So I have attempted to flash a rom several times and all it seems to be doing is Backing up the phone and doing a hard reset. The Rom doesn't install. I use rom manager and do everything it says. I select the rom from the SD card. I click okay and that's when it backs up, and reboots. Any ideas?
Go here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1060715
And follow every step in the first post of that thread. You should be good to go.
Finally figured out what I was doing wrong. I feel like a tard. Thanks for the reply.

Right first off, I haven't searched the forum as I'm not exactly sure as to what to search for as I dont know the exact problem.
I want to flash a new ROM on my sensation and this was very easy to do on my old Desire. So what I did was:
1. Followed the tutorial to turn S-OFF - Done.
2. Followed Step 2 to install recovery. Put the file into my SD card but then the instructions weren't clear as I couldn't see any options to click Accept as the guide said.
3. Downloaded the Android Flasher app. Did these options:
- Chose sensation from the menu.
- Downloaded Radio "HTC-RIL 2.2.0169HMQ" and clicked the box.
- Clicked the Recovery box and chose the Recovery file I had put on my SD Card originally.
- Clicked Bootloader and chose "MIUI.us_pyramid_1.11.18_Eng_Deo_ZipA_Signed_TwinDragons"
- Chose my own splash screen.
4. Then I clicked flash and everything was ok. Phone booted into Hboot and the program said complete.
5. I rebooted the phone and the splash screen loads then.....nothing.
I was then unsure what I have done wrong. I tried rebooting several times to no success so I wiped the phone and installed MIUI again via the SD card but to no avail. I can still access ClockworkMod Recovery but thats it. Any help would be mucho apreciated.
I am new to android as well but what i understand from your situation is you flashed the radio wrong . Don't worry your device isn't bricked try re flashing radio VIA ARHD recomended ... I may be wrong but if I helped you out hit the thanx button below
Cheers for the help saddist. Will have a go at this when I'm home as I'm at work the now. I thought that the radio was purely for...well as the name suggests the phone's radio.
Appreciate you taking the time to help as it's a bit of a pain not having access to a phone.

I don't quite get what you've done. Did you try and flash a ROM using Android Flasher? If so you need to walk away and do some serious reading as you WILL brick your phone if you continue

why you don't flash the rom via cwm??

I would have done this at first but, before using the Anroid Flasher app, I did not have access to cwm. I have since tried formatting the phone in cwm and installing from sd card but again, it just hangs after the splash screen. I also downloaded Bulletproof 1.4 to see if applying a Sense ROM had any effect - but again it stalled after the splash.

Yeah your correct Eddy, as my post above states, I turned S-OFF - got a bit stuck and then seen the ANdroid Flasher programme. I thought, smashing problem solved.
You are correct, I do need to do some more reading with the looks of it. On the desire, a programme did all the stuff for you. It seemed to me that the Android flasher was the same.
Where to start reading, I'm a bit unsure as I have a phone which is not booting. I'm not looking for everyone to do all the work for me, but if someone could give me a gentle push where to start in order to get this working again that would be great.
Meanwhile I'll do as you say Eddy and do some more reading.
Thanks everyone for your help. I got it sorted by flashing CWM manually this time and it flashed the ROMS so that they would work. Must have been flashing them wrong somehow but still managing it without errors.
Anyway, again I appreciate you taking the time to help.
OK, So I followed ALL the instructions given here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1575199 (wipe/factory reset, wipe partition cache, wipe dalvik cache, install rom from sd card).
Got to the part of flashing the ROM to my phone, I downloaded all the files given on that page onto my sd card. In Clockwork Mod I kept getting an error saying "Unable to open file, aborting." Yeah that's right, Clockwork couldn't open the file (and yes I have the latest version). So I used the Rom Manager app to do the flashing. Apparently the Eaglesblood ROM failed to recognize the G'Apps version that is listed on eaglesblood page (when you click to download it gives you a different version than what you need) so it installed the ROM without G'Apps. Now, whenever I boot my phone I get the Eaglesblood logo and the phone shuts off. WTF?!!! This ROM totally F ***ed up my phone, Anyone help please? Seriously, I've never had problems of this magnitude with Android before. I've never completely F ***ed up my system to the point where it wouldn't boot, ever. But holy S *** this takes the cake!! Full restore it is, and I don't think I'll ever touch an Eaglesblood rom again...

I didn't have any problems. Did you try redownloading the file to make sure the zip wasn't corrupt? Did you format /system along with what you mentioned? The page links to the April 29 ICS GApps which is correct I don't see what issue you are having there. Can you not even boot to CWM anymore? This will resolve the boot issues putting the stock ROM back on: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1248644
If CWM couldn't open the zip what made you think using ROM Manager was the best thing to do? Seems more like user error that you're just blatantly blaming on the ROM

When CWM couldn't open the file, you probably just had a bad download, the zip was probably corrupt or something you probably just needed to redownload. And you used what pretty much every user in the G2x advises NOT to do, and that's use ROM Manager, it simply does NOT work on our phones and that is probably what messed your phone up and NOT the Eaglesblood ROM. just use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1248644 and it should fix your problem.
BTW next time don't bash a ROM if you didn't know what exactly is the cause of messing your phone up, in this case it was just pure user error. Try reading up next time, trust me it helps..

You do realize that we have literally tens of thousands of people running this ROM right? I can tell by your freakout post that you must be panicking however rest assured this is only a simple case of end-user error. If you'd like me to walk you through the installation steps I'd be more than happy to: [email protected].
Otherwise you may find more helpful support by posting this on the OP that has nearly 100 pages of user activity: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1575199
A device failing to boot is nothing to worry over; I intentially do it to mine, on purpose, several times a week. If you can't access CWM Recovery then that means you didn't install that properly either. If you hotFlashed your recovery using RomManager then this is way you can't quickly recover from a failed boot... You need to install CWM Recovery using the NVFlash tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054492
The next time you softbrick yourself you'll have no trouble booting up into Recovery.
Sorry to see you're 1st post on XDA had to be a bad one, well welcome to the forum anyway. Hang in there bud, its frustrating for even the best of 'em when you first start off with custom ROMs; you'll be coaching others like yourself in no time. Had to be. Everybody that actually reads before rooting knows that you never use rom manager to flash anything on this phone. Research before you blame someone else for your mistake. At least boxer was cool enough to offer guidance.

Lmfao! The way you said everything so sweetly and made the guy look like a complete idiot. Best pwn I've seen in a while.
On a serious note, dude don't freak out. Not that you can't brick a g2x, but it's incredibly difficult. If you're not staring at an s/w upgrade screen, you're probably fine.

First things first let me apologize for being the new guy with the stupid questions. I've searched through many pages and haven't been able to find anybody describing this issue, if there is another thread with the same problem I'd be more than happy to be pointed in the right direction and solve this for myself.
Now, as I'm sure many others did for the first time last night I rooted my GS3 after hearing the CM10 was now stable. I followed a guide on unlocking and everything went smoothly for the most part. I've got EZ Unlock installed and unlocking the phone and I'm using ROM Manager trying to install CM10.
From the ROM Manager app I downloaded CM10 and tried installing. It downloaded just fine but when it reboots it boots to the recovery screen and asks to either reboot or choose a file to load. Under all of that in yellow letters it says something along the lines of "CSA Loaded Successfully" or something like that, sorry I don't have the exact text right now as I am not near my phone. Either way at first I just went with Reboot Now assuming that would reboot and launch the new ROM, instead it launched factory Touchwiz. So I tried again but this time I went in found the ROM on the SD card and tried loading it from there, still to no avail. It attempts to load then comes up with a "Failed To..." message then boots back to factory. I know I am not being very helpful without having the exact wording of these messages and I'll post them soon if I can get them again but I'm hoping somebody can point out an obvious mistake I've made. Either way any and all help is appreciated!
It sounds to me like you didn't install a custom recovery and you're using the factory recovery which means you won't be able yo flash your ROM until you go install your stock recovery. If you don't know how look in droidstyles guide in the development section.

Agreed that's what he needs to do but if he didn't already know to do that then he needs to take a read through droidstyles guide so he has some idea what he is doing and why.
Yes, I'm a noob,to XDA, but I am pretty tech capable otherwise.
Yesterday, I unlocked the bootloader on my OneX, installed TWRP 2.3.x recovery, flashed CleanRom, ended up with a soft bricked the phone (still not sure what happened, but I think it was my stupid ancient work computer), tried to reinstall it, but the zip file was no longer in the SD card, tried to mount in recovery, but it was unsuccessful, tried to reinstall the 2.20 RUU, but it failed (all of these were probably B/C my work computer again). Gave up and came home. Got home to my modern PC, reformatted my SD, transferred Zips again and was finally able to get CleanROM to install correctly. All seems good, I setup the phone last night.
However, I have a problem with hyper-links that Scott has already acknowledged here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38936130&postcount=9922
I would have just asked this in that thread, but I don't have enough posts to write in Dev forums.
So, does anyone mind directing me to some basic instructions for 'flashing' the Link Fix Zip that Scott mentioned? I am assuming it is not the same method as installing the ROM.zip from TWRP, or is it?
After soft bricking yesterday, I'd really prefer some hand holding on this so that I don't mess up the successful CleanROM install.
Thanks in advance.

Hello all,
Been a long time dweller and avid reader here. I fell off for a while with my t700. Made the mistake of not checking which TWRP I was on before flashing. So, though everything appeared to
go okay, the OS didn't load. So then I realized my mistake (I was on TWRP 2.6.3-that3) and figured the way around it might be to flash an older ROM, then update TWRP, then go from there. So
I flashed CROMi- XENOGEN 4.7.0. And it also went into a never ending load. I think because I can still get into recovery there is a way out of this? A simple-ish way? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry to get into this issue with such a stupid newb mistake.
Thanks all,

p.s. I should mention the ROM I was trying to flash was ZOMBI POP 5.1.1

You could go here and update your twrp:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tra...overy-kang-twrp-tf700t-2-8-x-xarea51-t3049395
Follow the instruction on the first post how to install the twrp.....
When you have the latest twrp, you may want to format your /data partition because I believed that it is corrupted while installing the previous ROMs. The format may take a very long time so let it finishes before install your prefer ROM. You should be up running with the new ROM of your choice.... Good lucks,....:fingers-crossed:
Thank you for the help. With a little reading and a couple of failed attempts I got the new TWRP on there. And now it doesn't see the external SD card.....which is where the ROM is. Any ideas about that? I double
checked the card to make sure it didn't get fried. It seems to be fine. And the old TWRP saw the contents just fine. If there isn't a way to activate that, can I somehow transfer the ROM to internal memory instead? Although I hate the idea of not being able to use the SD card for flashing.
Thanks again,
Already been a huge help.
