this is the real deal people GB rom is now rooted
so i am not responsible for any damage YOU cause your phone
anyways ladies and gents here is the moment we've been waiting for
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
a computer
THE GB rom
the zimage-root.tar(bottom of post)
the zimage.tar from the GB rom (also bottom of post)
ODIN
(http://www.mediafire.com/file/1qqk94teauc64nb/Odin3-v1.85.zip)
NOW
flash the GB rom using odin(NOTE I DID NOT USE PIT not sure if it matters)
let the gb rom load up
put usb debugging on
now go back into download mode and get on odin
Flash the zimage-root.tar in the pda section with no pit or anything
after it flashes you will get a bootloop that looks like the fugu tweaks logo
turn the phone off and once again go into download mode
go back into odin and flash the original GB rom zimage.tar
DONE!!!
you now have super user
but you have to go into the market and get busybox which is how you confirm your root
YAAAAAAAAYYYY!!!!

Better battery life my mytouch 4G easily beats my sgs4g in battery life. Another thing is less CPU usage and better RAM management overall.

may i ask something. Why nobody have started yet to make two versions of every rom 1 for cwm and 1 for odin or heimdal.What are you think about that is it possible.it will be nice if there is custom kernel supporting all tweaks and could be integrated on gingerbread for odin , maybe there is some technical difficulties i think odin has options similarly to cwm and need a pc .

Who makes 2 version of every rom one for cwm one for odin? That takes more work and is not necessary and we make a ,cwm version because its easier to rip apart and add things

1080 seems to work better under gingerbread its still buggy but no where near as bad. ill release it into the alpha rom when i post it later (still trying to figure out why root seems to not stick sometimes u have it sometmes u dont) but at least its functional

Flashed and is working great!!! Stock GB then rooted with xboarders Stock GB rom = 100% solid.... at least for me.

nvflash recovery and then flash the camera app but if you want root then flash my build too.

The error is a spoof, just reboot, it installed.
With that said, anyone else have screen dim when loading the new LG Camera. When I pull battery and reboot the dimmed screen goes away, any other work around, as I hate pulling the damn battery.
Is there an easy way to root the official OTA? I want to remove some bloatware and flash the LG cam. The reason I'm on the stock official is because of the baseband which made a huge difference for me (and as far as I know, there's no other way to get it)

hmm.... It gets stuck at step 5...
See post 4 above. Xboarder provider rooted v21e OTA, you can flash over the LG update. It will preserve the baseband. Then simply flash the LG Camera.
Xboarder also provided a bloat remover.zip that you can apply that removes all the TMobile bloat. It could not be simpler.

If I understand correctly, this will replace the Gingerbread camera with the Froyo camera. It doesn't sound like it's possible to have both on the phone at the same time -- is that right?
The reason I ask is that I'm really much happier with the way the Gingerbread camera works with the flash; the Froyo camera generally overexposed nearby things, but the new camera does a good job of regulating the flash and shutter. I'd like to have all the bells and whistles (that I haven't needed yet but might be handy someday) from the Froyo camera, but I'm not willing to sacrifice the improvement in flash photos (which is something I do pretty often).

For what it is worth, mine shows TWLauncher version 2.3.6
i updated today and rooted my phone with SuperOneClickv2.2 give it a little time it took longer then it did before but it got the job done

the phone is so much more smoother now and lot of the lag is gone. but thats gingerbread for u its a much better os than froyo. i loved the phone before but love it a lot more now. this is what android needs to from there phones to show how much faster they are than iphones and keep them UPDATED thats a big thing.

Someone said I mock thunderbolt of course, I do think Thunderbolt make the system smooth,but the 2d and 3d is weaker
so if you guys have time ,you can test it:
1、flash a rom without thunderbolt. (I flash infused 2.2.3 and change it with the same infusion coreA as zeus 5.2).
2、Install some 3d games , for exzample Dungeon Hunter ,You can found 3d game runs quite well and smooth.
3、Then install thunderbolt,and open 3d games again,you see 3d game is laggy obviosly.
Yes,maybe method above for testing is not accurate, I just want share my experience with all friends in this forum.

I have thunderbolt but i used V6 supercharger and its a lot smoother. It tweaks with the RAM. Works with both tweaks on. Try 7,18,20
Zeus has those tweaks already built in.

so why integrate it? If someone need it ,they just install it by theirselves.
Because I build it to my liking and I share it... that's what most deb's do when we build... I build my Tom's like I like to run them...you can remove what u want
