Thought about it and I still don't understand. There has never been any official announcement from anyone regarding GB. So a product release that has never been given a solid date can't be delayed. It can only be announced at this point. They've said Summer and last I check we're just starting Summer.

umm.....its been announced that they are going to release GB just not the date. So they can release it 10yrs from now and say here is our promise!
They did say BEFORE summer. Summer officially begins like June 16th. So we'll see.
Summer is June 21st. Not the 16th.

CM7 makes the official less harder to wait for.
Plus that article doesn't have any proof other then it isn't available today.
Plus why does the article about the G2x suddenly turn into a Sensation review? The article is titled G2x but the page name is HTC_sensation.
Looks like a flamebait switch to me. Perhaps someone which bought a sensation and is trying to justify buying a crappier phone.

GB comes out on June 15th. Its recommended to have 50% or more battery so the update can finish thoroughly.

I'd say rollout will begin June 17, 2011. We all should have known it wouldn't likely come this week because it didn't already leak out. The OTAs for android phones always seem to appear before the official updates begin.
Edit: I would absolutely love to be wrong this time.

what everyone fails to realize is they said it would be out by summer they didnt ever specify summer 2011 so it could be summer 2011 or summer 2015. like with HTC when the announce their bootloaders would be unlocked from now on that didnt say that the sensation and other phones released soon would be unlocked no...

uhhh... we've had the leak for a while now. although we don't think it was anything final. That told me that it was close a month ago.
When I get a new phone....... and that is a very long time away.

That's my point, it wasn't the final. It didn't fix the software bugs and only included the stock Android camera app. I don't think LG is going to ditch their wonderful camera app, so when that's included along with a much needed baseband update, we'll know we have our final leak.
What I think happened based on what people (including "insiders") have said on many forums, is that Gingerbread was ready and being tested for the G2x before the phone even launched. However, when it came out and they learned of all the bugs, they had to go back to the drawing board a bit. Then there was the issue of whether to do two separate updates, one for the bugs that the O2x received, and one to give us Gingerbread. Looks like they chose to bundle them together. The update has to be coming soon and will likely be preloaded on the new G2x units when T-Mobile finally gets them back in stock on their website.
i'll bet harold camping knows when it's being released.

1) will come out when the numbers crunchers decide its time. its about marketing and thats it.
2)it will be a piece of crap but hopefully have a good baseband and drivers so people that actaully know how to make a bug free rom can do so.

Maybe you should read in case like this! Where did it says infuse 4G in coming weeks? Unless you mean htc inspire = infuse 4G.
TechCrunch.com confimrs the same thing in this article. Of course just becuse they've announced it doesn't mean it's going to happen anytime soon.
All android phones from at&t will have gb before the end of the year. They just released gb for the matrix and the x10.

I got an Infuse yesterday, my first Android phone ever so I have a lot to learn.
I asked the AT&T salesman when Gingerbread was coming. He clicked around on his computer and replied that it was due last week in November/first week in December.
Ehh.. I was planning on waiting for the official Gingerbread but f that crap. I'm not waiting that damn long.

This is how it has been going down lately. ATT/Samsung will hold a press event showing off the product and release date. The release is date usually follows within a week or two. No press event has been scheduled to my knowledge. There's still enough days left in August for this to happen, though. My guess is august 31st.
Try the Sundays. The infuse relased on a sunday, the 6th, the 13th, thr 20th and the 27th. i hope the 27th, its my bday LOL
I recall the cappy was released on a Sunday too.

It might happen, but in no way would it happen by December. Expect something like March or April at the earliest. Programmers at cell phone companies are slow.

I'm hoping a manual update will be up by tomorrow. I've been checking the phone all day and I cringe when I see "Your phone is up to date".
If not, what's the point of making people wait a month?

They are saying: "The Over-The-Air (OTA) update will arrive anytime between tomorrow, June 4th to July 7th." So it does not mean it will be there today or tomorrow. It will be there before July 7.
I have no idea why TMO is behaving in such customer-unfriendly manner!
I went to T-Mobile's Facebook page and inquired about the update that was due today and instead I was told steps to do to free up memory and the administrator said he was waiting on the update himself, There's always tomorrow.
