[REQ] Custom SystemUI.apk - Eee Pad Transformer Themes and Apps

I'm wondering if someone could possibly mod asus buttons (home, back, menu etc...) to have the same color as the stock, or Xoom, buttons to fit in better in the bottom with the clock.
I don't want the stock buttons as I like the Asus ones better, but them being white makes them stand out a little bit too much for my taste.

Volume Overlay Issues with New Taskbars?

Iv been reading through some of the posts on the forum regarding volume overlays being affected by installing new taskbars as i am having the same problem. In core player, WMplayer etc whenever the usual green volume overlay would appear for volume i am instead getting a black vertical block on the left hand side of the screen, no volume indication at all.
I have installed the default HTC Leo volume control but this gets rid of the speaker icon in the Taskbar i have installed and its a very basic looking volume adjustment which also overrides the HD2's main volume control aswell, so uninstalled this.
Was wondering if there is any kind of update or a file in a cab that would remedy this issue?, its not the end of the world as the volume adjustment still works but theres just no indication. Although having an actual volume overlay looks much nicer than a black box =P.
If anyone could help would be much appreciated
Also forgot to mention I did try to install a cab from a post I read where somebody had included all files that was supposed to fix this issue but after install and soft reset it didnt change a thing. I have the gfreek G_Brains WM6.5 taskbar installed on my HD2 with Co0kie's Home Tab and the Chainfire HD2 3D Driver Patch... if this helps at all.
Same with me, on 1.66 standard ROM (UK).
I don't think this really is fixed on many of the taskbars.
I'm using the one attached below at the moment, has the old style black volume control though, and I would prefer the proper green slide one.
DJC seems to work OK too (do a search), and with the proper green slide volume control, but the voicemail icon isn't included and it's the standard white windows one amongst the nicer looking DJC graphics icons.
i was using the DJC one before but got this one becuase i was having some problems with a few of the icons not working. Posted this really to see if anyone had any idea of how to get this to work with ANY taskbar that was installed because i noticed quite a lot of people having same problems with numerous different taskbar installations. Like i said its not that big of a deal but would be nice to have the volume overlay that i had when i first got the phone (without having to uninstall my awesome new taskbar) =].
Thanx anyway

My solution to lack of hard button backlights

I was frustrated trying to see the hard buttons in the dark, so I bought a 10 pack of 1/4" diameter rubber O-rings at Home Depot (Danco #60, #96774, less than $3), and super-glued one to the right of each hard button, on the right edge. They are small enough that they do not extend beyond the top or bottom of the G-Tab.
Best way is to use super-glue with a brush applicator. Hold a ring with a tweezers, brush a TINY amount of super-glue on the bottom, carefully place and apply.
Photo is attached - works great for me in the dark.
Good Idea!
Good idea...but, the solution I have found is to use the Vegan rom and all of your buttons are in the the tool bar up top. I think that is the thing I love the most about that rom. I hate the fact that viewsonic didn't backlight their menu buttons

or Use Button Saviour and disable the backbutton on the tablet with remapper.
I hate keep touching that back button on the tablet. YMMV.
I couldn't live without Button Savior It tucks all the buttons you need in a tab on the right side of the screen. The tab hides (OSx Dock style) when not in use, and rotates based on your orientation.

+1 for Button Saviour,
That and I have VEGAn as my daily driver as it has "Home" "Menu" and "Back" keys on the Notification bar. GoJimi showed a preview of this feature and a few others with the CM/VEGAm merge on his website.
I patiently wait for that Beta.
ah chooooo! Someone needs to clean their screen
JK. Good Idea. But I use a program that pulls out a side menu with those options so I dont need the buttons.
Thanks
Scott
AWESOME IDEA!!!! i am going to hit home depot tomorrow on the way home! i am always hitting those damn buttons it seems... THANKS!
glow in the dark puffy paint
the solution i came up with was glow in the dark puffy paint. i placed a drop of it to the left of every soft key. i was quite surprised that the screen didnt wash out the light emitted from the paint. took a lil trial and error to get the proper placement of the piant. if you put it too close to the soft keys it desensitizes parts of the virtual keyboard. i also found that the white glow in the dark paint is better than the green.

I like that idea. Sounds like you have to be a bit careful though. Still may have to try it.

Just installed button mapper and button saviour. Its an awesome combo. I was hoping to just shut them off but I was able to re map them as a dpad. Now its even easier to select small, close together links while surfing the net or scroll through a PDF or ebook. Pretty cool.
Still wish there were back lights. Saw pics of a home mod using blue leds online but never saw any instructions.

This might be the thread, has lots of instructions

I did the same type of thing, but I used those black nail head covers you can get at the home improvement stores. I put superglue on the back side and stuck it to the side of the tablet next to each soft button. Then in the dark I can just feel and tap. I like the LED methods though better!

On-screen buttons on Sense 4.0??

Is there Any way to add a on-screen buttons to Sense 4.0 ROM? i edited framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk, but I got bootloop. Maybe I've done it wrong. Does anyone know how to do it?
Sent from my Sensation using XDA
Sorry but WHY, they just use valuable space of the screen.. If the screen had been all the way down and there where no soft buttons, there was a point in it, as the nexus..?
Then I can take a black spray, paint a buttons below screen, or remove them in other way, and have Sensation modified as f*uck I polished back housing, I`m gonna paint a picture of Android pissing on apple on plastic piece of back housing, remove buttons below the screen, but I need to have on-screen buttons But I don`t know how to do it
I found an app called "Button Savior". It adds buttons that I want, but they cover part of screen, that I need. If there is no way to add native on-screen buttons, is there any way to make a empty bar at the bottom of screen? then I can put Button saviour there.

[Q] keyboard torture

I'm not sure what I'm doing to make this happen, but it's driving me nuts. Whenever I remove my tablet from the blue tooth keyboard cover and go to type something, I get this little floating keyboard instead of the full size samsung board. I end up having to reset the keyboard in settings to get the full size one back. There has to be a better way... any pointers would be a godsend. Thanks!
Is there a little keyboard icon in the top left corner? If so, I think you can change your keyboard layout there.

[Q][mod-req] nav-ring with capacitive buttons

My buddy has the moto turbo, and it has capacitive buttons much like our OPO, but it still has a functional nav-ring. I love using the capacitive buttons, but I miss the ring functionality with the on screen navigation buttons very much. Doors anyone know if this is portable, or any kind of wip?
Cheers, and Merry Christmas!
I'm not sure what you mean by Nav ring, perhaps a screenshot? I'm guessing you're meaning something along the lines of pie controls, there's many custom roms that come with pa pie or slim pie included (in some cases both, eg mahdi). My preference is slimpie but they're both great!
Powered by Bacon
Not talking pie, it's when you swipe up from the nav bar, and you get the ring with Google now by default. Just a handy shortcut. So on the opo, that works with capacitive buttons disabled, but with them enabled, no nav ring.
I'm on a cm12 build, so obviously its in the early stages with most features yet to be implemented, but even on kk ROMs, I haven't seen this mod.
On the droid turbo I believe the home button barely touches the bottom of the screen so the phone is able to follow your finger's trail and detect wether to show the nav ring or not. On the OPO the capacitive button are smaller than the turbo's even though you can't see their borders, so I doubt it would be possible to port this function to the OPO, but I'd be surprised if someone would manage to make it work
I too am looking for an app that allows that function. First time seeing it on the droid turbo and was eagerly looking for it. I don't like how the soft screen buttons takes up a portion of the screen, so I still prefer capacitive buttons.
My closest alternative right now is SideControl by Jawomo. Although it's just slightly less efficient than the Nav Ring, but it works similiarly. Just slide up from the bottom of the screen and it easily opens up a panel with my shortcuts. Works pretty well too.
Hope this helps!
