[Q] Internal phone storage not showing up!! - Verizon Droid Charge

Ok so after much debate I finally decided to root my DC...everything went successful until I tried to install a zip I had downloaded to get some Vz app I had paid for. Upon reboot I got FC after FC so I went back into Odin and re-installed Gummycharged 1.7.5 and PJB otb edition kernel. Once I booted everything up and started reistalling my market apps I kept getting errors that I had insuficient internal memory and when I looked in my sys info it said I have 0.0 internal memory?!?! Is there a hotfix or something I can so in CWM to fix this? Please help! Thanx in advance!

[Resolved] [Q] Problem with StarBurst Froyo HTC 2.29.405 [30 Jan]

I have bought a new 16gb Kingston SD card. I partitioned it 11GB FAT32 and the remainigng ext4.
I rooted my HTC Desire, wiped it, installed StarBurst and then installed Data2SD. So far so good. The phone booted back up and all seemed well but accessing apps was slow. I then tried downloading an application from the market and got the error "Sorry, there is not enough space to install this application".
I checked and my SD card is showing 11gb free space and my internal memory is showing 3gb.
Has anyone seen this problem?
Many Thanks
Formatted both partitions and reinstalled Staburst Lite 1.2.0 and getting same error. As the phone recognises there is space, could there be a permissions problem?
When you flash Starburst, it sets the permissions just before it finishes the install. You're ROM might be bad, you should try downloading the full one. Doing a factory reset. Flashing the ROM. Then rebooting and flashing the App2SD install and reboot again. Hopefully things work out for you. I'm having problems with Starburst too.
I completely wiped and reformatted SD partitions, downloaded the lite ROM (had tried standard) and installed that. Same problems, the phone seen the 3gb internal memory but I couldnt install apps. It did however download the update for google maps and install that automatically. Even after that if I tried getting anything from the market I got the no space error.
When I had the standard ROM installed, I evntually tried the fix permissions button in ROM manager. It did 170ish tasks but didnt fix the problem. This was my first attempt at flashing my Desire. I have learnt a fair bit already about it and done plenty of googling and reading.
I have installed Oxygen for now but would like to get starburst working to try out this performance boost it boasts.
Ok, I gave StarBurst another go, reduced my ext4 partition down to 1gb from 3.x gb and it works now. Maybe a restriction to what size it can work with.

[Q] Insufficient Storage Available issues need help.

I am looking for an app or way to clean up the SD card. When I try to install any new apps I get Installation Error - Insufficient Storage Available. I looked at the storage and it says I have the following
System: ROM 325mb (84mb free)
Internal: 1.59gb (1.22gb free)
DB Data: 109mb (75.2mb free)
SD card: 15.8 gb (7.50gb free)
It doesn't seem to me as if there is any storage capacity issues, what am I missing. Any ideas.
I use the paid version of SD maid. I don't know if that will fix your issue but it is a good app to clean up the internal as well as external SD card,.
I will try that.

I get the same error when trying to download any apps. I lost several like google earth, adobe reader ect and tried to reinstall them and get the error. I tried to download the suggested app and same error....any thoughts?
you may have a issue with the SD card. It possible reformating the sd card may help. Could back up your SD card on your PC format it and then try installing a app. If that fixes it, then you could just copy your files back to the SD. Just an idea
I formatted the SD card, then used Ti backup to move all apps to the SD card. Tried to install an app and got the same failed error. Any thoughts?
When you install a app does it install first to the phone then you move to sd or just install straight to sd? And if installing to phone first does error occur during install or during the move from phone to sd?
Tap-a-Talked
It seems to be installing apps to the phone, then I move to the SD card. Not all apps move though. I installed a couple smaller apps today and it worked fine but when attempting to install Google Earth I get the error again.
K. Let me see what it does on my phone with google earth.
K so it move fine for me. Do you have a spare sd card you could try and see what it does. That's the only thing I could see doing that. I guess its possible the phone may not be reading it right but it seems more of a sd issue.
Tap-a-Talked
No, I will have to pick one up. I tried ebay app and it gave me the same error, I don't know what's going on.
Honestly me either. It seems as if it truley was a sd issue it would do it no matter what app it was or how big it is. Since its being picky about which ones gives you errors it is 50/50 shot its a sd issue. Only thing I can say is try a different sd and if it still does it then it is something in the phone. I would just get a cheap one and see what it does.

Go to settings and manage applications. See if some of your missing applications or apps that will not load are listed but have a generic android icon and are named strange. I had about 15 apps that would not restore from Titanium Backup correctly. I finally found the issue under manage apps, deleted the affected apps, and restored them. This may not help you but its worth checking.

Will do, thanks.
I get this message with quite a few apps as well. The one that is really ticking me off is that I can't install Lookout. I have moved most apps to the SD card and there is plenty of room on both the SD card and the internal memory. I am running Heinz 57 ROM EE19.
Any ideas on what could be causing this?
I still don't have a clue as to what caused it but after switching to EE19 and Heinz 57 my issues went away. Not a solution just worked for me.

And that seems to be what started it for me. I guess I will flash back to stock EE19 and start over.
I wiped data/factory reset. After that I flashed the stock EE19, CwM 3, Heinz 57 6/6 and rubbed one out. That order seemed to work for me, but now I feel kind of sleepy. The storage problem is fixed.

[Q] Reinstalling Infused 1.5.3 from stock

Alright given the issues with Infused V2 and all the craziness on GTG's ROM thread and the fact that I have been having some serious issues with V 2.0.0 since installing it I decided to go back to stock. I accomplished that without issue. I then rooted because I could not remember how to load one of the recoveries that was already rooted.....??? Anyway I got it rooted no problem. I have copied the 3E recovery file into the /system/bin directory while renaming the original recovery file using Root Explorer. I have downloaded ROM Manager after a lot of frustration because the market didn't want to download it even though I purchased it previously. I ran the Clockwork mod, Galaxy I9000 chosen. I ran it twice and I end up with Green Recovery screen not the Red CWM?? If I reboot and try to get back into Red CWM I end up back in the blue Recovery. So what the heck am I missing or not doing right? Can I just use ROM Manager to install from SD and put the 1.5.3 zip on the internal sd and get back to some Infused goodness????
I tried loading it from ROM Manager but it reboots into blue recovery and I get an error message.
E:Can't open /cache/update.zip ????
I think I remember something about this before do I have to delete cache data and then try again???
Try refuse 1.7 it works just as good as infused

I had the same thing...I think. I was on gb, restored back to stock, noticed gtg's links were down so I desided to use my sdcard. I can't remember if I was blue or green to start but it wasn't red. I installed my froyo infused rom which brought me to red. I then flashed my saved gb rom thru sdcard but it was all messed up, had all the rainbows again even tho it was the stable version and I wasn't able to enter recovery from power button. I guess it was because I didn't do a wipe before flashing. I ended up doing a factory reset after because I couldn't download from the market or use gtalk (set fixed it) but I lost all my saved data.

Thanks for the reply. I got it all sorted out by using the green recovery and flashing the 1.5.3 zip. Everything is cool now I used TBU to restore my apps and data and that went perfect. The only hitch was the internal SD Card still had a bunch of old stuff on it so I decided to format it which was good but also bad because i had my work timesheet on the internal SD card..... I thought I had saved it on the external SD card but it was on the internal. So I lost last weeks timesheet which isn't the end of the world but the boss isn't going to be too pleased. He is the one that got me doing my timesheets on my phone in the first place so he is partly to blame. I have taken steps to not have that happen again by moving everything to the external SD card. What a nightmare. Took me all day to get back to 1.5.3 and I was very careful to backup everything manually so i didn't lose anything unfortunately I did not realize that my timesheet was on the internal storage. Oh well live and learn.

email your timesheet to yourself each day...then you have a backup
Not a bad idea but never had to worry about it before as it was always on the external storage on my Blackberry. But this new Android stuff is a little different than the crappy Blackberry. I have moved everything to the external SD card now so when I open something in Docs to Go it will definitely be from the external storage not the internal and i may just start emailing as well just to be safe.

I had this issue and could not figure out why...every app i installed said "installed on sd"
i spent hours trying to fix it...no amount of wiping or flashing fixed it.
In the end i gave up...formatted both the internal and external drives and did an odin back to stock. Rerooted and loaded everything back up. ever since everything has installed and worked fine.

THank you for comment

Lost root w/ new microSD card.

Got a good deal on a Sandisk 16gb MicroSD @ costco today so figured i'd upgrade my inspire from the stock 8.
I read some threads and seemed like I should just be able to copy over the data and swap the cards.
No such luck...
Ugh... what a nightmare.
First attempt all my apps showed up but then said they were not installed if I tried to run them.
Put in the old SD card and all was fine.
So did some digging and found that there were two other partitions on the SD card, linux partitions.
I used a partitioning tool to copy over all the partitions to the new SD card.
Now it saw my apps and things were running fine.
Until I opened Market. It found updates to every app I had installed, and when trying to update they would give Invalid pgk. file errors.
I had that problem a long time ago with a bad rom install so figured It wouldn't hurt to reinstall the ROM.
Used Rom Manager to reinstall LeeDroid 3.3.3 Just cleared the dalvik, left data.
Now its running and all my apps are there, the market still found updates, but this time it installed them just fine.
It looked like everything is running ok.
Went into Titanium Backup to restore my accounts - and it tells me it can not find root. super user permission denied.
Now I am lost. Do I need to run Ace kit on this with this new SD card?
Any help would rock!
Thanks.

If you're running a custom ROM you still have root. I would suggest clearing data for super user. You will have to give permissions to apps that require root.
