I some how convinced my cousin for a Windows based devices and from somewhere he has got XDA IIs..
But...the screen alignment has to be done 3-4 times till the "Next" option is displayed..then it works fine till the whole ext ROM is installed...But agsain the problem starts....I mean If I tap on "Start" the VOlume Indicator Pops up...like this...
So I align the screen once again...and after say 1/2 hr or so.... same problem... I know there is something wrong either the Touch Panel or the Display or the mother board...
I request if some xpert can inform which one is to be attacked so that I can visit O2 service center...as I trust this more than any one...

If you're not able to get past the splash screen, the hard re-set is made by pushing the comm mgr. , volce record button at the same time. Stick stylus in re-set hole on side of phone, phone should change colors with message on screen to send back to mfg. settings. Push the green hardware phone button. Device should come back on shortly after you do this. All data that was stored in your internal memory will be lost. If somehow you do get to the today screen without a hard re-set, go to the start-up folder in windows and remove (delete) Buttonflo from there.

I've got a MDA which has a broken lcd. Its just cracked slightly, but still displays fine. I did a Clear Storage and now the phone has reset and is giving me the "tap here to set up your device" wizard. I need to bypass this and any screen alignment that may come up since the LCD touch feature no longer works. I've done it before when I got the phone, but I cant find the thread nor remember the steps.
Any help is appreciated.
you really can't. i heard theres a way you can flash a rom where the config has already been done, but i don't remember where i saw it

create a file on the root of your storage card called welcome.not

Just create a file named WELCOME.NOT on your storage card and do a hard reset.
HI , I had this problem with all my old crashed PPC ,,, so delete this file and reboot ,,, /Windows/Startup/Welcome.exe
U can use the "Activesynce Explorer to browse the Windows Directory

THANK YOU SO MUCH kfletch and le_cactus. I'm not sure which of these worked since I did both but the welcome screen FINALLY went away. it took a while. i had to install the Mobiler software and I had problems getting my ActiveSync up but I created the welcome file by going to the desktop of my pc, right click, new , text document, i changed the default name "New Text Document.txt to Welcome.not" then I right clicked to copy it. Next---Once the Microsoft Activesync came up, I clicked on Explore --> My Windows Based Device ---> Storage Card then I selected paste to paste the welcome.not file. After this it gets a little tricky because your device has to sync again to filter the file back down to the phone. This took a while. Then after a few resets, the Mobiler software finally read 'connected', then it gives you a screen shot of your mobile device, i did a soft reset a few MORE times and it worked. It's not as cut and dry as previous posts made it sound. it's a pain in the butt.
My touch screen (T-Mobile Wing) stopped working after I used it in the bathroom while in the bathtub (I don't know what the heck I was thinking), well later that day the screen stopped working and the genius at tech support had me do a hard reset and software upgrade, which did NOT help. (whatever you do, don't call tech support, especially if the white dot beneath the battery is another color---you're screwed!!!)--AFTER tech support messes up your phone they won't bother to help you if they think it's due to water damage! I'm going to see if I can locate the forum regarding reloading the touch screen drivers. I think that may be the problem.

my screen is also broken, and i bypassed the welcome screen, but when i tried to install mymobiler, i cannot let the phone install remote.exe

Hi there i have an HTC TYTN, happens that i'm suposed to have the same problem (maybe broken screen).
The phone was working fine untill today.
I can't bypass the screen alignment; i tryed both ways.
What can i be doing wrong?

Bypassing with "logic"

In my case; i found a way to bypass it.
My screen has a 4mm scratch in the top left of the screen.
so i just pressed the bottom of the cursor (NOT IN THE MIDDLE WHERE IT'S SUPPOSED TO PRESS - "in the top left cursor" - where the scratch is)
after that i could use my phone again.
Also after this try finding the correct registry screen alignment and save it.
It will work properly.
welcome.not works for TyTN II with unresponsive touch screen . Blank micro SD card with just one blank file welcome.not. You can insert the sd card just before you hard reset

I want to know that how can I switch on my imate k-jam.Yesterday i downloaded a small game which is in ZIP format.When I opened it there was a VB format file.I ignore it that whatever the file extension,I opened it,then internet explorer opened and i closed it just then my mobile was switched off.Then I switched it on and it was started and then the welcome screen i.e:"tap the screen to set up your windows based mobile",and the mobile was restarted again.It keeps on going for 4 to 5 times.Then on 6th time the "T-Mobile screen" appears and the phone was off.I done the hard format because i thought that it was a virus(but I didn't know that it is completely done or not)Because a screen appears( i forgot the contents of that screen but it was something like that "default to press the send key or press any key to exit") but i didn't press any key for a while and the screen disappears.And after that my Imate K-jam was not started yet.I thought that the battery has gone down and i charged it for an hour but i didn't started.Please help me!!! hi guys, faisal here. I bought a chinese smartphone few days ago. It has OS: windows mobile 6.5 professional, 480*800 full touch screen, gps and some other features and written htc on the back of the cover. It's a bit slow but works . But two days ago, I saw a pop up screen showing some kind of error (I forgot the name of the file, but the file probably starts with "c....."). I tap the ok button, then another error message came (this time it was google maps), I again tap the ok button, but it was not moving from the today screen. I thought restarting will solve this problem. I restarted it. It started normally, but when the brown windows screen came it got stuck, I thought It's just taking time, I waited an hour, but there was no today screen, only the brown screen and it happens every time I start it till now.
How can I solve this problem? I read some article on rom flashing, but rom flashing probably needs an active device and synchronized.
guys please give some solution......
