4G with Rogers Nexus S?? - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was just downtown Niagara Falls and I am with Rogers and my NS says 4G at the top. I thought all GSM Nexus S phones could only get 3G

Odd. I have never experienced this look up the bands Rogers uses maybe they have a 4g band compatible with the phone I know GSM ns uses 850 1900 2100 3g bands for hsdpa hsupa

Just googled it you are getting 3.5G hspa+ which is capable of 21mbps data speeds. Luckily you Canadians get way higher speeds than we do in the states because networks are oc12 standard. Hope this answers your ?

I didn't think the Nexus S other than Sprint's could get 4G?

its just fake 4G, they are calling their HSPA network which is 3.5G and just showing it as "4G".

Sensation 4g question

Can this phone get 4g speed using a HSPA+ network???
It can go up to 14,4mbps. It's exactly the same as the european sensation, except the name.
I've used speed test and got 4 mbs down and 2 mbs up but I don't think I was in a good signal place

So, I can use this phone on att's 4g network.

No, you won't have hspa+ speed on AT&T. It doesn't have the right band for it. Only compatible in europe and tmobile US.

If you want to use it on at&t and get 3g/h, you need a bell sensation from Canada.

Rogers show 4G and 4G LTE?

Does the Roger version show 4G and 4G LTE or H+ and something else for LTE?

Yes. Above is correct
confirmed.

What frequency bands?

What are the minimum frequency bands required to use Straight Talk's (AT&T) HSPA+? I'd like to buy a Nexus One but I'm not sure if it will get HSPA+

If you get the gsm nexus off of Google everything will work fine. I believe ATT uses HSPA+ at 850 MHz.. which I am using now on the HTC One S.. and 1900 MHz .

Quick question on an Unlocked Rogers phone

So I'm thinking about getting an unlocked note from Rogers and the specs are
2G- GSM 850/900/1800/1900
3G- HSPA 850/1900/2100
4G- LTE 1700/2100
Will I get 3G / 4G with Tmobile in USA Las Vegas Nevada?
