[APP] Vibration Notifier - Android Apps and Games

Maybe you know this situation: Your phones lays on your desk, you're in the kitchen and you get called. You do not hear your ring and when you come back to your desk, you don't notice that you were called because your device has no notification LED (and you're not using NoLED)...
Therefore I made another small app, called "Vibration Notifier" (name is not final) which does the following:
When you have a missed call or an unread SMS, the app keeps vibrating every X minutes for Y times or until you turn on the display of your device.
It supports missed calls, SMS, GMail and any other app which puts a notification in the status bar once a new event occurs (like WhatsApp, Google Voice, etc.)
I think the attached screenshot describe the intention of the app pretty good
App is now available throught the Android Market: Vibration Notifier

Like vibrating every X minutes won't drain the battery? That's no excuse, make it work!
Nice idea for an app though, keep up the good work.

thanks
i also might have found a way to get some gmail notifications. i'm not yet sure if i have broken something now because i had to change some stuff, but it seems to work so far

This is a great idea for an app. I'll install it once it's in the market!
Also to people talking about battery use, vibrating uses hardly any battery at all. It is not going to be noticeable.
I have a tasker task that does something somewhat simmilar... when my battery level drops below 15%, my phone starts vibrating once every minute. It's a subtle "charge me!!!" hint.

I think this is a great idea even for the people that have LEDs like me. However, I don't think the limitation to calls, sms and gmail is a good idea. You should find a way of making all the notifications vibrate every x minutes or adding a lot more to your app. For example Whatsapp (I installed your app today but noticed it was only for certain notifications so uninstalled it ) and let's say Twitter, Facebook... all this stuff.
Looking forward to a more complete version of this!!

Will try it. So are you saying that Tasker does what this app does??

Nice one the thing I miss most on my Samsung is the notification light from most my previous phones. Will give this a go.

can I set it to (only) notify me for specific contact(s)?

Great idea!
Would be great if more notifications are available... (KakaoTalk?) Also, would be nice if there is a quiet hours option.

sounds like a good idea to me, but i wont install it as long as there are no "silent hours" to set in the settings or an option to enable/disable this using tasker as i dont want to have my phone vibrating on my nightdesk when sleeping ;-)
so see this as a feature request...

just uploaded a new version to the first post, can the SGS2 user test this version? thanks
i've put a "silent hour" option on the todo list

My Samsung Galaxy S2 vibrates fine now =) but if I set it to 2 minutes, it takes four minutes pause between the vibrations
The is one of the best app ever ! THX !

Works great on my Atrix! Thanks! I have the LED but find the app useful in case my phone is in my pocket and I dont hear/feel it the first time.

Great app, but 1 minute set is just under 3 minutes realtime. I seen you uploaded a new version, I got the previous one. It's running on a motorola Defy with 2.2.
Your notification toggles app is a winner too!

Great app,great work...

Touiteur twitter app

great article on what looks to be a very promising twitter app for android.
video walkthrough in there as well as a release date of feb 16
waiting anxiously!
http://androinica.com/2010/02/15/touiter-will-eventually-be-the-best-android-twitter-app/
and developer site is
http://levelupstudio.com/
Hmm, will try it when it's out.
I tried many twitter apps and it's going like this:
1. Twicca (beta)
2. TwidroidPRO
3. Seesmic
999. Tweetcaster
It's out!
How much does it cost? I can't check because I'm in Canada.

There is a free version and a €1.99 premium version.
Yes its out!
Trying it out now. The layout is great. I also turned on the group by color option in settings.
Definitely best ui for a twitter android client.
My only complaints so far is that refreshes seem a bit slow. I don't know if this has to do with the different login method. This doesn't store your login information on the app, instead you authorize it to connect with your twitter account so if your phone gets inti the wrong hands you can deactivate twitter permission from anywhere.
Also I would love to see threaded conversations.
Well, it's not bad. Nice longpress and shortpress features but only 10m refresh time?
Also like the oauth login.
I tried it a few minutes and right after using it I opened twicca and disliked the amount of tweets you see without scrolling on twicca xD Touituer is better with this

Oh lol, the premium one isn't worth it.. you can only set a color for LED notification and a light theme..

You'll kill your battery mighty fast if you're refreshing under 10 minutes lol.

It's got a nice UI but still like Seesmic.
Also does this have twitter trends? because I can't find it.
It looks nice, but I still prefer Swift.
Fantastic. Exactly the type of app I've been waiting for. It's very pretty, functional, nice flare, looks like a lot of work went into it. Refreshing is a little slow, but it will improve with time. One of the best apps out there.
I can't wait to see more apps like this from Android developers.

[APP] ICS SMS Beta [4.0+][UPD July 7]

ICS SMS is a replacement for the stock Messaging app, for those that want the vanilla Holo theme, with or without stock ICS. Currently only supports SMS (Sorry no MMS yet guys!) and aims to provide a minimalistic SMS app, that fits in with the rest of the Ice-Cream Sandwich look and feel.
This app is still in beta, and being actively developed on (unfortunately its not my day job though) so bear this in mind with any feedback!
Download it now from the play store!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.androidproductions.ics.sms
Any bug reports you have PLEASE attach a logcat of whats going on - it makes the whole process a lot easier!
Any feature requests stick them in a reply here, or get in touch direct, and I'll see about getting it included!
Features
usual messaging features - Wouldn't be a messaging app without one!
POPUP DIALOG!
Customizable notifications
6 Different themes
Ability to disable other messaging notifications (NOTE: This doesn't always play well with GoSMS)
Notification Privacy Mode - Don't display a received message in notifications
'In reply to...' - See what the last message you sent to a person was - straight from the dialog
Call direct from SMS view
SMS Forwarding
Willing to do some more involved testing? Send me a PM, and I'll add you to the list of testers that get development versions of the app before it gets put into the market.

Outside of a few bugs I am pleasantly suprised by this. Obviously Mms support is a huge must, all these new beta messaging apps coming out also miss Mms support so if you want to beat the rush you better work on that quick. Other than that, using the ics framework background that you do, isnt so nice with the new theme engines as whatever background your using gets some interesting themeing images sometimes.
As a praise im loving the pop up, its almost exactly what im looking for the only thing I would like more is if it it was stretched out to full edge of screen but less width and lifted to the top, like miuis pop up. All the pop up add ons are in the middle nowadays except miui's and miui's does it right.
I also LOVE your in reply too button, being able to see the last thing I said real quick is freaking awesome!
Love the idea of being able to do a quick reply for the pop up instead of pressing reply in order to reply. But it could be better if it could sync the contact pictures (facebook) or maybe have a widget for the app.
man can u make a stock ics messaging theme. i really like the app cant wait till it has mms support
Mms is definitely the most requested feature, so that's the next thing that's going to appear in the app. Only problem is that I can't test it myself with my phone plan, so I will have to rely on others for testing. Mms viewing will be the first release, and sending will be second.
Thanks for all the feedback so far! Glad to see its appreciated.

great app!
just wish you could control font size for near sighted people.
Good, But missing mms and Facebook contact photo sync. Theme and extra features are new otherwise identical feature wise to tim hutts version on market, of which I like the light theme better myself. Also lacks feature of clicking on contact picture in thread to bring up their contact info. I don't care for it but I did notice. Reading white on a black background hurts my eyes. In the theme could you maybe give a light or dark option? At least in thread view, in thread select dark is fine. Maybe consider doing that nice striped background from the aosp dialer or holomusic on background of thread select?
I love devs that keep up on their work and I hope you are working diligently to get mms at least working.
Thanks!

Id love to test it for you, my brother and I live together and both have unlimited messaging and plenty of data to spare, we both have gnexus and both are rooted so we are damn similar except he uses go sms. I can be the sender or receiver at any time and actually be using the network or wifi. Send me a PM
Edit- the Themes only seem to theme the receiver text and the text in the conversation list. Its nice for someone who doesnt use a custom theme engine but for the most part is a lil outdated, I would suggest opening up a cm9/7 theme engine apk and using the included framework info there so that, your sms app themes with the theme engine, a first since the included sms default app only has like 10% ability to be themed (NOTE - it already does this at like 60%, it just needs alot of clean up so that all themes make it look wonderful). Maybe add this as an option right along with the holo themes you have? Also the pop ups need a Mark as read button so that the Notification will clear from the status bar. And as mentioned before, the worst thing that can happen for a pop up is to pop up right in the middle of everything, move it up and out of the way, and if this is possible, when in landscape mode make it wrap to the top and left borders? I dont know any system that does that, and it moves itself the most out of the way from say a movie or something that your watching on the phone.
Looks great, I just wish it supported MMS but I will definitely use it when it does!

This and emoji. Nice work!
Just downloaded it and played with it for a bit. So far, it's looking pretty good!
I know it's still being worked on, but here's a couple feature suggestions:
1) Ability to add multiple contacts to recipients. I send "mass" texts all the time, whether it be to 2 people or 20 people.
2) Ability to set a ring tone or vibration for the notification.
Great start though! Can't wait for mms to be built in, and to see the progression of this app!
Using the included phone dialer if I tell it go to SMS it force closes and if I use ex dialer then it goes to a new SMS for existing names. The difference being ex dialer sends it with parentheses and a dash and your SMS app doesn't include those when looking up numbers

[App] [2.2+] AlarMe (formerly known as Smart Alarm) - Holo alarm with a twist

I had totally forgot to post this here...
Here's my latest app (after a 2 years pause.. I'm not a fulltime developer, nope), created off my own needs but I guess there's plenty of people out there that could make use of it
AlarMe is, indeed, an alarm, but it's also weather-based
Let me explain: if you, like me, would rather ride your bike to work instead of that boring car, at least when it's sunny, why would you wake up 15 minutes earlier than you should just because you have to account for the traffic jam you'd be stuck in if you were driving a 4 wheels vehicle or, worse, why should your alarm ring at the same time whether you had to take any mean of public tranportation instead of your own?
Another scenario: let's suppose you usually have to wake up at 7:30 to go to work, that's because your commute takes 15 minutes on a clear sky day
Your default alarm would ring, indeed, at 7:30 but today is a rainy day, and now your commute is up to, probably, twice the time.. and you're late for work
Enter AlarMe
You can now create personalized weather rules for each and every alarm
Default time could be the aforementioned 7:30 but then you'll add a rule that makes the alarm go off at 7:10 if it rains, 7:00 in case of storm, perhaps even 7:45 if it's sunny cause you'll just ride your awesome bike that zips through traffic!
Features:
- the alarm, of course
- up to 6 different weather rules: clear, foggy, cloudy, stormy, rainy, snowy
- full holo UI with a flippable cards layout for the alarm list (everything works on 2.2 devices as well)
- 24 hours / AM-PM and Fahrenheit / Celsius visualization options
- 2 different weather providers (so far)
- Notifications to view/dismiss snoozed alarms
- More stuff such as automatic / manual location and customizable alarm / snooze durations
- MP3 ringtones
Coming soon:
- Bugfixes (can never have enough of those)
- Skip the alarm if a certain weather condition is met (rather than just setting a different time.. you don't want to go jogging if it rains, right?)
Coming sometime in the future
- NFC support to dismiss the alarm by touching a tag
- Maybe traffic info / estimated commute time, someone already asked for it so I'll give it a try
Download
The app is already up on the Play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mdk.smartalarm
Expect frequents updates, usually once a week

You've made a great app, but I think the target audience is smaller than you'd think.
Do you think you could make an option to delay the alarm if it is a snow day? It won't be for a long time and this will only be for people in school, but it would be a really nice feature.
Also is there any possibility of creating dismiss options like solving math problems etc.?

The delay in case of snow is actually what the app does... you can set any weather rule to either delay or anticipate the alarm, just choose a default time then set the alarm for a couple of hours later in case of snow
The math solving could be added in, yes, as well as NFC reading, once all the basic functions are working properly, thus leaving the beta stage
Installed it and uninstalled it when I noticed it will quit working after three days. I'd hate to be late to work because it expired.
I've been using xtreme alarm clock pro for two years and it would be hard to replace it. Its so stable and rock solid.

I'm always releasing an update before the trial period is over, I just added that to prevent the beta version from leaking around once the full version is released, and also to make sure people are running the latest version instead of an old bugged one (and then leaving comments about my app not working)
Xtreme alarm clock doesn't look so nice, UI-wise, and it missed the main feature of my app of course, but hey, I know not everyone is going to use mine as main alarm
Also, being in beta stage, I recommend not using my app as your main and only alarm app just yet, I'd appreciate it if you tried it alongside XAC just to see if it works fine
This day, i dont think the app ring.. maybe my father turned it off first or is this the app fault?
Turn out to be my dad turning it off already
I would like to have a swipe to dismiss alarm.. like when you want a one time alarm you could just swipe to dismiss it

[APP] Super Simple Sleep Timer - Silence any audio app after a period of time [4.0+]

Hey guys,
Just a small utility I wrote for personal use which I thought I'd share in case anyone else finds it useful. As the title says, you set which audio app you want to stop after a set period of time, simple as that.
I personally use it before I go to sleep with either Umano or Pocket Casts, both have sleep timers but I find this much quicker to setup and use. Plus it has a lower volume option so it can tune it down to silence rather then just abruptly stopping the music.

Any issues let me know, otherwise enjoy

edit: here is what happened... the mx player app appears 3 times in the list... also i would love to have more than 60min option... and the app is unusable in the landscape mode..but still good work after all

I wanna keep it as simple as possible, I might add a widget for quickly settings the timer but not sure if I want to add a notification though. FYI you can cancel the timer anytime by just setting it at 0.

Thank you very much.
Worked fine in Poweramp, which has a built in sleep timer. Didn't work for me in HBO GO or Netflix. Would be nice to have those working for when I put on a movie I will almost certainly fall asleep to. But certainly not a complaint for a free app, more of a heads up. Thanks for your work!
Nice! I have not had the chance to test it yet, but I was looking for an app like this for spotify.
I would like to request an option to turn off my Bluetooth as well, because I use Bluetooth headphones.

nice app bro
really want it...
works perfectly on xperia l
Excellent app well done! thank you for the simplicity and keeping it free. It takes a lot of time and effort to put stuff together no complaints! BTW for the people who insist on new features i am sure donations motivate lol where is a p.p. link i would like to hit you with a fiver
Some suggestions, hope you don't mind.
Long durations than 1 hour (maybe like the Google calender selection, one outer circle for hours, inner circle for minutes).
Bigger gaps between 60 and 0 (more than once I want to set it to 60 and it goes to 0)
Make the press-able buttons more obvious (I didn't realize I had to press the button to activate the function, same for the lower volume option - the top part of the "Set sleep timer" button is too faint imho, more so on my old Nexus 7 than my Nexus 5.)

Could this switch off the music player entirely rather than muting and pausing the song?

What's the difference? All of the apps I have seen only have the option to play or pause..

Hmm, I don't have NetFlix to test but does it pause if you press pause on a bluetooth device (if you have one to test), and are you sure you had it selected from the list at the time?

Haha usually I'm always open to new feature but to keep this simple as possible I wanted to limit it to setting the time and app and that's it. Maybe I'll make a donate version which some of people's suggestions, if you want to donate though there's a donate button under my avatar

What I can do is make the number in the center editable so if you want more than 60 minutes you can just type it in, and yeah I'll make it so you can't infinitely go round the spinner to stop that between 60 and 0.
And hmm, what if I lose the button altogether and have it automatically set once you've set the time..
Very nice app!
A suggestion, hope you don't mind.
It would be nice to have an "all" option in the app drop down which broadcasts pause to all apps (it would make the app even simpler from a user perspective at least.)
Galaxy note 8 wifi
:good: Works great on Galaxy note 8 wifi [ROM][4.2.2][N5110/N5100/N5120] CivZ-FLEX-BEAM-REV3.6.2 + SphereXtreme [28/nov/2013]
New build is up:
- Added an "all" option which will pause all apps (although I've noticed that PowerAmp will start playing if it's already paused when it receives the pause command)
- The progress number is now editable so you can set any amount of time you want

Galaxy s5 pop-up sms for m8?

I don't know if anyone has used the gs5 but one of the features I loved from it was a quick pop up for sms that you could reply in and send off without closing the app you are in. It was very handy say if you are playing a game or don't want exit g+.
I know there are some apps on the play store called pop up but they are ugly and not very smooth. And when you reply in them it still shows as an unread on your messages. So all around they are far from perfect.
I was wondering if anyone had seen anything like this for xposed or maybe just a root app. Let me know if you see anything like this because I would love to have it on the m8.
Thanks guys

Oddly enough the verizon sms app does that, and you can sync it on multiple devices not just your phone. I have mine synced to my tablet and computer ?

Really? That's awesome. I'll check it out. I love the stock htc app for messaging but if i have to live with the Verizon app for the at feature I might as well try it out. Thank you for the heads up

There is a setting in Sense 6 Toolbox under Various Mods - Popup Notification that is similar to the S5 feature. I use it all the time. You can make the back ground blur when you receive the notification and it looks nice.
I know you may want to use the stock messaging app but the handcent app does this and I love it. I rarely go into the actual app. Here's the link if you want to check it out: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.handcent.nextsms
Just tried textra and I think it's one of the best sms apps there is. Has nice popup and reply features
Try go sms… has pop up window for new msgs like u said, doesn't leave it as unread msg ,and is extremely customizable and theme-able
If you use gpe or aosp Roms you can use heads up notifications.
I like this app it's called Heads-Up Notifications https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=codes.simen.l50notifications

I am also using the popup like you are but I have one question. I haven't seen anywhere in the toolbox where you can get a quick reply like cm and a few aosp roms have built in. Basically where it doesn't take you to the message app, it sends it via the popup message. Know what I mean?
