On iOS, I was a huge fan and user of CinemaFX Pro and ReelDirector.
Not too big on iMovie though.
Does anyone know of an app for android that lets me compile video and audio, maybe add adjustments and effects?
From searching, I'm pretty sure that no such app exists.
Does anyone know of one currently in development?

As you can tell I am not as familiar with Android as I would like to be. I have a question. I know that there are some pmp's out there that run android such as the archos media player. Would it be possible to port the actual movie player/codecs from an archos android build? Or are the kernels too different and the hardware too different for something like this to work?

It's entirely possible, but one of the things about movies on a phone is resources... it takes a lot of effort to decode those things and we don't have a high horse power piece of machinery. It's one of the reasons VLC hasn't been pursued on Android, that and running native byte code is difficult. Not impossible but difficult.
It's definely not going to be as simple as ripping the apk from their media player. You are probably better off trying to find a Dev capable of porting a VLC player to Android, I have looked into it but judging from the VLC Forums it would be really difficult - too it would probably be like a lot of Android stuff and Handset specific because of the hardware differences.
Thanks for the explanation. Most times I can watch movies with A1 or Meridian but sometimes I have to reboot and make sure no other apps are running. This is almost my answer to a phone/music player/movie player that isn't made by apple. The winmo devices can do that well but the battery life sucks. The TP I had was great with movies if you wanted to plug in after 20 minutes. I can watch a full movie on the hero and use much less battery.
i have searched and searched but i have turned up nothing. i know there is no video editing app for android. Is there anyone out there working on one. im sorry but i love my nexus very much. the one thing i wish i could do is record a 720p video add my youtube intro to it and then upload it to youtube. without having to connect to my mac convert video to mp4 then edit it in imovie then export it the upload it to youtube. i have thought about buying an itouch just so i could use it as a camcorder that have video editing. as you can see im not asking for much. im sure there is plenty of people that wish androids could do this.
Main things i would love to see
video splicing
transitions
thats all. i wish i knew how to program for android because i think this would be an amazing thing to bring to android.
I would like to know as well.
I'd also like to have this.
I already post this question but it is still unanswered :'(

I was interested in this too... even if I could just rotate the videos I rrecord by 90 degrees, that would be a huge help!

Also interested in this.
I'm curious to know if something like ffmpeg could be used? And then add a GUI afterwards?
Is there any cloud based application that can be used since we have flash and maybe let us upload your data and edit it there and redownload?
Sense as if that might be the least intensive work-wose unless someone has a native app everyone seems to have missed.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Hey all, there's a thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=830781 to port the LG Optimus' video editing app over to the Nexus One - apparently it's mostly working on the Vibrant already.
Anyone know of a decent multitrack recording app for windows phone 7, for musicians such as myself?
Thanks in advance..
I used to use Meteor, but it seems to only be good for older versions of Windows Mobile..
Do tell
THANKS
Seph
after using windows 8 for a little bit and seeing their interesting take on what multi track recording and music creation could look like on a touch screen, i've had an interesting idea on a recording app for the wp7. however, i'm a bit new to the development field, and this would take some time for me to create.
so far though, no app exists that i know of.

yeah but how would you record, trough the phones mic? Multitrack recording is possible i think, although wp7 is not super good with audio.
I have some classes for a drum machinr/sampler but was not satisfied by the latency, however this might be solvedeable with some sort of offset.

Yeah, it would be for fun on the go. Can't be worse than what I used to do with Meteor on my htc touch wm6.1
I have seen some decent apps for iphones and was expecting to at least find one with wp7. I agree, there appears to be none. For now...
O well.
Multitrack Recorder for WP7
I know this thread is pretty old, but I was surprised that there hadn't been a Multitrack recording app for the Windows Phone 7 yet.
So I made one! Just search for 4-Track Recorder in the Windows Phone Marketplace. It's free!
Thanks for the inspiration!
im looking for a video editing app where i can add a black overlay like some youtube videos have in the beginning, and have fade in effects. im planning on using the black screen to have text to describe the video. all im seeing is video trimming apps so far.
thanks
I have searched for this myself and from what I have found there is no such app. There was one that looked very promising but it was abandoned. I am very surprised that nobody has developed an app like this yet.

that is my one big gripe with taking videos from my phones is the fact i have to transfer it to my computer to edit them vs edit then straight to youtube from the phone. i know the i*hone has it on its camera software and its really popular, im surprised no dev has taken the task.
Videocam Illusion maybe?
Ok so, i'm completely new to app developing, and i know a small amount of coding (python, some java) and i got real tired of the Play Music app displaying bad quality album art, all the other apps on the market look bad or just have "too much" so to speak. So i thought why don't i just make my own app? i was thinking of making it look kind of like the ios 6/7 music player since it looks really nice and straight forward, but i don't know if i should start from scratch or use an open source music app and start from there? and if possible for someone to tell me if its gonna be a pain in the bottom. if you guys know of or have an app that resembles what i am looking for, it would be kind of you to provide it
I am on a Moto X running 4.4.2
any input is appreciated!
thanks!
if you have some knowledge from java.you need use a music player open resource and edit, reskin that you own.
