im looking for a video editing app where i can add a black overlay like some youtube videos have in the beginning, and have fade in effects. im planning on using the black screen to have text to describe the video. all im seeing is video trimming apps so far.
thanks
I have searched for this myself and from what I have found there is no such app. There was one that looked very promising but it was abandoned. I am very surprised that nobody has developed an app like this yet.

that is my one big gripe with taking videos from my phones is the fact i have to transfer it to my computer to edit them vs edit then straight to youtube from the phone. i know the i*hone has it on its camera software and its really popular, im surprised no dev has taken the task.
Videocam Illusion maybe?

i have searched and searched but i have turned up nothing. i know there is no video editing app for android. Is there anyone out there working on one. im sorry but i love my nexus very much. the one thing i wish i could do is record a 720p video add my youtube intro to it and then upload it to youtube. without having to connect to my mac convert video to mp4 then edit it in imovie then export it the upload it to youtube. i have thought about buying an itouch just so i could use it as a camcorder that have video editing. as you can see im not asking for much. im sure there is plenty of people that wish androids could do this.
Main things i would love to see
video splicing
transitions
thats all. i wish i knew how to program for android because i think this would be an amazing thing to bring to android.
I would like to know as well.
I'd also like to have this.
I already post this question but it is still unanswered :'(

I was interested in this too... even if I could just rotate the videos I rrecord by 90 degrees, that would be a huge help!

I'm curious to know if something like ffmpeg could be used? And then add a GUI afterwards?
Is there any cloud based application that can be used since we have flash and maybe let us upload your data and edit it there and redownload?
Sense as if that might be the least intensive work-wose unless someone has a native app everyone seems to have missed.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Hey all, there's a thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=830781 to port the LG Optimus' video editing app over to the Nexus One - apparently it's mostly working on the Vibrant already.
I recently got the J16 update for my samsung vibrant and noticed a small issue with my youtube app. I wanted to see if any one else was experiencing a similar issue. When I look for a video it will say searching for "xxxxxx" (the x's are symbolizing your choice of word). Once its done searching for the videos it will say at the top found "100000" for "xxxxxx" but the app shows no results it just says no videos found where all the videos should be

Okay just found out that in the version of the youtube app that I have the safe search is on and grayed out so I can't choose to disable this.
This is an issue since I can't veiw any videos with questionable words in the search like cannibal corpse songs.
Only way I've found around it is searching on mobile youtube then choosing to play on the app. Which is very inconvenient.
Is there a easy to fix this that I'm not able to find

Have a few questions about Screencasting, and I really couldn't find a definitive answer, so I knew this was the best place to ask...
I review Android Games & Apps for a site, and normally when I need a video I'll just youtube link it. I try to find Indie games, and review things a lot of folks might miss and unfortunately you can't always find a video available.
I know there's a modded version of Shootme! floating around, and it worked well but the quality wasn't really that great for some games I tried it on another big drawback was the lack of sound. Are there any other programs to try, or another way to go about it? Anything that does sound out there?
I've seen some very professional looking videos with audio and flawless video playback by some of the big dev companies so I know it can be done, just not sure how to do it. I know I could record the gameplay with a video camera like a lot of people do, but I'd prefer to keep my fingers out of the picture and literally just do a screencast with audio.
It might not be feasible, but I thought I would ask as it's been bugging me for awhile now. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

AFAIK: for anything above 10 fps framerate, you probably need another solution like a video (HD) capture card + an Android device with (m)HDMI-out.
So I've attached two images below. They are of two different YouTube videos being played on the Dolphin browser. As you can see, one plays normally, but the other is a grey box. It usually takes a while to actually start playing and when it does, it becomes a different aspect ratio (4:3 instead of the 16: 9 or 16:10 that it should be). Does anyone know why this happens and have a way to fix it? l know a simple solution would be to use the YouTube application or the YouTube mobile site, but I prefer the quality options of the desktop site.
Why don't you use the youtube app?

It's no problem
And thanks, but I've been using Dolphin Browser beta and it doesn't seem to have this issue. I'll probably stick with this for awhile
What's up,
So I've had my Tablet Z for just about a month and the only real complaint I have is the YouTube app video quality is pretty bad! What little setting adjustments there are don't do anything to help. It looks like my player is playing lo-res 480p video on an HD screen even when HD is highlighted as the play option.
Netflix, Sony Video player and inline/embedded videos all look great so I know it's specific to the YouTube player.
Hoping that the update that's due out this week will alleviate the problem, part of the update addresses the YouTube app. I didn't know that manufacturer's had their own versions of the Google core apps, learn something new everyday.
Anybody else?
Thanks.
They don't have their own version of the apps. They can't. Youtube, like many other apps, is closed source. The fix includes something in the file system related to YT, but not the app itself. I guess the update is related to videos most of the times stop working in the middle of it for no reason. Embed with a browser, and other apps, work just fine.

Check out the app called viral it solves the problem plus you can use it in floating mode or minimize it to play while screen is off when I started using viral it could go to 1080p which looks gorgeous on this device but for some reason I can only choose up to 720p but it's not tacky like it is on the official app

I think it runs at least 720p on supported videos... I think there is a hack to force use 1080p, not sure...
So I uninstalled the most recent update and the video quality dramatically improves! I'll stay with 4.5.17 until they have another major updates.I'll miss some of the cooler navigation features of the new version, but is rather have the picture quality back.
I'm surprised I'm there's only one this affected.

You're not the only one.... Same issues here, as well as on my dad's XTZ and my Nexus 5.... Seems like the new version of the app doesn't upscale from 720p to 1080p very nicely at all.....
