[Q] External SD wont mount to computer - T-Mobile LG G2x

As the tittle says, my external SD card will no longer mount to my computer. The internal mounts just fine. I can see the external using a file explorer when USB mass storage isn't connected. I use my external card as a "thumbdrive" constantly and it has always mounted just fine, this just cropped up today.
I am running Bionix2 if that makes a difference.
What can I try to get it mounting properly again?
UPDATE:
I have tried turning on and off USB debugging
I have tried pulling the SD card, booting, turning back off, reinserting the SD card and booting again.
I have tried uninstalling the LG driver from the computer and reinstalling it (ADB)
None of these have worked.
The empty drive shows up in "computer" as a drive, the SD card just never mounts to it. When USB mass storage is ON the SD card definitely unmounts from the phone.
This is very frustrating as I need some files off the card and I don't have access to a micro SD card reader.
UPDATE2:
Got the files I needed by copying them from the external card to the internal card, connecting, mounting and copying them from the internal card to my computer. It is still a PITA though not as urgent as it was.

So last night I pulled the SD card, copied everything off and formatted it on my computer, didn't change a thing. I was then going to reload the ROM I am using. This didn't work as I am running external CWM recovery and it wouldn't mount the SD card either.
As a last effort before trying another card, I formatted (erase=format?) the card through Android. Everything seems to work fine again. I copied everything back to the SD card without an issue. CWM sees it again as well.
What could have caused the card to spontaneously need to be reformatted through Android after working perfectly well for 2 months?

I had the same issue, I think when you install different roms some use different ext for the drives, thats why its critical that after each rom you wipe wipe wipe, and as we know now, lol format sd card

[Q] Memory card won't mount?

My phone won't mount its memory card. I go in Settings and look at SD & Phone Storage and find the options to Mount SD Card and to Erase SD card are both dimmed. I opened the phone and reinserted the card and this does not help. I connected to my computer and was not offered the option to mount as disk, like I am normally am.
Any ideas what the problem is? How do I recover the data on my card?
Thanks
Any suggestions?
Hum, can you mount the SD card in 4ext recovery ?

How do I do this?
Also if I go into clockwork recovery to try to view my NANDROID backups for possible restore of one, it says can't mount /sdcard. The phone seems to be acting like there is no card in it at all.
maybe try with multimount (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.rafoid.multimountsdcard.widget). if it doesn't help you can try connecting your sd card directly to your computer using an adapter. newer notebooks often have sd card slots, so you don't have to buy one.

So, have you seen this utility mount a card the phone wouldn't mount without it? This just appears to mount card simultaneously for phone and computer. I can't mount the card for either phone or computer.
I got a card reader and the bad card won't mount on a PC or Mac either. Put a new card in the phone and the phone uses it fine, but I lost the data on the card.
The bad card was Patriot brand and barely lasted two weeks.
How often do memory cards fail? Is data loss a frequent thing for Android phone users due to these tiny memory cards? (The larger ones I use in cameras seem to be reliable and do not trash my photos.)

Mounting SDcard... always a problem

Well ive tried various Roms.... formatted the card and the internal storage in CWM. Also partitioned the card using the windows program MiniTool Partition Wizard.
and still i get issues when i want to mount sdcard.
It seems like they (internal/external sd card) each take turns mounting.
Anybody help me out???
I've had problems mounting my sd card as well, tried several things, what worked for me was to use a different cable to connect the phone to my PC (even though the cable I was using before still works for other devices!). Try it, might work. Good luck

damaged sd card

So I downloaded latest cm9 build 10/25 and was about to transfer it to my micro SD card and noticed none of my files were there. So I went to settings and saw it wasn't even mounted. So I clicked mount and said damaged SD card, might have to format. Is there a way to get everything g back with out formatting? Luckily I have everything backed up on my comp. But if i didn't that would suck, really bad. Just wanna no why this happened and if possible to get my files back without formatting and transferring from comp
Try popping the card into an adaptor and mounting on a computer running Windows. Had a similar issue with my card after GB crashed and corrupted my card, but Windows was able to fix it.

Internal SD not regognized

I flashed Beanstalk and CM10.1 and after every reboot my internal sd card is not recognized at all. My external sd is still showing up if I go into it. I wiped/flashed so many times that I am still having the same problems. May be I should stick to Gingerbread until my next upgrade. Here are some photos.

I have the same issue here, even though I done the fix permission thing it still boots up with the internal storage not mounted, one solution here was for me to plug in the phone in for usb storage and when it prompted usb connection click on it and let it load, then disconnect and eject the usb mass storage from the computer, then unplug and disconnect usb mass storage from phone, the phone then scans for both internal and external sd cards, you then have access to both SD cards, but this is just a temporary fix to my issues as well.
My problem here is that when the phone recognize both card and plugging the phone into usb storage and removing it the internal sd card won't mount back but external stays mounted, I can't find a fix to this issues, I've searched around and can't find any answers. I've tried reformatting going back to stock, formatting systems, etc.
I'm currently on Carbon ROM, which by the way is one of the best ROM I've had, just that issue I'm having.

I moved the SD card into my PC and remove all contents. Format the SD card to Fat32 and then replace all my contents back on it. This worked for me. :good:

Broken SD Card

Hi. I'm using my SD Card formatted as internal storage and yesterday my phone stop detect it I try to romove and put again, restart phone and it's not work. I have important data on this card, so anyone knows how can I extract them? External reader or something? Please help.
On windows, use EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard
It'll work when I formatted card as a internal storage (when you insert a SD card for the first time on a Marshmallow device, you can choose to either use the card as Portable Storage or Internal Storage)? That's main problem... And if yes, how can connect this card to PC when my phone didn't recognize the card?
