my phone, press a menu option in an app, and have my downloads program open on my computer, or my security camera program start recording etc..
Any idea's?
Thanks

Does anyone know of a app that you can remotely control your evo 4g device from the computer through a usb cable (3g would be fine too)??
I found an app that you can do it with wifi, but I do not have wifi available at my work location (the app is called htcportal).
I also found a screencast application:
http://code.google.com/p/androidscreencast/
(but you can only view the screen, you cannot remotely control it w/out rooting, I do not want to root just for this app.)
while at work I like to plug my phone in and just keep it on my pc screen so I can type messages or whatever through the software instead of having to pickup the phone and/or disconnect the usb/charging cable.
Without root, probably not going to happen.
what is the app that controls it via wifi?
moto phone portal/HTC portal:

I just tried out the moto portal and I don't like it.
the interface is pretty neat, but you have to scroll to find your contact and I didn't see an option to show the screen and actually be able to navigate through the phone.
I often use my HTPC w/ my boxee app, however, the problem is my PC requires a login because I also like to remote desktop in. I'd like to be lazy and log in from the couch w/o getting up and logging in on the keyboard
Is there an app that logs into the pc from the login screen? I'd like to login from my android device but also able to see the screen on the TV. This would also be useful if ppl are watchin a movie and I have to sit on the can for a few mins, I can watch it on my nook color
any help plz?
I thing I got wat u are saying not sure, install teamviewer both on computer and phone. Put in the access code and there u can see ur pc on ur phone

Ok, seems like it'll work, but my major issue is the following:
1) I press power button on PC
2) I sit on couch wait for PC to boot up
3) I need to type in my password
so.....
Is there a way to have VNC run/start up from the beginning at the login screen? Otherwise, I have to log in to PC (via keyboard) and then the VNC app will work, correct?
Essentially - I'm trying to avoid using the keyboard but would still like to keep my PC password protected.

Does Samsung AllShare DLNA works for someone?
I tried on my Omnia 7 with Mango but getting a message my device is not supported. Is there a chance there will be some third-party DLNA app soon?
AFAIK DLNA should not be relevant to HW, it's just sw protocol right?
As far as I know it doesn't work on our Omnia 7's don't have the drivers for it - yet.
A relatively easy trick enables you to bypass the current restriction put in place to allow the Allshare DLNA application to work on the Samsung Omnia 7 and Samsung Focus devices:
- Connect you device to a WiFi network
- Launch the Allshare app and instantly hit the start/home button of your device (before the error message pops up
- Navigate back to the Allshare application by long pressing on the back button and selecting it in the fast application switching view
- Voila you’re done
That work for me

Nice, so hopefully someone can patch it than. It just a matter of removing the exit app function.
Edit: Seems to be fixed with version 1.1.0 does anybody have the 1.0 version?
Patching will be hard, since samsung obfuscated everything...
here the patched version form Heathcliff74

Is there an app that will let me "remote desktop" into another phone? My mom also has an android device (HTC Rezound). But she can't even set the clock on her VCR (yes, VCR) let alone manage her phone. I would like to be able to remote control it to do stuff for her. I do this same thing with her computer using VNC or RDP. It doesn't matter if my end uses my phone or PC, as long as I can remote control her phone. Preferably without root.

I want to launch an program on my computer with my phone (connected in the same network), that's about all
More details, I did some research already and i found a way to turn your computer on with trigger, tasker and an app to wake a pc, I would need to replace the wake with the command to launch an program on a windows 8.1 machine. I also have tried IFTTT but found no solution, the optimum trigger would be a nfc tag
