Hi,
You need to find a ROM for your EVO. Try checking: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=653. Generally you need to turn S-OFF and Radio S-OFF, etc. to have a proper safe flashing of the ROM and the radios. Follow the guides on the link and tell me if it worked for you.

[Q] Help w/ CDMA hero.

Hey guys I love the site its helped me root and ROM my CDMA Hero.
I have encountered a small large problem though.
I rooted my hero and decided to try out a custom ROM I chose Darch Legend. Well I wiped, flashed and it worked. I tried to go back to stock . In the process i lost root access. Then i tried formating the sd card. didnt work.
My question is can i save my phone, if so how? I tried re-rooting and that didnt work. I was thinking about using the the RUU updater but i decided to ask before i screw up my phone more.
Any help is greatly apperciated. Thank you.
Here are the instructions i used to root my phone. The Updater is in the second post.
...Well i guess im not allowed to post a link but it was regaw_leinad's guide to rooting CDMA HERO
After trying a few things i can get to the clockwork recovery screen. Any suggestions? Should i just wipe and Flash a new Rom?

[Q] S-off and Gold Card?

I'm moving from a Samsung Captivate to this phone very soon. I was just looking around to familiarize myself with different things about these two phones.
One thing about my device (Captivate) that I love is the Odin software that allows you to flash back to stock. Is there anything like that for the HTC Inspire 4G? Or any way to get back to stock no matter what state the phone is in (as long as it's not a hard brick)?
Also, what is a Gold Card? I've seen the term used everywhere with absolutely no explanation! And what is s-off'ing your phone do?
Thanks
There is no app like odin but its really hard to break a htc device. I have bricked a captivate with bad odin flash and have never bricked a htc phone.

But how, if I wanted to, would I get back to stock? Like if I flash a custom ROM (let's say CM7), how would I get back to stock?
And still, what's s-off and gold card?
I also haven't seen anything on tethering (Mobile AP... I use this all the time on my Captivate).

Yes all you need to do is flash the ruu which is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=952224
Then simply turn S-ON use bubby's one click here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=961406
S-OFF is turning the security off so you can flash custom roms.
The gold card enables you to root the phone and turn s-off.
hope this answers your questions.
edit: I also think its flashing with CWM is a tad better then flashing with odin because you backup and recover your rom exactly as it was. All you need a computer to do is put the rom.zip on your sd card then you flash the rom from the phone and not your computer.

Note that it is recommended to get S-On BEFORE running the RUU to get back to stock

I'm still utterly confused as to where to start, and it's getting frustrating.
The Captivate forums at least had a sticky telling someone who just got their phone for the first time how to get started. There's nothing like that here. I'm afraid to do anything... I feel like I might brick it.
My main point: how would I flash my first ROM? What do I do? In what order?
All assuming that this is on a stock ROM, just as it is out of the box. I haven't changed anything (installed a few apps, but nothing that would affect rooting/flashing stuff).
Thanks :\

Follow carefully. Worked perfectly for me, I did it on day one when I got this...and threw my captivate out the window.
you're not the only one .. i am still reading up and getting familiar with it all as well .. to me the captivate (and galaxy tab) were easy to root and flash roms ... but the HTC is seeming a little intimidating at the moment till it finally clicks with me how it all works.

start here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970824
you need to:
make gold card (watch Youtube video) or see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=952352
ROOT your phone : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=961406
s-off : it is done if you used the link in point two
ENG s-off: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=855403
flash ROM of your choice, this is the one I am using: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=965207
flash kernel: in the above ROM it is included
flash radio: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=896597
enjoy your phone and buy one of these guys a cup of coffee for their hard work
I'll be honest with you. The only experience I had with android was flashing my wife's captivate with the leaked froyo with odin. I came from a blackberry bold to the inspire (bought it outright). So I can tell you I was pretty confused, about what to do and how to do it. The link the posted above is how I did mine for the most part. To be completely honest it looks a lot more confusing then it really is. I just followed the instructions on the video to a tee, and followed the dev's instructions for flashing their rom. Once you do it the first time its simple after that. Almost all the dev's read their threads and will answer any question you have, as long as you ask politely. I know this doesn't help you very much, but I just want to assure you that it is not as hard as it looks by any means.

S-on help

ok...i'm trying to unroot a friends inspire as its doing nothing but give problems even after wiping and flashing multiple roms. its a faulty phone. no doubt. try to return to stock.
the s-on tool is throwing up an error.....
attempting to power cycle eMMC....failed.
module failed to load. no file or directory.
you should be s-on....
but i'm totally not s-on.
is it because i'm runnin with cm7 currently? it did scan the kernel version and came up cm.
his recovery wont stop freezing either. theres really something wrong. its frustrating as hell that i cant just wipe and flash without i freezing ****in up.
Yes, gfree requires a very specific radio and a pretty specific kernel. Gfree was built to work with the ROM that we know as the "downgrade" ROM (HTC ver 1.32.405.6). The good news is that you won't have to go through the trouble of a gold-card since you're already S-OFF. Get the ROM in PD98IMG format here:

Help! Wrong radio!!

Alright, so I've had an htc sensation running on leedroid 3.10 for quite some time now. Recently it started to restart randomly, so I decided to upgrade my rom. So then I attempted to install insertcoin ICS, but I needed a new radio. So I chose one figuring it would work and now my device doesn't connect to internet or even my data. Whenever I try to install a different radio now to attampt fixing it, it says I have the wrong CID! I NEED my phone to work soon because i have a lot of important things to do that involve it!! Thanks for all help and please respond soon! FYI it says my radio is 10.11.9007.06_M2. Should I maybe reflash the hboot?
EDIT: And in case you're wondering, I've been searching for the solution for hours. I've never been more afraid of anything not working than this phone, and I can't afford a new phone, so please help!
First, you need to be superCid in order to install any radio without issue, Have a look in this post, Step 4
After that, you need to install corresponding firmware before flashing ICS rom. read this Thread

Hi,
10.11.9007.06_M2 is a few steps backwards/downwards on the radio ladder.
You can see the order HERE
What is your actual plan?
Do you want ICS?
If you want ICS ,you either need Super CID,or look at THIS POST
Right now there are 2 ICS bases:
3.12.....Sense 3.5
3.24.....Sense 3.6
When you install the appropriate firmware for either ROM,it will have the new radio inside the PG58IMG.zip
A good thread to follow is HERE
If you are not confident about upgrading to ICS,you could just flash the radio:
10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2
and carry on with GingerBread.

May have bricked phone Please Help {SOLVED}

So I just rooted (only root not turn s-off) my sensation and went to fast and went right away to flash a custom rom. After the boot screen has been on for sometime I look around the threads some more and see that I need s-off to flash custom roms. I didnt make a backup of my rom and it was incredibly stupid of me. I need help. Please let me know what I can do to get ANY version of android running on my phone. I have been searching the forums and will continue to search. Thanks
UPDATE: FIXED WITH THIS GUIDE I JUST FOUND
