Hey guys I love the site its helped me root and ROM my CDMA Hero.
I have encountered a small large problem though.
I rooted my hero and decided to try out a custom ROM I chose Darch Legend. Well I wiped, flashed and it worked. I tried to go back to stock . In the process i lost root access. Then i tried formating the sd card. didnt work.
My question is can i save my phone, if so how? I tried re-rooting and that didnt work. I was thinking about using the the RUU updater but i decided to ask before i screw up my phone more.
Any help is greatly apperciated. Thank you.
Here are the instructions i used to root my phone. The Updater is in the second post.
...Well i guess im not allowed to post a link but it was regaw_leinad's guide to rooting CDMA HERO
After trying a few things i can get to the clockwork recovery screen. Any suggestions? Should i just wipe and Flash a new Rom?

Hey guys, today i attempted to root my HTC MAGIC 32A, and install KingKlick's 2.1 Eclair with HTC Sense for Magic v1.1. The rooting went fine, and i partitioned the sd card using the recovery tool (I followed this guide and used the downloads in that: www~theunlockr~com/2009/08/29/how-to-root-the-htc-magic-in-one-click/) for some reason, the device wont boot, and i tried wiping and reinstalling the update rom, with no success, it just stalls at the boot screen. Now i see that i did make the mistake of not updating my radio, which is at 3.22~ something, and im not sure my sd card was CAT 6. so i dont know what to do know. I can still access the recovery root menu , and was wondering what is the next step from here, or how do i return to the stock 1.5 cupcake firmware.
Anybody's insight is greatly appreciated

Hey guys,
I have been following these forums for quite some time and finally I have decided to join.
The problem I have is as follows;
I own a HTC Dream that runs on Android 1.5 and everything (recovery, radio, SPL) is just as I got it. Now, I live in South Africa and I know what I have to do to flash the recovery, rom etc. However I cannot do this. There are two things that I have tried:
1) The normal guide from the Cyanogen wiki. The first step to downgrade to RC7 or RC29 is where I get the problem. My HTC loads the dreaimg.nbh and then it tells me that I cannot update as I have the "wrond device id". This is after trying both RC versions. I assume this is because I have a South African G1.
2) I used the instant root application to root my HTC successfully. Then I try to load a new recovey image (CM 1.4, Amon Ra etc). It flashes the recovery but when restarting and trying to run recovery it, it just doesn't load. It freezes with the HTC Dream logo. I have flashed my recovery backup again.
Can someone please help me? I really want to try some custom roms. I would really appreciate any advice or info that might help me.
Thanks

Wrong section, try G1 Q&A.
Two things will happen when you post a question in the development section: you will be told to post in the Q&A section, and to search. If you don't want to be flamed, do those things.

Trying to down load gingerbread on rooted evo.... I try to install the pc361mgzip,told me could read it on SD card. Evo was rooted when I got it, so I don't really known what I'm doing can I get some help.. also I'm running on a none contract carrier,, will this mess me up???
Hi,
You need to find a ROM for your EVO. Try checking: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=653. Generally you need to turn S-OFF and Radio S-OFF, etc. to have a proper safe flashing of the ROM and the radios. Follow the guides on the link and tell me if it worked for you.

Hi, ive just tried s-off and rooting my HTC desire so that I can flash custom ROM's, this is my first time doing this ever and ive been studying it for weeks, I cant say I was calm about doing it, in fact I was bricking myself all the way through, however it seems to have gone well other than one slight thing.
After careful study I decided to go with a video and step-by-step insturctions on the unlockr site, including links to all the required files.
I have the Revo Stock hboot now and also have clockworkmod on my phone, I followed the root instructions to the letter as well as follow the video, however decided to use clockworkmod first to make a backup and restore image to my sdcard first incase anything went wrong, I then installed the superuser.zip file, it said this all went fine and installed successfully and enjoy, after a reboot of the phone, I have no superuser in the apps menu ?
Tried installing it again, once again it said successful and enjoy, but still no superuser in the apps menu ?
Im also new to these forums and wasnt sure if this was the right place to post this, any help would be greatly appreciated.
For S-OFF and root I used Rovolutionary.
And after that I changed partition table from stock hboot to cm7r2 using Alpharev.
Flashing custom rom hundreds times and I don't have any problem.
I suggest following: reflash and back to default stock froyo and try again.
Hi guys,
First and foremost, may I just say a big thank-you for all the information I've acquired over the past few days. It's been a great help. Unfortuntaely, I'm now after more!
I have successfully rooted my HTC Sensation and have S-Off'd and installed the Recovery Mod on the phone. This went fine, without a hitch.
I then tried to install the new Insert Coin 5.1.6 rom onto the phone, the install went fine but on reboot, the phone is in a constant loop. When I go back into the bootloader and try to update using the PG58IMG.zip and it just says 'CID Mismatch'.
Fortunately I made a backup of the image but when I go to resotre it I get the same issue. The original splash screen is back, but the infinite loop still exists.
I have a feeling I didn't flash the firmware to the correct version. The only thing is now, there's no way I can see of getting to the device apart from using a multi-card reader to access the SD card.
I'm also unsure of what firmware to use with this Rom? I've heard about editing the andriod-info.txt file to include my phone model or CID but isn't there one with my model already included?
Thanks for any help you can offer guys, I really appreciate it. I was really looking forward to trying these roms but I kinda messed it all up
Cheers
David
Can anyone please steer me in the right direction
Hope this helps
