Hi there! Is there anything I can put to the status bar or on the desktop to show packet data/3G availability? I.e. a widget or some application icon that will show whether packet data/3G available in the current cell
Thanks in advance

Hello,
My phone is always on roaming mode (without cost). So the R is always displayed and it's not possible to know if we are connected nor the speed (H or 3G).
I want to write a software which display an icon H, 3G or none when the phone is connected or not. But what is the best way? Service or not? Activity or not? Service called by activity? Service without activity?
Thanks to help me
Hello, so, today I bought the Nexus 5 (32GB) and noticed a weird thing. When I pull down the notification, on the bottom, instead of showing the carrier name, it shows "not connected to the internet". However when I connect to any network (mobile or WiFi), it then shows the carrier name. In the notification panel with the switches (like WiFi, GPS and stuff,) it shows the correct carrier name

This is the first app I have developed and it is known as Network Ping, I want to share the app I created. Because maybe it might be useful to you guys and I will also be able to get some feedback
About Network Ping
Now I have a question did you ever connect to your Mobile Data or a WIFI network and somehow you can’t browse or load any videos? Or what if you are already browsing then suddenly the page doesn’t load and you are constantly refreshing and you are not sure what is wrong.
This is where NETWORK PING comes in handy. The application runs in the background monitoring the status of your network connection in real-time. Once it encounters a problem with the connection, it will notify you if your network connection has Internet Access or Not.
NETWORK PING Lite provides the following features:
Display the status of your Network Connection in the status bar.
Notifies the user if their Network Connection has Internet Access in the Status Bar and Notification Panel.
Notifies the user if their Internet Connection has Timed Out in the Status Bar and Notification Panel.
Notifies the user if they are connected using WIFI, Mobile Data or None in the Status Bar and Notification Panel.
