Hey everyone, I am looking for the native android (froyo) 2.2 launcher/theme/look for the evo 4g?
I want to disable HTC Sense UI and use the native android 2.2 UI......
Any ideas on how we can get it? (without rooting or using anything like LauncherPro or AWD?)

Well, outside of rooting, I'm guessing the only way would be finding an launcher app that looks similar.
Not a lot of options.
So there is no way to get it unless I root my Evo?
How do I get it if I root it?

by installing a custom rom with it, or modifying your own rom to incorporate it.

Look at the development section. Most roms have screenshots on there, so just find one with the style you're looking for.
of course, make sure to look at the descriptions of the roms, bc they're custom for more thean their looks. A lot of them add and remove features, and they may be things that you don't like. Definitely choose carefully.
Anyways, if you're not rooted, and u've installed the 2.2 update from sprint, you're not going to be able to root at the moment anyways.

Awesome thanks for your help TJDuckett

If you just want the stock 2.2 launcher go to settings then applications find the rosie app and clear defaults then when you hit the home button select launcher 2 as default. Sense will still be integrated through out the phone but you will have the stock 2.1 launcher
in the latest 2.2 update for Sprint they removed the native launcher all together. I have attached it to this post for you. Enjoy! It also reinstalls the stock backgrounds which were also removed. BTW this does not require root. Just simply install apk file.

In the root of your sd card (I made a folder on the sdcard called Android Apk and put all my apk's in there). Than open up Astro, migrate to the apk and install it.

No the apk I uploaded is the stock 2.2 launcher.
Sense widgets go with the sense launcher which is why you won't find then when using the Android 2.2 launcher.
To install just double tap the apk in astro or another file explorer.

Then you didn't install this apk. Mine says:
Name: com.android.launcher
Label: Launcher
File Version: 2.2
Nowhere on the summary or details tab does it say ADW.
It is clearly the stock android 2.2 launcher.
Is there a reason the phone button doesn't work? I get a message saying there's no app installed on my phone.
My deivce is HTC HD2 with TyphooN CyanogenMod 7
ADW launcher is witch it has bulid-in
but i install an EX version to replace it
then the theme chooser(also build-in) didn't work perfectly with ADW launcher EX
Is there any way to modified the configuration or something else to fix it?
I have tried to repack the theme chooser back to apk and re-install it again.
But the system said that i can't re-install it.
Bump. I would love to know how to do this as well.

I'm assuming you are talking theme chooser for CM7? If so, this thread can help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1019730.
EDIT: That actually is for the Tmobile theme chooser, but the same will work for CM7. Not sure if CM7 can function without it, though.

thanks for the reply
by doing that can i get the original UI of gingerbread??
cause i want the original UI of Gingerbread..
No you can't because in system/app there must be also another launcher (gingerbread) which isn't there (TOUCHWIZ) so you can remove it but you cant do anything if you have NO launcher only if you have installed another launcher.
I suggest you to try this launcher which has the same feeling like the GB launcher
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.modaco.android.launchergb it is provided by MoDaCo, a popular android site where you can "bake" your own custom rom!

try downloading this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1557091
it is the modded xperia s launcher that you change to have as many home screens you want up to 11 and try this theme for stock 2.3.3 it might work for 2.3.4
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28582372&postcount=7
but before you flash that theme, flash this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762074
then that theme over that.
Hit the thanks if I helped
Get a launcher like holo launcher. They're very customizable. I'm running touchwiz themed holo launcher with 5x4 home screens.
